.:}{The Fourth Barrier}{:.

…In most forms of writing, theater, and television, the definition of the Fourth Wall is described as the imaginary barrier between the characters in the story and the audience, reader, or viewer. The term was largely derived from the traditional three-walled box set found in a theater, which sometimes included an arch that indicated where there would have been a fourth wall to complete the room. The term grew to refer to the concept of realism in a story, which frequently included that the characters were unaware that they were being observed. In addition to this concept, the act of a character speaking directly to the reader or audience became known as ‘breaking the Fourth Wall’ and was known as a form of meta-fiction, as it broke the boundaries normally allotted for a story. Although the concept of breaking the Fourth Wall is often used in more light-hearted, humorous stories, one cannot help but think that if the characters in a story realized that they had been created by some author or writer who intentionally threw them into a situation they disliked, that they would be distraught by the revelation.

With these concepts in mind, the most powerful force in a story is, in reality, not any visible element, but the writers themselves, who for the purpose of having a more interesting title, will be referred to as Wordsmiths. These Wordsmiths, regardless if they write a story by themselves, or with the aid of others, often remain unseen, hidden away in their own respective realms, but somehow managing to collaborate and converse as a group, perhaps meeting in some distant, neutral place. Taking inspiration from the true world from which they originate, they form the setting of the story, create a plotline to follow, and also create the characters on which the story will focus. It is often the Wordsmiths who determine when a character the story focuses on lives or dies, is injured, or when they unknowingly wander into some event that causes the plot to progress. Although they are not, in reality, divine beings, for all that they make is based on something that they have already seen, they are almost an equivalent to the deities that one frequently finds in concepts of polytheism, as far as the characters in their stories are concerned.

Wordsmiths, compared to all other things in their stories, are for all purposes invincible and all-powerful. They cannot be harmed by blades, explosives, bullets, poison, or any other method concocted to either injure or kill them; they could take on any form they choose, and could be the same size as a human, or giants that would rival even the largest of fictional Japanese monsters. In addition, they are also not bound by natural laws in their stories, and as a result, they can do things that may be deemed impossible; if a Wordsmith wished to, they could walk on the side of a building, without even the slightest indication of how they are sticking to the sleek glass windows, and while the wind may be blowing from the south, the Wordsmith could look as though they were affected by wind blowing from the north. They could make trees that looked as old as a thousand years grow from a seed in a split-second, and they could make smoldering ruins repair themselves until they looked like brand-new buildings. Much of this is largely attributed to the fact that the Wordsmiths created the universe in which the story is set; the universe of the story, somehow sensing the beings responsible for creating it, has a completely different set of laws regarding the Wordsmiths than for what it has for all other things.

With this taken into consideration, however, what the Wordsmiths generally control is aspects of what they focused on; the universe they create will automatically form all other aspects that are not specified, and as a result, events such as storms may occur on the other side of the planet the story is occurring on, unless the Wordsmiths concerned themselves with preventing it. Traditionally, these automatic occurrences do not cause any problems, and most strange events happen when there are conflicts between two Wordsmiths, or if one Wordsmith happened to change their mind on a certain event, and had the chance to alter it. Although there are occasions when a previous event can be ‘Edited’, changing what happens is not always an option, and this especially applies if another Wordsmith adds to the story before the Edit can occur; in these cases, it is often too late to change the turn of events. One has never taken into consideration, however, that while the Wordsmiths work in one part of their vast universe, that the universe may have also automatically generated things of equal power to the Wordsmiths, in order to maintain its integrity when the Wordsmiths were not actively present, or merely because it always does so, and the Wordsmiths do not recognize it. Whatever the reason, these beings that it may have produced would likely follow laws that are similar to the Wordsmiths, and therefore, they are not only invincible compared to all other things in the story universe, but they are also capable of harming Wordsmiths, and likewise, Wordsmiths are likely the only things that can harm them.

Due to this disturbing idea, one cannot help but wonder what would happen if these hypothetic alien forces created by the universe, possibly in order to control it, which may normally ignore events that the Wordsmiths focus on, were to suddenly become interested, and attempt to interfere for whatever mysterious reasons…

Burgon, often referred to as ‘The City of Wealth’, is frequently regarded as one of the most prosperous places on the planet, serving as the hub for a vast number of corporations, the most prestigious among them frequently choosing to place their headquarters somewhere within the city limits. Having accumulated great size and a massive population, the city itself, which is legally considered to be a territory where joint-control is held between world powers, is so self-contained that it often behaves as though it were its own country, often acting separately from most political occurrences that happen in the countries that stake claims in it. In truth, Burgon is so heavily separated from political issues that the presence of politicians are rare, and the citizens who inhabit the city seldom pay any attention to them; the world powers, respectively, permit the city of Burgon to create its own law enforcement to manage its issues, due to the sheer size of it, and the difficulty transporting law enforcement overseas might pose. Because Burgon is heavily influenced by business and corporations, the task of law enforcement and governing the people does not seem to belong to the actual government officials at all, but to the executives and owners of the corporations that have succeeded in achieving a foothold in its powerful economy. Because of this, it is often the wealthiest of CEOs and owners who ultimately decide what occurs within the city, and while there are real government officials, they have little to no actual power, though they remain figureheads that are recognized elsewhere.

Burgon itself, which was founded on a small island along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge just south of the Tropic of Capricorn, is known for its rather stable temperature and weather patterns, although the rapidly-increasing size of the city when it was first founded had led to much money the city had made at first go towards its unique form of expansion: the process of having earth brought in to increase the physical size of the island, versus merely building artificial structures, in order to allow a more stable foundation. When the city of Burgon could not afford to bring in rocks, sand, and soil to add to its horizontal range, but still needed to expand, it would go in the only other direction provided: it would build upwards. This resulted in a rather unique structure throughout Burgon, as sturdy platforms were built around the buildings, going up in tiers, adding multiple levels to the layout of the city, and allowing far more people to exist in a smaller area. This system, while a highly efficient use of space, did result in a change in the kind of preference regarding housing, the more expensive homes or buildings often not only being closer to the heart of the city, but also in higher levels or tiers. As the city grew, construction being performed by corporation-owned machines and drones, instead of humans, and the beginnings of the tier system having been built above all the original older buildings, the actual ground-level of Burgon as of today is never seen; often on an international scale it is mistaken for an unpopulated area, and outside countries do not acknowledge that it even exists.

The harsh reality of Burgon, however, is that many years after the ground-level faded from everyone’s minds, regardless of what is commonly believed, it is in fact inhabited by the poor and poverty-stricken of the city, who were more than likely born into their class, as descendants of the people who could not afford to move into homes in the tiers when they were being built. Trapped at the ground-level, which the residents frequently refer to as ‘The Clods’, due to much of it being formed from actual clods of dirt, sunlight is practically nonexistent, due to the structures of the upper tiers closing in the area, casting a shadow and blocking out natural light; this also means that residents of the Clods do not enjoy the same warm sub-tropical weather as the tiers, but often experience a dampness that causes a chilling cold, often attributed to humidity. Because of extremely poor living conditions, the Clods can only be regarded as the slums of Burgon, and likewise contain many of the things that in larger cities are frowned upon. The Clods, compared to the tiers, have rather poor sanitation, which is not helped by the fact that it is located close to the sewage system, and that most homes are small poorly-insulated shacks with dirt floors. Despite the fact that the Clods possess a somewhat higher birth rate than the tiers, it is only because having more children increases the chance that at least one child will live to adulthood, as most children die at an early age due to illness. In addition to these problems, the Clods have a very high crime rate, ranging from thievery, which is extremely common, all the way to murder and gang-related violence; although company-owned drones are occasionally seen maintaining the infrastructure of the city, and there are policing robots that are assigned to the Clods by the small elite group of corporate owners that are aware of the people living there, the chances of a criminal being caught are shockingly low, and it seems that the majority of the policing robots are designed for the very purpose of making sure that the inhabitants of the Clods remain in the Clods.

The Clods set aside, the rest of the city of Burgon is dramatically different, and is considered rather advanced and futuristic by most groups, largely because its strong economic state makes affording the latest technology possible, and all the tiers are considered to be well-kept; in addition, unlike the Clods, which are severely under-policed, there are regular patrols of security drones in the tiers. The tiers, for the most part, consist of buildings somewhat like regular skyscrapers, albeit that each one is built strongly enough that it can be ringed by hanging platforms on all sides, with multiple entrances at different heights, and not always having staircases connecting floors, although sometimes buildings are connected at their sides and seem to form walls. The platforms surrounding the buildings generally have small walls or fences in order to prevent accidents, as well as areas where people can cross over the vast gaps between towers that make the crowded city seem much more open. Although not all homes possess lawns, every so often there are residential areas where the occasional house will be built so that it allows room for greenhouses or a yard, possessing soil for plants to grow in, although some people with homes lacking this feature have placed artificial turfs to simulate plants, or in some cases, possess a large number of real potted plants. The hanging platforms on the buildings, which serve as sidewalks, are separate from other forms of transportation, allowing people to walk free of hindrance from traffic; these platforms may also have gigantic pots every so often containing fully-grown trees maintained by the city, allowing people to feel more comfortable due to having plant life in their extremely urban environment.

Transportation in the tiers of Burgon is separate from the walkways that allow people to travel on foot; but it is highly advanced and is largely considered efficient, having its own routes that keep the city looking neat, versus the typical chaos of a regular urban place. Public transportation over long distances in the city are handled by maglev trains, which have stations in various key points, and travel through vacuum tubes, making their movement not only quick and smooth, but far more efficient due to the lack of friction that would normally slow the trains down. Public transportation that runs for a shorter distance includes the hanging trolley systems, or for those who dislike heights, the electric buses, all of which have their own route separate from other modes of transportation. Although it is considered cheaper and much easier to use public transportation, there are also garages where people may park their cars, and likewise, roads that cars may drive on, although these public roads are often hidden inside of tunnels, due to possible noise or the smell of emissions. All of these separate road networks tend to snake underneath platforms where people walk, remaining busy regardless of the time of day, but despite this, much more organized in appearance.

With the layout of Burgon in mind, much of the city maintenance in the tiers is handled by company-owned drones, not so much because of appearance, but because the overall structure requires proper care in order to prevent disasters. There are regular drones seen repairing cracks in concrete, welding patches or breaks in metal beams, or checking other important aspects of the infrastructure, repairing as needed. There are also drones responsible for caring for plants that are regarded as a part of the city, and there are also drones that maintain large expanses of green spaces filled with plants that serve as parks. Similar drones also frequent the tiers, collecting litter so that it can be properly disposed of, although it is still considered shameful to litter in the first place. Company-owned policing drones also observe the tiers and are rather efficient at preventing crimes, performing randomized routes so that they cannot be seen as predictable by possible criminals; policing drones also possess weaponry, and will first fire stunning rounds in the case of conflict, although they do possess the capability to use lethal force.

With all this information taken into account, there is a standard of living that includes somewhat more advanced technology, although it isn’t too extravagant. Most families with a regular income that would be considered part of the middle-class are able to purchase a certain number of robots for their own personal use, allowing them to skip out on certain domestic tasks, such as gardening, cleaning, cooking, or even grooming and caring for dogs or cats. Robots can vary in appearance or performance, more expensive ones able to do more precise tasks, last longer, or do a quality of work beyond that of a cheaper model. The average number of regular generic models for a middle-class family with one worker is two robots per household, although this is only an average, and some people may have more or less. Another aspect of technology is that most things work wirelessly, although electricity still supports the network, and most other things, like plumbing.

The middle class taken into account, the upper class, families of high-ranking workers, or even the CEOs and owners themselves, have a very high standard of living. Able to afford the most expensive of homes and appliances, these people often live in the very top tiers of Burgon, and the richer of the wealthy people will most likely have a home located closer to the historic ‘heart’ of Burgon, where the original, naturally-formed island was before the city expanded. The average life that the wealthy citizens of Burgon live include a large home with multiple floors, more than likely also possessing a generously-sized yard, and also the most advanced models of robotic servants, along with luxury robots that perform task specifically suited to the preference of whoever the owner programs them to serve. The top tiers allow people to see a view of the sky, which due to an effort to reduce emissions, allows people to see a surprisingly large amount of stars on a clear night; there are also some buildings with clear domes designed to close over the entire residence at the push of a button, allowing people to enjoy the outdoors, even if it is raining. Homes in the upper tiers can also have pools, and publicly-used facilities that are open to anyone in the public who can afford to go there include golf-courses (Enclosed by domes to prevent some sort of accident, of course), zoos, and even museums.

The long introductions out of the way, there’s a lot to do in the city, and the story will begin on an average day, before something crazy happens that turns everything into a huge mess. A small glimpse into the future will tell you what’s going to happen. First of all, the entire city of Burgon is about to experience a major blackout, thanks to a team of hackers with unknown motives who have somehow managed to create a virus capable of shutting everything down. This will probably cripple the city, because not only will it be dark, and shut down all the robots, but plumbing will not function, either, and the only way to get around without some sort of transport is if you have your own vehicle, or if you decide to walk; the city is pretty self-contained, so more than likely the people who have joint-control of it as a territory will expect Burgon to take care of the issue on its own. In addition to all these problems, the people who lived down in the Clods are going to finally get past the policing drones and into the rest of the city; bringing all sorts of issues with them, and this event will truly test the character of each person faced with the challenge of surviving an originally safe city that has become within an instant a very dangerous place.

…Oh, I should probably mention, as the Wordsmith who started this story that the strange eldritch beings I mentioned earlier have for some reason taken an interest in planet Earth in this universe, and have now emerged from their place of origin. Although we normally hide away as we write the story, our characters don’t really stand a chance if we expect them to stop these creatures themselves. Although the chances are that it’ll dramatically alter the plot and the turn of events, the only way the story will truly progress is if we self-insert ourselves and fight these creatures off. Because of their alien origin, these creatures, which I have knowledge of the fact that they are collectively known as the Yggsshaa (properly pronounced ‘Eeeg-shaw’), will more than likely attack from outer-space and thus descend from the atmosphere. Although they are largely considered to be of equal power to a Wordsmith, and cannot be harmed by anything except for a Wordsmith or another Yggsshaa, they do not come from an alternate realm as the Wordsmiths do. They don’t exactly have the power to mess with landscapes in the same way that the writer does; they can’t appear wherever they want, although technically, the Wordsmiths can’t find where they’re staging their attacks from, because their origin is a place we can’t pinpoint yet. In addition, it seems like while they have an army, the numerous smaller things are just the prelude to something larger, more intelligent, and far more dangerous, which leads me to think there may be some sort of hierarchy involved…

Welcome to 'The Fourth Barrier' RP!

In this story, RPers have the opportunity to create a regular character in the city of Burgon, hailing from any social class, whether it is a hidden resident of the Clods, or one of the wealthier members of society. In addition, as a part of this Roleplay, you will also create a Wordsmith version of yourself, in order to combat the Yggsshaa, which will more than likely destroy the story if a group of Wordsmiths do not interfere. As a Wordsmith, you may create a strange, eldritch being that rivals Godzilla in size, or perhaps you'll give yourself a human-sized form; if you're torn, I have no objections to you making more than one form, just don't go crazy. Although the power of a Wordsmith is regarded as limitless, there will be restrictions put on what you can do in the story, to prevent problems.

Before you make any characters, here are the rules. I am aware some of them are long, but some of them are long for the sake of clarity:

Rules

1. Godmodding, Autoing, and Metagaming are forbidden

2. Romance is allowed, but sexual topics are not

3. Since people insist on swearing, regardless if I tell them not to, I'll allow it, but if you swear every other word, we're going to have a problem.

4. Make sure you enter this RP aware that while some CEOs aware of the Clods are clearly persecuting them, this is not the same for everyone, and there are, in fact, good people among the wealthy; let's not demonize the rich because of a select few corrupt individuals, please. You may create characters that have that belief, but you shouldn't think that yourself, because there will be both kinds in the story.

5. If you ask for your character to have a specific role that is absolutely required in order for the story to advance (Example: Teacher for a class of PC students) I will immediately reject your request.

6. Wordsmiths are trying to preserve the story they are protecting, meaning they will try to interfere with it as little as possible. This means they will not, by any means, intentionally change the setting, create objects out of nothing, give their character important plot information, or do something to sway all the events in their character's favor. If a building is destroyed by a Wordsmith or Yggsshaa during fighting, which is likely accidental, it is fine to restore the structure to its original state. It is also fine if you revive those who are killed by the Yggsshaa, but you will not bring those killed by any other means back to life.

7. Because Wordsmiths will more than likely have to explain the reason for their presence to their characters in order to keep the plot going (This does not extend to the general public as a whole, all they'll do is panic), it is not problematic if Wordsmiths appear to the characters and have regular conversations with them. This in mind, Wordsmiths are forbidden to mention certain things, as previously stated above. Wordsmiths should also refrain from mentioning secrets or hidden information about other people's characters, or even other characters they own, as it may harm plot lines. Wordsmiths may, however, talk about one another, and perhaps about the foe they are fighting, but remember to refrain from saying anything that would harm the story. Also, just because it's a fun twist, Wordsmiths can 'kidnap' their characters and transport them to their pocket realms; you can do this if you don't want anyone listening in, but don't bring them into the 'neutral realm' where all the Wordsmiths meet to discuss plot ideas.

8. Be realistic. Because of the kind of interactions that will occur between the Wordsmiths and their characters in the story, the characters will more than likely grow to hate, distrust, and loathe the Wordsmiths as a whole. The Wordsmiths in essence originally saw the story the characters were in as a game, and they do not do anything to help the people in the story outside of what the Yggsshaa do that interferes with it; they also created the bad situation the characters are in in the first place. A lot of the interactions between the Wordsmiths and the characters will be ones where the Wordsmiths are trying to motivate their characters to keep going through their plot lines. If the characters warm up to their Wordsmiths (they won't do that easily) they may also offer encouragement of their own; it may also be reluctantly done, since the Wordsmiths are the only things stopping the Yggsshaa.

9. Wordsmiths, as already stated, are the only things that can harm the Yggsshaa, or other Wordsmiths. The reason for this is that the two groups are for all purposes seen as counterparts or equals in power. The reason that the Wordsmiths and Yggsshaa cannot be harmed by anything else is because they do not follow the laws that everything else does; almost as though they exist on a different plain of reality than everything else that overlaps the other inhabitants of the world. The way that they interact with the world can at times seem normal, but other times it varies, such as how one Wordsmith may have bullets bounce off of their body, and another will have the bullets pass through them as though they were a ghost. Because the interactions seen between the Yggsshaa and Wordsmiths are as though they are on the same plain of reality, they can harm one another.

10. In battles between the Wordsmiths and the Yggsshaa, one should note that the two can effectively injure one another; no instant wound regeneration or harmless attacks, and against the larger foes, no instant kills, because both groups are still considerably strong, even without their invincibility. Wordsmiths and Yggsshaa are both capable of being wounded, and then succumbing to their injuries; upon these occasions where it is risky to continue fighting without fear of death, Yggsshaa will retreat back into space and places unknown if allowed to escape, and Wordsmiths will retreat to their pocket realms to tend to their wounds; like the methods intended to cause harm, the methods intended to heal injuries in the story world are also ineffective. The Yggsshaa will attack in occasional waves, so the battles are not constant, and there are periods where both sides rest in between. Portals opened into the pocket realms of the Wordsmiths cannot be used to cheat in a fight and serve as a mode of teleportation, because it runs the risk of a Yggsshaa escaping into the pocket realm with them. What may happen is unknown, but the only ones who can open a portal into a Wordsmith's pocket realm is the Wordsmith who inhabits it, and it may end badly if an Yggsshaa traps you in your own home.

11. This is not a crossover RP, so let's not drag characters from other stories into this, although if you want to make similar characters wandering around as cameos, or mention them as a Wordsmith regarding stories you've written, that's fine.

12. Your characters in the story are going to understand very little about the Wordsmiths and the Yggsshaa, regardless of how much is said to them, merely because to them the concepts mentioned will be exceedingly complex, and will also border on things that while, easy for the Wordsmiths to comprehend, could border on the point of making the characters go insane, although precautions will prevent this.

13. Technology in the story has already been stated. There are not any laser guns, hovercrafts, holograms, or teleportation machines. There are not devices that plug into your skull, either, so ignore any concepts of connecting to virtual reality or downloading things into your brain. Robotics that connect to nerve systems and allow prosthetic limbs that move via natural impulses have been created, however, though robotic eyes are still not so advanced. Advancements in surgery have made it possible for crippled people to walk, and thus crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, and canes are seldom seen, although signs will still have braille for the blind.

14. Remember, your characters are regular humans confronted with a dangerous situation. They are not meta-humans or magical beings, and as such, they are naturally very fragile. They are not granted any special powers because they talk to their Wordsmiths.

15. While inhabitants of the Clods are aware of the tiers and their upper levels, most regular inhabitants of the city living in the tiers, up until the blackout, will not be aware that they exist. I don't want to see any cheating on this.

16. As GM, I reserve the right to kill your characters. If you do something wrong, I'll warn you at first, but if you keep doing the same things after a warning, you will be punished.

17. You are allowed to make CEO's and company owners if you want to make a rich character, but it is unlikely that your characters will be aware of the Clods. This is because certain CEOs will be controlled exclusively by me or a moderator, if I choose to select one.

18. If you make a rich character, you cannot make them the CEOs or family members of the companies responsible for making the drones that take care of the city itself. This means that they cannot belong to the company that makes repair drones, or the one that makes policing drones. Companies that make robots for private use are allowed, however, and you can also be a worker at one of these companies. If you are curious about what's alright, feel free to ask.

19. Although there are troublemakers in the city, there are specific bad parts of town, typically in the lowest tier, in an area where there are places such as tattoo parlors and bars. Don't expect to see bad things everywhere, as the city is rather clean.

20. You can only make one Wordsmith character per person, and the Wordsmith name has to come from the username of the actual RPer (Short abbreviations or nicknames are allowed). You are not permitted to make a Yggsshaa character.

21. Every person except the GM or any appointed moderators of the RP is only allowed to make a total of three normal characters. This does not include your Wordsmith character.

22. No killing characters without permission.

23. Since some people probably skim the OP and the rules and find the word used as a checking tool, I'm going to use a different way to make sure you read carefully. What is the proper way to pronounce Yggsshaa? Place the answer in the 'Other' section of your sheet. No complaints, the answer is in the OP.

Character Sheet Templates

Upon completing a character sheet, submit it in the OOC for approval. When sheets are approved, move them into the character vault thread, making separate posts for each individual character. I will also ask you to create a heading of the character's name at the top of each post, so that each character can be found more easily.

Wordsmith Character Sheet

Name: (Must come from your username, but nicknames or shortened versions are fine)

Gender: (Male or Female)

Height: (Optional)

Weight: (Optional)

Appearance: (You may have multiple forms, but don't go crazy. There can be eldritch inconsistencies as well, such as one character feeling blistering heat standing near your character, while another feels ice cold.)

Personality: (Try to be true to your actual personality)

Abilities/Strengths: (Since you aren't allowed to use most of the god-like abilities at your disposal, there isn't any need to mention them; you've already been made aware of the things Wordsmiths can do. This section relates to combat with the Yggsshaa, which will probably wind up like battles between giant monsters in Japan. One ability you possess regardless if you have wings or not is flight, and you also do not need to worry about your environment, so you can travel in space. Abilities that you need to mention would be things like the power to breathe fire, generate barriers, or turn into a mass of goo. This is similar to if you had a meta-human or a kaiju, but on a bigger scale).

Weaknesses: (You need a weakness, as you will be facing a foe that is a rival in power. If you don't have a real weakness, I will tell you to give your character one)

Other:

Known Yggsshaa and Their Titles

This is a list of all known Yggsshaa that are somehow linked to the staging of the attack on the story's planet Earth, overall, and the respective titles that they are sometimes referred to by.

There's a really good chance I'll join this, though I don't know when I'll get around to those character sheets.

Hopefully soon. Wink

It's okay to take your time, it took me ages to get the OOC up, and I'm still hoping I was informative enough to prevent some sort of problem.

I can't wait to see it. Also, does it look like I was clear enough on what people can and can't do?

I'm glad people are planning on submitting sheets. I hope everyone really enjoys this RP, because it had been an idea that was rattling around in my skull for roughly two months before I decided to do anything.

I'm sketching out my Wordsmith currently. I'm afraid he'll be rejected because he's more terrifying than the Yggsshaa.

That would depend, Op. I started refining the concept of what the Yggsshaa were when I decided to give a shot at drawing horrors from weird fiction, since I had these charcoal pencils and needed to do something with them. As it turns out, charcoal is perfect for drawing them, and I've already got three Yggsshaa you will meet or at least hear weaker ones mention in the future.

I based my design off of this costume I am currently trying to make out of duct tape. It's a dragon, but it's heavily inspired by different birds.

I might make something for this. I have a few questions on technology first, though. I'll pm you in a minute.

Okay, that's pretty scary, although I think upon reflecting the Yggsshaa are more shocking and disgusting, than anything else. It's kind of hard to put into words. They're kind of scary, but in a different fashion than what you're designing.

Also, if anyone wants to break the news in this manner, I can have a minor Yggsshaa spawn attack their character and kill them. The Wordsmith of that character would then bring them back to life, since they're allowed to, although they will pretty vividly remember dying. You would then have to explain everything to the character.

Dont know if we're supposed to place character sheets here to be accepted and then into the character vault. But if so, oh well.

Accepted, Op. Move your character into the character vault, and post a huge title at the top of the post so that we know which character it belongs to.

Also, I should mention people, that you should keep in mind that the Wordsmiths are still essentially you, and that Wordsmiths do, in fact, fall under the classification of being mortals, although not the same kind as regular characters. While they are the equivalent of gods in the realms of their characters, and in their pocket dimensions, they are not immortal, as the fact that they can be killed has been mentioned.
