Act 1: In the Cold Paradise::
_________________________________________________________

Spoiler:

Friday. 3:05, Pm.

Dacious, and Amimoore Dellamorte.

Afternoon. In the Headmaster's office that overlooks the dock, Dacious White Dellamorte was looking out of his grand windows towards the docks. The boat carrying the next group of fresh students was closing in on the docks. They would be here in a few minutes. It was habit to be there when the students first get off the boat, so he turned around to start marching outside. However, all he saw was his young daughter Amimoore standing in the way of the door. "Can I help you?" Dacious calmly asked her, stopping in his tracks to see what she wanted.

"I want to know why you've kept all these things away from me..." Amimoore says, her blonde hair idly hanging off her head. A determined look on her face, giving her father a narrow glare. She knew something. "You're the only one with the mind I cannot get into... So I'll get the answers from you."

This subject again... Ever since Ami developed her Telepathy, she's been probing minds that she shouldn't have been. Finding more information that should have been kept a secret. Things that can shatter the order of the school... Which is something Dacious desperately wants to avoid. That information had to be expunged, or else. There was only one way to be sure. Dacious slowly approached his daughter, "Look, what you've learned... It shouldn't have been discovered by anybody, you must understand." At this point, he was just about in arm's reach of his daughter.

"I do understand one th-" Amimoore spoke, being cut short when Dacious grabbed her arm. She jolted as her mind was... Altered. The memories she had of what she's probed from the staff's head where gone. What he placed in her head was a subconscious order not to probe into anymore of the staff's heads. She wouldn't even know that he done anything to her. She also had no clue why she was here. It wasn't a long-term solution, but it would work for now. Dacious took his hand off her, and looked at her. "Uhh..." Was all Amimoore could let out.

"Remember?" Dacious says with a convincingly warm smile, his hands tightly on his cane, leaning on it a bit. "You were going to accompany me on the way to the new arrivals?"

Then Amimoore remembered that today was the day that new students arrived, and like her father always did, he was going to deliver a grand speech to them. Then there's the grand banquet, that's always thrown to welcome new students whenever they arrive. Usually Amimoore found them dull - But, she never knew. One day she'll find out something interesting. Amimoore smiled wide, and spoke, "Oh yeah! Let's go."

Then they marched outside to the docks. By the time they arrived, the students had already started to disembark from the boat.

The New Arrivals.

After a painful, two hour boat-ride on what amounts to be a massive, high-class, cruise-ship, the students had finally arrived at the Academy 218 island. A frozen paradise, that's as beautiful as it is cold. There was snow far as the eye could see - Despite the fact that the snow had stopped hours ago. It'll pick up again later on in the day. Shortly the students were herded off the boat by the staff, and into the Reception building, without their luggage. Various members of the staff were taking the luggage off the boats to baggage claim. With the headmaster Dacious, and his daughter greeting them, shaking their hands and parroting "Welcome" over and over again until they were all gone. The moment when all the students were in the reception building, both Dacious and Amimoore walked inside.

All the newly arriving students, around thirty, were stuffed inside the reception building's auditorium. A large room filled to the brim with comfortable chairs and a large stage. Every student was seated, sitting waiting for the moment when something happened. Slowly walking onto the stage of the Auditorium, standing before the large group of brand new students, was Headmaster Dacious Dellamorte. Sans Amimoore who had head off to the party. He walked up to the large microphone stand. He grabbed to, then conducted his grand speech to all the new students. It essentially was the same speech he gave every other group of students;

"Welcome, wondrous students of the 218, I am Headmaster Dacious Dellamorte. The man placed in charge of this illustrious academy decades ago. And on behalf of the school, I welcome you to the Academy. Here, our staff will explore your abilities and assist you in learning your true potential. However, we are not all about our gifts. We will give you an education much like a regular high-school would. I guarantee that the moment you graduate, you will be a master at your gift, and have a complete education. You all will be the last group arriving this year - With the next group coming in early March. As we usually do, we are throwing a grand banquet in celebration of the newly arrived students - The staff will escort you all there. Take this as time to familiarize yourself with the school, and get to know your fellow students. But above all else; enjoy yourselves. And if you need anything, we have a fully equipped staff that will assist you all the way. That is all, you are dismissed."

At the end of Dacious' speech, he waved goodbye to the students with a warm, welcoming smile on his face. The staff members quickly herded the students, again, out of the auditorium, and the reception building. As they were leaving  Dacious walked off the stage into another hallway, back towards his offer. He wasn't going to attend the banquet, not like he does it anyway. The newly arrived students were lead along by the staff, taking a scenic route throughout the Academy. With some of the staff telling them what building is what. After a good ten or so minutes of walking, the group made it into the cafeteria building.

The Cafeteria had been set up hours before the newly arrived students were there. The main room was quite large, made to accommodate a larger group of people at a time. The place was absolutely cleaned to shininess. The building was filled with fancy and finely crafted tables and furniture, each with a set of utensils placed on them. On the left side of the building was where the counter was. All sorts of chefs were set up here constantly making any dish for the students. Students and teachers, of all types, were all over the place. Talking, eating, and having fun. With some of the more reclusive students away from everyone else.

Johnny, Jake, and Gabriela Valos.

Spoiler:

Immediately, the Valos family found their way to the other end of Cafeteria building. The spot where they were far away from everyone else, a nice little corner where they can relax, and be out of sight. To Johnny there were two strategic advantages to sitting away from everyone else. One; what they discuss won't be notice, and two; they won't be bothered by anyone else. Because they all had objectives here; none of them required them to get annoyed by some brat. Plus, if someone does come up, there's not anyone else near them, so they'll know if anyone's trying to come close to them. Which will give them plenty of time to drop what they're doing and act natural, get rid of the tool, and continue.

Slamming her plate of chicken on the table with near-breaking force, and resting her behind on the chair, Gabriela Valos was the first to speak; "Ugh... That guy stroking his d*ck about the school pissed me the hell off. Give me a f*cking break. 'Here we will teach you how to use your power, blah, blah, blah, more bullsh*t' that we already know..." Gabe complains about the spoke, fairly obvious that she wasn't a fan of Mr. Dacious' speech. "If I had a d*ck he'd be the first one I'd be tellin' to suck it." Gabe was wearing one of her usual outfits. A leather longboat that went down past her knees. With a white shirt that had a white cat on it with text on the side that said "DO YOU LIKE ME? :3", obviously it looked like a shirt for a girl far younger than Gabriela. She had on blue jeans, with black sneakers on her feet. Her eye-patch was still covering her missing eyeball. To cover her hands, she wore leather gloves, because her hands are burned pretty badly - And no one wants to see that. Gabe kicked her feet up on the table, and leaned back in the chair.

"Eh, I could have done without that speech myself, but it won't kill me. Heh. Few things ever will." Johnny didn't get any food. Merely because he wasn't hungry at all. He just sat down and spoke after Gabe did. Johnny wore his usual fancy attire. A massive tattered brown long-coat - With a brown pinstriped suit on underneath, with a dark-red tie. He had on his gun-belt, with no holsters. Because he had to leave his guns behind lest he wanted them to be stolen. However, the people who searched him didn't do a good enough job. Because he still had his cane. A sword well hidden inside of it. It never left Johnny's side. Finally, on his head Johnny wore a large wide-brimmed fedora that looked more like a cowboy hat. That gave him a mysterious stranger kind of look.

"So it's unanimous? We all didn't like the speech." Jake says, with an uplifting smile on his face. Trying to lighten the mood a bit since these two were a bit tense. Jake wore a fancy outfit similar to Johnny... Well it IS Jake's first day here. So he was going to dress to impress. Jake wore a black suit similar to Johnny's, and had a vest over it. Hanging out of his vest was the chain of his pocket-watch. He wore a black bowl-hat on his head, and leather gloves. Looking a bit sophisticated, Jake wore round glasses. Jake was eating a chicken salad with ranch dressing. He was glad to be here, unlike his two siblings, but unfortunately he didn't want to b*tch about the speech all day. So he came up with a subject changer. He hadn't seen his brother Johnny in several years, and he looks much different than before. "How's life been, Johnny?" It might have been a stupid question - Since, Johnny's life was probably horrible.

"Less than pleasant I must say... Best that I don't get into it while we're out in the open like this." Johnny answered Jake's question, yet dismissing it since he didn't want to talk about it around so many people. "But I'm more interested in your lives... Specifically, why Gabe only has one eye..."

"Lost it inna' fight. Should have seen what I did to the other guy... Let's just say he won't be too pretty 'ere on in." Gabe answers, since she was only listening to them at this point. She was getting quite bored. So she decided it was time to start alleviating that boredom with something. Gabe took off her gloves to reveal her scarred hands, and placed them on the table. She felt a bit more comfortable with them off. Reaching into her coat, she pulled out a ball of yarn, and two candle-cane colored crochet-hooks. Then she started knitting. Nothing in particular. "What I'm mo' interested about is why ya' 'ere, Johnny. I didn't know types like ya' went to school, The Revo-" Gabe was abruptly cut off by Johnny.

"Shut the hell up, Gabe!" Johnny said, angry. His right eye glowing. Gabe was close to saying his street name The Revolver. He's pissed off a good amount of people back in the good old USA. The kind that'd burn anyone that gets in their way. He came to the Academy to hide. The last thing he wanted was for Gabe to blurt his name and someone immediately recognize him and lose their sh*t, setting the entire island after on him. That would mean that Johnny will have a situation on his hands that he won't be able to get out of. After he calmed himself, Johnny spoke with a calm fury, "Look we should discuss things like that out here. Because it'll end horribly for all of us us."

"'Kay, Johnny." Gabe answers. While her knitting intensified.

Drake D. Blackmore.

Spoiler:

After the speech, Drake had calmly went along with the group of new students. A bit excited for the banquet. Since he was excited to come here the moment that invitation came in the mail. Because he can finally have a place where he can be what he really is - Well, more of that this is where his Father works. A place where they can connect again. Though, he wished it was a little warmer here. Drake prefers warmer temperatures. Not the temperatures. He walked inside and looked around. He was amazed how many people were in here. And each and every one of them are Meta-humans. Drake made his way to the food-counter, got a cheeseburger and found a table in the middle of the room. He sat  down, gently placing his plate on the table, and calmly took bites out of it. While looking around the room. He was searching for his father, Adam, but there were so many people here, it made it hard to find him. Plus, Drake was barely sure that he was even in here.

Then Drake got the urge to smoke. The plan was that he was going to eat some food, find Adam, head out to smoke, then find his dorm-room. Drake wore a leather jacket, with matching black leather gloves. Just to prevent any unnecessary transformations. He wore a white T shirt with a large D over his chest. He wore matching black-jeans. Resting on his forehead was his tinted goggles.

Adam L. Blackmore, & Amimoore B. Dellamorte.

The moment that all the students were off the boat, Amimoore made her way to the cafeteria ahead of them. Since the speech was never anything special, so she just skipped to the banquet. She was there long before the new students were. Amimoore was the headmaster's daughter, and had a few connections to the rest of the teachers. She grabbed a little bit of food, some chicken, pork, and vegetables, then headed for a table that had the most teachers. Fortunately, Amimoore was on relatively good terms with almost all of them. Thus, she could sit with them. Because she was a bit more comfortable with them than the rest of the students. "Hello." Ami spoke in a formal tone, as she rested her food on the table. Amimoore was wearing a black fabric vest over a grey T-shirt. She wore blue jeans, with black combat boots. She wore a beanie hat on her head.

One of the teachers at the table was Adam Blackmore. Power Instructor for the Elemental and Energy type students. One of the most popular ones, in fact. He was on great terms with Amimoore. "Hello, Ami." Adam greeted her. He was wearing an all black suit, with a white tie and black dress-shoes. Like he usually does.

"So you said that you had a family member coming to the Academy, yeah?" Amimoore asked Adam. Just because she was trying to start a conversation and didn't want to just awkwardly sit here in utter silence.

It reminded him, Adam probably should go find Drake before the dinner ends. Just to nail a few things into his stubborn son's head. Mostly the stuff that'd keep him from acting like a jackass. Adam spoke to Ami, "Drake Deltori Blackmore. He's my first son, easily the one that was the most interested in the Academy. I didn't exactly hear much about his ability, or how good he is at it, but I know that he too inherited the family power."

"Oh. What's he like?" Amimoore asked, after Adam finished talking. She could have gotten the answers out of his head, but that'd been boring.

"He's rather... Hm... Not the exemplary person I'd like him to be... But, he has the best of intentions, and that's all that matters." Adam tried his best not to go too into how Drake acts. Merely because there's much irritation involved.

Ami nodded, then spoke, "If I find him, I'll send him straight to you." She gave him a warm smile.

Valery Arsov

Valery was taking a nap when the new students arrived. He'd mounded up a small bed out of snow, completely comfortable in gym shorts, a t-shirt, and flip flops. A decent layer of snow had accumulated on him (it seemed that only in his immediate vicinity was snow falling at the Academy) and as the arrival of new students roused him from his slumber, the old bear of a teenager stretched lazily, brushing the frost off of him. "Ah, fresh meat!" he sighed to himself, standing up and yawning a bit. Valery had a decent beard going, with the intention of combining "rugged" without looking like he was totally unaware of what a razor was. His eyepatch twitched just a bit in the wintry breeze as his good eye surveyed the new kids. While all of the girls caught Val's attention, two in particular stood out: one rather lost little thing who seemed as comfortable in the cold as he was ((Leila)) and another who was wearing an eyepatch. I love this Academy! If only she speaks Russian, we'll be set.

Val casually followed the group in, striking up a conversation with whoever happened to be around. Subtly, he was attempting to move a little closer to that cute, untouched-by-the-cold girl, but as 6'2 people everywhere have found, being subtle can be tricky. The movement of the crowd and subsequent speech by the headmaster separated them further, leaving our romantically cursed bachelor laughing to himself in the atrium. "Might as well get food. Doing jack sh*t all day takes it out of me." The walk to the lunch line, was, of course, intermitten with conversations with acquaintances and boisterous laughter on Valery's part: given how often he stopped and talked, it took him a full fifteen minutes to actually get his food and sit back down.

Selecting an almost empty table, Valery sat down across from Drake, a silly grin on his face and a full plate of food in his friends. "Hey, fresh meat," Val said, his tone playful and accent comprehensible (he sometimes liked laying it on extremely thick to mess with people, but for the most part, his English was good). "Anyone sitting here? You are new to the Academy, yes? My name is Valery Arsov." He extended a big, callused hand to Drake to shake and looked Drake up and down. "Goggles! I like them. Next time headmaster speaks, put them on and then you can take a nap without him noticing. Where are you from, eh?" Valery didn't seem at all fazed by the fact Drake was a total stranger, speaking honestly and energetically: he seemed pretty genuine in what he was saying, even if his good eye was dancing about at the girls walking behind Drake as he talked.

Leila Gabrielle Septim

The cold didn't even seem to register with Leila. She stepped off the boat, standing alone and huddled, arms wrapped around her chest (this was not because of the cold, however; it was merely a defensive gesture, as if Leila was a lamb curling away from a pack of wolves) and green eyes darting around, scanning for threats. Beside her, visible to no one else (save Valery, perhaps, were he to use his good eye) was a mirror image of Leila. No, no it wasn't the same. The real Leila stood hunched, startled, her beauty marred by visible anxiety and fear, but this Leila wasn't held by the same restrictions. Pride-Leila stood perfectly upright, perfect posture, with a comfortable smirk on her face, chin high and, while her arms were crossed over her chest, it wasn't in a gesture of helplessness. It was one of absolute relaxation. Pride-Leila brushed one of Leila's hairs, which had fallen onto her face, out of the way, and giggled. Madame, you really must work on your posture. No one will notice you all hunched over like that.

A second voice, slippery and smooth, crept up Leila's spine and into her ear. There was the faintest feeling of someone's breath on her neck and strong hands on her shoulders, massaging the tense muscles into blissful comfort. Lust whispered Oh, but there is someone who's noticed you, forget what Lucifer says. Look at him, to your right. A big strong bull, Russian by the looks of it. He has quite the eye for you. Leila, reluctantly, cast a glance over at Valery, who did seem to be checking her out, and felt a surge of panic. Oh God. Oh Christ. What if he came over? What if he started a conversation? What if any of these people did, it'd be so awful, she wouldn't be able to-

Calm yourself, Miss Leila Lucifer said, gentle but firm. You're more than capable of dealing with them. These kinds of social anxieties are, I'm afraid, Leviathan's doing. Had you not given in to him...

Seamlessly, another Leila appeared beside her, her green eyes a much more vivid shade, polishing her nails with a bored expression, occasionally checking out people around them. Unlike Pride-Leila, who was wearing Leila's outfit (albeit better), Envy-Leila was wearing pieces of the outfits of everyone around them, and her body wasn't Leila's, it was an impossibly good shape, impossibly contoured and proportioned. Oh, please, Lucifer. Honey, I've never told you anything but what you've-

"All of you shut up!" Leila hissed, closing her eyes hard for a moment. She realized with a start that she had spoken these words out loud (Envy's laughter was unbearable) and flinched, stammering for an apology. "I'm so sorry, I just, uh-" her panicked eyes glanced at the people around her, searching for an answer-

...have a migraine... Pride suggested.

"...h-have a migraine and, the...."

the glare of the sun off the snow and all this noise...

Leila winced, hating herself for what she was doing. The other voices seemed to dim just a bit, with Pride's going a smidge louder. "..and all this glare off the snow...I'm so sorry. Just really tired from the trip." she did her best for a weak, pained smile (which wasn't hard) and then massaged her head a bit, trying to assuage the nonexistent migraine. Trying to rub the demons out of her skull.

Oh, Leila, you'd miss us if we left... Pride teased, stroking Leila's face for a moment. Whatever would you do without me?

I'd have a better life, for one.

Leila, you lack the drive to have a better life. You expect it to walk up, strip naked, and present itself to you. Perhaps if you had some initiative, such things could be accomplished... Greed's voice was quickly engulfed with a cacophony of arguments amongst all the voices, making Leila feel like her skull was the site of a localized, relentless war. She did her best to appear normal, cautiously watching the Russian boy, and made her way inside with the group, getting some food and wandering aimlessly. A visibly concerned look on her face, she scanned for somewhere to sit alone...no, that corner was taken by three kids, one of them had an eyepatch, she looked angry, too, that was a bad place. Oh no. Why were things never simple.

The moment Val spoke to him, Drake immediately stopped his search for his father, and his cheeseburger. He then turned his attention on to the newcomer. Valery is obvious Russian from that rather convincing accent (Unless it's forced, or Drake is really easy to convince, hard to point-point). Val is certainly the large from the looks of things, and reminded Drake a lot of himself. Like they were similar in a few ways. He ignored the comment about 'fresh meat' merely because he didn't care, and Val commented Drake's goggles. Drake swallowed the food he had in his mouth, and cheerfully accepted Val's handshake with a smile. "Heh, hey Val, my name's Drake Blackmore, nice you meet ya. And I'm from America. The nice part with all the hot babes and cool dudes." It was a little hard to speak to Val. Since it appeared that he was foreign, but how foreign? Drake didn't know how familiar he is with America. So he tried to speak like Val knew about America, and at the same time, spoke like he didn't. It's all in phrasing. "So, uh, have you heard of one the teachers named Adam Blackmore? He looks a little like me. I'm kinda looking for him, and...."  Drake was close to saying 'My dad' but it was obvious enough already. "... So what do you think of the school so far? I'm kinda glad to be here. Wanted to be here for years, and it's living up to all those sweet expectations..." Drake was a bit scared that it may not live up to those high expectations he's set for the place from all those stories he heard from his dad.

Megan E. Jervious.

Instead of eating with the rest of the staff, Megan watched over the students like a hawk. With a clipboard with random notes in her hand, and walking up and down the Cafeteria like she was actually the principal. Her focus was with the students. She was hoping to find a brand new student to speak with. One that seemed... In need of Megan's assistance. From there she'll probe into the student and learn as much as she can about them.

Not too many caught her eye other than the group in the corner... Something about them just called out to Megan. Like they were going to be the types. However, there is a girl (Lelia) that rather anxiously wandering around the Cafeteria. Something about Lelia just caught her eye, she knew that she'd be the one that gets Megan's attention today. She narrowed her eyes, and approached Lelia, not losing sight of her. She thought of it like she was hunting. An opportunity was presented to her, and will be wasted if she doesn't act now. Once Megan was in arm's reach, she put her hand on Lelia's shoulder, speaking to the girl in a thick British accent, "Hello, deary, I'm Megan Jervious, one of the teachers here." Megan spoke to Leila with a imp-ish grin on her face. A somewhat childish face that said that Megan was up to no good. "I just saw you walking around, and figure I'd introduce myself. Is there anything I can help you with, Miss...?" Megan trailed off not knowing what Leila's name is.

New experiences were always so nerve wrecking and exciting. Merry had never been so far away from home before. And now she found herself in a whole new place and in a whole new environment. She had driven with her family from their house to the docks where Merry would board for the new school. It felt like she was going on to a summer camp, she had been given a pat on her back from her father and a kiss on the cheek from her mother. Her little sister clung to her legs like a starfish, begging her big sister not to go. Merry had been given the opportunity to attend the Academy for many years, but could only get the confidence to accept the offer this year. She thought she was finally old and mature enough to leave her family behind. Merry had given her sister a big hug and promised her she would call her every night and be in touch as often as possible. It seemed to pacify the little girl enough as she released her big sister and returned to their mothers side.

Merry watched her family over her shoulder as she boarded the ship. This time on the cruise ship was her very first time on a boat. And several times during the boarding she was scared someone would tumble off the side. Merry waved to her parents and sister as the ship pulled away from the docks, not stopping until they were out of sight. She finally allowed herself to take in her surroundings, noticing how almost everyone seemed to know someone else. But Merry didn't mind, she allowed herself to coop up on a bench on the ship, entertaining herself with a handheld video game for the two hour voyage. Time seemed to pass by really fast, she only realized they had arrived at the school when the sound of horns and cheering reached her ears.

Arriving on the island was also the first time Merry had seen so much snow. She had seen it in movies and books and video games, but never real life. The area she lived in rarely got more then an inch of snow a year. She shivered, wrapping her arms around herself. She hadn't realized how cold the island was going to be. Hopefully it would be warmer inside. She watched as her fellow students got off the ship, wondering what all of their powers could be. She quietly muttered a 'thank you' to any staff member that greeted her with a welcome. She had listened to the speech with wide, excited, eyes. This man obviously knew what he was doing and it made Merry feel rather inspired. She could only hope that her teachers were as good at riling her up. She couldn't wait to her started.

Once the students began to file out towards the lunchroom Merry got nervous again. The lags thing she wanted to do was sit alone her first day of school. Merry had gotten some food, gladly accepting anything in her stomach at this point, and chose a quiet place to sit down. There weren't any people sitting near her, everyone seemed to have someone to hang out with. But Merry had spotted a girl about her age (Leila) looking around for somewhere to sit. The girl had been stopped by a teacher. Merry smiled, taking a bite hot off apple and wondering what the two could be discussing.

So today was the day, the day that yet another batch of students would enter these halls. The last batch of graduates had moved on, yet he remained. He'd been here longer than almost any student, and over that time has learned enough to have graduated ten times over. But he couldn't just leave, even if he wanted to. Only a select few of the staff know his power, and even then not all of them know it's true implications. However, it was enough that he felt they'd never let him leave. Maybe they'll let me teach here. He thought to himself. It was rather dull attending a school that could teach him next to nothing. This year he'd be a teaching assistant, that was a start. Nonetheless he still had ton of free time. What languages and instruments should I master this year? I should get another on unofficial degree too. Much of his time was spent taking online courses that were free all the way up to getting the document. Unfortunately for him, he didn't have any money, and the academy didn't exactly have a mailing address he could use. Nothing would make him happier than to have certificates to show for his efforts, if they could be called that. Often times he wondered what it was like to have consciously remember things, or study.

His train of thought was interrupted by the door, the new student's had arrived. Seth finished up his perfectly balanced meal and began to walk. He was wearing a dark grey dress shirt, with long sleeves and a collar. Underneath that a solid white undershirt with a v neck. A leather belt with a silver colored buckle held up a pair of black slacks. Upon his feet were a nice pair of formal wear footwear freshly shined. His hair was gelled back in a stylish manner, and a large silver rolex watch completed his look. There were many eyes on him, especially from the returning students. Not something that he particularly liked, but he had learned to deal with. When all it seems that you do is roam the halls and visit teachers people tend view you differently. His gaze wandered around wondering who, if anyone would be rooming with him this year, as well as looking for people to talk to. Towards the back of the cafeteria was a group of new, older students. This was exactly what he was hoping for. The fact that they wanted to left alone was plaintive, and something that didn't bother Seth one bit.

With his hands in his pockets and started off towards them. He caught Johnny's display of anger due to his glowing eye, but couldn't make out their conversation. All the better to head over there. If his powers are tied to emotions we don't want an incident. It wasn't his job to keep student's under check, but if he was in the area he'd have a good excuse. Besides, the likelihood of anything actually happening is slim. Once he got with 15 feet, he took his hands out and flashed a warm smile. "Welcome to the academy, allow me to introduce myself." A quick assessment of the social situation told him that it'd be Jake to shake his hand, so that's who he went for. "My name is Seth." His arm remained out in a gesture of politeness should the other two prove him wrong, but he was rarely wrong. "So what brings you here?" Gabriel's burn marks gave him an idea about her, but the others were a mystery. During this time he was also looking them over for any passive abilities they might be using.

"Drake Blackmore, it is a pleasure to meet you." he guffawed at Drake's line about the hot babes and cool dudes, "My friend, sounds like there's someplace rather than this Academy I should be. But no, this place is good. The students are nice. There's lots of food," he noted, swallowing a roll whole. "The classes are hard, the weather is wonderful, and the ladies are unparalleled," he took a second to pronounce that last word. "Four syllables. English is tricky. It's a good place to be, do not worry." Val, while he was never one to be intimidated by new places or new people, picked up a bit on Drake's apprehension, and was doing his best to set him at ease. He stroked his fledgling beard, attempting to recall who a certain Adam Blackmore was...

"Yes. I think I may have had him as a teacher once. I have trouble remembering because I sleep through most classes. You cannot learn the important things in life in a textbook, my friend! Either that or I am just very lazy, one of the two. But I'm pretty sure I had him. He was good. Thankfully, my particular powers are pretty easy to maintain, eh?" he reached over and tapped Drake's glass, sending a thin layer of frost down the inside and chilling the drink. "Well, one of them at least. This place is good, though, you will fit in fine. My advice is, have fun. If you're going to be stuck on this island for a while, might as well make sure it's with friends, yes?" he abruptly stopped, calling to a girl that was walking behind Drake. "Hey! Sylvia? Why did you stand me up last night?"

Sylvia, with a very confused expression, said she didn't. Val paused for a moment and thought. "Oh, sh*t, I'm thinking of someone else. Several someone elses, actually. Okay, never mind, have a good day." he turned back to Drake, completely nonchalant about the whole encounter-it was as if he had too much energy to be confined to one conversation at once, but was still applying his total attention to all of them. If only Val could apply the same frenzied, happy-go-lucky approach to schoolwork. "So, what part of America are you from? I have only been here, a few other places. Seen a little of New York City when I fly through, but I wasn't a huge fan. So big and crowded! Nobody has time to talk."

Leila Gabrielle Septim

Someone was talking to her. There was a hand on her shoulder (which, surely, would feel Leila's almost painfully hot body heat radiating through her clothing). Leila suddenly felt as if the building was on fire and the earth beneath her was quaking violently and the heavens outside were raining down thunder.

Calm down. Mammon spoke coldly and decisively. Look at her. Closely. Her glasses aren't positioned correctly-she likely doesn't need them. May be using them to lower your guard. Her style of clothing covers up a lot: her gifts may affect her visibly. Perhaps she has scars that she doesn't want the world to know about-something you could sympathize with-

Anger welled up in Leila. You sick f*ck you drove me to that and you stand there-

Leila, vengeful and strong, not in the sense that she had ripped muscles and butch features, but rather just that she radiated raw, primal strength, appeared behind Megan. Wrath-Leila put her hands on either side of Megan's skull and snapped it around a hundred and eighty degrees, sending Megan's body crumpling to the floor. A sick feeling of triumph welled up inside of Leila's gut and she knew she could, if she wanted, she could get all of the rage and the pain and the hurt out by just-

"Oh, um, hello Miss Megan," Leila said, a bit flustered. "Or Miss Jervious...?" She blinked for a second, trying to shut out the hallucinations wavering in front of her eyes. They persisted even with her eyes shut, so she left them open. Damn all of you. We already have been, darling. "Just, uh, looking for a place to sit. Typical new student troubles I, uh, suppose." Leila figured she could've asked about what Megan taught and continued the conversation, but quite frankly, she didn't want the conversation to continue, she very desperately wanted to go and hide somewhere and never come out. She glanced around nervously, spying a girl looking in their direction (Probably wondering what you could have already gotten harassed by a teacher for-oh, Leils, look at how lovely she is, so short and thin, if only you could be that small Envy mused, now checking her hair in a hand mirror nearby Leila. Leila desperately wanted to curl up into a ball, go to sleep, and never wake up.That sounded...remarkably appealing.

It's a possibility Sloth said lazily, taking shape as Leila leaning back on a lunch table, eyes close with a content grin on her face. Just close your eyes and rest. You've earned it. I can take care of the rest.

Just close my eyes...

Madame, you're talking to a teacher, try and focus. Pride hissed, jolting Leila back to reality; or Leila's semblance of it, at least. She blinked again a few times and tried to pass it off with a smile. "Ah, sorry. About to fall asleep standing up."

Drake D. Blackmore

So far, Val was a pretty cool dude. At least in Drake's eyes. Seems like they're going to get along quite well for the duration of their time together at the school. Which is nice since Drake's more interested in making friends than training. "You seem like a real straight shooter; I'll take your word for it." He answers Val, his voice was full of confidence.

The advice that Val gave Drake was going; he was going to have fun. The place was the perfect artic wonderland. Plenty of places to explore, people to meet, things to learn... Until he gets bored of it again and placed in the same predicament as before - Wait, no. Drake brushed those thoughts aside, merely because the more he thinks about it, the less enjoyable it'll be. He did idly watch as Val grabbed his cup. He had utter confidence that he didn't mess with it. The drink was pretty cold now. Ice power? It was hard to pin-point exactly what his power was from guessing. Drake was tempted to tell Val about his power - Except he was going to leave out the part about replication. From experience, people don't respond well to powers like his. "So you're an -" Drake was cut off when Val just started yelling at some chick.

Shade wrote:

"Oh, sh*t, I'm thinking of someone else. Several someone elses, actually. Okay, never mind, have a good day."

Things took a humorous turn, to say the least. Val was basically just yelling at some random girl who he thought had the hots for him. That. That, was funny. So Drake did what came natural to him; laugh his @ss off. He burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter. Laughing like a complete moron for half a minute. He slowed down, a dumb grin still on his face, "Oh god, you have a way with the ladies, Val. You have to give me some lessons." He laughed out. Not serious, he was just poking fun at Val's lady skills.

After taking a second to think Drake answered Val. "Yeah big cities like that are crowded - You gotta leave the comfort zone and leave downtown if you want to find real people to talk to." At first, Drake only answered the last part of Val's statement about it being 'big and crowded'. He was relieved to know that Val at least has some experience with America. Which made the cultural barriers between them all but non-existant. "I lived in a city in Pennsylvania called Black Fall. Cool place. Had lots of beaches and water. But the real fun comes once you get into the meta-population, oh boy. The moment I figured out my power I learned so much about how weird powers can get. And what you can do with 'em. Spent a good chunk of my time beating on the super-powered knuckleheads of the place" Drake answered Val's question, explaining a bit about himself.

At this point, Drake became a little interested about Val's power. Seemed obvious, but there's much more to everything than what he sees. With one snap of his fingers, Drake raised his hand in the air a little bit. A white-green plasma surrounded the very tips of his fingers. The plasma was super-heated, so even a small amount like this can burn like hell if used improperly - Or, if you want to take it to a more sinister level, cleverly. Hell, he could sear someone's eyes shut very easily. Val would feel a bit of the heat. He wouldn't get burnt or anything, the worst that'd happen is that he'd be a little uncomfortable. "So, Val, what's your power?" Drake asked, before quickly adding on. "I can turn my entire body into this stuff, my sister told me it's Super-heated Plasma... I would transform all the way now, but you'd probably come out with third-degree burns and that's not something I like doing. Heh."

Megan E. Jervious.

Shade wrote:
"Oh, um, hello Miss Megan," Leila said, a bit flustered. "Or Miss Jervious...?"

Obviously the girl was very distracted. Megan just sensed it. By what, was the question. She had guessed that Leila had something on her mind - Had she done something to start getting bullied this early;, that would have been strange. Nonetheless, it was her job to interact with the students, and find out what's wrong. "Ah, sweetie, you don't have to be so formal with me." Megan spoke with a jovial tone, "Just to tell you, I am the art-teacher of the school, and one of the power instructors. I train the students that transform - But I can work with any student. I am the person to come to should you need assistance with your... gifts."

Shade wrote:
"Ah, sorry. About to fall asleep standing up."

"Perhaps you need to take a break and head to your dorms for the rest of the evening. You do seem quite tired... Or is there something else that's making you so... out of it?" It was a little tactic that Megan came up with. A less-than-subtle way of asking what exactly is wrong with Leila. Because it was quite obvious that something was up with Lelia. Unless it's all just nothing, and she's just tired from the boat ride. In that case Megan will relent and go find some other student to speak to.

Johnny, Jake, & Gabriela Valos.

"Act natural, someone's coming." Johnny whispered loudly enough for his siblings to hear. Seth was noticed a lot sooner than he would have noticed. Johnny had a constant vigilant eye ready to sense danger at all times. A good part of their position in the cafeteria allowed them to notice people coming from quite a distance. At the cost of making them a bit more noticeable. He was prepared for a fight, should he turn out to be hostile - However, Johnny brushed aside those thoughts. It was very unlikely Seth was going to try and kill them. Especially for no reason at all, and in a room full of people. It'd just be stupid to attack them. Hell, he would have had a better chance if he just blended in with the crowd and shoot at them using the students and staff as a camouflage. That'd be something Johnny would do.

"Oh goody. I'll make him a sweater." Gabe says in a slightly irritated, low tone. She was wondering what a guy like that wanted with them. Nor did she care. She just started knitting (What the 'ell am I doing anyways?) a little faster. Because she had one eye, she unintentionally made one side larger than the other. Something that she'd wish she didn't do, but she didn't care right now.

True Night wrote:
"Welcome to the academy, allow me to introduce myself."

"So what brings you here?"

At the moment, it didn't seem like Seth was hostile, and he spoke like one of the teachers - Probably was one too. Gabe and Johnny weren't threatened at all by his presence. But Johnny was a bit more concerned with picking apart his motives. Johnny knew he's in some sort of position of power, just from the way he walked over to them and spoke. From the looks of it, Seth is subtly asking what they're doing... Which makes the most sense. They're easily the shadiest bunch of people in this room. A guy with some scars that tell people he lost a fight with a polar bear, and a girl with one eye (The only inconspicuous one was Jake). Someone was bound to come over here to check on them, to see if they're up to anything. Which, they aren't (It's safe to say; not yet). So they have nothing to worry about. They'll answer this guy's questions, and send him on his way, and continue as if nothing happened. The problem that Johnny was having was that he couldn't read Seth's emotions. That means that he couldn't just probe into his head and see his true motives... Bleh, hopefully it won't have to come to that.

After accepting Seth's handshake, Jake was the first to speak, "Oh, why thank you for welcoming us."

"Kiss @ss." Gabe quietly muttered under her breath indirectly towards Jake, with a grin on her face.

"These two are my brother and twin sister..." Jake figured that he should be the one to speak to Seth. "I'm Jake, and he's Johnny, and she's Gabriela, but everyone calls her Gabe."

"Nice to meet you." Gabe says, forcing a smile that just ended up looking creepy. Her knitting intensified.

"Yes, I'm glad to make a new acquaintance as well." Johnny says, in a neutral tone. He didn't really care for Seth yet, since Johnny got the feeling that he's only over here to hover over them like they're criminals. Well, we do look the part! He figured that he should head on to another subject. "Why we're here? I can't speak for them. But myself, I'm just a lonesome traveler with one more mile before his journey is complete... I'll be gone soon enough." Johnny didn't have any intentions of staying here too long. After the dust settles he'll be going at it in no time. So, it didn't really matter to him what happens here.

However, when Gabe spoke, the dramatics of Johnny's statement was just sucked away, "... Or he could be asking why we're hanging around in the corner like a buncha weirdos." She spoke in a snarky, yet dismissive tone. Like she gave zero f*cks in general.

"We're in the corner because we... Don't... Uh..." Jake tried to answer the other possible answer soon as he can. Unfortunately Gabe answered the question for him.

"... Cause; we dun' wanna be bothered right now." Gabe spoke in a slightly irritated tone. Indicating a small hint of irritating that was swelling inside of her escaping. "Not that I'm saying you make bad conversation." Gabe spoke to Seth.

Neal Ecclestone

Spoiler:

"No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist." -Oscar Wilde

Neal Ecclestone was in the art department of the Academy, a place where he spent the majority of his days. The art room was very long and the side facing away from the buildings was made out of glass allowing everyone inside to see the beautiful coastline. Neal was standing near the window. He wore his usual grey pullover hoodie and a pair of beat-up blue painter's jeans. On his head was a brown knit cap that covered most of his hair. On the floor in front of Neal was a white rectangular display table. Floating high above this table was a shifting shimmering object that seemed to be made of purple glass. Neal had his hands pointed towards the shimmering purple object and with every movement of his hands it morphed and changed. The statue now resembled a marble Greek pillar, about a foot-and-a-half tall and made of what appeared to be glowing glass. He moved his hands, and the pillar's bottom became rounded instead of squared. He made a "hm" sound, and did the same to the top. The pillar now looked practically flawless, but Neal wasn't satisfied. He sighed audibly and set the pillar down on the table below it. Neal let his hands fall to his side and the pillar stopped glowing. It was now made of a slightly purplish glasslike material. Neal sighed once more and looked out the window. The new students had arrived and the banquet was about to begin. Normally Neal wouldn't go to things like this, but this morning Doctor Black had convinced him to come.

"You need more friends, Neal." Black had said "You can't spend all your time cooped up in the art department making sculptures and then systematically destroying them. It's bad for your health bud." Speaking of which, Neal looked at the column and got angry. It was ever-so-slightly lopsided to the right, but this was enough to warrant its execution. Neal growled angrily and held his left hand wide open. A shimmering purple bullwhip, several feet long, sprouted out of nowhere. He closed his hand around the whip's handle and brought it high in the air. He struck with the whip with a loud "crack!" The column shattered, sending shards of broken psychic matter flying across the room in every direction. Neal cause the whip to dissipate and then made his way to the double doors. A few moments later, he entered the cafeteria and sat down awkwardly, unsure of what to do now. Neal had never been the most social guy, and so he decided to just lean against the wall and wait for someone to approach him. If he approached someone then he was sure he'd c*ck it up, which is not what he wanted to do.

The Doctors

Nearby Doctors MacDonald and Black sat next to each other at the teacher's table. They were having a very in-depth conversation about quantum mechanics and the probability of interbranial travel when the new students began to trickle in. Doctor MacDonald looked up with a pleased smile on his face, though he was rather let down. There used to be hundreds of new students pouring into 218 every year, but now there were only about thirty. He shrugged and stood up, straightening his jacket and pulling his tie up. The tie that he wore was black with green binary code streaming down it like the Matrix. Doctor MacDonald looked around and saw a young girl sitting by herself eating an apple. She seemed familiar, but MacDonald wasn't wearing his glasses so he was unsure.

"I'll be back in one moment Erwin." MacDonald said "I'm going to go and meet some of the new students." MacDonald made his way towards Merry's table and stood next to her, his hands behind his back and his shadow casting over her rather menacingly in the light. He put on his glasses and looked off into the middle distance, the light behind him causing them to glimmer. He appeared as a quite foreboding silhouette.

"Greetings," he said in a very serious voice "I am Supreme Overlord Doctor MacDonald. You may bow." Doctor Black chuckled when he saw that Doctor MacDonald was using his old "evil overlord" card again, and made his way over to the table. He stood across from Merry and rested his hands on the table casually.

"Ignore him." Doctor Black said, smiling warmly "He's being a d*ck again. Welcome to Academy 218. I'm Doctor Black." he extended a hand warmly to Merry, and Doctor MacDonald rolled his eyes playfully.

For a moment his gaze locked on the uneven knitting that Gabe was making, like it was bothering him. This was interrupted shortly when Johnny tried to read his emotions. So his power is somehow related to emotions. "It's my pleasure, nice to meet you too." He replied promptly to the three of them. Johnny made it clear to him that he wasn't content here, and his story made sense. A lack of detail, but he wasn't lying as far as he could tell. By the looks of him he's taking advantage of the academy's hospitality. Let's see how that works for him. At the mention of why they were standing in the corner Seth raised his hands. "You don't need to explain anything to me." The girl is quite temperamental, best not upset her any more. The other's aren't thrilled about me either. He had already knew that they didn't want to the bothered, but he liked to go around and evaluate anybody that stood out each year. Everyone else he would observer in due time. However, his work was done here. "No offence taken. If you want me to leave I will go." With that he backed up and started off towards the teacher's table. Over his shoulder he called. "I'm sure I'll see all of you in class." It was of no consequence to him that this made him seem like an instructor. On his way there, he overheard a conversation about powers going on at a nearby table. His curiosity have been stirred, made him look over. Sitting across from the speaker was somebody that he knew. "Hey Val, nice to see you welcoming our new students." Seth didn't really know him that well, but he knew all the returning student's names. My name's Seth, and you are?" He motioned to Drake. A moment's observation was all it took before he saw the resemblance. "Ah, you must be a Blackmore. I'll be your father's teaching assistant this year."

Valery Arsov

"Ah, yes! My word! I normally try to be honest but am also very clueless. So it's not very reliable." Val grinned as Drake began laughing at his mishap with Sylvia. "Ah, yes. What I lack in charm I make up for with persistence! Stick with me and I will teach you everything I know about women, my friend. Shouldn't take more than about five minutes. The big guy seemed to roll with the punches fairly well, not taking much seriously-which made one wonder what exactly he did take seriously. He listened curiously as Drake talked about Black Fall-it was interesting that there was this city, so full of metahumans. Hm. Val privately thought after his tenure at Academy 218 was over (although, he mused, given his command over winter, perhaps the school could find a job for him here. They say bilingualism looks great on an resume...), that might be an interesting place to check out. As much as he loved the cold, beaches (and, by extension, swimsuits, particularly women's) sounded nice. "Yes. Normal high school experience is already fun enough. Throw in a superpowers along with mood swings and things become a real party, eh?" He was on the verge of asking more about Black Fall when Drake questioned about his particular gifts. Some metas had some qualms about sharing their abilities-Val was not one of them. The Russian didn't have many secrets, and his supernatural talents were not among them.

"Very neat! Yes! I like it!" Val said, eyeing Drake's plasma. "Bahaha, it is a shame you live in a town with so many metahumans. The kinds of pranks you could pull with that..." he grinned and sat back, unconsciously nudging his eyepatch with his hand as he thought about his own gifts. "Mine are simple enough, yes. Winter. I am basically like Santa Claus. I would not worry about giving me third degree burns, but I appreciate the kindness: I don't seem to get bothered by the cold or the hot very easily. It is hard to explain, what I can do. Essentially, it's anything wintry." he frowned, then grinned a bit. "Except it is much more badass than I make it sound. Black ice, hail, snowstorms...and also one time I made a thirteen foot tall snowman. Inside the principal's office. It was worth the detention. I also have, eh, another gift." he tapped at his eyepatched eye. "This eye. Have to keep it covered up, or I start seeing things. Very hard to explain that one, and not as fun as Santa Claus powers. More of a..." he paused, thinking it over. "Gah. I can never pronounce it." he drew on the table with a finger, making the word "clairvoyance" in frost. "That's what they tell me it is. However, I do not like using it. Tends to be a real buzzkill. Ah, looks like some of the teachers are coming out," he spoke, nodding his head towards Dr. Black and Dr. MacDonald. "Perhaps your father is with them, yes?" Val continued eating his meal hungrily but politely, pausing occasionally to gulp down some of his drink or glance at passerbys.

Leila Gabrielle Septim

Leila tried to be polite and jovial as the woman talked with her, but it was difficult. Pretenses were so very difficult these days. Honestly, Lucifer whispered, You shouldn't be worried with what she thinks of you. A petty art teacher is beneath you.

Careful, child. She speaks carefully. Her inflection is practiced. Her words are chosen more precisely than you think to notice. She is a wolf amongst the flock. Greed's advice was, as always, terribly infectious, and she couldn't help but wonder what ulterior motive Megan did have, or if Greed was merely screwing with her to try and get something out of her.

Ah, screwing with you, Leila, isn't that my department? Lust teased, a playful tone to that powerful, masculine voic-

"Ah, no ma'am, everything's just fine, I'm just...new school and all. Really stressed out. I think my dorm would be a very good idea. There's nothing else going on." the lie sounded pathetic, even to her. Leila, love, you do look a little frail. Perhaps a trifle to eat before you go off and be a recluse in your dorm? Gluttony's words seem to well up from inside her core, hollowing out her insides as they went. It wasn't a pleasant sensation.

Once again, those are my realm of expertis- Lust said.

Shut up. All of you. Jesus Christ just leave me alone.

There is an easy solution to this problem. Wrath's voice, seldom heard (and yet when he spoke, the others silenced themselves: he spoke with total authority and focus) in Leila's mind, boomed through her consciousness. These others, even the professors, can scarcely hold a candle to what you can do. There is no need for this. Any of this. You waste your time worrying about friends and dorm rooms when you're capable of great things.

Terrible things.

Wrath Leila appeared before her, eyes burning like magnesium flares and her hair alight with sulfuric fire. The whole building went up in flames around her, the malevolent Hellfire devouring the foundations of the building and setting the winter air on fire. The two are not mutually exclusive. Consider my offer.

Leila blinked again and tried to smile. "I'm really alright, Miss Megan. Thank you for your concern, but I think I just need to lie down."

Merry had begun to zone out, watching the other students and teachers in the cafeteria go about their business in eating. She simply rolled her apples in her hands, not yet taking a bite of the fruit. She wondered what was going to happen next. Would she get some sort of class schedule, or a room mate or maybe she would have to display her powers in front of the other students, maybe that was how they decided who went where in the school. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sudden casting of a shadow on her table. At first she thought nothing of it, slowly moving her eyes upwards to see who was there. And it was truly a startling sight.

"Greetings," he said in a very serious voice "I am Supreme Overlord Doctor MacDonald. You may bow."

This guy obviously meant business. Merry, in a flustered attempt to not make herself look dumb in front of this staff member, practically dropped the apple she had yet to take a bite out of. Supreme Overlord was a rather hefty title to carry, meaning this guy must be important. He was also a doctor, so that was just frosting on top of the long and important title cake. Her first instinct was to bow and avert her eyes, was it rude to make eye contact with a supreme overlord doctor teacher guy? She wasn't sure. But right before she was about to bow another voice cut her off.

Maxx wrote:
"Ignore him." Doctor Black said, smiling warmly "He's being a d*ck again. Welcome to Academy 218. I'm Doctor Black."

This other guy, most likely a teacher as well, must be close to the supreme overlord. Or at least that's what it looked like by his casual language. She glanced quickly up at MacDonald, who was most certainly not a supreme overlord like he had claimed, and watched him roll his eyes. So he had just been playing a little prank on her. Merry felt herself relax a bit, relieved that she wouldn't be attending classes with such a scary character. Her eyes then moved back towards the second teacher, the one who had introduced himself as doctor Black. Merry held back a noise of surprise, noticing he had his arm extended, most likely to shake her hand. She just hoped it wasn't too long of a pause since when he held out his hand and she shook it.

"Thank you sir." She said, taking his hand and giving it a soft shake. "It's a pleasure to be here, my name is Merry Bennett." It was odd introducing herself so formally, maybe this was what being an adult felt like.

"I'm really alright, Miss Megan. Thank you for your concern, but I think I just need to lie down."

That was a lie. Megan knew it, the only problem was that she knew that Leila was hesitant to let out her secrets. Which means that's it might be worse than initially expected - Which made Megan all the more interested. She wasn't the woman to stop either way. Maybe with a little bit of encouragement, she'll open up to Megan. Which required a quick change of tactics. "Alright then, I believe you haven't been given your assigned room, yet?" The plan was to help Leila get her room, then take the time to become the girl's friend, then all of her psychological problems will be poured on Megan. "Come with me. I'll get you all set up at the reception building, then we'll head to the dorms." Megan started taking steps away, motioning her hand for Leila to follow.

Drake D. Blackmore.

Ah, looks like some of the teachers are coming out,"

Suddenly, the plasma on the tips of his fingers disappeared, the air remained hot for a few minutes, until it cooled down. "Cool, you're like Old Man Winter then? Mind if I call you that." Drake was a bit impressed by Val's power... Mostly the cold part then. On a frozen island in the winter, he has the definite advantage. A few advantages that Drake didn't have. Which he could get with one touch. However, he wasn't going to reveal his power replication until much later. "And It's pronounced Clairvoyance." The two of them could make a good team - Heat and Cold combined. Drake brings the burning heat to the table, and Val brings the cold to the table, especially if Val is as heat resistant as he claims he is. "You know, the two of us can make a great team, ya' know? I have hot powers, and you have control over the cold. Like..." Drake drifted off, not having a clue how to continue his train of thought. Fortunately, an older newcomer approached them, and gave him a great subject change.

This new guy seemed to be professional, orderly, more like he's a teacher instead of a student. Which was what Drake believed... Unless being an assistant is something else entirely. Either way, he was glad to find someone who was at least related to his dad. "Heh, I guess you're familiar with Adam? I'm Drake, his son. Well, yeah, it is nice to meet you!" Drake smiled warmly. "I wanted to come here for so long... My Dad told me so much about this place, hey, do you know where he is?"

Amimoore B. Dellamorte.

After a little bit of time at the teacher's table, Amimoore had completed her meal. That was pretty much all she's going to eat, basically. She had little more to do here, since they were either engaged in their own conversations or eating. She'd rather not just sit here awkwardly for any longer. She'd rather find someone to talk to. She quickly got up off the table, and stood straight up. Amimoore walked off towards the exit - She wanted to head back to her dorms for a second. Her prosthetic leg made it difficult to walk at times, but she managed to walk straight enough without falling over. On the way, she had Neal Ecclestone. One of the returning students... Amimoore had a bit of knowledge of a great deal of the returning students - Neal was one of them. She didn't know him personally that well - but; she knew their powers were quite similar, in a way. Amimoore absorbs psychic energy out of people to fuel her powers, while Neal weaponizes his own. There was a bit of opposition between the two powers - But they do say that opposites attract. Amimoore was a bit interested Neal because of his power, even if Neal seemed... Less social. Amimoore walked over to Neal, and spoke to him in a somewhat cheerful tone, "Oh, hey Neal. How are you?" The last thing that she wanted to do was rush the conversation. The best thing to do is take it naturally. "How are your art classes going?"

Leila Gabrielle Septim

"Huh? Oh, no, I don't have my room yet." Oh Christ how am I going to deal with a roommate, I spend half the night-

Sleepy, happy Sloth-Leila, contentedly lying on the table next to a rather happy and vivacious Leila, eating a full portion of food, winked at her. Don't worry about such things. A full night's sleep should be the least of your concerns.

It'd be so easy. Leila's eyelids began to feel quite heavy, and she pinched her leg surreptitiously to try and stay awake. Passing out in the middle of the cafeteria on the first day would be bad, socially. And then the nurses and teachers would be asking questions and oh no.

Careful, Leila. Greed spoke coldly, with no sense of playfulness or mollycoddling to his voice. She is delving for information. Look at the way she asks questions, offers favors for seemingly nothing in return-

A tactic you're familiar with.

Perhaps. It is irrelevant. Our mutual welfare hinges on your going undiscovered. Should she become aware of your mental state...

He seeks to tear you down, that he might build you in his image. Pride cautioned, giving Leila a sliver of self-confidence. Her shoulders arched up a bit. While trusting anyone is dangerous, were they to find out all of your secrets, Miss Leila, then truly would our mutual welfare really begin...

Leila, however, was too over-extended mentally to really focus on any one aspect of the dozens of issues swirling in her mind. So she followed Megan like a docile lamb, perhaps to the slaughter.

Valery Arsov

"Old Man Winter!" Val ran a hand through his greying hair. "Da, I do look the part, don't I? Yes, yes, I love it. Although I need a good name for you...Plasmaman. No. Sh*t. I am bad with nicknames. Give me time." Val grinned when Drake pronounced clairvoyance for him, but brushed it off with a playful shrug. "I appreciate it, but I have accepted my limits in life. Saying that word is one of them. The sounds do not go right. But yes, we would make quite a team, yes? Like the old superheroes in the comic books, yes, yes. We are going to get along very well, Drake Blackmore, very well." he nodded cordially to Seth and gave him a firm handshake, resuming eating while Drake and Seth talked. Teaching assistant? The only job more boring than that would be a full-fledged teacher. He smiled to himself, thinking that if Seth was moving in with "the Man" of Academy 218, he'd soon be at odds with the good-natured Val. Val was banking on a major prank on the new kids by the end of the week. Nothing malicious, of course, just to brighten people's spirits. People, especially teenagers, took life too seriously. Val aimed to fix that, one pulled fire alarm at a time. Having finally cleaned his plate, Val pushed his dishes to the side and listened a bit more closely to Seth and Drake's conversation-he felt a bit full, which was a rarity. Normally, Val's stomach burned through food about as quickly as he could eat it. "Speaking of teachers, I seem to have gone far too long without being out chewed by one. Shouldn't we be getting our room assignments sometime soon?" Val did not seem to pick up on the fact that he botched "chewed out"-while Drake may not know, Val seemed to struggle equally with both the pronunciation of "clairvoyance" and managing to get American idioms down correctly.

Neal

Neal could hear Animoore hobbling over to him from a foot or two away due to her prosthetic leg. She was a girl who he didn't know too well, though he did know that their powers were more-or-less opposites and her father was the Headmaster. The Headmaster was a man who Neal didn't particularly enjoy being around. They guy gave him...bad vibes. Animoore, though, was quite obviously nothing like her father. He smiled halfheartedly when she began to talk to him, but the smile soon vanished when she mentioned art. Neal sighed rather loudly.

"Not very well." he responded "Everything I make these days f*cking sucks. I've destroyed more sculptures than I've made in the past few months. Before, having slight imperfections in my work wasn't really that big a problem, but now everything has to be perfect. I have art collectors from the Guggenheim looking at my sculptures now. More pressure, ya know?" Neal looked up at the ceiling for a second, thinking of something to say. He hated talking about himself, so he decided to turn the conversation around some. "So how've you been Ami?" Neal asked "We haven't really talked in a while. Have you gotten your class schedule yet?" School was always Neal's backup conversation topic, especially since he normally didn't have much else to talk about with people. Maybe Animoore could end up being his ticket out of Black's spotlight. She was a pretty nice girl both personality-wise and aesthetically, plus her power would make her a near-unbeatable enemy. While combat was worthless to Neal, you never knew when the wrong pissed off person would challenge you to a duel.

The Doctors

Doctor MacDonald's serious face broken into a warm grin. He laughed a bit, and then leaned against the table with one arm casually. This girl was the only one who fell for the "supreme overlord" act in a long time. This girl was either really nervous or really gullible, though Doctor MacDonald always gave students benefit of the doubt.

"So Merry," Doctor Black said, letting go of her hand after a shake or two and resting it on the table "if you don't mind me asking, what kind of powers do you have?" MacDonald busied himself by pointing his left arm at a plate of food across the room sitting at the faculty table. It hovered high across people's heads and came to rest on the table in front of him. MacDonald pointed back at the table, and his glass of red wine flew across the room, dodging and weaving through students. It flew into his hand and he took a sip. Some teachers would scoff at drinking alcohol in front of students, but MacDonald understood how the kids really acted. He wasn't kidding anyone. Chances were that someone has a case of beer or the like in their suitcase that will be busted open in a few nights for a wild party.

Seth

Seth accepted Val's gesture and gave him a friendly, equally firm handshake. Then he diverted his attention back to Drake. "The pleasure's all mine. And why yes I am familiar with him." Out of the teachers he had a hard time choosing a favorite between him and Doctor Black. Powers and science were his favorite subjects after all. Neither of them could teach him anything, but he loved to have intelligent conversation with the two anyways. He did however think it was a strange question to ask considering he just said he was his assistant. Something to fill the space before he came up with a response, and making clear what he was thinking about at the same time. "Well you're not going to be disappointed, this academy is the perfect haven for the gifted." The next question Seth saw coming from a mile away. "I sure do. In fact I was heading over there myself since I've finished eating. You're welcome to join me." Personally he hoped that he would, a social experiment if you will. Seth wanted to see how Adam acts with Drake around. Not everybody notices it, but people act uniquely when interacting with different people. When there's multiple people they want around, a balance is needed in order for each party to be comfortable. This was the sort of thing that he was tuned to, and interested in observing. An added benefit was getting some more insight on the man he'd be taking instruction from for the next year.

Merry smiled softly, resting her hands back at the table, and although she didn't make direct eye contact with the teacher she felt confident in answering him. Her father had told her that everyone and their mothers would be asking for her power once she got to the school, and these two teachers were just the first. She was about to answer when she say something move out of the corner of her eye. First it was a plate of food, hovering along above the students. Next it was a glass of red wine, coming to rest in Doctor MacDonald's hand. Outside of herself and her father this was one of the first powers she got to observe. And it just happened to be a meal hovering. It almost made Merry ask how he had done that, but she then remembered she had been asked a question.

"Oh um." Merry started, suddenly really nervous. "Weight manipulation." She suddenly realized that kinda needed an explanation. She was just hoping there wasn't a hidden rule about not using your powers. She quietly picked up the apple she still hadn't had the chance to eat. After giving it a second of thought Merry guessed the apple couldn't weigh more then five or so ounces. "So this apple is pretty light weight, but if I make it lighter, say the atomic weight of helium..." Once she said this the apple began to float out of her palm. However she kept her hands near it to prevent it from floating up to the ceiling. "However, I don't possess any telekinesis powers so I can't control where it goes." She gave it a soft blow, sending it spinning in the air, but still in her reach.

Adam L. Blackmore, Leon M. Vahan, & Carmen 'Lily' Santo.

Outside the cafeteria...

"Look... Adam... You can't do this. I want to be in there! I want to be with them! I want to..." Lily desperately pleaded with Adam Blackmore. Lily was one of the newer students here, and has a little issue with how things are turning out so far. She feared her ability, and feared what would transpire if someone would discover her ability, or if an accident occurred - However, she didn't want to miss out. This is the first she can actually be a girl, instead of some runaway punk. She stood in the snow, wanting to head inside the place to enjoy the banquet, with a face of particular distress. Lily wore a black denim jacket with a dark-grey t-shirt underneath. She had on blue jeans, and black combat boots on her feet. She had on black gloves to cover her hands. Her purple dyed hair standing out against the snowy background.

Adjusting his glasses, Adam had a blank, emotionless expression on his face. He didn't exactly approve of Lily being here to begin with. He tried talking to Dacious about bringing a Meta-human like Lily here... But he insisted that she comes here, to this particular school. Even when there were strong arguments against the decision, Dacious didn't budge one bit. Now here she is, a Meta-human that can make the powers of others go out of control. Dacious may not be the one who has to deal with them, but Adam, and the other teachers are - And he's trying his best to make sure there's no accidents. "Santo, I tried my best here. With a power like yours; this is the best you'll get. You have to be thankful that you're even here - You could have been sent to one of the facilities for people like you."

"But... But..." Lily muttered. "... I don't want to be some loner shut-in... I may be hella afraid of my powers, but, Old Man, I refuse to be their prisoner."

"Look, Santo, you have to consider how much of a risk you are... You could cause destruction like no other. Now head to the reception building, get your room, and avoid all of the other students." Adam spoke down to Lily. He had assumed that she was being rather narrow. She was told again and again that he can't help her, but she still insists on trying. Adam knew that she needed to just accept that she has been given the best deal possible with coming to the Academy. Before he could continue, another voice spoke and drew his attention.

Theme of Leon:

"... Ah, that's just you, Adam. Always giving all these little ladies a hard time." Leon Maddox Vahan chimed into their conversation, walking in slow and steady. He left the Cafeteria to come out here, since there was much for him to say (He's been using his observational powers to spy on the two). Leon wore a grey suit, with a black tie, with a lab-coat over it - Despite the fact he has absolutely nothing to do with labs or science-y stuff. He had sunglasses on over his eyes, except, his eyes glowed brightly through them. A scabbard attached to his waist with a long-sword rested in inside. Leon had a lit cigarette in his mouth, producing a cloud of smoke. He stopped a few feet away from them, forming a bit of a triangle. "Personally, I have a few things to say."

"... Leon." Adam spoke, his face expressionless. He was the least bit amused to find Leon out here. "You were spying on us the whole time, weren't you?"

"Um, Hi?" Lily says, nervous about the newcomer... His sword was especially cause for concern.

"Nah." Leon says sarcastically, "I just saw ya' storm out for some reason, and..." Like he sometimes does, he forgot where he was going to take this statement. So he did what he always did, try to change the subject. "You have to remember, Adam, we have plenty of those - What'd we call them? High-risk? Dangerous? Unstable...? Aw, screw it. What I'm saying is that she's actually no more of a danger than anyone else here is."

"You do not know what will occur if we have one accident... The entire island could be leveled." Adam engaged in an argument with Leon. Adam was quite stubborn, and hard to convince. Especially by people less experienced than he is.

"Heh... What's got you all worried about one little lady?" Leon says, crossing his arms, and an amused grin on his face. Leon looked at Lily, and decided to see how much of a threat she is by himself. A bonus of having the all-seeing Eye. Leon saw into Lily... Saw her thoughts, her memories, her regrets, doubts and worries... All of it. He learned that she's super desperate to keep it all a secret, and not to use it at all. Those motives proved that she's not that much of a threat. Leon shrugged, and turned his head toward Adam, "She's more concerned with NOT using it than anything."

Adam knew that Leon had looked into Lily. An invasion of privacy, but she wouldn't mind. He was still adamant. "Leon..." However, he was coming to realize that he was going to lose this argument somehow.

"If she's here, then there will be some special arrangements, yes? Like we did with the other ones" Leon spoke.

"There are none." Adam says blankly. There were no special arrangements, which is why Adam is taking things into his own hands.

"Really? Looks like the good ol' headmaster is slipping up." Leon says, shrugging. "Looks like we gon' have to take matters into our own hands. Uhhh...." Leon thought for a moment. "Perhaps instead of trying to keep her locked up, we just keep a very good eye on her. Anyone tries to mess with her, we step in." Leon grabbed on to the hilt of his sword and pulled it out a little bit - Revealing the blade. "Ya' know nothing escapes my eye.... It's only fair, you know."

Perhaps Adam was being close-minded when it came to the subject... More worried about the well-being of the students than finding a reasonable compromise. Leon's power did give him the ability to see vast distances, and basically spy on everyone else. "Very well, Leon. I trust you to do your best to keep the school safe." Adam began walking towards, the entrance to the cafeteria. He spoke to Leon as he walked "I'll be heading back to the staff table... If any of you need me." However, he stopped when Leon spoke again.

"... You know ya son was looking for you? He was making nice with Val, and your new assistant, Seth." Very few events escaped Leon's eye. "Seems like a nice kid, with a little tuning, he could become something more."

That reminded Adam that he had neglected to find Drake. Especially since he wanted to talk about a few things. Plus, he was with Seth. Seth was one of the more favorable students, he may be a bit of a kiss up, but still truth worthy. Adam looked forward to working with him. "I will go find him. Thank you..." There was one more question Adam had for Leon. "Quick question: what is going on inside? Any of the more... questionable, students, around?" Adam asked, since he knew that Leon was likely watching everyone at some point.

"Well, there's these three hanging out in the corner, they look shady, but otherwise aren't causing anyone any trouble... Megan's probing into this one girl. Black and MacDonald are talking to the other newcomers... I haven't seen any of the types like Angelica, yet... But I'll keep an eye out."

"Thank you." Adam says before walking inside of the Cafeteria to go find Drake.

"Now..." Leon says, before turning to Lily. He then spoke to her in his usual tone "Guess I'll be watching you for the event... Come inside with me." Leon started walking inside. Before he felt the need to apologize for Adam. "Uh... Sorry about Adam. He's a bit of a hardass, but he has the best in mind for everyone. We could say he was only thinking about the... Uh, needs of the many? Forgettin' about that you're just a kid that wants to have fun."

There was only silence from Lily, she didn't say a word. She was actually glad that Leon was helping her, even though they don't know each other. Which is why she didn't say anything, she didn't want to mess this up. Now that Adam was gone, she could properly thank Leon. "Thank you Leon. So much..." She was very happy. She learned Leon's name from Adam from the conversation they had. She had to say that she was really irked by how Adam treated her like a child that didn't know of the risks, and the extent of her power - Especially because Lily takes all precautions to avoid usage of her power. But, she wouldn't hold it against him. He had the best intentions in mind... Perhaps now that she actually was given a chance, she can prove herself as more than just a stupid kid. Lily followed behind Leon, staying a few steps behind him.

"Now, I think you'll have a good time here. The teachers are great, the food is great... I would trust your gut, though. Don't trust the people you don't like, and stick with the people that are cool." Leon spoke as he walked inside. "And if you don't like a hassle, I would avoid Megan, she's persistent as hell."

"Alright..." Lily spoke as she finally made it inside the cafeteria. She quickly went to the counter and got some food, and a drink... Something tasty, it's been years since she's tasted good food. Then she sat down on a random table to eat. Leon took position on one of the opposite walls, leaning up against it with his arms cross. Still as a statue. Leon used the God's Eyes to observe Lily from afar. His vision gave him a sort of birds eye view over Lily.

Headmaster Dacious.

In the Cafeteria the loud-speakers parroted the message that Headmaster Dacious had for the students; "Hello students; after you are finished with the banquet, you must return to the reception building, and speak to the various members of the staff there so we can get you situated. Tomorrow is when your classes begin, so be up at the crack of dawn."

Amimoore B. Dellamorte.

"So how've you been Ami?" Neal asked "We haven't really talked in a while. Have you gotten your class schedule yet?"

It didn't take Telepathy to tell that Neal wasn't exactly the best right now. Which was rather unfortunate, but Amimoore was a rather caring person, she was going to try her best to help him. She was that way to pretty much everyone. Despite Neal's attempt at a subject change, Amimoore responded to his issues with his sculptures. She tried giving Neal advice, for what it's worth, "Have you tried taking a break? You know, taking some time off and focusing on other things? Then getting back into it after a week or two. It'll do wonders for you if you're stressed about something." Amimoore spoke in a cheery tone, and was legitimate advice. While she didn't know anything about Neal; she wants to. Then she focused on the other question: school. While she was the headmaster's daughter... She's still a student like everyone else here. Just one with a few... benefits. "I've gotten my schedule, I got mine ahead of time..."

Then there was a question that she had in her head. "Uh, did you head off to the reception building and get your assigned room, and room-mate?" She was curious. Usually the staff assign who gets to sleep with who, and the students have zero choice in it - While Amimoore sleeps in a f*cking mansion, and thus, who sleeps with who is largely inconsequential to her; she didn't like that system. Along with a few other things that she didn't like about this place. She thought people should have a choice. Then another thing popped up, "Have you heard of that big arena tournament the teachers are planning?" Of course, this wasn't something that Neal would know since it's mostly a secret. "I think they're going to reveal it after classes end tomorrow. It's going to be great. Plus, it'll fulfill that stupid arena quota we need to graduate."

Drake D. & Adam L. Blackmore

Drake was just about to speak when he sat someone sit down next to himself, gently putting a plate down. It was Adam Blackmore, his father. Immediately he was getting a little excited. Since as of late, he hasn't really seen him too much lately. He smiled warmly, "Dad-" Drake was cut off by Adam.

"... It is nice to see that you've received an invitation to the academy, and accepted it, but I expect you to be on your best behavior. That means that you will not do any show-boating. Pranks. Or fighting people, for whatever reason. Because..." Adam leaned in closely to his son, "... I will be the one to punish you. Slip up, and you'll only be making it harder for yourself." Adam was mostly being visibly hard on Drake because; if he's left to his own devices, Drake will get into plenty of trouble - Even if it's for "noble" reasons, as he called him. Especially in a school for super-humans, where Drake would probably clash with the more ignoble students. There was no one more capable of doing that than Adam.

Then that smile turned into a frown as Drake pulled back from Adam. He rolled his eyes up into his head, and looked around. His buzz obviously killed by Adam. "... Rod-ger." He leaned back and started fiddling with his jacket like a bored expression on his face. He hadn't planned on starting trouble... Mostly because trouble came to him 60% of the time. Drake only really found himself fighting the scumbags that need fighting - Only because he found it fun to put people in their place, and at least he's not fighting everyone. For now, he is going to be docile for a little bit.

Adam's attention then turned to Seth and Val, "Hello Seth and Val." Seth was one of the star students at the school. Little things done wrong, and one of the students that Adam respected the most. Valery, in Adam's eyes, was just another childish kid, pulling pranks and other non-sense. Not exactly on Adam's priority list - But that's a good thing, now he can pay attention to those higher on the list of agendas. Well, he wasn't going to ignore Val. He was nice to all the students - Just a bit condescending when it came to most of them. Adam spoke to Val in a professional tone, "Val, have made any improvements to your gift since the last time you've been here?" It was a simple question. Adam was an instructor when it came to powers, and he always found that students get a bit stronger during breaks. Adam then turned to Seth and gave him a warm smile. He spoke to his new assistant in a friendly tone, opposed to the cold and profession tone he used when speaking to Drake and Val, "And Seth, around one PM tomorrow me, Megan and Leon are having one large training session with a handful of the new arrivals, and returning students. Are you ready for your first class as my assistant?"

Hearing of a training session was something that made Drake feel better. Not because he felt he even needed training; but there he can show off his impressive power to all the ladies. Plus his prowess. "... That actually sounds enjoyable." Drake blurts out.

Megan E. Jervious.

With Leila following her, Megan quickly made her way to the reception building. She walked through the snow shoveled paths of Academy 218, taking occasional glances back to Leila to make sure that she hadn't run off. Because that'd be rather detrimental. After a couple of minutes or so, they arrived in the main lobby. A massive room, one with plenty of columns and fancy paintings, and on the opposite side was the front desk worker. A woman with glasses constantly typing away at her computer. Megan quickly hobbled over to the front desk lady, and leaned in, whispered something into her ear. The lady nodded her head, and got up out of her computer chair, and calmly walked off. Leaving Megan standing there with a jovial smile on her face. After a few minutes, the lady returned with keys, and whispered into Megan's ear again. With that, she went back to the computer and resumed her previous business.

With one odd laugh Megan turned back towards Leila and handed her the keys to her room. Speaking in a cheery tone, in her usual accent, Megan dropped exposition; "Alright darling, your room is room 312 on the third floor of the student dorms, the girl's dorm. Your room-mate will join you soon enough. I won't tell you who, because that's the surprise..." Then Megan realized she was going off track. She quickly spoke to Leila again, "I can escort you straight to your room, if you'd like. Or if you know your way around the school enough; you can go there by yourself"

Adam Blackmore was not a hard man to understand, though his attitude towards his son was less than expected. He chocked it up to the fact that he only just met Drake. Based on what he said to him it made sense though. Anybody who boasted, played tricks and fought with other students was sure to score low with the man. Of course Adam always had the harshest opinion of all the staff. The chances were that Drake would fit in just fine. When he addressed Val, Seth was working in his mind what the response would be. Winter manipulation could have made some progress, but with his clairvoyance it was unlikely. That was the sort of power that he secretly envied, anything that can reveal hidden information. Those type of abilities didn't work on himself, he would almost trade his immunity to them to have one. The ability Mr. Leon has was more to his suiting. Much more powerful, and no special eye required. When Adam got to him, Seth had already stowed away the subject and was ready to respond. "Absolutely. I have a completely free schedule so I can be available all day." It was good to see a training session put together so promptly. He wanted to see what the new students could do more than anything else. Showing off was not something he was interested in. In fact he often downplayed his true capabilities, a tactic that'd give him an edge in the case of real fight with anyone. Seth smiled at Drake's response to a chance to use his powers. I wonder what exactly Adam has planned for us.

Valery Arsov

Val stayed uncharacteristically quiet during Adam's lecture to Drake: Val had, perhaps wisely, decided that getting himself involved in any family's business, particularly the Blackmore's, was a very bad idea. He settled for letting his eye wander off to a passing student, who may or may not happen to be female and attractive. What could he say? Cold showers didn't really work for Val.

He did, however, manage to suppress a cringe: Drake was visibly bothered by his father's callous reprimanding. Poor guy. Who wants to be greeted by their dad like that? Must be something I'm missing here. Val, for a split second, considered using his other eye, but quickly decided against it. Whatever iciness was causing the rift between Adam and his son, well, Val decided he didn't want to know the entire truth of it. Clairvoyance was a beautiful gift, and the strange future/past/present truth that Val could glimpse was incredible, but it was equally terrifying. He had, after a brief binge of using his sight near constantly, learned that ignorance truly was bliss. He saw the looks in the professor's eyes when they greeted school-renowned slacker Valery Arsov, but he was fine with that. There were some things you couldn't explain to people, and how terrible looking at the soul of a dying man or the ravaged heart of a widower were some of them.

"Well, Mr. Blackmore," Val said, a grin creeping onto his face, "It is hard to improve upon perfection, eh? I made some progress, yes. I figured out how to freeze vodka!" Val's tone made it impossible to detect whether or not he was serious; there was equal probability that he considered this a real achievement or that it never happened. "Do not worry about the training session, Drake. Unless your father and his assistant feel like breaking our..." he paused, finding the words, "dynamic duo, yes, up, I think your first training session here will be a very fun one." Val stood up, grabbing his tray and picking up Drake's as a courtesy-Val may have been constantly messing around, but he was pretty kind at heart. The notion that this would likely come off as kissing up in front of Drake's father didn't occur to him. "Looks like we have a very fun and interesting meeting in the reception area. I'll let the Blackmores catch up for a moment, then we can head over there, Drake." Val meandered off, immediately finding someone he hadn't spoken to over the summer and striking up a conversation.

---

Leila Gabrielle Septim

They're talking about you, Leila dear. Envy whispered, sitting on top of the secretary's desk, blow-drying her hair with a hair dryer that didn't seem to be connected to any source of power. Doesn't it sting? Not being good enough. The whispers hurt the worst. Just out of earshot, but loud enough for you to know they're there.

Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. I'm fine.

More than fine. Pride murmured. Leviathan seeks to tear you down, and prey on your moments of weakness to fuel her advances.

As if you are any different.

Leila felt a jolt of anxiety at the mention of a roommate. Somehow that just hadn't clicked with her, that she'd have a...a roommate. Oh. My. This would be...problematic. "Well, I do love surprises," Leila said weakly, brushing some of her hair back behind her ear. She didn't want to bother this lady, but Megan seemed kind.

It is a ruse. She aims to- Greed began, before Leila forced his presence back, struggling to keep her thoughts her own. Megan seemed to be watching out for her, what with calling her darling and offering to walk her to her room. Besides, the odds were she'd get lost on her own anyways-

Wrong. Your faulty sense of direction, perhaps, may mislay you, but ours is something more sophisticated.

-so it'd be good to have a guide. A mortal guide.

Your own Christ warned against letting the blind lead the blind.

"Um, if it's not too much of a bother, if you could show me to my room please. I'm not very familiar with the Academy yet. The school I'm from was much smaller." Which was terrible: because in a small school, there was no escaping it. The whispers that Envy bemoaned. There, everyone-students, teachers, parents, they all noticed how femme fatale, homecoming queen and academic star Leila Septim crumbled. Went from normal, bright and happy one day, to the most violent mood swings the next, cracking a day at a time. Most chalked it up to stress. Leila's stress made other people's stress look pretty easy to handle.

Drake D. & Adam L. Blackmore.

"Great, I'll see you there." Adam says, a bit enthusiastic about the next training session. He wanted to see how the returning students had progressed, and what the new students will bring to the table. Plus, he had a crushing training exercise in plan that'll push everyone to the limits - And help them rely less on raw power, and much more on team-work and strategy. He had a room in the Training Hall specifically designed for it last year.

It was hard to not to be an utter smart-ass to Val, "Yes, glad to hear you've made some progress..." Adam mouths out. Other than being mildly irritating, it was no big deal really. He's come to expect this from people like Valery. However, Adam would prefer them all like Valery. They're much easier to handle than some of the other students.

Despite being recently reprimanded by his Father, all Drake did was smile at Valery. He just knew that he was a friend. He grabbed his (Now empty) cup and raised it in the air, and smiled at Valery. "I'll be seeing you soon , Winter." Drake spoke to Valery. Before placing his cup back on the ground. He grabbed his goggles that were resting on his forehead, then slid them down over his eyes.

With Valery gone, Adam, while he did like him, felt that it was time for Seth to leave too. Since the two Blackmores have a little bit to discuss, and Seth would be nothing more than a third wheel with little place in their conversation. "Speaking of which, Seth. I would like some time to... catch up with my son, alone. We'll be at the reception building soon."

Megan E. Jervious.

"Oh quite certainly." Megan says, grasping her clip-board tightly. She knew that Leila was really hiding something (Something Megan wanted to know), but Leila's trust in her just wasn't great enough to warrant telling. So, she'll have to take the long route, and gain Leila's trust over time. Become her friend. Which should be simple enough if Megan just keeps up that "kind teacher" get-up she's been doing. "Just follow me. I'll lead you straight there." She started walking out of the Reception building, leading Leila along to their next destination. Taking slow, ordered steps out of the building. Occasionally, Megan saw some students she knew and, rather over-enthusiastically, waved at them. The Reception building wasn't too far away from the dorms. Merely for convenience. So the walk there wasn't too long. After another walk, Megan walked through the front doors of the Dorms. She stopped for a moment, and took in a breath of air through her nose. There was something that Megan had to tell Leila. "Alright, Miss Septim, we're in the dorms." Megan pointed towards the right side of the student Dorms. "That is the girl's side. Where your room is. I suggest staying out of the boy's side - Because you certainly don't want to give them the wrong idea, now do you?" While her tone betrayed it, it was a legitimate piece of advice. Some of the nastier students tend to ruthlessly spread rumors. However, there were some uses for rumors. One thing that Megan knew; is that if one were to separate the rumors of who banged who from the good ones, she could learn some things. The kind of things that she actually has use for.

Brushing that aside, Megan started walking deeper into the girl's dorm. Until they arrived at the room Leila (And her room-mate) have been assigned. Megan pointed at the door, beginning a long stream of exposition, just to tell Leila a few things, "This is your room, don't lose the key! Now, darling, I suggest that you take this time to... familiarize yourself with the school. Because first thing in the morning; we'll expect you to be up and ready for class. If you prefer to interact with your other students, I'd suggest heading to the student lounge. Which is on the ground floor near the entrance. Now, I have business to attend to elsewhere, now, tata. Need anything and just come ask." Megan started walking off back towards the Reception building. Not that she was actually needed there, the people working there are more than capable of handling everyone there, Megan just wanted to meet more of the new students. But, she was certain that she'll come around eventually to go check up on Leila.

Jake V. & Gabriela M. Valos.

After the banquet had bored them, Gabe and Jake simply left, and headed for the reception building like the speaker said to. They walked together. Gabe doing the usual and throwing death glares at just about everyone who stared at them and star whispering. There is one thing that always pissed her off was when people whispered about her. Her... injuries, are often discussed behind her back. If ya' gonna talk sh*t then ya best do it to mah face. That way I can break yours! She thought to herself with a pleased grin on her face. There were few that could consistently take her lasers. With Jake at her side, she walked to the reception building. There were already a few people there that were just at the Banquet. They too were trying to get a room then they would just relax until classes start. Which was definitely not something that they were looking forward to. They had walked up into the building and just walked over to the front desk lady. Gabe leaned up on to the desk, placing her elbow down on it. Before Jake could say anything, Gabe was the first to speak, "... 'Ey, pretty lady, we trying to-" She would have continued if she wasn't cut off.

"... We want our rooms, please." Jake says, cutting off Gabe, and putting it simply. He didn't want to waste a large amount of time right now, so he just cut to the chase. "For Jake and Gabriela Valos."

The desk lady nodded and walked off to go get everything they need.

"I was getting there..." Gabe just says, crossing her arm, and looking directly over her shoulder at the group of three not too far back (Lily, Sage, and Leon) that had caught her attention. She watched them for a few moments. One was obviously a teacher, and walked around with a bloody sword on his waist like this was the middle ages (He must have SOME ability to make that sword worthwhile...). Then there was the girl, with purple hair, she honestly looked scared out of her mind, worried about something. Finally, there was one person, a boy-girl-whatever, she hadn't a clue what gender it was. It brought her a little bit of amusement, her frown turned into a smirk. Hah, they must have a nightmare with decidin' where to stick that thing. Then that smirk turned into a frown once Gabe realized something. Her gaze turned forward again. "Eh, hope I don't get no weirdo as a room-mate. Hate to have to torch her."

With a quick gaze around, Jake looked at everyone in here. They at least looked normal. But he doesn't know about what counts; a person's mind. Anyone in here could be an irritable psychopath. "Yeah... Let's try not to get anyone's bad side anytime soon."

"You've got it all wrong, brother! They get on our bad sides. And that's when they start having problems." Gabe says, with a forced jovial tone. In her eyes, Gabe rarely does anything to antagonize anyone.

That's when the front desk lady came back, and handed them both the keys to their rooms, with a note that told them who their room-mates will be. They both walked off to the side to read the notes telling them of their room mates.

"Leila Septim...? Who the flyin' f*ck is that?" Gabe says, raising an eyebrow.

"Neal Ecclestone... Like Bernie Ecclestone?" Jake asks no one in particular.

"Great we got to room with weirdos." Gabe says aggressively.

"It's way too early to say that..." Jake tries to reason with Gabe.

"Ya' can just tell from their names." Gabe says, with a sarcastic smile on her face.

Sage L. Pimm, Leon M. Vahan, & Carmen 'Lily' Santo.

So many people here... I should... Stay out of sight. Sage thinks to itself as it stood in the corner of the Reception building. It hadn't received it's keys or gotten acquainted with a room-mate. Which was something that it didn't like doing. It preferred staying by itself... But that was. Sage actually was a shy person that tended to shy away from social contact. It liked staying in the sidelines... Out of the spotlight - Which was hard given it's powers. Whenever Sage was around, all lights start getting really bright, and shiny surfaces got even shinier. Thus all lights in the room were shining brightly on it. Like a big old sign on it's head asking for attention. Sage squinted, and slowly turned it's eyes towards the nearest light on the side. Putting it's arm out in the way. Right now, Sage considered turning invisible, the best way to be out of sight. Until someone spoke to it.

"Pimm? Huh. Heard you returned." Leon says, walking up to Sage, with a blank expression on his face, and his sunglasses suddenly shinier. Thanks to Sage again. Leon was one of the teachers that knew Sage quite well. As it was one of the returning students at the school - That was often bullied for it's gender identity. That was until Sage fought back hard. It ended there, but Leon was more than certain that Sage wouldn't return after that. Leon saw into Sage several times. So he knew that it stayed out of trouble, and it's motives were always pure, at best. Then Leon remembered that Lily was close by. "Oh yeah. This is one of the brand new students, Carmen Santo." Leon says, figuring that he should introduce Lily.

Not having an utter clue what gender a person is rarely hindered Lily anymore than her aversion to other Meta-humans normally would. Because of the slight boost that Lily's presence gave Meta-humans, the bright lights got even brighter. Lily put her arm up and tried to block the light from getting into her eyes. "Hi... Damn it's bright."

This was strange, suddenly when these two walk up, Sage felt strong, stronger than it normally would. "Um, my fault..." Sage apologizes. "That kinda happens when I'm around, so..." Sage felt rather awkward.

So far this entire conversation was rather.

Valery Arsov

I will let them have some father-son bonding, yes...seems like they may need it, eh? Oh, Danielle, I haven't seen-no,wait, not Danielle, don't say anything, keep walking. Heh. Valery, whistling to himself, walked through the cafeteria, passing by where Drake and Adam were. He paused for a brief moment to say, "Ah, I'll see you in the reception hall later. Mr. Blackmore." he nodded his head with a semblance of reverence, which, from Val, one could never know if it was genuine or not, and went on his merry way. Val, wearing t-shirts and shorts in the snowy weather of the Academy, moved towards the reception hall, where presumably he'd get his roommate for this year. Val was pretty good with his roommates. As long as they were cool with the thermostat in their room not really working so well, they got along great. Val might've been a people person, but he knew when to cut it off and give people some space. Sometimes.

As he approached the reception desk, he broke into a huge grin. "Ah, be still my heart!" Val laughed, seeing an eyepatched girl holding her room assignment. "Finally, someone else without depth perception. Are you two new here? I do not remember seeing you around before." Val, grinning like a fool, salt-and-pepper hair messy from where he'd run his hands through it, stuck out a hand for a friendly shake, not caring which one of them did. "Valery Arsov! I am Russian, if the accent did not give it away." He quickly turned to the reception hall and asked for his room assignment before reverting his attention to these two new kids. Another monocular student, what were the odds? He'd finally have someone to go as a pirate with him to the school's Halloween party in a few months. Ooh and I could get shapeshifter to go as a parrot...this is perfect.

---

Leila Gabrielle Septim

Well, Megan certainly seemed kind. That...that was lovely. Leila, mistakenly or not, felt like kindness was running low in the world these days. Of course, having the demonic personification of rage trapped inside your skull tended to leave one with that perception.

Leila, darling, you didn't eat anything down at the cafeteria...won't you be just a teensy bit hungry? A pang of hunger, which she knew wasn't real, was just in her head, but felt real nonetheless, swept through her stomach, and gave Leila a moment of genuine confusion as to whether her stomach growling was real or merely another hallucination. Shut up. I'll be fine. I...

You need to miss some meals, anyways, honey. You've let yourself go. No. No that's not true I'm fine no I'm more than fine I'm damned good-looking Leviathan-

Indeed you are, milady. Their heads will be turning left and right- Ugh! No, okay, not that good looking, f*ck-

Do you want their eyes on you, Leila? Do you want the warm touch of their hands, do you want to see the look n their eyes, and know that you're the only thing in the world that matters to them? It can be done...

ALL OF YOU SHUT UP!

Leila snapped back to reality around the time of "wrong idea" and smiled conspiratorially. "Oh, yes, that would be dreadful," she said, not entirely sure of what she was agreeing to."

The woman was warning you not to go over to the boy's dorm lest you give off the wrong impression of your sexual promiscuity.

The only wrong impression of your sexuality, Leila, is a nonexistent one. Your first night here, wouldn't it be a shame to spend it alone...

"Oh, okay," Leila said, hearing that Megan had business in the reception hall. The reception hall...she'd been in there, hadn't she? Didn't they come through there...and they had come here on a boat, right? "Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. See you around." Leila opened up her dorm and went inside, closing it back behind her. She slunk down to the floor and buried her face in her hands for a second, resisting the urge to scream. People would hear. People would ask questions. She hated questions...hated the way people had looked at her, at the old school.

Ignore their looks. A tiger doesn't concern itself with the opinion of rats.

Well maybe I just want to be a rat.

Leila crawled up off the floor and into bed, settling down to sleep before remembering people typically didn't do that when fully dressed. Standing back up, she began taking her clothes off to slip into her pajamas, struggling with things that required active concentration like buttons or zippers or bra clasps. It wasn't going to be a fun stay, here at the Academy, she was sure of it.

Seth

"Very well." Seth responded as he back up from the table. He would have liked to stay and listen, but that was something that most people didn't appreciate. In any case he'd been asked to leave, and so he would. One he pulled away from the table he immediately looked around for somebody else to visit with. His eye's wandered back to the Blackmores, he could probably listen from a safe distance to them. No. Eavesdropping publicly will get you nowhere. That reminded him Vespera. The likelihood that the let her leave was slim, so that meant she had to be around somewhere. Huh if she wasn't using her powers I'd have noticed her by now. Either she's already been to the reception building, or she's somewhere most people wouldn't think to look. His immediately went up towards the ceiling. Can't be sure. There was some shadowy spots that she could be hiding in. By now he was sufficiently distracted from Adam and Drake, so he took the opportunity to leave for the reception building. Once inside he stopped in front of the desk and wordlessly received his room assignment. Guess we'll be spending some more time together Drake. In the same room a conversation between Leon, Sage, and a new student spiked some curiosity. The two who'd been standing in the corner back at the dining hall were present as well.

Vespera

It was a bad day for Vespera. The beginning of yet another year at the water surrounded prison. She entered the banquet to get her special meal and quickly get out. While she loved to get all the latest dirt, and see how the competition has improved it was just too crowded. If I had arrived earlier I could be up there watching everyone. Then rises the problem of getting down without being seen. Other than that her meal was something she didn't enjoy explaining. It was more of a bloody milkshake than real food. It is quite repulsive to most members of the academy, and she didn't want that type of attention. On her way out she passed Seth, who was indulged in a conversation with Adam and a new student. She hated that man, so she left without saying a thing to her friend. Not that she felt betrayed, but because she didn't want to possibly be address by her least favorite teacher. She'd get in spying starting tomorrow, for now she just wanted to get her room.

I really hope I don't have a bothersome roommate like last year. The last person paired with her didn't respond well to extra gloom and spiders. Both of which Vespera creates a lot of. Ever since she'd arrived her room had always been a hot spot for the islands arachnids. Most of them transported herself, due to the freezing temperatures. A partial use of her inner darkness would make her side of the room permanently shadowed for the year, but not too dark to see. She made haste to the reception building not wanting to be bothered by anyone, and hopefully getting to the room first. The listing she received from the counter read. Angelica Meyers. I hope somebody is in for a surprise. With that she headed off to her room and slipped inside a couple minutes before Seth entered the building.

When Val walked up; Gabe's eye was solely focused on him, giving him a venomous death glare. She quickly brushed her hair back, and crossed her arms. He looked like an utter jackass the way he grinned and spoke to them. Gabe was a very judgmental girl, very easy to get on her bad side. Thus she hated the very idea of even interacting with him. Thankfully; going off his little introduction his name is neither Neal or Leila, so that means all they have to do is send this fool on his way and they'll be finished. Don't really have to worry about depth perception when ya' trying to hit a big target... She thought to herself. ".. Be careful, or you'll lose that other eye of yours in the blink of an eye..." Gabe says, under her breath so all it sounded like mumbling. Trying her best to avoid any conversation with this buffoon - Thus, she was going to let Jake do the talking.

"Hey, name's Jake Valos." On the other hand, Jake shook Valery's hand kindly. He was always much more social than Gabe was, and never judged anyone until he got to see their colors. Plus, he was used to such people - In fact, he welcomed such people. In any case, if Val turned out to be a pest, then Jake will (Subtly) get them both out of here using his illusions before Val even figures out anything. "Yeah, we are new here. We just got our rooms... Could probably use some directions." Jake then looked around. Realizing that they have not a clue where's what. It was nice knowing where the dorms would be. There's probably signs around, that'd direct them. He'd figured that he'd change the subject, "Um, we're just here to, you know, perfect our abilities and all that. Even though I'm pretty good at my power already." For a moment, Jake peered over to Gabe.

The mess hall was too loud and certainly much too crowded. Especially considering this being his first day here... it isn't often he gets sent away from his family, and this place was as peculiar as it got to him. Had he stayed in traditional school, he would be able to take this in much greater stride. This was, unfortunately, not the case. It is a rare occasion for Jesse to find himself submerged in an ocean of his own age group, give or take a couple years. He likely would've come here when he was much younger were it not for the subtlety of his ability - however they managed to discover him was beyond any man's ability to reason, but it provided him an escape, as well as reassurance that he wasn't crazy. That his visions was something to be proud of, though that might take some convincing. The apparitions were nerve chilling, and only he could see them. He hadn't even told his mother after a year or so of it first cropping up out of fear of being sent to the crazy house. His history regardless, Jesse was too nervous to eat. He could feel his stomach twisting about. So when the intercom finally buzzed throughout the building, Jesse was relieved to get the last bit of registration done and over with before the start of the academy's school year.

He went with the flow of the crowd for the most part - blending in was easy for him, nobody really noticed him. He dressed modestly without expensive clothes, and the only thing that stood out from him was the long hair on a nearly grown man. When following the flow, as he put it, was simple. Move at the same pace as everyone else. Fill in the gaps. Ignore everybody. Be the filler, the background character and nobody notices you. He damn well had it down to an art form. Jesse was also burdened with some of his possessions: a rectangular computer bag, the strap of which slung over his shoulder and across his chest, and a fat, black duffel bag stuffed until it seemed ready to burst. It was quite the heavy monster too, so he had the strap of that one over his other shoulder, and he carried it by the handles as well for additional support. These bags messed with his mantra of not being noticed a bit, but hopefully nothing would come of it.

Jesse was rather successful in that endeavor, maneuvering his way through the crowd until the reception desks came into view. The longer he was here, the less peculiar this place seemed. Nobody appeared to be showing off their abilities or appeared particularly out of place so far. He figured this placed was fill with a bunch of people like him. That made blending in easier. He thought he caught a glimpse of a guy with an eye patch, but shrugged it off as nothing. Probably some weird illusion or trick his eyes played on him, or fake one this kid was playing with. No biggy. He could consult some of the apparitions floating about, but Jesse really wasn't interested in skulking about and learning about how many actual weirdos are in the school. And, frankly, he wants to minimize his interactions with those... things.

One thing was for certain though. This one tall guy stood by the sidelines and his eyes seemed to glow through his sunglasses. Could it be a reflection from the light or... no, his eyes were definitely glowing. That should probably be expected though, right? Of all these people, one ought to have weird eyes. Hell, his own eyes were luminescent under the right conditions. Especially under black light. Weird side effect of his own ability. Regardless, the man appeared to be a grown man. He probably worked here. With him seemed to be a punkish-looking girl and an androgynous looking person. Which was fine, he didn't judge. Jesse inched a little closer to the edge of the crowd  out of curiosity. The small gathering didn't seem to be much more than people greeting each other outside the large crowd. The older man appeared to be escorting the girl; the girl who, Jesse noticed after getting nearer and was promptly taken back by, was actually rather pretty. It took him a moment for him to find himself staring and went into a short panic mode before looking away and continue to move on with the crowd, trying to force away the red that had flared up across his face. Real smooth.

She probably didn't want to be friends anyway. First day was way too stressful for everybody anyhow. And he also felt bad for staring. It made him feel like a dog, a trait not welcome in most men. He should focus on his time here at the academy and less on the people around him. Talk about self-fulfilling isolation, right?

Jasmine

Spoiler:

Jasmine Chang was not at the reception in the cafeteria. As a matter of fact, when she got off of the boat to start her third year at The Academy, she immediately turned away from the rest of the group, got her roommate and room (which were both the same every year thanks to some computer magic) and headed up to her room. She was now standing at her window with a mug of vanilla bean coffee in her hand, staring down at the people below like a king observing his kingdom. Jasmine’s room was just as she’d left it: meticulously organized with not  a single speck of dust out of place. The room was a perfect square with a large tinted bay window on the other side of the room that revealed a perfect view of the South Wing and the sea. Next to that window was a large mahogany bookcase that rose to the ceiling. It was filled with Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie books, as well as a set of Harry Potter books and an anthology of Edgar Allan Poe. Next to that shelf was a nightstand on which sat a modern-looking silver lamp and next to that, her bed, the navy blue covers neatly made and the silver pillow fluffed and inviting. Across the room from the bed was a flatscreen television and to the left of that, next to the window, a sturdy desk on which sat a slew of scientific instruments (microscopes, bunsen burners, etc). To the right of the television, in the corner, was a small kitchenette with a grey marble counter, a few cabinets, a refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, a cappuccino maker, and a coffee machine. In the cabinets was an assortment of different kinds of coffee grinds and tea bags, and in the refrigerator were a few bottles of vanilla coffee creamer (which Jasmine had brought with her). The room was essentially her base of operations where she spent the majority of her time. Some would find these accommodations lonely and far too solitary, if it weren't for the other bed a few feet to the right of Jasmine's. This bed, of cours,e belonged to Jasmine's friend Mel. Mel was more or less Jasmine's only friend. The two of them were brought together by the inexplicable fact that they both hated the majority of humanity and were both far too intelligent for their own goods.

Speaking of which, Mel should have already been there. Jasmine produced her white iPhone from the pocket of her trench coat and sent a text to Mel.

"Mel,

I am in need of your assistance. Please come to our room when convenient for you.

If not convenient, come anyways.

-J"

Jasmine shed her black trench coat and walked over to the closet on the opposite side of the room, where she neatly hung it up, leaving her in a ruby red sweater and a pair of black slacks. She then tossed her phone onto her bed and flopped down on a black leather recliner that sat at the desk without spilling a single drop of coffee. It was a fine art that had taken Jasmine several years to learn to properly do without bathing whatever she was wearing with large burning black stains. She spun the chair around so that she faced the window and stared out at the ocean, watching the waves lap against the rocks. She supposed someone could describe it as "peaceful" and "relaxing".

The Doctors

"Oh neat!" Doctor Black said when Merry told him her power "I think you'll enjoy this school very much, Merry. We have training programs for all students so that they can learn to master their powers, and our academic programs are spot-on." Doctor Black heard the announcement, and exchanged glances with MacDonald.

"Well then Merry," Doctor MacDonald said with a warm smile on his face "you'd best be off. I wish you the best of luck this year, my minion!" He saluted jokingly and Doctor Black walked away, chuckling at MacDonald's antics.

Neal

"Oh cool. So I get to beat the F*ck out of a bunch of random kids I've never met before. That sounds like fun." Neal laughed at his own joke and then heard the announcement asking students to get their dorm numbers.

"Well I'd better go find out what weirdo they're making me live with for the next year." Neal mused "It was nice talking to you Animoore. We should hang out more often." With that, Neal stood up straight and walked out of the cafeteria doors and to the reception building, where he took the card with his room number of his room and the name of his roommate; Jake Valos.

Quote :
"Neal Ecclestone... Like Bernie Ecclestone?" Jake asks no one in particular.

"Great we got to room with weirdos." Gabe says aggressively.

"It's way too early to say that..." Jake tries to reason with Gabe.

"Ya' can just tell from their names." Gabe says, with a sarcastic smile on her face.

Neal looked up suspiciously for a moment, slightly offended by Gabe's remarks. He didn't want to start off on the wrong foot with his roommate, though, so he decided to turn it into a joke.

"Actually more like Christopher Ecclestone." he said rather nonchalantly, turning towards Jake "I'm Neal, your roommate, and I suppose I am pretty weird. Yet again, metahumans have never been classified as normal."
