Abraham Gene

What Abe didn't expect was Vance's ability to sink into the ground! He hit the ground hard once more, just barely cringing at the impact, and unlike last time, was incapable of rolling himself back onto his feet when another one of Vespera's webs coated him. He momentarily struggled not sure of what happened (as his was facing the ground with his back in the air), but it didn't take long to notice the dark webs sticking to the surface of the ground and pinning him as if it were a net. If the growl that followed were any indicator, Abe was pissed now. On top of the metal coward consistently running away like kitten, the creepy spider girl (whom upon seeing her transformation, he no longer felt any desire to bed) was starting to become a real annoyance. Clenching his fists and tensing his body, he let out a roar as large spikes and small jagged spires dramatically erupted from his back and ripped apart the webs that had restrained him, making him appear as nothing more than a small mountain on the battle field. Slowly retracting back into his body, Abe stood himself back up to face Vespera and momentarily look at Valery.

Cassandra was slowly making her advance, albeit clumsily across the ice covered ground, towards Valery who rested still as a statue and continuing the development of the blizzard. He had to provide some cover for him while taking care of the Vespera pest. Drake was charging towards her, so he should have her adequately distracted. If not... then well maybe he'd be able to provide a good enough distraction for Drake to nail her!

Abe firmly planted his feet into the ground and faced the large stone blocks barely less than twenty feet away. Shooting his arms forward, he had, from a distance, pulled one of the giant boulders from where it had previously sat and flung it across the field along the ground, aligned in a diagonal trajectory that would cause it to intercept Cassandra as well as bulldoze Vespera if she were able to notice it and move in time. Vespera at least had the advantage of having more time to dodge as well as not being in as hazardous terrain as Cassandra was, who could either get hit or try dodging it and risk losing her footing in the hazardous ice and snow. Vance, though, wasn't his concern right now. The man was a coward! He may been made of metal, but Abe also doubted his ability to come out fast enough and be strong enough to stop him.

Damon Viscous

What was that sound? Oh, right. That was the sound of a student bragging about they beat up another student. At this, Damon grimaced. Neal may have presented himself as a pretty nice kid, but his comments alone had shown Damon he was pretty abusive of his powers. He was actually pretty sorry to hear that, but he was also pretty sorry to be subject to the question of "what was everyone's power?" He personally didn't care for the question as it seemed as trivial as "what is your blood type or hair color", but honestly, he also didn't care very much for his own power since it has created more trouble than it was worth. It was with this he decided not to share his power with the students as it tended to scare them away or something of those lines. He simply introduced himself to the other students, "Hey, I'm Mr. Viscous."

The fight was becoming quite a spectacle. Valery got better at rapidly developing blizzards, the arena was already coated and treacherous and Cassandra was making a pretty daring move towards him. Vance worked pretty well together, Vance sinking into the ground, causing rock man to fly over while getting pinned by Vespera's web. Drake was trying to pull her attention with an interesting movement pattern - it might've been easier to move in a straight line and then break to the side when she made a move, it would've been faster at least, but this at least had the pro of being a tad more unpredictable. Moving side to side like that though created a bunch of inertia in different direction, his reflexes might not be so good. Rock man's display of pretty impressive - it got rid of the webs and might be enough to pull Vespera's attention away from Drake even for just a moment. He then pointed towards the peculiar stone blocks and their use became a lot more clear to Damon. The block were there to make full use of the guy's power - that made sense. If this were a concrete training room, Damon realized, this match would be a completely different ball game.

The call of a familiar voice sounded from the other end of the arena lobby. It belonged to an older man, and turning to figure out who he was, he learned that the newcomer was none other than Adam Blackmore! Now he's seen him in meetings and such, but Damon never actually had the honor of officially meeting him. He closed his eyes as the wind was summoned to extinguish the cigarette Claire had (thank god too, the hive was becoming a little agitated).

"Nice to see you Adam," Damon said, "my name's Damon Viscous, I'm not sure if you've seen me around. I work as the head network manager in control room fifteen."

Jesse Sutor

Oh, well, shit. That's why she was afraid of word getting out. Now that he thought he did feel a little weird - a good weird - whenever Jesse was around her. That could've been it or, well, it also could not. He felt a little weird around everybody and considering how she was super nice, a friend, and actually fairly pretty a good weird might be expected-- B-B-BUT NO, wait, okay, let's hold on a second. That aside as a another conversation that'll come hopefully never (because that's awkward), what she was saying made sense and it held water pretty good with her story. She said she didn't want to relive through something again and it had to do with her power which she usually kept secret from everybody (which made Jesse feel a little proud and happy), and that she's afraid of her being used for her power by somebody. Possible ex-lover? Rapist? Sociopath? Whatever, but it's obvious she has issues with trusting people. This business about overcharge though, that just sounded foreboding at hell and if Lily is more afraid of that than being manipulated, it can't be anything good.

Boom.

Okay seriously, no joking around, this is serious. He was about to say something, maybe something along the lines of "I never knew" which was just incredibly stupid - of course I never knew - all he could really think of to say was "well fuck" but that probably wouldn't even work so well given how he was practically rendered speechless by her explanation. Still he struggled and started saying, "I..."

Then there was a voice at the door, a voice that sounded familiar. The door suddenly opened and Merry was at the doorway slightly alarmed but making a pretty good effort to maintain a normal posture. She said something about not expecting a visitor and Jesse heard just the faintest murmur coming from Lily. Something like "If" and "doing that" and "on the door". This of course began to alarm Jesse, whose eyes were at this point wide open and cheeks red. He stammered, "W-what? What's going... to... huh?"

Then he realized he sounded like an utter idiot and stopped trying to speak. Get your-fucking-self together.

"Hi Merry." Jesse said meekly.

Okay, maybe Lily wouldn't mind talking about it even if Merry was here? They were friends, roommates even and Merry didn't even hear the important stuff. Maybe she wouldn't mind? Amimoore, who tried to read Jesse's mind and read Lily's - then blackmailed her - was starting to becoming a serious problem. They had to figure out a way to take care of her without putting Lily at risk. There was telling a teacher, but that'd probably just instigate Amimoore's wrath...

"But, uh, yeah. I... I really don't know what to..." Jesse paused for a moment, then his face twisted into a smirk. "Wait. Maybe, actually. Amimoore, that... 'poo-tah' something - I think she's afraid of me. Maybe I could 'talk' to her."

Vespera, Cassandra, and Vance

Black strands continued to weave around the edges of Vespera's shield to compensate for being a wider target. However, the shotgun style of attack that Drake used made it impossible to cover herself entirely. Even though she side stepped the relatively slow moving attack taking the brunt of it with her shield, some orbs managed to find marks on her legs inward facing of the barrage. The scorch damage would be hard to notice on her midnight exoskeleton, but that didn't mean they weren't there. Vespera felt the heat through her carapace and hissed vehemently. A single drop of acid rolled of her mandibles and fizzled against the arena floor.

Her eight eyes gave her a wide range of vision, and the ability to focus on more than one thing at a time. It was only natural that Abe would attack somebody else while his primary target was out of his grasp, so she kept watch on him as he escaped from her web. When he went for the stone slab, Vespera released her shield in midair to protect herself from the stream of plasma Drake was using to propel himself back. Before he released it she had lined up that it would hit both herself and Cassandra if she didn't act. While she could dodge it rather easily, Cassandra had no such luxury while standing on the slick ice. Vespera jumped back to avoid the boulder, and in doing so opened herself up to further attack from Drake.

Vance didn't have the speed or strength to try and stop Abe from throwing the stone, he was able to take advantage of it though. He emerged right behind his target and threw a heavy handed metal punch at the middle of the golems back.

Meanwhile on the other side of the battle Cassandra trudged along slowly as not to trip and fall. Were this a true fight she would be chilled to the bone in her typical attire, and in high heels it'd be hopeless to cross the ice. As it were though, her suit provided some insulation and traction. In combination with turning of her pain receptors, and improving her coordination, she was doing better than one might expect. Valery hadn't moved that far back, so it wasn't long before she was in range to make optimum use of her power either. Her plan was to slow down his brain already sluggish from the cold, and put him to sleep. What she saw through her allies vision changed that. She would get nailed, or likely end up on the ice trying to avoid it.

Rather than trying to quickly side step it and end up falling flat on her face, she hit the deck. The extremely cold, hard deck. Before she had even gotten back up she was shaking all over. Most of the heat was sucked out of her like a straw. Wobbly legs caused her to slip for real. All she could do was try again. This time she stopped the involuntary movement in her lower half, so she wouldn't trip, the rest of her body she let shake as it was the bodies natural way of saying warm. Not that it'd help her much in this temperature. She entered Val's mind to slow down the rate of his neurons firing, however it seemed he was already heading that direction. Her best bet was to get away while she still could. It was safe to bet that even if she sense of pain back on she wouldn't feel a thing.

Jaylin and Kynan
-

Jaylin grinned as the guy with the vending machine woke up, perfectly fine. That was quite a power he had.

"Dude, you could sleep anywhere!" He remarked, ignoring the comments Kynan sent to his head about being more careful. It was then that he heard a familiar voice- none other than Adam Blackmore. The twins exchanged glances in response to how Vending machine dude talked to him.

He must not know that Adam is a teacher, Jay.

Probably. Think we should try and help him keep from getting in trouble or snapped at or something?

Hm... Sure. Why not?

Kynan smiled at Adam, "Hi, Mister Blackmore. How are you?"

The twins held quite a bit of respect for Adam since he had helped out Jaska with the Amimoore problem, so both couldn't help but feel a bit guilty in the main reason they were talking to him- to try to let the vending machine guy's comment go unnoticed. Jaylin, meanwhile, wa trying to talk to the vending machine guy (who by now I certainly hope everyone knows is Anthony).

"Hey. I'm Jaylin. Dude, your power is awesome!" A simple, easy way to butt into a conversation.

((Short post. Meh)

Merry visibly relaxed in the doorway when she noticed it was only Jesse in the room with Lily, it could have been worse. It could have been someone she or Lily didn't recognize. If she had walked in on something awkward or dangerous Merry wouldn't have known what to do. During the little training session she had been introduced to him, and then the three of them started acting like a mini team during it. Maybe as a form of comfort for each other and to keep each other in check. Merry had to leave as soon as she was finished training however, so she never found out how the two of them did with their own training. At least they were still considering each other allies at the school. Merry frowned at herself for a moment, wondering why she chose the world ally to describe their relationship. It was as if they were in a war or something. Merry quickly returned her mind back to the current situation. Merry knew she could recognized Jesse's face, but his name took a moment to return to her.

"It's nice to see you Jesse." Merry said with a grin, sensing the heavy feel of awkwardness in the air. What on earth had she interrupted? She could hear both Lily and Jesse sputter and mutter various things, most likely caused by Merry's sudden arrival and awkward return. Jesse looked particularly flustered, and Lily just looked a bit annoyed. Merry bit her tongue, keeping herself from saying anything else embarrassing. Merry took her silence as a chance to try and figure out what is going on. Was something going on between Lily and Jesse? He suddenly brought up Animoore, a name she recognized but couldn't out a face. Maybe a student or teacher at the academy. And the way he said talk, what was happening? Merry kept quiet, hoping to get answers without asking.

"So you just pass out, from time to time? It could be worse..." Trace said to Anthony before heading back to the viewing window "Trust me." Trace looked through the transparent pane that was used to create a safe viewing area. He tapped his knuckles on the clear material "Yeah, like this going to stop one of concrete blocks that's getting thrown around like nothing. Then again, I doubt they trust regular ol' glass around here." Trace though before hitting the transparent viewing material a bit harder again.

Valery Arsov

Foolish girl.

There's a reason the Imperial Guard and the blitzkrieg alike came to a screeching halt in Val's homeland. Cassandra was about to gain a crash course on what attrition does to overextended armies.

You forget I know your powers, Cassandra. And you seem to ignore mine.

All the biomancy in the world couldn't change physics-and now that Val had Cassandra on his half of the Arena, close enough to use her abilities, she was in for a somewhat unpleasant surprise. Val, frost coating his beard and hair, hands curled/frozen into fists, gauntleted in ice, managed a slight smile, his one eye (which had mostly frozen by now, restricting Val's field of vision, and giving him a tad bit of brainfreeze) staring Cassandra down, betraying a flicker of his emotions.

Winter came roaring in. Val knew that the longer Cassandra stayed, the more harm she could do to his body. But what Cassandra did not seem to know was that Val's own body was not immune to the hellish winter he was conjuring, and it was no exception now. Feeling a psychic strain as he pushed his abilities as quickly as they could go, Val battled the slowly, if surely, fatigue induced by Cassandra as he fought to shut down his body before she could. The temperature plummeted downwards rapidly around Val, quickly expanding outwards in a corona of subzero air. The wind began to howl and scream around him, slicing through whatever insulation may have been provided by the Arena's suits, and the sleet thickened into hail on Val's side of the Arena. The black ice began to thicken, jagged bits spiking upwards in an attempt to pierce Cassandra's suit, which would quickly sap away what little body heat she had left, and make moving over to where he was by anyone else difficult indeed.

Marble-sized hailstones falling from seemingly thin air, the now well below freezing winds of Valery's half of the Arena certainly took their toll on their master-but he intended for them to. None of Cassandra's hormone alterations were going to work when his own body couldn't get them to work; none of her neuron tinkering would work when his own body was hibernating. Legs frozen solid, every drop of blood and every inch of sinew hardened as if everything from the waist down had been hurled into a meat freezer-no, it was colder than that-hurled into the heatless void of space for several years. The several inches thick layer of snow around Valery hardened, and someone who had visited might perhaps recognize what the young Russian was building towards. The shoddy, if not entirely useless, second skin of ice that Val had constructed around himself began freezing to the thick ice and snow around it. All the while, hail and snow came down, bringing with them the last vestiges of heat in the Arena.

Sure, Val was essentially paralyzed. But his adversaries were headed the same way. Val began to feel slightly sluggish, Cassandra's neuromancy taking hold, but he knew the restrictions to her powers. She would need to maintain a line of sight, and stay in close proximity. Either she would try and bring him down and freeze in the process, or back off and give Val more time to wear down the enemies. He was, now, entirely defenseless against the other enemies-no, that wasn't correct. Val was entirely offenseless against the others. Should someone come to him and start pounding away at him, Val wouldn't have been able to lift a finger to fight back.

A thick cloud of diamond dust began swirling around Valery, dancing outwards towards the Arena's midway line, as the glacier thickened around him, spreading into and out of his core, pinning his waist into the small wall of ice and snow behind it. Val's features were, pardon the pun, frozen in place, just as if he'd been petrified, but there was no denying the last expression he'd had on his face: one of focused triumph. As Cassandra's power began to slowly erode at him (impeded by Val's intentional slowing of his own bodily processes; at the biochemical level, everything has windows. Limits. By plummeting his body past the point of normal chemical limits, where his power kept him alive rather than any traditional rule of human biochemistry, he'd be leading Cassandra into uncharted waters-and those waters were getting pretty chilly), the spread of black ice to the far side of the Arena slowed down, but he wasn't worried. No, it would get there soon enough. Unless they talked Drake into playing human blowtorch for them, Val's enemies weren't getting rid of this ice anytime soon. And that meant they weren't getting rid of him.

Stay in the fight, comrades. We can still lose this fight. Just try not to get your asses kicked for a few minutes more, eh?

Arianna Madrigal

"Ooh, the master illusionist. Don't let Copperfield and Houdini hear you saying that." Arianna's tone, however, wasn't scathing, but rather playful. She, having just realized how easily she was duped by Jake's illusory abilities, had a deepened admiration for his abilities. The fountain in the practice rooms was one thing, but this was something cool. Something...something...practical? No, that wasn't the right word. But Arianna, who wasn't one to think of fighting very often, realized how Jake could be deadlier than Titus in a fight. Making people fight each other, or terrifying whole armies with visions of bombers flying overhead...she shivered. Jake seemed too nice to do any of that, but she realized how bad an enemy he could be. She had a feeling she was going to wind up thinking that about most people in the Academy-but Jake didn't scare her the way Titus did. Maybe it was something about the raw strength he had as opposed to the clever skill Jake possessed, or the drastic difference in their actions, but Jake was cool.

But the thought of powers and what they could do, not to mention a brief use of her own gifts, got Arianna thinking about the Symphony (something that often held her attention-it was so fascianting), the individual songs of the people around her, and how they wove into the Symphony as a whole. And yet Jake's seem troubled, seemed different from when she'd last heard it...and yeah, the more she watched him, his body language betrayed a little of his upsetness. "Hey..." Arianna asked, her own tone surprising her. It was a little softer and gentler than she'd been earlier, teasing and joking. "You...you okay? Not that you should be with the knight in shining armor around, but..." Arianna's first guess, however, wasn't the existential dilemma that confronted Jake (her own power basically guaranteed the opposite for her). "Like, if you really don't want to go to the ruins, that's cool." Arianna thought it was a little weird Jake was rattled enough for his song to reflect it, but hey, maybe he had a bad experience in a haunted house or something as a kid. It was a little emasculating, yeah, but if he wanted to back out now, she wasn't about to stop him. Arianna slowed down a moment, not wanting to embarass Jake in front of Gabe and everybody-oohhh, she hadn't thought of that-neither did she want Gabe to see her and Jake lagging behind. Talk about a catch-22.

Arianna decided, since their hands were still around one another's, that a bit of honesty like that was probably okay, and what she was doing wasn't super out of line or anything. She, hesitating for a second (and her own body language would betray her now, her teeth biting her lips and eyes flickering around for a moment) before squeezing Jake's hand a bit tighter. "Seriously? You all good? Your Song....sounds a little different."

Neal and Claire

Everything was getting extremely overwhelming. Suddenly it seemed like ten people were all talking to Neal at once, and he quickly began to dart from face to face, trying to find someone familiar to talk to. Trace was shaking a vending machine (Neal was half-tempted to ask Trace to grab him a Pepsi), some random guy was passing out, Claire was blowing smoke into the air, and two other people had just arrived. Neal vaguely remembered them from training. They seemed to have some sort of enhanced reflexes or something. Damon directed him to a familiar face, Mr.Blackmore himself. Dammit I hope he didn't hear me talking about Titus. Neal thought to himself as Adam blew Claire's cigarette out.

"Um, hi, Mr.Blackmore." Neal said, obviously going through a bit of system overload with the crowd of people all trying to talk to him "Have you come to-to watch your son um...um...Drake fight? He's doing a pretty good job." Meanwhile, Claire's eyes were transfixed on the battlefield. She watched as the fight raged and a massive ice storm covered the arena. 'Team Edgar Allan Poe', as Damon so eloquently pointed out, looked like they were pretty much screwed. Creepy girl number one was going to freeze, creepy girl number two was going to get crushed by a block of concrete, and creepy guy was...a puddle. For several moments Claire didn't even realize that her cigarette had been extinguished. She turned after a moment, and saw that it was no longer lit.

"Oh what the Hell m-" Claire began before meeting Adam's face and filling with unbridled terror "Oh, um, hey there Mr.B. Can I call you that?" She laughed awkwardly and flicked the cigarette into a trash can, trying to look as innocent as possible. She backed against the viewing window and felt as her jacket was quickly covered in a layer of condensation. The other side of the window was freezing, causing water vapor on the other side to condense.

"So, um, how are you liking the battle?" Claire asked, still giggling awkwardly "That plasma dude's pretty rad, eh?"

Eli and Ariella

Finally, after a long and pointless trip that took them in circles three times, Eli and Ariella arrived at the last place the little ghost girl had seen her mommy: The Ruins. She was still weeping bitterly, and despite Eli's attempts to make her smile did nothing of the sort. Ariella followed Eli as if he were a hound dog, completely unaware whether or not he was a super-awesome ghost hunter of a complete and total whackjob. She hoped he was the ghost hunter, though; he was cute, and whackopathy was a waste of cuteness. She liked how calm and gentle he appeared to be, as well as his stunning blue eyes and short choppy blonde hair that stuck up every which way. He seemed calm and sweet, two things that Ariella loved. She stuck close to him, not wanting to get lost in these somber, overgrown ruins. It was still light out, but something seemed to make this place still feel dark and ominous.

Eli arrived in a clearing between two destroyed buildings. This is where the ghost girl had stopped. "Mommy!" she called out in a wispy, phantomlike voice "Mommy? Where are you, mommy?"

"It's okay." Eli said, stooping down next to the little girl "We'll find your mommy very soon, okay? He tapped her on the nose (well as much as you can tap a ghost on the nose) and rose to full height once more. He caught out of the corner of his eye that Ariella was staring at him. So it seemed as if the staring contest had switched. He tried to stay on the task at hand, but couldn't help occasionally drawing towards her. It was almost instinctual that he wanted to keep staring at her. She was just so damn pretty. Part of his mind thought fun, dirty things to do (they were alone in the ruins, after all) but he'd never do that to a woman until the day he got married (which seemed unlikely to him) and even if he did the ghost girl would be able to see. 'Whoever harms one of these little ones that believes in me, it would be better for him if a millstone were tied around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the ocean.'

"So which one of us would win in a staring contest?" Eli mused as he looked around the ruins. He could really use a detective or something right now. Wasn't that Jasmine girl one? Ariella shook her head, realizing that she had been staring, and laughed. She had a cute laugh, not dissimilar to a schoolgirl's giggle.

"We'll have to find out later." she said, playing with her long orange braid.

"Sounds like a plan." Eli muttered as he stuck his head in the ruined remains of a window. He had absolutely no idea what he was looking for, and so he walked back to the ghost girl.

"Where around here was your mommy?" Eli asked. The little girl looked around, and shook her head.

"I...I don't know." she sobbed "Mommy? Mommy!" Eli grimaced and stood back up. Suddenly, he heard the sound of conversation and feet crunching in the snow.

"We've got company." he said "There are other people here. Let's hope they're friendly."

"As opposed to...?" Ariella replied, her face flushed with a tad of anxiety.

"Serial killers." Eli stated flatly as he crouched down and looked at the snow. No footprints; this ghost girl and her mommy must've died long ago.

"You're joking, right?" Ariella nervously replied, backing against the wall.

"Not at all. These ruins have a dark past. I'll be able to tell if anything supernatural is coming. Just...don't die."

"That's real encouraging." Eli took a few steps down an alley and looked around, trying to see who was coming. It sounded like quite a few people, some running and some walking. There seemed to be something holy with them, for he felt a glowing in his heart when he looked their way. Hopefully it would be an angel that would help out.

Adam Leo Blackmore.

Unexpectedly, there was a lot thrown Adam's way that was worth responding to (Even if some of it was irritating).

A narrow stare was thrown in the direction of Anthony. That sarcastic comment of his really irritated Adam - Because nothing irritated him more than a student thinking it's cool to disrespect them. Adam adjusted his spectacles, "Yes, the medal for sending another disrespectful student to the detention center for vandalism." Adam turned. He had indeed heard of Damon, since his employment was a special case, and Adam was high-up on the foodchain in this Academy. So it's reasonable to say that he'd hear of a person like Damon. "It is great to meet you, Damon." Adam says, "You've came to watch the fight?" Adam says, noting the bag that Damon brought, that was presumably full of food. He straightened his posture, "Some people do watch the arena fights like a sport..."

"Um, hi, Mr.Blackmore." Neal said, obviously going through a bit of system overload with the crowd of people all trying to talk to him "Have you come to-to watch your son um...um...Drake fight? He's doing a pretty good job."

"Yes, it is his first fight in the arena." Adam says, turning to Neal. He noted that Neal was a bit nervous, likely from all the people that have crowded up together up here. He understood that. "I will be here to give my support. Even if he doesn't know it." Adam made the air in the observational deck flow better, so everyone would have a better time breathing.

"Oh what the Hell m-" Claire began before meeting Adam's face and filling with unbridled terror "Oh, um, hey there Mr.B. Can I call you that?"

"So, um, how are you liking the battle?" Claire asked, still giggling awkwardly "That plasma dude's pretty rad, eh?"

Adam had noted, the air in the room warmed up a bit so nobody would get the shivers. Everyone nearby would notice it. "Please, call me Adam, or Blackmore." Adam corrected Claire, not wanting to be called 'Mr. B'. He i "In fact, I am, Miss Sparks. I wish to see more of - what did you call him? 'Plasma dude' - battling in the arena after more of my careful training." He smiled a bit, but straightened his face just as fast to correct that.

Drake Deltori Blackmore.

The time that Vespera was distracted by Abe, she left herself open enough for Drake to get in a quick attack. A crackling sound came out of him, as electricity arced across his plasma enshrouded being. He pointed both hands at her, as all the plasma funneled into his hands. He fired off a stream of electricity directly at Vespera, going fast as one would expect it to go. Wasn't a lethal amount, but it'd sure as hell distract for a second. As an alternative to the middle finger, Drake decided to gloat, "What's the matter? Can't take a little bug zapper?" He balled his fist and enshrouded it with electricity. He was ready for Vespera to pull another attack, and he was already poised to dodge, but he was also ready to zap her again and again.

For the lolz

Oh god. Jake stopped dead in his tracks, and kept his hand grasped tightly on her's (Her hand feels nice, yes? So soft and gentle...). Illusion, or no? Illusion, or no? Illusion, or no...? He felt like he had a bit of another conflict on his hand. Whether or not he should should tell Arianna about his problem (And make her think he's crazy). He certainly didn't want to approach the group until he's gotten this sorted out. He wasn't sure what'd she'd really think if he split his guts - But he had the uplifting feeling in his heart that she'd be able to help him in some way, her music may be able to do something. As he looked at her, it appeared that she wasn't there, and he was touching nothing, but he stayed confident in himself. He knew she was there. Jake didn't have to blink, or look at his pocket-watch - Arianna just reappeared in his vision.

"Look..." Jake says, very, very hesitant about what he was about to tell her. There was that part of his mind that just wanted to say 'never mind' but he already started. See it through to the end. "You're totally going to think I'm crazy for this... But... I..." How the hell do I put this? "...My power, it doesn't... Makes me, see things that aren't really there - Or makes me think some things aren't real. I've been worried that you're just..." Jake faded off, he definitely wasn't sure if he should have even said anything. He looked away from Arianna, embarrassed and ashamed.

"Sorry... I shouldn't have opened my mouth."

Sage Lucas Pimm, Gabriela Mya, & Jaska Din Valos.

Eli wasn't the only one who could sense from a distance. Jaska had sensed Eli and Ariella. Albeit with an enhanced version of the basic senses. He had heard them kicking through the snow and chatting (Though he couldn't make out what), and he could faintly smell them. Jaska's playful smile turned into a blank, more serious expression, as his eyes widened. There was an instinct driving through his young head. The kind of instinct that told a territorial animal that rivals were stalking his grounds. If his own natural willpower wasn't enough; he would have surely made an approach himself. He quickly rose to his feet, feeling as if fun and games is over. His ears twitched as he fully spread his wings, a threatening display because of how wide his wings are. "Hey, there's someone back there!" He announced, pointing his clawed fingers at the source. His tail had went under one of his arms, and pointed forward in another threatening display.

Since Gabe was always the type to trust Jaska's senses (Since they were, quite frankly superior to hers on many levels). Her own instincts were telling her to keep her guard up. Because, quite frankly, if she didn't then she'd be dead ages ago. She has not a clue who these people are. She never trusted anyone who she could never see (Or hung in her bad eye). So she was going to gauge how trustworthy these types. Gabe took a step in front of Jaska, with her fist ball. She loudly yelled at the newcomers, "Alright! We know ya' there, come out!" If they didn't come well... That'd be reason enough to start shooting lasers.

Just as a warning. Anyone with a brain would know that they shouldn't f*ck with Gabriela Valos on a bad day.

Sage's eyes drifted to the newcomers in the distance. They had sensed... An immensely holy presence, a pure presence, and an unnatural presence - The kind of presence that ghosts give, because phantasms weren't supposed to be here. After death, a soul passes on to the other side. Heaven or Hell - Not in between. However, Sage knew who, so far, possessed a holy presence like that was Eli - And they had recognized it. A half-smile on crept on Sage's face, since they were glad to see Eli here, even though they don't know why. It is okay, Eli, it is I, the Heavensent. My light calms the wrathful and makes the greedy generous. We will not harm you, or your company. Living, or in death. They hadn't said a word, because, there'd be nothing to say at this distance.

"I..." Lily looked to the side, nervous. She was unsure of if she should say yes or no. Because she felt like this might be a thing that she should handle herself - Just confident in yourself. Confront Amimoore, you can beat her. But, she didn't know what Amimoore was capable of really. Amimoore could get Lily kicked out - But then that meant that Lily won in the long run actually, because no one here could manipulate her and she'd become a ghost yet again - That, or Amimoore manipulates the system to make Lily's life hell. "You can... If you want to. But don't cause a scene, handle it quietly, and don't get the teachers involved." Lily had the fleeting feeling that the teachers would do more harm than good.

Arianna Madrigal

Oh. Jake stopped cold, and his Song took a lurch downwards, slowing into something mournful and disjointed. Yeah, she'd....she'd hit a sore spot. Arianna's perception of the supernatural song faded, however, as Jake's words were more important than what his Song said-she'd failed to interpret the Song correctly before, or otherwise made mistakes. The issue of their still holding hands (which felt very right...even if she was extremely nervous about it,and not entirely sure where the sudden lightheadedness came from) faded from the foreground as Jake hesitated, then said what was on his mind.

"No. You....you don't sound crazy at all," Arianna said, genuinely meaning it. It took her a moment to stop and think about the implications of that, of having mastery of illusions-but also their having mastery over you. Arianna's power worked the opposite way: she couldn't weave illusions, but she could perceive and alter what was already there, at a cosmic level. Arianna wasn't fully aware of her capabilities, and what she could do with the Symphony-the ditzy girl had no idea she, perhaps alone, held knowledge to the answers to all the questions scientists could ever offer, all the dilemmas philosophers had ever posed-if she had merely the wisdom and strength to seek the answers out. She only knew, at some instinctual level, that the Symphony felt right, it felt like all the dangerous fun of going a hundred and ten down the highway in the dead of night with none of the risk, none of the repercussions. It was the counsel of an old friend and the secrecy of a diary buried under the bed, never spoken of to anyone, and the reliability of an old dog with the vigor of a young one. It had never lied to her, merely been misinterpreted, out of confirmation bias or weariness or emotion, and she could hardly blame it for that.

In short: it didn't lie. But Jake's powers did. Arianna squeezed his hand tighter and thought for a moment, settling on a song that was comforting and gentle, but...real. One she'd written. Arianna figured if he wasn't sure if she was real (and a brief flash of existential terror made her wonder if even she wasn't, if Jake's power was that grandiose, that all her memories and thoughts were mere constructs, but decided that was a silly waste of time), then something, to use a cliche, from the heart would convince him. She sang softly, gently, feeling the psychic stress seep in as she used her powers outside of conventional means. She reached into the Symphony, trying to override the bit of Jake's Song with hers, merging them together. She wanted to calm him, ease his restless thoughts. Around them, the bitter cold eased back as she sang, matching the highs and lows of her voice, and the snow falling around them hurried or slowed to mimic the tempo. Arianna finished the song fairly quickly, and lingered for a moment, holding Jake's hand in the snow, slightly out of breath (for several reasons) and feeling rather like sitting down in all that snow would be quite nice. "For what it's worth, I promise I'm real. I can't imagine how that feels...your power working like that. I don't think you're crazy though. I mean, think about it...you'd have to be Shutter Island crazy to imagine me." Arianna hoped a bit of humor would help if her Song failed.

Abraham Gene

While his initial tactic was successful, albeit with mixed results, Abe experienced an unexpected sensation. Much akin to that of being stricken with a sledgehammer. The heavy punch had indeed found its mark on Abe's back - the strength or force behind it regardless - he was caught flat-footed and the sheer weight behind the strike was enough to knock him away, causing him to slide across the hazardous, ice coated terrain whilst stunned. The roughness of the stone and the traction it provided was nulled by the slick surface, leaving him to scramble for proper footing and sliding past Cassandra and into one of the four other stone blocks dead in the center of the arena. Using that block as support to help prop himself to his feet, the bottom of his feet developed rows of short spikes, crunching into the ice underneath his weight.

He returned his gaze back Vance at the opposing side of the arena, standing in open! He was responsible! The coward couldn't even face him directly... so be it! Abraham has half tempted to throw another boulder, but his efforts into tackling him before showed he would avoid it... except, he just realized, there was no more metal. Snow and ice covered the arena in inches. In fact, now would probably be the perfect time to strike him! But Val forcing himself out of commission for the good of the team, well, that means he still had the other two to worry about. There had to have been some book high school forced him to read that had some kind of lesson regarding this. Well, maybe, sort of. This was a fight.

There was Ender's Game. What did Ender say again? Something about winning all future fights?

Well I guess it wouldn't hurt.

"Drake!" Abe called, finally breaking out from his tunnel vision. "Hold their attention a couple minutes!" That having been said, Abe faced the boulder he was next to. Deep breath. Swinging his arms above him in an arc and with some fair expenditure of his own energy, the concrete followed his lead like a puppet and created a massive dome over his head, and across the surface of the ice beneath his feet. To all outsiders, it looked like a massive igloo of stone with no entrance or exit - a dome or protective shell. However, unbeknownst to them, inside that shell sat Abraham, who kneeled down and curled his arms around his body as he put his energy into his power. The stone that covered him began to thicken as Abe began the first stages of his metamorphosis.

It's time to show these runts just who the Golem is.

Damon Viscous

He could only smirk at half of Adam's banter, it was amusing to hear him refer to his son as the "plasma dude", as proper and white collared as the man presented himself as. Especially after the scolding he gave Anthony off to the side with the vending machine. Damon downed a couple chugs of his tea and shook the can around a little bit, feeling there was about half of its contents left. He looked back at Adam to answer his question.

"Is it that obvious?" Damon mused, sitting on a bench smack dab in the arena lobby overlooking the display being set by the two teams. "I'm not much for sport, I come here mostly to overlook the progress of the students... but I guess you could say I find it a little fun to watch. Your son appears to be doing well. He's even giving Vespera a run for her money."

Damon looked back to the fight as if it emphasize his point, watching Drake unleash a bolt of electricity at the spider girl. So it looked like fire wasn't his power, but plasma! The best of both worlds, it seemed. He let loose a barrage of electricity at Vespera, the combination set by Drake and rock guy seemed to be enough to overwhelm her, but he'd have to watch more to come to any real conclusions. Speaking of rock guy, he didn't seem to see Vance cunning move from behind and slid back to his side of the arena! A much more treacherous place to be given Val's proximity, who had frozen himself solid for the sake of whittling down the other team. Rock guy did, however, seem to counteract that with stone snow boots or cleats or something. It looked like he said something to Drake before enveloping himself in a dome, hidden from prying eyes. What was he planning?

"Say, Adam... do you happen to have that new student's name by any chance?"

Jesse Sutor

He made a light-hearted laugh at Lily's suggestion about not telling the teachers. "Heh, I wouldn't dream of it."

Because that would cause more problems as soon as it got back to Amimoore. What they had to do was to get the point across to leave Lily alone. Jesse was never too good at this sort of thing - in fact, this was only his very first time doing it - but he figured it shouldn't be hard this time. Despite how much was on the line here, he did have one advantage: ever since the incident, the girl was terrified of him. Usually though, he wouldn't be taking advantage of that would try to regain her trust, but the girl had gone way too far now. She was practically being sociopath at this point, and there's no reasoning with a sociopath. That conflict would provide the intimidation factor, where Jesse could use his au natural smooth talking abilities - he learned to do that while trying to reason with angry parents.

"But look, in the meantime we should find a way help you relax a little bit. The cafe sounds good, right? We can get you something warm to drink there in the open where nobody can catch you alone, okay?" Jesse took some time from trying to settle Lily's anxiety to look at Merry and invite her. "Would you like to come Merry? I think we can trust to fill you in, what do you say Lil'?"

Of course it'd be alright to fill her in, Jesse thought, whether or not Lily could overcharge? That's up to Lily, but as far as he was aware, it'd be alright to tell Merry that Lily was blackmailed and leave it at that.

Trace looked at his reflection in the transparent viewing pane, weather this particular pane allowed him to view into a room filled with physically superior humans, who were sparring or a device that exchanged consumable goods for currency, was not important. For he noticed the group of his fellow superior humans and pondered "How long have they been there? Seriously how did I not notice like twenty people until just now!?" Trace had learned one of the individuals amongst the group was of a level of authority as Trace's new narcaleptic aquantince had managed to have a punishment known as "detention" bestowed upon himself by vocalizing a sarcastic comment.

Jaylin and Kynan exchanged nervous glanced when Adam spoke to vending machine guy. Whoops. They weren't a success. At least the guy apologized, and a sigh of relief was released in unison from the duo. Their expressions softened as the conversation calmed down, glad that Adam was being spoken to by other people to keep te guy from getting any farther in trouble. Because of that Kynan moved next to his brother, who was speaking to the vending machine guy.

HalfThere wrote:

"A curse? Well, I'm sure the good outweighs the bad," Jaylin grinned.

Kynan sighed. Some people might not like such childish, naïve encouragement, so he hoped that this particular person didn't mind such talk. His brother wa only trying to encourage, after all. He silently listened as the person spoke.

When asked about the time school starts, Jaylin's eyebrows furrowed in thought as he tried to recal the morning when he and Kynan woke up for classes. "Honestly I don't remember- I just remember me and my brother getting up and ready and then just heading to classes. The time it starts is on the schedule, I think." Jaylin glanced at Kynan, whose eyebrows were also furrowed in thought. Jaylin knew his brother well enough to the point where he didn't even need a telepathic link to be able to tell that he was also unsure. Because of this he also added in, "Kynan doesn't remember, either."

As a way of saying who Kynan was in case this person was unsure, Jaylin nodded his head at his twin. Kynan smiled at the person. It was now his turn to speak up.

"As you can see, I'm Kynan. It's nice to meet you." Kynan nodded at the person. "Thats an cool power you have. My brother and I have a telepathic link and merging ability for our power. When merged we are then telepathic with others." He didn't include his two cents on his and his brother's power: he ha childishly chosen to believe that their power was the best one ever. It wasn't the strongest of powers, but it did do one thing that any other power wouldn't have done for him: it made him closer to his brother than they would be without their power. Such a friendship that siblings at times are unable to achieve really was something that he treasured greatly.

Vespera, Cassandra, and Vance

The shield Vespera made was now heavily damaged. She beckoned for it regardless, as it was her best defense against Drake. When she heard the distinct crackling of electricity she knew it was too late. Unlike slow moving plasma, lightning was one of those point and hit powers. It simply moved to fast for any normal person, and the vast majority of meta-humans to dodge. The shield stopped moving midair as the powerful current knocked her off balance and jolted her nervous system. Her legs were sprawled out on the ground, and various muscles all over jerked involuntarily for several moments. Vespera gave Drake a twitchy glare with her many eyes as she fought to stand back up. "A fly with a bug zapper. How ironic." She was not quite ready to fight again, but her shield could take at least another hit while she recovered. It was quickly pulled towards her before she could be thwarted again.

Cassandra clutched herself trying to retain her inner body heat as she bailed from her earlier plan. From what it looked like Val was immobilizing himself in order to sustain the blizzard. Putting him to sleep wouldn't do much at this point, as she was beginning to shutdown herself. Using her power she speed up her metabolism and other processes in an attempt to create extra warmth. Considering the state of the rest of the arena, she was left with two options. Get back back to her starting side, then either merge with Vance, or get closer to Drake. A buffet of wind toppled her over, and she sluggishly got back up. It was not a moment too soon, as spikes poked up into the soles of her suit. Her senses were already dead, but it couldn't be helping her current situation. If any had gotten through she didn't feel it. However, it had the benefit of offsetting the slickness of the ice. Once she broke through far enough to see the others again, Cassandra determined that leaving behind red snow was worth the extra traction. Marble sized hail began to fall, she hardly noticed. Hypothermia was much more severe than a pelting.

Though a while back she had stopped using her power on Valery, it was just now that she was leaving the limits of her range. The final leg of getting back to her side seemed like an eternity. As her body gave out more and more she was reduced to crawling. It didn't even compute as Abe came sliding past her. She was just about ready to lie down and go to sleep.

At first Vance was surprised that his rocky foe went sliding so far, in the heat of the he didn't consider that the floor had iced over. No more dodging so easily. Well he could merge into the snow, but hen he'd have to find another clear spot to become metal again. The place he could do that was over by Drake, or the walls. No matter, he chased after Abe who was sliding faster than he could run. The grips on the bottom of his suit became incorporated with his transformation, which made him leave imprints and cracks along behind him. Once he had caught up he found himself pulled in two directions. Cassandra didn't look too hot, and wouldn't make it without assistance. However, if he saved her Abe would successfully turtle up. In the end he decided that his teammate was more valuable. After all, he would have to come out some time.

Without any further hesitation he knelt and pulled Cassandra into himself. She'd become alert soon enough as the transition from vulnerable flesh and organs, to a durable homogeneous form worked it's magic. In the meantime Vance started off towards Drake. The key to winning this match could be taking him down before Abe got back into the action.

Drake Deltori Blackmore.

Spoiler:

"Fly? I'm more of a mighty lion, you Cockroach." Drake playfully responds to Vespera's fly comment, after she was given one hell of a shock. His fist kept crackling with electricity. He watched as Vespera hid behind her shield, he was almost tempted to cross his arms to give her a cheekiest smirk of all time. Since his team was really giving it to the Creepy Three. The only place that wasn't frozen over was the area around Drake, since his plasma was giving off so much heat that the ice didn't even bother. That was the only thing good going for Vespera - She had an angry plasma-man right in her face, and he was ready to finish the battle with her, and then kick the Metal-man's ass up and down the arena. That was until Abe told Drake to keep the Creepy Three busy while he underwent some sort of transformation - That must be a hidden trick of yours... Haaa... That means it's time to pull out the big guns. Then he knew that the party was coming to him. Since Val had made himself into a statue to continue the onslaught and Abe was transforming.

Then the time came when Cassandra merged with Vance. Forming a new combination and threat for Drake - Just like the epithet; Genesis. Something new from two things. He knew that he had quite the challenge on his hand, one slip up and he'd be tasting defeat, and worse of all, humiliation. But ha! Defeat. He wouldn't have the name Blackmore, if he just lost. Through hardship, he always find his way to victory. "Haaaa... I bet the three of you will combine together and make something like a Megazord." He erupted in a massive pillar of plasma, six feet in a circle around him, that absolutely concealed his movements. No one would be able to track him. By the time that the plasma dispersed, Drake was at the very top of the room, head a few feet away from the ceiling.

He had his hands outstretched, and body facing towards the combination of Vance and Cassandra. His first objective was getting this douchebag out of the way, at least slow him down - Vespera would be saved for the big finale. He decided to whip out a flashy attack. The plasma around him thickened and intensified, glowing brighter than before. Out of his hands, two enormous streams of plasma emerged from his hands. They took the shape of a Chinese-style Dragon, with mouths open like they were going to eat Vance/Cassandra. They traveled in a wide arc, but in a perfectly  symmetrical motion. But heading straight for the combined duo. One problem was that he was left open from an attack by Vespera. Though, he doubted she could reach him in time. The other problem was that he was getting tired. Such large and flashy attacks were taxing.

He was waiting on Abe, and was hoping that this big plan he was packing was enough to stop them. Because the odds are stacked against Drake.

Adam Leo Blackmore.

Halfthere wrote:

Adam was definitely glad that Anthony apologized instead of escalate things further. Most students usually give up now and keep their comments to them-self (The way it should be). "It is fine." Adam says, "Just don't do it again." For a moment there; he almost thought of making Anthony's time harder the next time he trained under Adam. Which was something that Adam enjoyed doing from time to tome. Since it really put the especially disrespectful students in their place. Even if they complain about it; Adam will be free from punishment because of how respected he was.

Celo wrote:
"Hi, Mister Blackmore. How are you?"

"I am doing fine. I have taken a break to observe this battle." Adam responds to the twins question. He was still searching for Amimoore, and he was glad that he had the help of the twins. For telling him instead of keeping quiet about something as blatant as this. "Once he is done in the arena, I am going straight back to work."

Celo wrote:

While Adam appeared like he wasn't paying too much attention, he heard the entire explanation of the twin's power. There was a lot of conversation to juggle though, but he was experienced, and this power interested him. Adam spoke, butting into the conversation, "A power linked between siblings? That is certainly a rare form of power - Even among those with inherent powers." He explained. Even before Adam became a teacher at the school, his power gave him an unmatched understanding of even the most complex powers. To him; it was like holding a simple pencil. "Usually, siblings get a different form of the same power, dividing the same power with variations among a group of people, but yours... Must be an exceeding rare case." Adam blatantly observed the twins. His vision gave him a bit of an insight into their power, so even if they use the most subtle use of a power; Adam would pick it up and decode it like it was nothing. Must observe.

Lieo wrote:
"Is it that obvious?" Damon mused, sitting on a bench smack dab in the arena lobby overlooking the display being set by the two teams. "I'm not much for sport, I come here mostly to overlook the progress of the students... but I guess you could say I find it a little fun to watch. Your son appears to be doing well. He's even giving Vespera a run for her money."

"Yes, Drake is a formidable opponent indeed." Adam says to Damon. He was watching the battle. Val and Abe are out of commission, and Drake is the last active member of the group. Drake used his usual tactic of disappearing in a cloud of plasma, and has started to launch out dragons. But that would only work for so long. Adam knew that Drake was straining himself, and with three opponents to fight; that would only get worse. Even the strongest of Meta-humans have a problem fighting against multiple opponents. "However, it appears that the fate of the battle is on him. He is firm in the belief that he can handle everyone - But this situation would overwhelm even me. I would really like to see if he can pull through to victory in these conditions."

Lieo wrote:
"Say, Adam... do you happen to have that new student's name by any chance?"

Adam certainly knew who the new student was. Abraham Gene. A student that sparred with Drake during the assessment periods (Adam reviewed the battle through the cameras). "Yes, he is one of my students in my class. Abraham Gene." Adam answers Damon's question

Jake Vin Valos.

Some of that hesitancy and fear melted away when Arianna didn't show any signs of being weirded out by him. In fact, she took it better than he expected. She was more sympathetic than he believed. Turns out that he was correct in his beliefs that she could help him. She started singing - Her voice had an effect that was far more promising than he once thought. Before she was singing, his mind was going yonkers, rearranging everything in the area around him - And he would have surely perceived it as real. He found himself doing nothing, but listening to Arianna's song (And breathing, can't forget to do that). A feeling of wonder and amazement filled Jake's spirits, like he did have hope that he wouldn't become a schizophrenic loon. Then the song was over - Jake's eyes (And mind) were clear, not a single trick of his mind in sight. "... Thank you for that." Was all he could say to Arianna. This moment gave him a different outlook on things, and he knew that he thought way better of Arianna now more than ever. She saved him from freaking out in the middle of no where. The less he thought about his lingering existential crisis, the better. Clear thoughts now. Just focus on what's real to him. Jaska. Gabe. Arianna. They're all what's real to him. "I... Don't even know what to say. You're..." He felt like he was going to shower her with praise, all because of his attraction to her, but couldn't help himself, "... More amazing than I thought."

At this point, Jake started walking forward, a cheerful, glad smile on his face. He wasn't trying to portray the image of being strong and confident - He was being the person he really was on the inside. Now he was ready to find the group and continue into the ruins - To fight whatever demon may lurk in the shadows of the ruins. The pair soon came in contact with the main group to the ruins - They were too held up in other things to notice them.

The cafe. That's a fine idea actually. Lily could use the time to get her head off of Amimoore and her powers - And maybe start talking about them, her room-mate and only real friend her. She came here to get away from tragedy and her past - Jesse and Merry were the two people that she knew would help her someday reach that goal. Even if it takes years; Lily dreamed of becoming the girl she used to be - Or as close as she can damn well get. "Alright, that's fine. You can always come to me, Merry." Lily says, hesitant. She grabbed her leather jacket and marched out the door at an accelerated pace. She was hoping to get out of here before anyone sees her with a boy and gets the wrong idea. She went at her own pace - But kept her eyes open for a certain headmaster's daughter. Lily had already explored the school, and thus, had a grasp on where what will be. It was a relatively short trip to the cafe, since the cafe was relatively close to the dorms. But; once the group got there; they were only met with a less-than-ideal sight. The cafe was surrounded by security guards - Questioning patrons about what they saw similar to police officers. One woman (Kate) was even being carted off to the Headmaster's office, escorted by a team of security guards. There was only one thing for Lily to bellow, upon seeing the ruined cafe:

"God dammit!"

Abraham Gene

This was a tactic that Abe had only done perhaps once or twice before. Once when he was testing his limits and to see what he was capable of, the second time to test it in action. The second time resulted in a borderline Pyrrhic victory where the transformation was only half successful. However, there was a bunch of different factors that set apart these two circumstances: for one, he was younger then. Not quite at the peak of his physical shape and lacked the proper stamina to be exerting the kind of energy required in the midst of a fast-paced fight or combat situation. In all honesty? Not that he would admit this to anyone, but he was really pressing his luck here and given the sounds from outside, things were heating up. He left Drake against Vespera and Vance, who, for all Abe knew, could be hassling the firefly down. If that were to be the case, he'd have to have a little talk with him after the fight. How dare he go hard on him, but easy on the girls! Hell, they were barely worthy of being called girls, they were freaks! And they were the enemy, that's the biggest kicker of all. The enemy.

Abe's metamorphosis was coming along smoothly, his body bulged and thickened and grew. The mass of the end product would no doubt be tantamount to that of the locomotive of a freight train! Perhaps even greater, it was hard to measure the kind of weight and impact this form would be able to provide. Even curled up as he was in a mock fetal position, his body was already encroaching upon the shell of the dome he was hidden within. His hands thickened and widened to a size comparable to a child, his feet were growing to the size of dining tables; even curled up as he was, he likely was already larger in size - or about as large - than the boulders that have been provided for his use... and look at what great use they were serving! Well, certainly nobody else would be able to tell until the transformation was complete. In the mean time, nobody on the outside should even know there was a transformation taking place! At least, not one of this caliber. For all anyone could have known, he was simply conserving his energy to outlast the other two combatants in the hailstorm.

Hopefully Drake was more suspicious of Abe than that. Surely Abe wouldn't want to miss out on some good old ass-kicking! But hey, as much as he loved fighting people and proving them wrong (usually through the means of shoving their nose into the dirt or breaking every bone in their face), he figured he might try a different tactic this time around. A one hit wonder, get the respect and fear of everyone in one move and there's no time being wasted by beating up every chuckle head to get to the top. Sure, it probably means the team won't get a lot of screen time, but it also meant that all it took was one fight to teach everybody they weren't be trifled with. They were the spirit and embodiment of every drop of blood shed on these grounds, and by God or devil, they'll teach maggots everywhere the meaning of reckoning.

Ah hell, it least it was a nice way to motivate himself. Though there was hardly a need for motivation when he could just feel sheer strength and power coursing through his body - air pressure? What air pressure? The strength of such broad shoulders would hardly notice the weight of the atmosphere and sky pressing down on him. Feel? He was made of 500% stone! But what he could perceive was the resistance of the stone dome that had sheltered him up to this point. But the growth continued, the pressure between him and the protective shell increasing.

...and then there was the resounding crack that pierced the air, a crack that stretched from the top of the dome that contained him and crawled down the sides, but had yet to reveal the contents within.

I'm ready.

Damon Viscous

Abraham then, huh? Damon watched closely the events of the battle that proceeded after Abraham's defensive play. Vance did a noble deed in saving his comrade from Valery's winter, but then he also had more than just himself to worry about. Vespera was being overwhelmed in the one-on-one fight, but on Abe's call, Drake also made a point in grabbing Vance's attention. In doing so, he made a big play against him as a massive, roaring funnel of fire took the form of a dragon and dove towards him. This had its pros and its cons of course, massive amounts of burst damage would surely overwhelm them enough until Abe was ready with whatever he had planned, but also tired him faster and left him susceptible to counter attacks. Constant harassment annoys, distracts, and bides time - it would also leave Drake with enough energy to cooperate with Abraham when he was ready. Unless his plan was to go all out and then take a breather as soon as it was his teammate's turn. Damon couldn't help but wonder what they were planning... or if they even had a plan at all!

"Your son should practice conservation," Damon added, "unless he's completely convinced he's able to pull off that kind of stunt and finish the fight for good. I'm not much one for fighting, myself, but a lesson like that is useful in more situations than just combat."

It was a little weird talking to Adam about his son like that, but given the teacher's disposition favoring academic integrity and efficiency, he assumed that the man would at least appreciate his constructive input. Damon did have practical, first-hand experience after all. He should probably also say something about this... Abraham kid.

"I don't think you were here for the beginning of the match. Valery might have frozen himself solid, but I don't think we should count the new student out just yet... he seems too..." - what was the proper term - "... obstinate to just give up like that."

Jesse Sutor

Of course, of all the possible outcomes, there had to be this cringe-worthy situation. What happened now? Uppity students? What was that on ground? Blood? Jesus Christ, couldn't they go anywhere in some low tension environment where they could help Lily relax? The lounge was one place, but it wasn't relaxing. There was always something going on. His own dorm he had his laptop and some of his own personal drinks (mostly mango tea, which he'd hardly be willing to give up), but that was also a place he wished no girl, friend or foe to enter. Personal space? Yes, of course, but it was more than just that. His room mate, Valery, he was a lady killer. He also might've had a couple of absurd little toys or trinkets laying about, memorabilia sitting on shelves. The dorm might be a more suitable place to hang out in the future once they stock the room with better appliances. A small elevated stoves, minimal pots and pans, and a mini-fridge for starters. Something told him that'd be a better place to be getting coffee in the future if this presentation is what was regular in the cafe.

There was a joke in there, but he wasn't touching that with a thirty-nine and a half foot pole.

But the first step was to get Lily to calm down again. "Okay, it's okay, alright?" Jesse said, trying his best to soothe her. "It'll be alright, we can just go somewhere else." Now he hadn't a clue where he could possibly bring her, she clearing didn't enjoy the training earlier today, so watching a bunch of bozos in the arena likely wouldn't satiate her either (even though watching morons punch each other was satisfying in many occasions). The only place he could bring her was...

...the dorm.

What did he have? Barely a thing. Fruity tea, Combos, a laptop, maybe a couple sketchbooks he would never touch because his mother thought he would have fun drawing in them, random trinkets, bouncy balls... well there was that chocolate he had. Two bars, ate one on the way here. Forgot about the other last night. Huh, well then. What else? Er... there might be crackers in-- no, nevermind. He ate those on the way here too. But there was Combos, a chocolate bar, and some tea at least. Who knows, maybe he forgot something else... aha! Like those sourdough pretzels! It's always nice to find, or remember, unexpected items you packed along. Now that he thought about it, Jesse also ate more junk food than he realized. Weeeelll, at least that was off set by cooking fresh food. He had to admit, he felt there was few good qualities to him, but he at least knew how to cook when he was hungry.

"Uh..." Jesse started, trying to build up the courage to make the offer.  "...Do y'all just want to sit around and watch Netflix and eat junk food then?"

Because honestly, looking at the scene of chaos that was layed out before him in the midst of the cafe, he had very little words left to say. Hopefully the sheer normality of a such a suggestion would be enticing enough. It's not like he was trying to lure her into his dorm or anything.

Merry had a grin on her face as she followed behind Lily. She was glad her roommate had invited her along with her and Jesse and not tell her to stay behind. Merry just really wanted some answers as to what was going on. Was Lily in trouble? Was she failing a class or had she been caught breaking a rule? Merry barely knew a thing about her roommate, and feared for her well being. Did she have any sort of support system outside of the school? Had Lily ever mentioned some sort of family or home? Merry allowed her grin to slip for a moment, casting a sideways glance at Jesse. Did he know anything about Lily? Or was she just a mysterious girl? Merry returned her grin to her face, there was no way in hell she was going to let her curiosity get the best of her. She was going to respect Lilys metaphorical boundaries. But she still wanted to know what was going on between her and Animoore. Hopefully nothing too serious.

Maybe some hot drinks and a long conservation would solve Merry's problems. However that now seemed unlikely. Her thoughts were interrupted by Lily and Jesse suddenly stopping their walk forward, Merry walked forward for a few more steps, before realizing what was in front of her. She felt her breath catch in her throat as her eyes frantically scanned the area. Blood? Was that real blood or some sort of joke? Merry had never seen so much blood before. She lived a very sheltered life, not even liking gory movies or video games. Merry felt rather sick, forcing herself to look away, turning back towards Jesse and Lily. Her grin replaced with a rather somber look. What had gone on here? Were people hurt, killed even? Merry nodded quickly to Jesse, now determined not to be left behind. "My mother sent me back from my visit home with some cookies." She rattled her backpack again, this was the little surprise for Lily and her to share. "I'd love to share them."

Vespera, Cassandra, and Vance

When the last of the electricity left her body, Vespera readied herself to attack Drake. It hadn't escaped her notice that his allies were out of the picture for the moment, which made this the perfect time to strike. A bright pillar of plasma made her shield her eyes briefly, during which her target flew up towards the ceiling. She wasn't about to let him escape that easily. A strands of shadow web formed from above, and she quickly reeled herself up with them. Her advance was clear while Drake was occupied with the Vance Cassandra hybrid, and the fact he was using an unnecessarily complex attack. The extra time put into making and controlling the dragons allowed her to get within range. Vespera opened up her poison glands, then spat half a cup of the deadly mixture in his direction.

Vance took off towards Drake under his own initiative until Cassandra became alert. In this metal form they were grounded, so he hoped to reach him in time before he could take advantage of that. Sure enough created a column of plasma to cover his ascent. Now he had some considerations to make. He could stick put, go back to Abe, or merge with the air and pursue him. Make a decision already, super heated gas is on it's way. Cassandra had woken up, and she was right. Two extremely bright Chinese dragons with open maws ready to swallow the two of them. Their metal form was too slow to dodge, and switching to air form would only get them burnt up. The best choice was to simply take it. Blast proof metal or not, the heat plasma was going to be higher than their melting point. When the display was over the surface was molten and dripping. Now Vance merged with the air to prevent further mass loss. Another benefit was they'd be near impossible to detect. Then they silently and invisibly ascended after Vespera.

(Not particularly proud of this post, but it'll do. This fight is starting to wear thin.)

Drake Deltori Blackmore.

"Oh f*ck!" Drake shouted, "I killed them!" The plasma dragons faded away moments after they've made contact with the metallic Cassandra/Vance. They were gone. Poof. Drake thought he had killed them, with a flashy and complex attack like that. But he quickly came to his senses because while he didn't have a perfect grasp of science, he knew that metal would melt or burn. It would leave something behind. But this, there's nothing left. That means that they must have pulled a trick of some sort to dodge the attack. The only thing was that they didn't reappear, they were still gone - That or he couldn't see them. That means they're up to something, just that he didn't know what. Either way, Drake has really been giving Vespera and her crew a handful. Unless they had something a bit more drastic - "... Ah! F*ck!" He screamed. The acidic attack that was launched by Vespera hit Drake grazing his shoulder, burning through his suit. The acid burned his skin, even though he was made out of plasma. His pain receptors were going into overload as the acid burned into him. He had lost a bit of focus, and was descending from the air. He tried to wipe some of it off - Only to get a bit of that on his hand and burn him further.

Once it was over, that cheeky grin was wiped from his face. That overconfident, arrogant, aura had completely evaporated. It changed to a more tempered, serious, deposition. One clear was clear: Drake was pissed. This was the point where he started taking the fight serious. The plasma around him brightened, as he ascended through the air. "Now... Now you've just done it!" He quickly dove straight at Vespera. Leaving behind a bright and beautiful plasma. He created a direct flow of plasma from his hands, which looked very similar to a plasma torch, that took the shape of two long, double-edged swords. Halfway there; he preformed a glorious flip in the air, sending a massive wave of plasma at Vespera. Creating another beautiful crescent moon attack. However, this attack was heavily telegraphed, and he had planned for Vespera to dodge it (It works if she doesn't!).

He appeared through the plasma wave, blades of plasma ready to slice through any barriers of shadows that Vespera would create.

"... That is one of his greatest weaknesses in my opinion," Adam says to Damon, answering him on practicing conservation. While the attack was indeed powerful, it wasn't no more practical than his regular plasma attacks. Of course, unlike the rest of his siblings; Drake was always the one to show off and go for big flashy attacks - Which had lead to more defeats and humiliations. "More flash than practically. I will... Make him address that next time he trains under my wing..." However, at this point, Vespera had nailed Drake with some acid on the shoulder, and he changed visibly. Adam knew that when Drake drops that cockiness, he trades it for a much more serious and focused attitude during a fight. Drake had made some blades of plasma, and rushed Vespera.

"Jesse... Merry... You know..." Lily says, turning back to her only two real friends. She didn't need a cafe of the sorts, nor a place to relax. She just needed these two. The only two friends that she had in this entire academy of super-powered sociopaths. She nodded her head, "Let's do that. Just head back to my dorms, and let's just hang. Play games or something. And let the good times roll." She shrugged. There was nothing left to even do, really. She didn't want to spend the rest of the day here mulling about what to do, and she was fine with just staying in her room the rest of the day - Even if she'd be alone. Especially since this school is turning out to be way worse than she thought it'd be.

And she got the feeling like things were going to get a lot worse...

Abraham Gene

The cracks that preceded the following events were, by all means, a perfect opportunity for warning. However the actions and conflict raging outside had appeared to keep the fighters busy and too focused to pay heed to details such as cracks over the dome. So it would seem that Drake had more than fulfilled his duty as distraction, especially seeing how he had gone the extra mile to whittle them down to something none more threatening than that of a bug! It was the perfect opportunity, and Abraham had seized it to catch their enemies off guard.

The cracked dome rumbled and shook, its vibrations transferring even to the ice and metal around and below him (respectively!). Plates and chunks of rock on top of the dome had fell apart and collapsed upon itself just before the entire top of the dome erupted as Abraham emerged in his new rocky form, letting rip a savage roar that shook the very air itself for good measure. His sheer size easily dwarfed all those in the school and weighed greater than any of the boulders around him. This had been his first successful transformation being practically applied to a real world situation, so he took a moment to adjust himself in this new body. He also took in the stone that made up the remnants of the dome into his own body and add to his mass.

He took his first step, his feet alone larger than that of even Drake and Valery, and his sheer weight crushing the ice beneath his feet which, a feat that would otherwise be impossible in his usual human sized form. Now? He was a titan! The Golem! His very voice boomed with power, with vigor! The hailstones that pelted the arena hadn't bothered him, his solid form was impenetrable! "I... am... the Golem!" Abraham roared, looking down at Vespera. She had appeared already worn by Drake's attacks, but Abe had already come to far in his transformation to do nothing more than simply intimidate them. His size kept him from moving too quickly, and although ice covered the arena, he still had the capability of altering the environment.

Roaring, the Abe took two, mighty, god sized fists above his head and slammed them against the arena ground with all his strength. The ice beneath the impact had utterly shattered, surely, and the energy transferred through the ice caused cracking and breakage across the field, creating pot holes and snags and created small chunks of uprooted ice, shaking the field as if a high-powered earthquake had stricken. The slipperiness of the field was hazardous to be sure, but the now ragged, craggy terrain had only added to the treacherous terrain.

Let them fight back! Their fight is hopeless now!

Damon Viscous

This was good to hear. Damon didn't particularly have any major investments in any of the students, that wasn't his area. But it was good to hear that the more rowdier students will be trained and learn how to conserve their powers for the sake of better, greater, and more efficient use - and hopefully for better reasons, too. Drake was a raging fire, which was conveniently a pun given the current circumstance, but it was also a metaphorical comparison. As far he could discern, his powers had little focus and simply obliterated all in its path given the proper whim. Of course, that isn't to say that Damon was exempt from this when he was when he was younger, he knew that. By God, did he know that.

A few more moments into the fight, Drake did finally get what was coming to him what with that cocky attitude, though he did sympathize with getting struck by acid. That couldn't have been any fun. What he didn't expect though was a readjustment of his attitude; perhaps that acid put him in the right of mind and reminded him that is wasn't just a game. At least, not to Vespera. Damon figured he'd soon be sure that Drake too would come to that mindset. But in the world of the unexpected, everything was volatile and suspect to change. This, the fight and with all meta-humans, they are just as much a suspect to the world of change. That was the only guaranteed thing about meta-humans. When Abraham Gene emerged from the protection of the dome in his new form, it was made clear that this still holds true. Between the new student's aggressiveness, fighting, his power and its variations and capabilities... Damon found him to be especially volatile. Nearly half as much as himself.

"On top of your son... we should probably keep an eye on this new student." Damon intrigued, "Abraham... Gene, you said?"

Jesse Sutor

Jesse smiled. Alright, so they had a plan! Meeting in her dorm, is that right? No problemo, maybe they could also go over the things he discovered about his power during that time. Share it with Merry as well, surely she'd be interested. But first, he should head to his dorm and get the stuff he was thinking of sharing. Did the two of them like tea? Well, it was worth a shot bringing it anyway even if it turned out to be for his own benefit. Excitement welled up in his chest, his hands twitching and rubbing together anxiously.

"Sure thing!" Jesse chimed with goofy smile. "I'll get back to my room real quick and grab some of my stuff. Also, I've learned a couple of things about those... 'ghosts' that I think you're find really neat! We can go over it when I get there."

He was right about to leave until he remembered another problem. Amimoore. Well right now their concern is helping Lily relax and cool the freakout. But in the event that they ran into her when they were trekking the halls? Eh... it likely wouldn't happen. He probably should have to worry about that, but...

Jesse started talking before he convince himself out of saying anything,"And look - if you come across puta," (a new nickname for Amimoore he'd think he'd share with Lily, one he didn't quite understand but figured was derogatory regardless) "just don't let her push you around, okay? Tell her... I don't know, that I'm protecting you or something."

Protecting her? Huh, well that was something new. He never really had to protect anybody before. Then he looked at Merry. Oh shucks, all of this was probably going over her head. They should tell her, especially if it's right in front of her.

"And, uh... you should probably fill Merry in while you're heading back. I'll meet you two there."

Arianna Madrigal

Somehow, the genuine praise and legitimate thanks coming from Jake's voice made his thanks seem more worthwhile than nearly any compliment she'd ever received-and every time Arianna picked up an instrument or sang even a simple tune, she was either showered with praise or faced with the grudging silence of jealousy. She was grateful for the biting wind making her face red, but it blushed a little deeper. "Oh, you're welcome. It's really nothing. I'm glad I could help." Arianna said it was really nothing, but her body begged to differ. She felt a bit of a strain, both on her mind-as if it were harder to focus on the little details, and something was keeping her plenty distracted already-and on her body. She felt as if she had just finished running a couple laps around a track field, her heart hammering and her breaths coming heavier and faster.

The next compliment, however, pulled the proverbial rug out from under her feet. "Oh...I...um....that's...uh..." Arianna, who normally spoke with the kind of cadence that made you think she practiced exactly what she was going to say, struggled to stammer out a complete word. "I...uh...glad I could help." she was both entirely aware of their hands still being together and not at all bothered by it. More amazing than he thought. Eek!

The ruins, suddenly, did not seem very scare at all-even if the observant, coldly logical part of her wanted to say that entering them a little winded and emotionally rattled was probably not the best idea, that every horror movie survivor ever was screaming at her the folly of this plan, but as history has taught us many times over, logic does not count for sh*t against a whirlwind of unbalanced hormones and peer pressure. She squeezed his hand a little tighter and said, "If you get upset again let me know, okay? I can sing anytime you want me to." Singing was one of the few things that felt really right to Arianna, and it took something catastrophic indeed to rattle her enough to keep her from being able to sing well. It was the talent she could always fall back on for the talent show or the artistic expression for the worst of days.

But this wasn't the worst of days, was it? Arianna walked with Jake towards the ruins, vaguely wondering if their knight-in-shining-armor metaphor made this the castle of the dragon. Well, it certainly lived up to the hype-a bit of Arianna's giddiness melted away as she quickly picked up on, distracted as she was, the ominous tune of the Symphony here, something out of the The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly and the eerie calm before a storm and the stillness of a snake before it strikes. Gabe stood, half-cocked; Jaska curled like a beast ready to pounce; Sage a....she didn't know but it was kind of intimidating. What was out there? Arianna sidled a little closer to Jake, the idea of a fight with something terrifying her. What was she supposed to do, aside from run? And what could Jake do? He'd just dealt with an existential crisis, surely fighting wasn't an option at this point. "What's happening?" she asked softly, not wanting to be "that girl" that spoke really loud and gave their position away or something. "Is there...something...?" Arianna scanned the woods around them, the ruins (suddenly much creepier) and didn't even consider the fact that if Jaska's senses couldn't pick it up, hers sure as hell wouldn't be able to. Arianna tried desperately to listen to the Symphony, but much as listening to a song is hard with several others playing at once, she couldn't get herself to focus enough. Not enough to hone in on a specific swathe of the orchestra, the part that was making things feel so...standoffish.

Valery Arsov

This is worse than the time I slept in the walk-in freezer overnight for twenty bucks. I was living off ice cream for a week. Actually, a lot of things were worse than that, that was pretty good.

Val, frozen solid, frozen down to the core, watched the fight rage on from his quasi-hibernation. Val was still very much conscious, albeit the sludge-like consistency of his blood, constricted nature of his veins and denatured nature of his chemical pathways made his reactions a bit sluggish. He was watching the fight a second or two behind, his thoughts taking a little while to piece together. Still, Val's mind was working just fine, albeit the vessel it was in charge of was failing.

No, not failing. Val would thaw out, in time, but for now? He was a sitting duck. But even sitting ducks can...quack...or something. The icestorm around Valery, which was on par with Antarctic icefields or the most hellish Siberian tundra, began inching out. It would take a considerable amount of time for that kind of intensity to fill up the entire Arena-far longer than the fight would last. But it was dragging the temperature of the entire Arena down, and nowhere inside the fighting ring was above forty degrees at this point. Val's hail, while not strong enough to bring down an enemy on its own, was certainly a nuisance, and combined with the gusts of wind, tearing through what protection from the heat cloth and skin offered, thick snow and ice across the ground, and the attacks from Drake and Abe, Val had successfully made the Arena's terrain very unfriendly. Moving across it quickly was a nightmare, and Val took a moment to ponder what he could do on a far grander scale. If he entombed himself in ice like this, put his bodily processes in stasis, and set to work driving out winter. In a conducive environment-well, much like the Academy, Val felt he could be a formidable obstacle even to an army. Sure, he would get tired and need to rest, but even the ice in the Arena would have staying power for several hours. More than enough for a long nap to regain his strength and get back to work...Perhaps if ice sculptor job falls through, I can go work for army somewhere. Hey, I wonder how we're doing in Sochi. Hey, how come I'm not ice skating? It's kind of gay but I would win like every gold medal they had. Ah, Abe seemed to have buried himself under a giant rock. Given how slow I am, I suppose that makes me Gary. But this motherf*cker just put himself under a rock, so he is Patrick. And Drake is yellow right now, so he is Spongebob. I might as well go ice skate. We are gay enough already.

The wind began to pick up, and while the intense "core" of the winter storm was perhaps only within ten or fifteen feet of Valery, there was a second "sphere" that stretched out forty or fifty feet where there was a noticeable step down in temperature, thicker ice and snow, etc. Val worked on pushing that second edge out, knowing that trying to bring the entire Arena, large and air-conditioned as it was (but Val had a feeling the ventilation shafts were frozen solid by now, blocked by snow and iced over thick), was far too much energy. It would end the fight in a hurry, but it would probably leave Val bedridden for a month. Grateful that his sleeping nerve endings would put off the soreness and strain for a while longer, Val worked his power a little more, wanting to help Drake as much as possible while Abe did whatever it was he was doing. I am already sitting out on the fight, Abe, do not copy my thing. It is my thing. Not your thing.

Val watched Vespera and Vance continue to wear down Drake, feeling some pride at how Cassandra had been reduced to her hands and knees after trying to get in close and give him the old biochemical one-two. Cass I am Russian. If there is one thing your Hollywood movies should have taught you, it is that we are immune to chemistry. My blood alcohol is like 4.3 right now. But then she seemed to have dissipated into thin air-oh, no, she was probably merged with Vance. Ugh. That was just weird to think about. Sharing bodies with someone. Not that Val was opposed to sharing bodies with anybody. It is a pity cold showers do not work on me.

Eventually, Val's finer control over the snow and ice around him slipped, and the foot or so wide hole he'd been surveying the fight from was full of precipitation. This wasn't so bad. The thicker the snow got, the harder it would be for them to find him quickly-particularly without fire or psychic powers of some sort. Val was reduced to what he could feel, his sense of touch pervading somewhat through the snow and ice around him, and what he could hear through the most kick-ass snow fort of all time. Sounded like earthquake. Oh, maybe that's what Abe was doing. You are not copying my thing, Abe. You are doing your own thing, that's okay.

At this time, a thought that chilled him, moreso than the mildly cool avalanche-waiting-to-happen around him did. I really have to piss right now, but I do not see that ending well. Drake, let's wrap this up please.

"Heh, don't mention it." Jake picked up on Arianna's lack of words. He did guess that he took her breath away - But that was just downright arrogant of him to even think. He ran his hand through his hair and gave Arianna a joyful look. He was glad to have met such a girl like Arianna. His attraction to her had just grown. Love? Too early to say that. He certainly did have a crush on her. Just that he wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual - However, Jake was sure that over time, she would return the feeling. "Let's just find the others. The fun's just started."

Shade wrote:

Seemingly, Jake was in the same situation as Arianna. The situation looked tense as hell, like a fight's about to break out. The scene looked quite stressful. The disadvantage of staying behind. "Your guess is as good as mine." He whispered back. From the looks of things, Jaska (Or someone else) must have detected someone around here. Which indeed gave Jake the creeps, since it could really be a ghost they're sensing. It'd be nice if Whatever came out now, while they're in the open - Instead of the tight spaces of the ruins. So this little expedition group can choose whether or not they should leg it, or if it's all good.

It was a relatively short time since Gabe had yelled out for them. She did yell pretty loud, unless she was dealing with deaf people they should have heard it and realized that the scam was up. This brought laughter to Gabe that she tried to hide much as possible. "Heh... Cowards." She laughingly muttered in between laughter. Gabe was arrogant, headstrong, girl. She didn't let people think that they would stop her from getting what she wanted - Which in this case was exploring the ruins. Even if this new party was hostile; she knew that she could take them. To say the least, she didn't consider the risk that this could be dangerous - Merely because she thinks that she's more dangerous than what most people can handle, and it is true in some way. "Looks like someone got cold feet-" No pun intended "- Let's ignore dem' and get a move on. I want to have some fun in here."

Still hesitant and unsure, Jake asks "You sure...?"

"Yes, I'm sure." Only to get a quick retort back.

"Do not worry," Sage butts in, "They will not harm us. I'm certain." Sage still detected two good presences, so there wasn't any worries in them. In fact, they were more concerned as to why they haven't revealed themselves let. Eli should be able to sense me. We are quite alike. Eli and Areiella must have been hesitant because of the company that Sage had.

Gabe had turned her attention to the entrance to the ruins. It's dark. She narrowed her eye. The entrance of the ruins was completely pitch black beyond the light shined down from the sky. A simple enough problem, as Gabe, Sage, or Jake could easily illuminate an entire building by themselves. Gabe pointed a finger at the entry-way, and a bright, intangible laser, that was effectively light, came out of her finger. The laser acted as a bright flash-light, filling the hallway with a blood-red light. Only for Gabe to get upstaged by Sage.

Sage had walked forward, head face downwards, and put both hands together like they were praying. A bright white light came out from in between their hands. It shined brighter and brighter until Sage opened their hands, and a orb out light gracefully floated into the air from in between their palms. "It'd rather that you save your strength. I can do this much longer." Sage says to Gabe. They would prefer doing this themself, since their power is mastery over all light, and creating a light like this would be easy. The orb of light slowly drifted into the hallway, absolutely illuminating it. Just like the place had actual power.

Meanwhile, on Jaska's end, he had stopped paying attention to what was going on by the ruins and wandered off for a little bit - Something else, that was more pressing, had caught his attention. There was a cotton-tail rabbit just wandering through the snow, foraging for food. Jaska had smelled it, and immediately turned his attention off the two newcomers and on to the furry friend. Jaska would have eaten it, but he wasn't hungry, but there was an urge pulling him towards it. Jaska quietly walked off to it, unnoticed by his siblings and friends. He got closer and closer, and knelt down, keeping his bestial gaze on it. Strangely enough... The rabbit didn't flee, or get startled. "Huh?" While Jaska wasn't the brightest kid, or that knowledgeable of animals, he did have a fair grasp on patterns. Jaska gets close, rabbit runs, Jaska chases it. This was different. "Hi." He says to the rabbit - Even though he's aware that animals don't speak English. Oddly enough, again, the rabbit turned to him, and looked at him like he understood Jaska. This really piqued his interest, as a smile crept up on his face. He started petting the rabbit, being ever so careful to make sure that he doesn't cut the rabbit with his claws (A drawback to having such large claws). Seeing that the rabbit wasn't alarmed in the slightest, "Come here..." Jaska grabbed the rabbit, even more carefully than before - As he grabbed it, he stood straight up. He had the rabbit held with his arm.

"Jask! C'mon!" Gabe shouts to Jaska trying to get him to move along.

Nodding his head, Jaska walked with the rest of the group, his new furry friend in hand. He realized that the rabbit didn't even have a name. "I'll call you Mr. Bubbles." He whispered, rubbing the rabbit's head gently with his palm.

The group walked into the first room of the ruins. A large, lobby-type room. Sage's orb of light had floated to the very top of the room, and provided the room with a better light than any light-bulb could supply. The room, like the rest of the ruins, was barely finished construction, and in a wreck because of the lack of maintenance. The room was made out of a long degraded wood, it was rotted and broken, it cracked and crunched underneath the group's feet. There were four hallways, that lead to separate parts of the ruins. There were seemingly doors to be placed in the hallways, but construction never got that far. On the other. It was obvious that, despite being barred from students, people came through the ruins before. The signs were all around the first room that they entered. There were chairs, mattresses, and blankets/sheets on the floor - Along with trash (Beer bottles, and other suspicious ). The walls were littered with graffiti and other marks that could only be produced by powers.

This wasn't the kind of place that Gabe expected it to be. She expected it to be a moody, creepy, building, with zero signs of life other than the rats. It just looks like a place where teenagers group up and f*ck. Even if sexual activity is forbidden on campus; Gabe wouldn't be caught dead f*cking in here. She shrugged and took a step to the side, next to the door-frame. She leaned up against it, and crossed her arms. She was going to be the guard, just to make sure that nobody creeps up on them. Since from this spot; she can fry anyone with a laser before they even know it. "Smell anyone, Jask?" Gabe asks Jaska, looking up to him.

This place was hellish on Jaska's enhanced senses, there was the strong odor of many sources bombarding him at once. It was highly-irritating, but he could hopefully manage. The moment that they entered, Jaska decided to get a better view of the place. He walked to the nearest available vertical surface and looked up at it. He shifted his weight downwards a little bit, then sprung up at the wall in a high jump. He dug the dense claws on his hand and feet into the wall to stay attached. He still managed to keep the rabbit perfectly still. When Jaska was asked a question; he turned his entire body towards Gabe and looked at her. He responded with, "Only trash..."

Jake took a few steps into the ruins. Hands in his pocket, a curious, blank look on his face. Ever so careful not to step on something he'd regret later - As the last thing he wanted to do was get his suit dirty. "You know, Ari, I'm more afraid of catching a disease here than any scary monster." Jake spoke to Arianna, trying to keep their bravado going. "I don't think you'd be able to sing at germs. Heh." He started chuckling a bit.

"Wuss." Gabe says to Jake, teasing him. "I'd rather fight a monsta'. It's easier, quicka', and straight forward... My style."

The unnatural presence that Sage was feeling grew stronger than ever before, now that they're in the midst of it. It felt like every inch of this building was alight with a presence that only Sage even knows of. So Sage stood awkwardly in the middle of the room, looking around, and just focusing on keeping the light going. They were on-edge, looking for any phantasms to bathe in their light. However, they got the feeling that everyone was going to ask, and right now, Sage didn't want anyone pressing on about it. They asked "Everyone... What do you think that this place is - Before, you know, they stopped?" Sage started nervously stroking their hair with both hands, which had started to flash a white light, indicating Sage's unease.

Jake, Gabe, and Jaska answered Sage's question with their own answer, in order:

"Mental institution."

"Strip club."

"Club-house... where everyone can have fun and play...?"

When first alerted of strangers up ahead, Bre's and Len's reactions matched their personalities, almost. Bre, being worried given the circumstances- a eerie building mixed with the fact that there were no adults around, with two unknown strangers thrown into the mix? That is just the perfect setting for a murder mystery book, or maybe some suspenseful, super natural story. Bre usually insists that such a situation doesn't scare her, but she wasn't so stupid that she wouldn't be nervous of strangers in such a situation. So Bre was reaching up for her sunglasses, her hand frozen at the rim of them.

Len kept that bored expression of his on his face as he glanced at Bre, then up ahead in the direction of the two strangers. He did nothing in reaction- just stood there, waiting for everything to work itself out. He remained with the expression after Sage spoke up.

Then Sage announced that they were okay. Bre smiled in response, taking her hand down from her sunglasses. For a split second, they slid down to the bridge of her nose, but Bre pushed her sunglasses back up before her eyes could be seen. She wasn't the biggest fan of the requirement forbsunglasses in public- everything seemed so much darker and seeme to be lacking in something.

As they walked into te building, Bre looked around with an expression of excitement, her cautious attitude now gone. Sage's display of power made things even more exciting- creating a sphere of light- the guy... Girl... Person was basiclaly a walking lightbulb! Then, Bre examined the room... It wasn't as awesome as Bre expected it to be- maybe less graffiti and beer and more... Ghosts, creeping sounds, and cobwebs. Instead it looked like some average building that had even left to the teens. Her excited expression turned to one of disappointment a she kicked a beer bottle out of the way, the glass clanking against the ground. She looked at Sage, a small smile on her face from hearing the Valos siblings' intakes on the building. Gabe's she found pretty amusing, probably because it seemed almost probable. There were mattresses and beer bottles everywhere, in a place the faculty never go to that teenagers hang out at. "it's a hangout for kids that are too immature to control their sexual urges- not a spooky place like I hoped."

Len remained silent as he nodded in agreement with Bre- he wasn't expecting anything big, actually, but it was a bit disappointing.

A small chuckle came from Gabe. She turned her attention to the girl. Bre was quite neutral to Gabe - Their meeting when she butted into her conversation, she did earn herself a bit of irritation from Gabe. Len was just the utter embodiment of meh - Since he was so quiet and boring, that Gabe didn't want to even associate herself with him any further. For all she cared, Len could trip and break his neck and it wouldn't provoke any reaction from her. "Well, let me tell ya' something..." F*ck, I forgot her name. Act natural. Gabe says, as she got up from off the wall, and walked towards Bre, her hips wiggled as she walked. "... Only a desperate fool would f*ck in here. Because ya' see that?" She then pointed at a rat that she saw creeping outside her gaze. "Dat thing right there would crawl up and chew your junk, while you're doing it." Gabe spoke just like this was something that'd fit in normal, civil, polite, conversation. She was crude, rude, and brazen. Nothing was really a "vulgar" topic to Gabe.

".... Because it happened to her before. True story." Jake sarcastically quips. He smiled and crossed his arms. Expecting a response from Gabe.

Normally, if Jake was anyone was else, she would be fuming with rage right now - But this was the usual banter between herself and Jake. "Well, I def' wouldn't recommend that you do it in the snow, either. Like..." She faded off intentionally, grinning deviously. Leaving the implication obvious to who she was referring to. You two were gone for a lil' bit, Jake. Whatcha' doin'?

"Enough." Jake figured it out quite fast, and wasn't amused.

The dialogue was making things even more awkward for Sage. Feeling like a phantom is going to attack at any moment, with an obscene topic of conversation. Their hair was still flickering like a dying light bulb - As the same time it shined like a glorious sun. Sage decided to divert the conversation to something more sensible, "Um... I think if we look around, we'll find the... 'spooky place'." Sage spoke the entire sentence uncomfortably, but said 'spooky place' the most awkwardly.

Most interesting. So Abe had an alternate form, much like Drake did. A Golem, as he appeared. Adam watched the transformation, and learned a lot more information about his power than most would by watching - They just don't know it. Adam watched as Abe threw a rock - Which was the least impressive use of his power, thus far. It appeared that he was all strength and flash, and no strategy (Which is the real trait that Adam likes in students, not strength). "Interesting technique, I will give you that. However, you seem more than capable of moving normal rocks in your... 'default' form."

Lieo wrote:
"On top of your son... we should probably keep an eye on this new student." Damon intrigued, "Abraham... Gene, you said?"

"Yes, he is Mr. Gene." Adam immediately answers Damon. Turning his head to look at Damon. He then centered his gaze back onto the arena fight. "And I am already ahead of you. There are already a few students under my eye...." He then let out a sigh, before continuing, "But I'll tell you something; it's getting taxing keeping up with so many students, especially with the 'high-risk' students taking priority. We had two more in my class."

Carmen 'Lily' Santo.

Lieo wrote:
"Sure thing!" Jesse chimed with goofy smile. "I'll get back to my room real quick and grab some of my stuff. Also, I've learned a couple of things about those... 'ghosts' that I think you're find really neat! We can go over it when I get there."

"And look - if you come across puta," (a new nickname for Amimoore he'd think he'd share with Lily, one he didn't quite understand but figured was derogatory regardless) "just don't let her push you around, okay? Tell her... I don't know, that I'm protecting you or something."

"And, uh... you should probably fill Merry in while you're heading back. I'll meet you two there."

Quietly, Lily listened to every word that Jesse said - With her mood being more and more uplifted with every word that was said by Jesse. They must have a lot to talk about, to get her mind off Amimoore and the stresses of a private school for super-humans. That's when Jesse said he was going to leave - That uplifting aura seemingly evaporated, leaving with Jesse. For a moment, Lily was without words, scrambling to put something together as Jesse left. "Thank you, Jesse. I will meet you there" Was all she could say as Jesse left.

They better get back to their room before things get too cold out here. Lily started walking, motioning for Merry to follow her. "So, I should get you briefed... So I was just coolin' outside the library when Amimoore popped up and started being a creep... I tried to leave, but then she found out about my power then..." It was hard telling Merry about it without getting worked up about it again, but Lily was tough. Tougher than anyone here. It'd take a lot to get her to crack.

Arianna Madrigal

Arianna privately wondered if Gabe was referring to her by the cowards remark-because, hey, some people just aren't cut out for fighting, and Arianna was one of them. She was no fighter, she wasn't cold enough, but she also probably wasn't going to need therapy twenty or thirty years down the line. Assuming she did live that long.

She tried more intensely to listen to the Symphony, to gain some sense of what was going on, but even with Gabe's brutish confidence (I'd like a little more to go off of, that there's nobody here in the creepy abandoned ruins to kill us, than just your word) or Sage's equally unnerving faith (I mean, I'm religious and all, but I think he...she...shem...they...they actually think...they're....an angel or something) that they were safe. Still, if those two were around, they at least seemed like they could handle themselves. And if Jake could cloak himself, he could veil Arianna just as well. So that was good. If she stayed nice and still, he could keep her hidden while Gabe and Sage put on a deadly little light show and roasted the bad guys. Yeah, that's totally what would happen.

It sounded cliche to say Arianna felt like she was being watched, and that's because it was cliche. For someone who'd only seen a handful of horror movies and fed off whispers of urban legends, schoolyard myths-never actually set foot in some derelict building herself, Arianna was going purely off cliches. The carefree energy of the snowfield race had evaporated, leaving only the tension, the kind where you just want the monster/serial killer/demon to jump out already to at least give you something to focus all your fear on.

Jake's fingers, shall we say, were probably going to be in danger of losing circulation.

Sage illuminated the entire room, and Arianna cat-called, genuinely impressed. The noise echoed sweetly down the halls, making the building seem a little less scary for a moment. Although, with the light, it looked less like a murder/rape dungeon and more like a...well, a total hole in the wall. Her fear subsided just a bit, but the tension Gabe, Sage, and Jaska had been emanating had rattled her. "Wow. That's really cool, Sage. Do-awwww!" Arianna squeaked, seeing Jaska pick up a bunny rabbit. Not wanting to let go of Jake (because, uh, what if those bad guys from earlier did show up, you know, it was probably good to keep holding his hand anyways), she dragged him over to Jaska and petted the bunny, no thought at all given to fleas or ringworms or any other number of nasty things a wild animal could be having. "Jaska! He's so cute! You have to keep him!" Jaska scrambled up a wall and Arianna returned her focus to Jake, the fuzzy animal having left the vicinity. Arianna had a bunny for a little while, when she was younger. He'd gone off to live at the farm, wherever that was.

"Afraid of catching a disease?" Don't worry, I'm clean. No, wait, that would probably be like weird or awkward or something to say. "I already got Titus-cooties on my hand, I think you can manage whatever comes your way. And Bre, you say that like it's such a bad thing. If Jaska keeps that chick magnet bunny around with him, he'll be agreeing with me before too long. This place...this place looks like a haunt." Arianna cringed. "Poor choice of words. Isn't that what they call the gang hideouts, though? Just looks like a bunch of teenagers came and....hung out here." Arianna wasn't exactly going to be adding in additions to the Kama Sutra anytime soon, but the ruins screamed "COME HERE TO HAVE ILLEGAL ACADEMY SEX". Well, at least they were doing it off campus, away from people. It'd be icky like, going into your room and seeing your roommate doing it or something. Bleeehhh.

Bleehhhhhhhhh even more at the description of a rat crawling up and...bleh. Arianna instinctively glanced down at her feet, expecting to see a huge rat nibbling on her snow-covered boots. Hopefully Sage's light would keep them away, right? Rats hated light, didn't they? Arianna had no idea-she'd never even seen a rat before. "Oh, Gabe," Arianna said, trying to be lighthearted (she was blushing slightly at Gabe's comment, and wondered vaguely if she should let go of Jake's hand-but something told her not to, the same something that was making her whole body feel warm and fuzzy and her heart bounce up against her ribcage), "I'm a classy lady. We cleared the snow out of the way first. But yeah, onto the really spooky place...unless you guys are scared." That one kid who was staying quiet this whole time was a little spooky-people who never spoke at all kinda weirded out Arianna. There was so much you could talk about-why wouldn't you? Maybe he was having an off day or something.
