Oooooooh. I like the idea so far.

Well, I haven't thought of a power yet, but I'd imagine his powers would be severely stunted by the aftermath of the condition, although he would probably need some sort of enhanced immunity to illness, because he would die otherwise. I'll make him if you let me, but I need a good power to start with.

Perhaps he's a phoenix? Or something along the lines of that.

True, we have electricity, but we don't have any fire mutants thus far. I like the idea, maybe he can do something like burst into flames without it killing him. I don't think he'd be able to do anything else. It's dramatic enough for a power, but not strong enough to suggest the condition didn't affect him.

Gabriela is more or less a fire type meta-human.

So we have taylor with water, Nicole with air (more or less) and gabe with fire. We need an earth mutant and we can have the 4 elements. Maybe if someone made an earth characters and they all combined their powers they could do some super-mega-ultra-uber combo or something.

Lone, if they're in the middle of a warzone and Taylor sees a guy covered in cuts and blood, she probably will think that he was fighting and got hurt. Or she's just teasing him, as she never gave him her number.

Uh...how can you call anyone when you don't have a phone?

There's probably non-cell phones in the dorms, I'd assume, that you could use to call other students. Or at least there should be.

I dunno. I'm working on the personality of the ashing mutant I'm deciding to call Reginald. He's going to be recognizable as probably having once been attractive by most meta-humans, and what happened should be chilling enough, even for people like Dragonfly who already have severe problems.

Hm, so I was thinking; is there any way for people on the campus to receive things from outside the campus, like a school mail truck or something? Because if not I am going to have to figure out a way that Taylor has been sneaking clothes and magazines and such into the school. It would make more sense if there was, because if the kids were gassed and taken to the campus, then they wouldn't have any clothes or such with them, plus people of that age grow, so there'd need to be a way for students to get things.

Yeah. Every now and then the school ships people out to get supplies, clothes, etc.


When students do first arrive they do keep their bags and whatever they came with barring cell phones and other contraband

Okay, here is Reginald Walter, the Ashing student. Please note I really tried to make him look extremely weak and ill. He's missing several digits on his hands and feet, and his wings are near-useless. He's not really so much for fighting as for character development.

Physical Appearance: Reginald seems to have once been extremely handsome, even for an animal meta-human. However, due to the terrible effects of ashing, he appears to have aged several decades, and combined with constant self-neglect and a lack of personal hygiene, he looks as though he were slowly wasting away, almost as though he had some awful flesh-eating disease, which is a perfectly reasonable possibility. Having the appearance of a kind of bipedal dragon, Reginald has a mostly human figure, but is covered in keeled black scales that at one point were likely shiny and smooth, but have faded to a sort of dull grey and grown brittle, due to his condition and poor health. He is extremely thin, to the point of being gaunt, his joints knobby, and his body as a whole being extremely weak in appearance. His face is oval-shaped, but with a sharp bone structure, although it is heavily aged to the point that it seems to belong to an old man, and not a teenager. His eyes are almond-shaped; with round pupils and golden irises, although Reginald’s right eye is obviously blind, clouded over by milky white cataracts. A great deal of sagging is below both eyes, as though he has not slept properly for days. The corners of Reginald’s mouth have rotted away to the point that all of his teeth are visible, and he no longer has cheeks. His teeth have remained pure white, as though well brushed, but this is a strong indicator that he is not eating, and his gums do not seem healthy, either. Because of this damage to his face, Reginald is unable to prevent himself from drooling constantly, and has a diminished ability to swallow. His nose also appears to have fallen off, as only a skeletal hole is present where it should be, and whenever he breathes through it, it creates a whistling sound. His straight black hair, falling down to his shoulders, is Jet Black, but has lost all its sheen and is matted with tangles, completely unkempt, and possibly falling out as well. It frames his face with a prominent widow’s peak, and is held out of it by four very small black horns that are shiny like a gazelle’s, although chipped in many places. His entire body is bony and almost skeletal in appearance, the skin sagging, with the scales a sickly pallor. In many places, he has open, oozing ulcers that are obviously painful, and if healed will leave prominent scars. Some of these ulcers, though, are pure black, as a result of necrosis. Truly, it is a miracle that Reginald is even able to walk or move. On his back he has a pair of scaly black wings, like a dragon’s, however, much like the rest of his body, they are extremely unhealthy, and holes seem to have eaten into much of the membranes. Reginald is likely to be extremely weak as a flier, if he can even achieve it at all. While his hands and feet are still human in shape, the nails are pointed and black, like claws. However, his middle and ring finger on his left hand are missing, as though they have fallen off, and the pinkie on his right hand is also missing. His big toe on his right foot is missing, and as a result he moves with a strange gait. The second smallest toe on his left foot has also fallen off. Reginald has a long serpentine tail with a barbed tip similar to most dragons in stories, but the barb is chipped in half. Although it was likely held above the ground at one point, it now drags limply on the ground. Reginald speaks with a deep bass-baritone voice, but it is extremely dry and scratchy, and sounds rather weak, having little volume or stability.

Attire: Reginald wears his typical clothing, which consists of an oversized short-sleeve cotton T-shirt, and white sweatpants. However, because they are white, his clothes reveal all the smears of grime and dirt that have accumulated as a result of a lack of hygiene. They also have stains of blood from his oozing sores, and very well look too contaminated for people to feel safe touching them. Holes are ripped in the back of the jacket to allow his wings to fit through. He often has a sort of black robe draped over his entire body, the hood pulled over his head, which he began to wear when he began ashing, and actually cared about how he looked and tried to conceal his appearance. Now believing himself to be dead, Reginald never bothered to take it off. He also often carries around an old withered tree branch he got from the park, which he uses to aid in walking, as his missing right toe hinders his movement naturally. In appearance, he seems to be an old man with an infectious disease.

Personality

Innate Personality: One of the exceedingly rare 4% of meta-humans that survives the process of ashing, people would often think Reginald was lucky, and blessed with good fortune. However, anyone that actually says that has probably never seen him, or known what it was like to experience such a terrible condition. Reginald, in truth, would likely be better off as one of the 96% percent that had died from gross overuse of their powers, as his body has been horribly damaged by the affliction. It has also damaged his mental state, which further complicates how lucky he actually is to be a survivor. However, Reginald is not even aware that he lived, because he has developed Cotard Delusion (Better known as Walking Corpse Syndrome) as a mental disorder. As a result, he holds a delusional belief that he is dead, and no longer alive. As a result, he does not believe he must maintain personal hygiene or appearance, and also does not believe he needs to eat, and as a result, neglects his health and is slowly starving, unless grabbed and forcibly fed, which is sometimes done by various special eyes that spot him and identify his malnourished state, although he always somehow escapes, despite his wracked body. He does not see anything (Other people, animals, trees, etc.) as alive, and believes that the actual reality of the world is a delusion, that the green leaves on plants, or the healthy appearance of another being is all a hallucination, and a lie. He believes that he is in the world of the dead, and that the real world will end soon. He no longer feels pleasure like normal people, and often dismisses pain, as he does not think he can die a second time. He does not show interest in any activities, either, and even people who used to know him, he does not seem to recognize as friends. He does, however, have first-hand knowledge of ashing, as he believes he died from it. He may often describe himself either as a ghost, or a corpse, and that all that he and other people see is an illusion of what is really true.

Outward Personality: Due to his belief that he is already dead, Reginald does not behave like a normal person. He does not bother with his appearance, and doesn’t care if his sores are painful. He doesn’t go to the cafeteria to eat, and shows little to no interest in activities. Sometimes he does not respond to people speaking to him unless touched or forcibly grabbed, but most are reluctant to do this, as he looks as though he might transfer some sort of disease, or fall apart if handled too roughly. He shows no reaction to fun or pleasurable experiences, and often repeatedly says that everything is dead, and that the world around him is an illusion, and that he is either a corpse or ghost. He often does not seem to recognize his own name, and if anyone knows him personally, he does not appear to know them as a friend or enemy, seeing them as just another dead illusion. He does, however, always respond to one question. No matter how ill he may look or behave, Reginald is always able to recount how he died, although technically he is still living. He always describes what ashing is, and the torment that it brings. He typically responds to questions in the past tense, and ignores present-tense ones.

Hobbies/Skills: Although formerly interested in drama and soccer, Reginald no longer has any hobbies, as he believes he is dead. He does sometimes appear to others as what is called a ‘doomsday prophet.’

History/Bio: Reginald began to mutate at the age of eleven, and was sent to his school almost immediately after his skin began to darken and grow scales, as by then his wings had already begun to sprout from his back. However, after going to the school and training to use his powers, he one day pushed himself too far, and suddenly started ashing, his cells rapidly dying and crumbling into dust, although the process was slow, from his perspective. Panicking, Reginald took the black cloak he wears now and began wearing it in an attempt to hide what was happening to him, although it was quickly diagnosed by the Eyes and he was taken to the medical ward. There, Reginald slowly began to lose his sanity, aware of his body rotting and wasting away, until he was convinced he was a decomposing corpse. Although he was told he was one of the rare 4% who lived, it was too late to convince him he was a survivor. As a result, he has spent a long amount of time hiding from other students (Those he knew thought he was still being treated in the hospital), trying to flee from the eyes that often try to follow him to force-feed him whenever necessary, and treat his sores, although he is surprisingly elusive, despite his state.

Power Class: Animal, Elemental

Power: Reginald’s powers, as a result of ashing, are heavily diminished, and work even more poorly as a result of his belief that he is dead, because he does not eat properly, or tend to his physical needs as he should. Although formerly able to breathe a powerful plume of fire like a dragon, he is now only capable of coating himself in a jacket of flames, his clothing only surviving for so long because they were treated with a special spray by medical eyes to fireproof them, and because Reginald does not believe fighting is necessary. Now, whenever he tries to breathe fire, he only creates a tiny puff of it, if it isn’t just a wisp of smoke. Although he has wings, gigantic holes that do not heal because of self-neglect make it difficult to fly, and as a result, if Reginald tries to fly, he cannot reach a high altitude, and will often frequently smack into different things, unable to remain steady in the air. The only powers that he has that is not diminished is his resistance to heat, and he only survives between treatments administered by the eyes because of a very weak immune system enhancement, which kills just enough bacteria to prevent severe complications such as blood poisoning.

Weaknesses: Reginald has many weaknesses that are quite obvious. First, he is extremely frail and weak, slowly starving to death, and is covered in a large number of gaping wounds that would make excellent targets for attacks, if anyone was heartless enough to do such a thing to someone in such a terrible state. Second, Reginald does not respond to pain as a normal person should, and ignores his physical state, which means he won’t care if he has some sort of terrible wound. His wings, while having weak flight capability, are relatively more of a hindrance, due to being riddled with holes. In flight, Reginald is unstable and will often crash into different obstacles, as a result, being in the air does more harm than good.

Also I've noticed that whenever Lone takes a break it normally corresponds to a period of increased activity for me. and about the time he comes back i take a break.....

Mehah! I'm going to be leaving for a trip tomorrow, and won't be back until Tuesday. I don't know if I can gain access to Wi-fi or not, although I usually do.
