| I'm no expert. Most of my information comes from Percy Jackson, as said above, and a game called Titan Quest.
And perhaps sixth grade history class, but that was forever ago.

| BLEH PERCY JACKSON.
It has a tenuous relation to greek mythology at best, and treated the gods like unaproachable, inhuman pillars of the world... Because, y'know, greek mythology totally wasn't entirely defined by which god boned which mortal, and which member of the incestuous stew that resulted from their couplings had most recently gone to bother some random mortal and give them a horrific quest, often of a nature more self-serving than world-saving. Medusa? You know how hera gave the quest to kill her? Interesting fact: Hera was the one who cost Medusa and her two sisters with their monstrous forms. Heracles?(Hercules greek name) he was one of zeus' mortal sons, and the mother was so frightened Hera would strike him down that she named him 'the glory of hera', and even that didn't work, Hera being the one responsible for Heracles' wife and child murdering, and thus, his later trials. But all that was excluded from the disney version, of course. Hera was kind of a bitch, but to be fair, Zeus tricked her into marrying him, and then went on to 'make love to' anything with two legs(and several things without).

| I believe Heracles had to go on his quest because he killed his mortal mother (brother? Dog? Something like that?)
Apparently he had a twin brother from a different father.
All cells in my brain broke trying to figure that one out.

| I thought Athena did that to Medusa for sleeping with Poseidon in her temple... | |

| The version I heard is this:
Athena did that to Medusa for "bringing" a man into Athena's temple.
Medusa was being chased- she figured if she fled into the temple, Athena would strike down the man who was after her. Instead, Athena "cured" Medusa of her beautifulness. Now any man who looks upon her is turned to stone.
I think the author of Percy Jackson has done a good job of making Greek Mythology kid-friendly, without totally screwing up every single legend out there. It's fascinating.

| I don't. Percy Jackson is an okay read in my opinion. Yes i did read the first book and yeah... Like with the twilight books...never again....
But to be fair I'm not really part of the target demographic for either of those books.

The second series is better in my opinion.
Never read Twilight, don't plan on reading it.
