| Well technically, a person gets to pick their pronouns. They, I've found, is more popular, but Ze is more technical. | |

| The only time I've ever heard Ze used was when it was referenced on a tumblr blog. They, them, they're and such were used as singular pronouns up until somewhere between the 1700s and the 1900s. | |

| Idk. I just find it extremely annoying because unless sage is alone I can't tell if she's with someone or not. | |

| I don't mean to call you out, True Night, but your post had me a little confused so I'm going to ask a couple questions. I'll break it up to make it easier. - True Night wrote:
- Using web she anchored herself to the ground opposite of the slabs trajectory, and created a line between herself and it. The large rocks inertia threatened to pull her with it, but the supports kept her steadfast. She then pulled around herself in a circular motion and let it loose like a slingshot now heading for Valery. Swinging the massive thing around put her off balance, and uncentered her shield. This left her open to another onslaught from Drake. She knew this beforehand, but it couldn't be helped.
Firstly, I'm not entirely sure who this part of your post refers to, whether it be Cassandra or Vespera, though it would admittedly make more sense if it were Vespera. I'm not exactly sure what this says, but I'm deducing that one of them is swinging the massive boulder as though it were a monkey fist and... pulled herself to him? I was under the impression that the boulder were "large blocks of concrete", meaning they're cubical in nature and tall enough for them to take shelter behind and wide enough to make a cube (which makes more sense when I think block). So I see them being no less than 6x6x6, where the dimensions are measured in feet, so 216 square feet. Concrete tends to weigh 150 pounds per cubic foot. If I was correct in my assumptions regarding the concrete's dimensions, that means those blocks weigh a hellish amount (which might've been implied in my post, otherwise Abe wouldn't have exerted any effort in simply moving it to another location). I'm a bit skeptical that either Cassandra or Vespera can swing thirty-thousand pounds off to the side. But I am going to assume for a moment they CAN, and explain why I'm still skeptical. Tie a rope to the front of a small car, maybe an ATV. Have someone drive straight towards you and see if if you can maybe sling them off to the side. Odds are you can't because there's too much acceleration, inertia, and the fact that the rope hangs limply to the ground because they're coming closer to you. Swinging around in itself is still weird because if you're holding onto that rope and they start dragging you, you're dragging behind them. Your inertia is leading you to the opposite side you want to swing to. So if you're strong enough to compensate for your own weight and acceleration, and somehow swing yourself around, you might either get crushed by whatever is dragging you. If you're lucky, you're still moving in the direction you don't want to go but slower. Also the odds of all that happening BEFORE your friend gets run over is, well, you'd have to be God. I could have also read your post wrong and have been totally off, but all I'm really left to go on is assumption because there's not much specification. But that's the only part of your post I have any real questions about. I'd let it go were I not reading your post over and over again trying to figure out what you were going to say and thinking to myself, "wait, what are they trying to do?"

| I wasn't thinking about the potential weight of the block when I made my post, and I don't exactly get the angle it is coming at. There is none that hit's Cassandra first, since she's farther away.
Anyways I fixed my post.

| Mythbusters once suspended a car in the air with a hundred strands of duct tape. While the duct tape held up, the adhesive didn't last long before the car fell down, especially on such a surface like the painted metal.
The comparison is that the web is supposedly adhesive enough to stop the force of the 33,000 lb. boulder when it's attached to the snow and ice covered ground.

| Two posts ago on Shade's part the ice was just crossing the line between the two sides. He describes it as inching forward every few seconds. Now my characters started 20 feet away from there, and have only backed up. According to that the ice shouldn't reached there yet.
If it had it would need to be posted as such.

| The webs don't need solid anchoring. Just like that wall that stopped Abe wasn't attached to the walls of the arena.
She can stop that stone one way or another with her web, it'd be easier if I didn't have to edit again.

| 1) It's had a pretty drastic kickback on Val, who is now a sitting duck, and will be for the rest of the fight. 2) As Pachem pointed out, snow's been falling the entire fight. The more snow falls, the colder it makes the air around it, the more that facilitates more snow falling. Etc. Half the Arena is covered in black ice at this point, with snow falling, which (and I'm no meteorologist) I assume is conducive to snow coming through 3) He's only enforcing the extreme cold that I detailed in the area close to him, within the range of Cassandra's powers-the expansion of the black ice slowed while he turned his focus to the area closer to him. 4) Val is capable of freezing things very quickly, as evidenced by his forming ice armor/spikes out of the snow earlier when he rushed to Drake's aid, he merely prefers to do it slowly and erode his enemies' endurance and will to fight while preserving his own.

| Actually, yes, webs do need good anchoring. Especially if they're supposed to stop boulders. Here, I made a comic for you explaining why. It has lots of colors and very little words: - The comic:

Anyways, Eli and Ariella are now at the ruins. I had Claire note that the viewing window is freezing. I hope that's not a problem.

| I mean it's not for Val but it's probably going to piss off the guy who has to replace the Academy's windows, which, let's face it, is probably the most taxing job in entire Academy. I mean even if this guy can fix glass with his mind (a really focused but profitable power) he'd be busy around the clock dealing with asshole kids constantly breaking windows with laser beams and freezing them into a zillion pieces.
I feel like he should make a cameo at some point.

I feel like he should make a cameo at some point. Pablo the underappreciated handyman. If I didn't have fifty zillion frickin characters I'd make that.

| I considered making an omniscient meta-dog who just wandered around the Academy but considered himself too above anything to ever actually help/be involved with the plot, but I think Lone said no meta-animals. Killjoy. | |

I made an omniscient pig in an rp before. His name was Will.

| I don't think you got was I was saying. The webs are created with darkness manipulation, a make believe energy, not unlike some of the other powers out there. They behave like webs in some ways, other ways they don't. Shadows don't have anchors, neither do these have to. I did it this way for flavor, and because I knew that giving her both traditional webs and solidifying darkness individually would be too much.
Now look, the amount of arguing in the past three days has been horrendous. I'm not denying my role in it, I am a prime contributor. However, it has gone too far. You had every reason to question my earlier post, but how is this affecting you in any major way? My characters aren't going to get hit by the stone one way or another, or they'd be killed. Given that, is it really necessary to battle me on this one?
As much as I like to stick to realism, I don't remember anything about this being all about realism in the OP. I can instead attach the block to another block or two, or another alternative. I'd prefer not to, because when everything that is off has to be debated over and revised sometimes multiple times you begin to lose optimism about the future of an RP. Or at least I have.

| Let's chill a bit with the pointless arguments and debates...
Anyway, I have to know: is there going to be any other arena fights after the one with Drake n' friends end?

| I think the concern with realism comes from, if we don't enforce it now, when are we going to? Obviously with teenagers running around hurling lasers at each other, we're not being super realistic, but without some form of realism there's nothing grounding the RP. Realism's necessary to counter godmodding, metagaming, etc, etc. If there were no realistic consequences (even in terms of physics) then, for me at least, the RP would immediately lose all of its fun, because there's nothing holding our characters back. Sans realism, superpowers aren't so super anymore.
Sorry if you've found the level of arguing to be unbearable, this is the first real conflict we've had in the RP and I view it more as working out the kinks. I understand your frustration, but I'm fine for leaving the focus on realism where it is, given that without it, things are going to spiral out of control very quickly. Obviously there's a balance that has to be toed between realism and having fun (notice how none of our characters are doing actual classes, which would just be boring), but the more realism gets bent the less fair the RP becomes. #mytwocents
