October 17th, 2421 The UNAN Armageddon
"Contact!"
"Man battlestations!"
"First mate Crism, fire the particle ray!" a grim-faced man with dark skin and a grey beard sat in a large captain's chair in the center of the bridge of the Armageddon, a UNAN (United Nations Aerospace Navy) superdestroyer. It was the largest ship in the galaxy; so large that it couldn't land on any planet, and had to get it's maintenance from a satellite that orbited New Terra, the largest planet by size and population in the United Nation of Humans. He was captain Antonius Nemesis, the oldest (being 235 years old) and most respect space captain in the fleet, and he was the one who barked this command.
"aye-aye, sir!" First mate Crism, a younger man in his mid thirties, called out. he hit a few buttons on the plasma screen in front of him and put in his clearance code.
BOOM! From out of the seventy-three retractable plasma cannons on the ship's port side came individual bursts of plasma mixed with tritium ions, peppering the approaching saucer-shaped ship which was engaging the Armageddon. Inside of that ship were strange alien life forms who's skin were a dark, slimy ollive and who had a series of cuttlefish-like tentacles where their mouths should be. They were about ten feet tall, and scrawny. They walked around the ship on three slimy tentacle-like legs. Humans called them "Gorgons", as they were terrifying to look at. They knew themselves as the Sczhwvark, and they hated humans as a species. They were such ugly creatures, those humans were, and their foolish hydrogen fuel cell spaceships were spreading too much pollution all over the place! Gorgons were allergic to pure Hydrogen.
The saucer-shaped ship's plasma shields caught the blows from the Armageddon, but it was severely drained.
"MUKaKaK!" (kill them!) The Gorgon captain cried out. One of his underlings hit a button, and a green laser flew from the ship's single laser synthesizer. The beam tore a hole in the simple Human Mass Inversion shields, as lasers had no mass, and impacted with the side of the ship, though the ship as a whole was so big that it barely did any damage. But Nemesis had pride in his ship and didn't like to see it get hit by anything.
"Damage report, engineer Ivus!" He called out, punching a console on his chair.
"No serious structural damage, sir! The steel impact shell absorbed most of the blast!"
"excellent! We need more firepower! Turn ninety degrees port and activate the Cherub!"
"aye-aye sir!" The men went to work, and the ship slowly began to turn, taking about five shots from the Gorgon laser cannon as it did so. That was one of the problems with superdestroyers; they had terrible handling.
When the turn was complete, a small hole opened in the Armageddon's bow. It soon grew and grew into what looked like the barrel of a gun.
"Charge the Cherub!" Nemesis cried.
"yes sir!" slowly but surely, the Cherub's mercury core heated up and began to boil. A massive heat wave formed in the center of the laser. The Gorgon captain saw this, and immediately tried to move out of the way of the laser.
"Fire static blast!' nemesis called.
"Bombs away!" A radio wave was sent through the Armageddon's comms, disabling the Gorgon ship's engines, comms, and weapons systems. They were sitting ducks.
"Cherub loading progress Crism?" nemesis called.
"50% sir!" He turned back to the red plasma console that he sat at, the weapons station, and watched as the energy bar for the Cherub slowly went from 50 to 51 to 52. The Cherub was powerful, but it required ten minutes to load.
five minutes later and a large ball of burning gaseous mercury formed in the Cherub. The Gorgons ran for their lives, but it was futile, the ship could not move and the static ray had disabled the escape pods.
"99....100 percent charged, sir!" Crism called out
"excellent," Nemesis' face broke into an evil grin. "Fire Cherub!"
The ship shook as powerful electromagnets propelled the ball of burning gas out into space as a high speed. It flew at approximately the speed of sound and collided with the Gorgon ship. The burning gas was as bright as the sun, and completely absorbed the Gorgon ship, leaving nothing behind but gaseous steel.
Welcome to Sea of Stars! A space RP spectacular! In this Roleplay, you control your own spaceship and explore the vast galaxy! The roleplay is centered around three species of life forms that live in the Milky Way Galaxy ; The Humans, the Gorgons, and the Chimerans. Here are descriptions for each:
The Humans:
The Human race has come a long way in these 500 or so years. In 2100, the United Nations took over Earth, making it one glorious empire under the president. Soon after, the first colony was placed on the moon after the Earth became too full. It was soon terraformed to be Earth-like, and NASA then planned to colonize Mars. Soon after, they discovered faster-than-light-speed travel, allowing them to travel the galaxy. In the matter of fifty years, the human race colonized over 300 planets and grew to a population of about 500 billion. After discovering several powerful space empires, the Humans built the largest naval space fleet in the galaxy.
ship bonuses: Humans have the benefit of several special technologies. Firstly, most of their naval vessels are equipped with Mass Inversion Shields, special shields that can deflect anything that has mass. It doesn't work against plasma damage, but it renders bullets and missiles completely useless against your ship. Most Human ships (except for fighters and carriers) are also equipped with Sparkler missiles, special rockets that break apart when launched and explode like fireworks. If you hit an enemy shield with them, it causes the shipe to be temporarily absorbed. Also, Human ships run on hydrogen fuel cells, which never run out of energy.
Gorgons:
The Gorgons are an odd race. They are a warlike people that have been control of the inner first galactic arm for nearly a millennia, and are beginning to colonize the outer areas of the arm, where the Humans were. They have a deep hatred for humans and Chimerians, because both of them are in what the Gorgons believe to be "their territory". The Gorgons are a dictatorship under the Grand Vizier, or the CHUthULUU, in their language. They breathe a mixture of oxygen and methane, causing their planets' atmosphere's to be a bright cyan color.
ship bonuses: The Gorgon ships have special plasma shield generators making plasma and/or laser weapons completely ineffective against them. Also, Gorgon destroyers, battleships, frigates, and flagships have Methan rays; a laser made of superheated methane that can burn holes in planets' ozone layers, killing everyone on the planet, though it drains the ship's energy and shuts off it's engines to prevent overheating. The Gorgon ships run on methane miniature particle colliders, which allows them to travel twenty times the speed of light, twice as fast as any human ship, though it can run out of fuel.
Chimerians:
The Chimerians are questionably the most dangerous race in the galaxy. They live on the very edge of the galaxy, far away from the core. They are reptilian-like creatures, about seven feet tall, with heads that look like that of a skink with red eyes and black skin. Their backs are covered in bead-like scales that go from the back of their heads to their long tails. The rest of their bodies are covered in a hard, scaly exoskeleton (I will post a picture of them here when I finish it. making them on Spore). They are the most advanced race that the humans have met so far. Luckily for us, the Chimerians are a peaceful race and are friendly with the Humans, but hate the Gorgons. The Chimerians are a theocracy. They worship the god Persu, who is said to live in the center of the galaxy. His will is determined by a council of 301 high priests who get together in a council on the Chimerian home planet of Grankar.
ship bonuses: Chimerian ships contain dark matter cloaking devices. These devices make them completely invisible to enemy ships. With this cloak on, they have no heat signature, give off no noise, and give off no light. Chimerians also have their trademark energy pulsar, a powerful pulse beam that is made of a large technetium slug with a dark energy coating. Because of it's unique structure, the energy pulsar can break through both human mass inversion shields and Gorgon plasma shields, though Chimerian shields in themselves are extremely weak, so they are more apt to damage.
Kinds of ships:
These are the different types of ships that you can control!
-frigate
Frigates are small armed ships, kind of like miniature destroyers. They are normally sent to protect merchant ships from pirates and enemies (the Gorgons have a knack for raiding Chimerian ships to steal Technetium). They are normally equipped with plasma cannons and machine guns. Their average size is between 300-500 feet long.
-destroyer
Destroyers are normally the most common ships in the average war fleet. They come in a range of sizes, from a few hundred feet long to several miles long. They usually pack a decent bit of firepower, and have plasma cannons, missiles, jammers (jam radio signals and mess with enemy power supplies) and lasers.
-battleship
Now here come the big boys. battleships are the most powerful ships in most fleets except for the flagships. They are normally set to protect that flagship from enemy fleets. Most battleships are between 1-3 miles long. Battleships usually have jammers, anti-matter missiles, plasma cannons, laser cannons, machine guns, and MAC rounds (the things from Halo).
-battlecruiser (Gorgons only)
Battlecruisers are the trademark of Gorgons. They are heavily-built ships, ranging between 2-6 miles long. They are orbital defense ships, and orbit important planets to protect them from attack. They are normally shaped like an old sail ship without the sails, and the tips of them are made of supersharp steel. it is designed for ramming enemy ships. battlecruisers pack quite a punch, and have machine guns, missiles, jammers, plasma cannons, laser cannons, and the coveted "Gremlin" hyperslug; a special weapon that fires a silicon slug at the speed of light, blowing holes in enemy ships, though it takes a long time to charge.
-carrier
Carriers are the second largest ships in most fleets. They range between 9-15 miles long, and are the only ships besides flagships to carry fighters, which is the primary objective of the carrier. The average carrier holds between 100-300 fighter ships, which have powerful plasma cannons and machine guns. The average carrier contain a few plasma cannons, machine guns, and are normally protected by at least three destroyers.
-hypercarriers (Chimerian only)
Hypercarriers are the largest ships in the Chimerian fleets. They are between 25-40 miles long and hold 1000-2000 fighter jets. They are also healing hubs for other ships in the fleet, and contain ship docks for battleships, destroyers, and frigates. They are normally equipped with plasma cannons and machine guns.
-flagships (mod exclusive)
Flagships are the crown jewels of a fleet. They range in size from anywhere between 25-70 miles long, and contain anywhere between 100-300 fighters. Most flagships have machine guns, plasma cannons, missiles, MAC rounds, and laser cannons. Each race has their own special super weapon as well:
Humans: the Cherub- The Cherub is a massive weapon with the capability to vaporize entire enemy ships. It is a powerful weapon that rapidly heats mercury, making a ball of burning gas that is then fired using powerful electromagnets. It takes at least ten minutes to recharge after firing, though.
Gorgons: the KRE'elATa- The Kre'elata is a Gorgon superweapon. It runs on technetium, a very rare substance that the Chimerians have a trade monopoly over, which is why the Gorgons hate the Chimerians. The weapons superheats the technetium, and then mixes the boiling liquid technetium with lead, making a powerful projectile that can literally burn through shields and incinerate ships.
Chimerians: the Seraph- The seraph is a special rocket made by Chimerians. It runs similarly to the Kree'elata in that it is made of technetium, but it is extremely different as well. The Seraph superfreezes technetium with a mixutre of liquid nitrogen and superfrozen unobtanium, making the Seraph's technetium projectile three degrees warmer than absolute zero. It is then launched with electromagnets. When the Seraph hits an enemy ship, it freezes it's shields, engines, and crewmembers, rendering the ship useless. It takes about ten minutes for it to charge, though.
