| Also, would it be too far fetched for me to say my mechanic character also has some skills in piloting and driving military vehicles? like if they needed a really fast pilot she could fill in? | |

| I'm not shade, but I wouldn't say it's far fetched. I say go ahead and dual specialize her in driving and fixing. In fact, a higher mechanics skill might allow you to operate vehicles better. | |

| As for the hierarchy, I'll have the OOC as an unofficial place for you all to discuss squad movements and actions in general, so we don't have to waste sixty IC posts on the same. However, as far as the hierarchy, I'll defer to you all how you want to arrange it-given that I doubt we'll have enough infantry characters to make two squads necessary, you'll probably all be members of the same squad. Whoever has the best stats for being leader/most experience will take charge, would be the simplest way of resolving it, methinks.
And not far fetched at all. Could potentially be a pilot in their off-time, just as a recreational activity. Obviously, they're not going to be taking F-22's out for a Sunday flight but you get what I'm saying.

| I'm not calling any dibs or anything, but Baron's history kind of depends on having been with the Dreadnaughts for a while now, given how he was a PoW for six months or so. | |

| Also, if you could make me a mod, Belroth's successor, give me your credit card and social security number...
But yeah, I was just throwing an option out on the table. He has experience and he's charismatic, so he's a viable choice if people want to choose him.

| Definitely. Only question is to what extent he'll be working as a deep cover agent/sweet-talking his way through places, which isn't conducive to bringing a large group. If he's more focused on direct combat, I could see that working out very well for him-but if he's going to be off doing his own thing, wouldn't make much sense for him to be leader.
Also, I can scan through people's sheets if anybody's done theirs already.

| True, true. If anything, I could just use his charisma powers to sweet talk the leader to do what I want. | |

| Even better. Or, more benevolently/boringly, he could simply be "team dad" or the one they just instinctually feel better around. That's drifting more into the field of Wisdom than Charisma, though. | |

| So, thus far, if my count is right, we have a grenadier, a sniper, a medic, a...sh*t, how do you classify Baron...combat psychiatrist...a mechanic, and...? | |

| Demoman, Sniper, Medic, Spy, Engineer... now we need the Heavy, the Scout, the Pyro, and the Soldier. | |

| I'm not really concerned about the leadership things, as Ivan won't be passing any charisma checks anytime soon. So does Baron fight? Because from the looks of it, we only have three soldiers now (four counting Al's sniper). We're probably going to need more infantry than that (especially considering that DB's character could be in the unlucky position of helicopter pilot right now and one is a medic [I don't know if medics fight or not]). I'm considering making a second character, but (a) I remember this rp the first time as being very hard to get through with two characters (all.those.checksssss.) and (b) even then that would be three/four soldiers. I can't build an army and I doubt shade will have a character besides Belroth (since he's the game master in this). | |

| F*CK YEAH JAZZ TURN UP GIRL
Medics do fight. I believe, by the lame-ass guidelines of the Geneva Convention, they're not supposed to. However, in the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the US/other nations have found that delineating who your medics are just gets them shot by the insurgents, so they dress and carry weapons like normal soldiers, fighting whenever they're not stitching their bros back up. As for mercenary groups, I am pretty sure the Geneva Convention doesn't apply, so medics can do whatever they want, however, I could be wrong on that. I'll probably brush up on international law as it pertains to PMCs on an as-needed basis.
A few more infantry soldiers would always be great. The only characters I'll have are Belroth, Maria (the Dreadnaughts' "tech support", she runs the communications center and relays intel to the Dreadnaughts in the field. Essentially, she's a channel for me to give you advice and link communication between the various groups) and the boss characters. If we have one sniper character, it would make sense for us to have a spotter (they would each be capable of acting as the other role; in real life, snipers and spotters trade off periodically to avoid fatigue). However, the more infantry the merrier. That being said, I don't want people to feel forced into that: play as whatever you want, and we'll try to make it work.

| I thought about big Constitution man with some Strength to complement, which might be good infantry, though probably not super good at aiming. I also thought about a Jack of Trades, master of none. Typical infantry soldier. But as for their actual characters, I haven't thought about that at all. Except that the jack of trades would be called Jack Albert Trades, Jack A. Trades - "Jack All Trades". Because I'm a loser. These would be secondary characters. Baron all the way. | |

| Big hoss could potentially handle a SAW or another suppressive fire/"spray and pray" weapons. Don't need to be accurate when you have enough bullets-seriously. I can't remember the exact statistic but they shoot around 10,000 bullets for every one that hits in Iraq. If you had a character that essentially just laid down suppressive fire (and then punched stuff that got close) he could have a good effect on enemy Morale/Marksmanship/etc. | |

| It took 250,000 bullets to kill one Iraqi insurgent. This was because the recoil from modern guns causes them to jerk up after the first bullet is fired, making bullets whizz over people's heads. Yup, that's irl for you. It's also why US soldiers in Afghanistan are ordered to keep their guns on three-round burst unless they are surrounded (except special ops, because nobody tells a SEAL what to do). | |

| Well, the bullets keep going over the head, why didn't they just aim lower? | |
