The story of displaced champions begins in an unknown universe.
Champions from the Megaverse were suddenly absorbed into massive black swirling portals while going about their business. Waking up in a whole new world, not too far from each other, that they are unfamiliar with. This universe was a more primal one. It was a jungle with an abundant amount of plant-life as far as the eye could see. These plants weren't too different from plants on Earth. They were green, and looked Earth-like, and at the same time; alien. The area were littered with colossal trees that were the size of sky-scrapers, and had life of various kinds. The air was a little thicker than Earth, but tolerable. The sky above them was a dark, dirty, greyish-green color, and were littered with these massive jellyfish-like creatures. That had massive tentacles and were of every shape, size and color. That were floating high above the sky in formation, but seemed to be heading south. They emitted an extremely toxic gas as they moved, which made it an unwise idea to approach. Other than that, currently, there appeared to be zero signs of sentient life, and the place was desolate.
On this strange new world; champions began to slowly appear. With the words, Nanoblack, strangely, in their heads.
This world was strange..
Samson.
Falling out of a black portal was Samson Isiah Jeros. He was off doing his usual business of fighting crime, beating up the evil dudes, when this portal appeared under his feet and sucked him in. Strangely, it only ssucked.
What an @sshole that portal is.
There was one problem, while falling, Samson looked down to see that he was above a lake. Lakes have water. Water is bad. He quickly exploded into a cloud of flames, and appeared on dry, safe land. He let out a quiet whistling sound and looked around. This place was nothing like the cities that he operated in daily. In fact, it's something different.... Now, he's in a land of myth, he could say. Something he's never been anywhere near before. It was a mystery whether he was even still in his home dimension now. There was one thing his training taught him to do; scout out the immediate area soon as possible. With his abilities, he's near impossible to kill permanently. Samson leaped high up into the air, and a red light surrounded him, and so did a heat. He exploded into a cloud of flames which quickly took the appearance of a bearded vulture - Made out of fire. Releasing a bird-like call, Samson quickly spun around the lake at lightning-fast speed and flew off in the distance.
Samson scouted around, flying at relatively slow speeds. Examining everything he could.

Art
SYSTEM REBOOTING...STANDBY FOR REDEPLOYMENT. . .. ... REBOOTING COMPLETE. ART DEVICE ACTIVATED.
Art Smith sat bolt upright, his eyes wide with adrenaline and his hands clenched tightly to his RPDRG. He looked around cautiously, breathing heavily until he realized that he didn't have to breathe. Art slowly rolled onto his back onto his knees, and climbed to his feet. His gun was still tightly clenched in his hands, and his eyes turned from terrified to serious as the grave. He scanned his surroundings through the eye of his red dot sight, and contempt that there were no hostiles about, lowered it to his hip. Art attempted to recall what had happened to him before he had blacked out, but found that he could remember only one thing; Nanoblack. Art had no idea what that was, so he activated a search engine scan. But there was no internet here, so Art would have to dabble in a situation which he knew barely anything about, the situation of having absolutely no idea what was going on.
Art scanned his surroundings; he was in the middle of an alien jungle. His bioscanners detected a tree or two as having similar DNA to Redwood and Giant Sequoia trees on Earth, but they weren't similar enough to be the same species; they were a biproduct of convergent evolution, most likely. Art scanned the animals too; the floating jellyfish had structural DNA that ever-so-slightly resembled that of a Portuguese Man-of-War's, but man-of-wars obviously did not fly, and did not spew toxic fumes. This world was strange indeed. Art tried to scan the sky to find where he was in the universe, but found that the cloud cover was too dense to do a proper scan; he would have to wait for the clouds to clear before he could get a proper scan. With cloud cover, it appeared as if...there was nothing out there, which Art immediately deemed impossible. There was no spot in the universe where you couldn't see any stars. Unless...
Art shook that word out of his mind. "Unless?" he remembered his instructors say "You're a machine! You don't use the word 'unless' and you don't use the words 'what if'; got it?" He almost smiled when he thought of his instructors, and then remembered that he was in the middle of a harsh jungle with no idea of what could be out there waiting for him to show up. Slowly and cautiously, led by the barrel of his gun, Art made his way into the forest to look around.

Apollyon
Biomechanical warlord Apollyon was seated in the command station of the matter converter. The Spinehk legion was preparing to consume yet another star system in their endless conquest. His powers could only do so much, so they created a massive machine for harvesting resources on the planetary scale. The maw of the device was in position to consume the planet and thus end another civilization. They had gathered all the information about them, now was the time to snuff them out rather than constantly monitor them. The likelihood of them developing technology that wasn't already cataloged was next to none. At his signal the matter conversion chamber fired up, ready to convert all the planets material into the Spinehk's matter type.
There was a sudden disturbance, and Apollyon found himself being transported to a realm uncharted by the Spinehk. A foreign piece of data infiltrated his mind the moment before emerging in an alien atmosphere. Nanoblack. He blasted straight through a massive tree, it broke clean in two scattering splinters every which direction. A shock wave ensued upon impact, rattling the trees and scattering nearby wildlife. Apollyon stood up completely unscathed from the high atmospheric drop and immediately went to work. In the time it took for him to fall, he had already scanned everything all the way to the highest mountain ranges in every direction. Were his view unimpeded he could have archived every geographical feature and life form to the edge of the planet. The level of detail was down to complete chemical makeups and atomic compositions. With that kind of information no exploration was required, what he was doing now is covering his tracks.
Apollyon waved his hand and completely restored the area to how it'd been before his arrival. Every little fragment of wood returned to it's original placement, even the creatures sacred off returned. It was like was watching a movie on rewind. Next he activated his stealth system, and suddenly disappeared from almost all sources of detection. It even went to the point that beings with abilities like his read the space he occupies as being no different from the surrounding air. He had picked up on other sentient beings of power here, so far a phoenix like mutant and a humanoid machine. His priorities were to evaluate them, then use them to his advantage and or eliminate them.
There were more disturbances akin to the portal that brought him here. Apollyon held fast examining them one by one. He'd wait until they subsided and he had stock on all those brought here before deciding on a course of action. Despite his best efforts he could not locate a source for the cryptic phrase on his mind, nor how it got past his mental defenses.

Nuke sat in his sanctum, hovering in place above several gyroscopic rings and spheres made of different materials. He silently felt the flow of energy moving through the planet and solar system. Things were quiet, peaceful.....then he felt himself being ripped from the palace, to a place unknown. Is this? he thought, then No, this is not his style in the split second before he left the Universe and fell out of the sky toward a giant forest. Reacting quickly, he twisted and got a view of the surroundings. He exerted his power and he gracefully slipped in an opening in the canopy, landing softly on his feet. In his head, a strange word repeated itself Nanoblack. He wondered for a nanosecond what this Nanoblack was, and if perhaps it was responsible for transporting him to his current location. He reached out, feeling for life....there it was. He decided to see who or what it was up close, and faded from visibility. He would register nothing on energy or gravimetric sensors of any type. Then he took off across the forest.
