| The first gym has pokemon that are level 20 to put things into better perspective, Lieo. | |

| One group has gone through the dragon gym, and another is battling Team Phantom, who stole one of Vipera's character's pokemon. if you by any chance are interested in joining, there's a group at the Professor's house now. Your character could be late, or, since I more or less trust you within the confines of an RP, your character could already have a pokemon and be a kinda Brock-ish character. | |

| I really like the idea of settling matches in Showdown, but there is an issue of EVs and natures. Obviously no characters are going to reject a Pokemon IC because its nature isn't good for competitive battle, so all Pokemon having neutral natures in Showdown would be best. As for EVs, nobody wants to calculate all the EVs their Pokemon has gained, so player characters' EVs should all be zero. This would also help newer players compete with higher-level Pokemon, since there won't be so much of a stat difference. Perhaps NPCs could have EV trained Pokemon for a tougher challenge though. | |

| Good point, although I have no clue how Riffraff and Wraith are going to keep up at this rate.
Besides the point, I already have an idea of what pokemon I want on my team by the end of the story, I was originally going to have an Altaria, but I would like to change that to an Arcanine.

| Hmm, good points Operator. My opinion is still to stick with simpler mechanics (no EV/IVs, neutral natures) to make this more less strategy-based. Incorporating natures encourages people to pick natures for their Pokemon because they're more competitively useful, not for the sake of the story. | |

Besides the point, I already have an idea of what pokemon I want on my team by the end of the story, I was originally going to have an Altaria, but I would like to change that to an Arcanine. Cubone and Ghastly will hold up just fine for now. Especially Ghastly. Gabite, my current strongest that I would actually use, only beats it by 2 points speed wise. Cubone on the other hand, if it has access to thick club, makes it one of the most dangerous threats in the LC. Doubling it's base 50 attack stat.It would have attacking power equal to the kind found some OU tier pokemon. THAT'S REALLY GOOD. And if you're still terrified then there's always trick room. @TriopThat's your choice. If everyone's EV's are in place and everyone's pokemon has a good nature it's still fair. Every nature (Besides the neutral ones) have benefits and drawbacks. My Tyranitar is stubborn and uncaring. Adamant is describes him. My Deino is rather lazy and relaxed. Mild could be used just as well as relaxed or laxed. Again, it's up to you.

| Hmm... it's an adventure RP though, not a competitive battle RP. If it were a competitive battle roleplay we would be collecting level 100s and TMs and giving everything Leftovers. I see this as more like the story side of Pokemon. | |

| I dislike stat-changing moves. I always wind up at a disadvantage when I start using them, because I get a one-hit KO half the time unless I move first. At any rate, I usually don't focus on natures much. | |

It IS competitive battling. I'm proposing this as a way to settle who wins when two RPers battle each other IC so that it's fair and nobody can complain later on about it. The only thing we're doing is using the pokemon we have in the RP at the same level as they are in the RP.@ ViperaYou'd want to send me to the depths of hell, pull me out, and then send me there again.CLICK ME

| My primary concern, is if I were to join, is that I would be far behind everyone else if the story had already progressed to a certain point. As for making the character itself, I already have a couple of characters I've used once or twice before, but the problem lies in them being older and being more experienced. I have a character that starts off as a newbie, but it was in my own roleplay, so I didn't really have to make a sheet for him if I didn't want to.
So the real problem lies therein me being too lazy to make a sheet from scratch or thinking of a brand new character altogether.

| My character is about to receive their very first Pokemon at Level 5, and so is someone else. You won't be behind, trust me.
But can we have some third opinions on EVs and natures to settle battles?

| I was asking everyone else what they propose. I'm not doing a good job of convincing you and you're not doing a good job of convincing me. I want to know what everyone else thinks. | |

| Meh, you're saying you want to pre-determine battles before they even start? Where's the fun in spoiling the ending? | |

| When you put it that way, yes. Although the ending would be the only thing you'd know.
It'd determine who won the fight. But everything else in between would be up to the two who are battling.

| Who said anything about predetermined battles? Operator wants to determine the results of a battle with Showdown, giving the Pokemon competetive Natures and EVs. I wanted to determine the results of battles in Showdown without EVs and with neutral natures. After that we would write out the battle IC. | |

| How's this then: For any battle between PCs, the two users decide OOC how to settle it: Showdown with EVs/Natures, Showdown without EVs/Natures, or just deciding. | |

| What is your name?: Erica Are you a boy or a girl?: Girl How old are you?: 12 I'm not wearing my glasses, so what do you look like?: What is your personality like?: Erica has a huge 'go getter' attitude. She can come off as rash due to her hatred for backing down or giving up. Erica is also very knowledgeable of many things about Pokemon, due to her striving to be a Pokemon breeder, and tries to use this to her best interest and the interest of her friends and allies. (I tend to keep these short because I like developing personality through the role play) Where are you from?: The outskirts of Mauville city. Anything else you'd like to tell me?: Erica isn't a huge fan of battling pokemon against each other for the point of violence or to show dominance. Thus, she would rather enter contests then take the gym challenge.
