Abraham Gene
Abraham's glare chased Neal down as he walked away and he shrugged Val's hand off his shoulder. He didn't have anything to say to Val concerning it, but he didn't argue with him either. But he had a bit of kindle to light his fire now, that was good. Let the engine focus its energy on his enemies, show them that their team wasn't to be taken lightly as shown by Vespera's tone of voice. When it was time to suit up, he didn't hesitate. His typical confident, cocky, and relaxed disposition was entirely replaced by a colder man and was unfazed by Drake's reference to him and Val being simply accessories.
Once suited up, both teams found themselves in the arena. Metal. That was fine. He took the minute that was given to them to prepare himself, every visible inch of his body morphing and solidifying into stone. He pressed his knuckles together, stretched his back, neck, whatever to prepare himself. He looked beside him where Valery stood with Drake on his other side showing off with a column of plasma. Intimidating the enemy or simply getting himself pumped? No matter. He looked ahead when the clock clicked at thirty seconds. Thirty seconds left - remember what to fight for. Sam. Fight for Sammy. His pupils dilated and his muscles tensed. Twenty seconds. Sammy was killed. Anger. I am angry. Ten seconds was left. Slowly, his hands had molded themselves into brutal looking bladed spikes, replacing the stone limbs that had preceded them. His mind flooded with half-second flash backs of his little brother. No mercy. Rip them apart. His gaze locked on Vance and the bell finally rung.
Valery had backed up flipped up his eye patch, sharing information as he saw it. Abe hearing but not quite listening to what he was saying, darted forward and sprinted across the oval battlefield at an alarming rate despite his current form. His feet smashed against the metal ground making a ruckus as he approached the enemy team. Vance. Single out Vance. Take them out quickly one at a time. No holding back. Abe had already crossed the border that separated the two team's sides and the cold that Valery was dishing out did nothing to hinder his advancement. He did though anticipate some form of retaliation, so he made a mighty leap into the air to avoid whatever may have been coming at him, heaving all of his weight with him. With that, he had also aimed himself onto Vance's location. Abe and all of his weight started crashing down with his weaponized arm poised to strike at Vance's core. He wasn't thinking about whether or not he was going to kill the guy, the repercussions of that wasn't even on his mind, it didn't even register. What he did think about, however, was putting himself and all he had into the fight and winning.
Damon Viscous
Now what is in this brown bag? A sandwich! A breakfast sandwich! A breakfast sandwich that was supposed to have been eaten this morning. Was it still good...? Yeah, probably. He's lived off worse. Besides, who doesn't like a good old breakfast sandwich from a brown paper bag? Still smells good. Damon, pairing an Arizona tea with his brown bag of leftover breakfast food, found himself quite satisfied as he went over what he had while walking down the halls, rummaging through his bag. That coupled with his odd, rugged appearance looked nothing like a person that is to be involved with an institution - and a school no less. He was aware of that, even slightly amused by the reactions of the students. He was clean though and so was his clothes. The his choice of attire was out of place in facility such as this, but it was comfortable and it formed to his body pretty well already and anything new would just agitate the swarm anyhow. He made a turn to the left that would direct him to the arena where more of the athletic or offensive oriented powered students hung out. It was always fun watching students beat the snot out of each other, a little concerning, yeah. Some of them overdid it far too much, but it was nice to oversee the students' development in person.
There, he had found himself in the arena's lobby where the Asian coworker was begrudgingly filling out some paperwork. He walked past the reception desk and found himself in the viewing room above the arena. Looking down, he found that a fight was conveniently breaking out already. He had entered in just enough time to see the timer hit ten seconds. Finding himself a comfortable bench, he pulled out his food while looking at the fighters below. He recognized a couple of the regulars: Vespera and Cassandra, odd students those two were. With them was their boy-slave Vance, whom Damon actually felt quite sorry for. He couldn't help but figure he was always with him if it be out of some sense of obligation. On the other team, only one of them was a returning student. Valery Arsov, the Russian kid. Fine lad, that one. A little like his teammates in that he can be pretty confident, but he was pretty well rounded and had a pretty unique power. The kid with the light show was Drake Blackmore. He recognized him from some footage and files. Adam's son. He was actually pretty impressed by his display of power, but Damon reckoned it was to be expected... the boy came from a powerful family. But the other kid was new. Very new. He hadn't had a lot of time to look through the first year student's files, but he figured that the guy had to have been somewhat similar to Val or Drake to get in with them. It was hard to tell what he was doing from up here, but he managed to pick out a couple of peculiar details. Stone. Stone! The boy could turn to stone, how nice. His stance was trained and natural and his posture was different from the others in that he seemed to be totally engage in the oncoming fight. The ringing bell told him much of what he ought to know.
That instant had the new guy spring into life, the previous statue had sprinted his way across the battlefield. His hands were replaced with something obscure, but the way he went in all-out offensive was somewhat concerning. He'd have to keep an eye on him to evaluate his risk level. Valery stayed back and did his thing. His mouth was moving and his face was showing and snow fell from the ceiling, so clearly he moved his eye patch and started working. Drake practically set himself on fire, darn kid. I sure wouldn't want to get in a fight with these kids.
Damon took a bite out of the sandwich he had been holding, his mouth salivating the moment the food had touched his tongue. Ahh. Bagels, bacon, cheese and egg working in unison was nirvana.
Alright, time for assessment. Rock man would require more time to observe him. Valery, stylish as always. Drake at least got props for the nice display. The opposing team would be hard pressed, but it would be a pretty good match, he felt. Vespera would have issues with her shadow melding; there's nowhere to hide in the arena, especially not with Drake being a human torch. Vance had the advantage of being able to meld with the metal in there, but if Drake and Valery started working in unison, his efforts would be wasted. Cassandra... well, you never know with her. He took another bite of his sandwich and scratched his face. Assuming rock man and Drake are able to get keep their attention long enough, and that they withstand their attacks, Valery might just end the fight himself. Winter stopped the entire German army, the only person he could see getting an edge on him was Drake, and they were on the same team... aha! Got it! Val, oh Val. You cunning kid, you.

Vespera, Cassandra, and Vance
Vespera tried to look amused, but she had trouble maintaining it. It was clear that she had some personal stake in this fight that the other's hadn't made. She had no intention of having each person focus on one person like Drake was suggesting. They were going to tag team just one of them, then mop up the two remaining. Valery's power was already known from years past, and the other two both showed their powers in training, and were observed by Seth as well. The primary target was Valery. Reason being he would be the easiest to take down, and his clairvoyance had to go.
They let the secretary bring to the lockers, despite that they were already suited. Kate wasn't coming, or she was going to be too late for it to matter. Vance helped all of them take advantage of Vespera's regeneration while they waited. It would have to do. Once that was done they took their places behind the white line.
"Combatants, the match starts in one minute." That was their cue to power up. Drake's and Abe's display didn't phase them, they knew what to expect. Vespera's body rippled and bulged as she grew six more eyes, mandibles, and spider legs. Skin was replaced by a dense black exoskeleton. Vance crouched down and touched the metal ground with his bare hand. His body then began to take on the same look as the rest of the arena. This also made hard to pick out from a distance since he matched his environment aside from the stone slabs. When the siren sounded none of them made a move. The only person capable of doing anything so quickly from a distance was Drake, so they waited for Abe to close the distance. As he lifted off from the ground Vespera took action. His tunnel vision would be his downfall. Between Abe and Vance black strands took shape and solidified into a midair wall of shadow web. The positioning also put it between them and Drake.
Out of the three opponents, plasma was greatest threat to their defenses. Cassandra looked into Drake and took stock of his bodily functions. If they could disorient, ground him, make him pass out they wouldn't have much of a fight on their hands. She concentrated, and one by one the synapses in his brain began to slow down. Initial symptoms would be dulled senses, slower thoughts, and reaction time. So far thing's seemed like they'd pan out if they could get to Valery before the ice and temperature became a problem.
Kate
Kate stood there in stunned silence, her confident look had been replaced by one of pure anxiety. The gun slipped from her fingers and appeared to dissolve into the floor leaving no trace. She tried to speak "Wha-wha-wha." All that her lips did was repeat the same phrase, but in her head it was loud and clear. What have I done?! Other voices accompanied it. Why did she keep advancing even though I warned her? Why didn't she just leave. She implied that strangling me was an option to get me to lower the gun, was it a bluff? In a school of freaks she didn't want to take the risk that she could and would. What bothered her the most is how Jasmine dived at her before she was going to fire. At that point she had already cemented into her mind that she was going to fire, however she couldn't help but feel that if she had simply stopped her advance that she'd have refrained. Now there was no way to know, and she was going to receive the most severe punishment of all her time at the academy. I could be expelled for this... Ray was completely ignored as he whisked away the bleeding assailant. Was it her assailant though? Jasmine was clearly mentally unstable. What would have she done once she got close if she didn't have a bullet wound? Did she really have a case of self defense? When the security arrived to take her she groveling on her knees before the pool of blood. Her eye's streamed tears, and in her own mouth she tasted iron from chewing her lip incessantly. This is it she thought to herself. Her head hung low. She sobbed and waited to be taken away.
Seth
Seth didn't react to any part of the conversation until the race was brought up. He looked around at the others half amused, half condescending. The likelihood of anyone here being faster than him was extremely slim, but he wasn't the type to show off. "If anyone stumbles and hurts themselves somebody is going to have to bring them back to the academy and make up an excuse. I won't have anybody with a sprain or anything venturing into potentially dangerous ruins." His warning was issued about of responsibility, even though he doubted it would get heeded. Sure enough a few of them took off anyways. "In that case I'm holding up the back, I'll keep pace with whoever's the slowest. Anyone who feels the need to race go ahead, but like I said I will make sure you get back to the academy and miss out on this little venture if there are any mishaps. This goes for once were in the ruins too." It was clear by his tone that he was very serious about it. "one more thing. Nobody goes until until everyone has arrived." A response wasn't required or expected to this statement, however he planned to take anyone that went off on their own back to the school as well.

"I think there's an arena or something in this place, I don't know many schools that encourage fighting. It sounds interesting enough though, I should probably check it out. Seeing as there's already been a fight, I figure knowing the geography of the arena might be helpful." Trace thought as he began to head towards the arena. Trace shuffled through the cards in his hands, looked at one, and said "Used this a few times but what's little practice going to hurt?" Before placing the cards back in his pocket and shifting into a white badger looking creature with brown stripes. Trace started to run a short distance, before tripping. "Note to self, adjust before running at full speed" Trace thought before adjusting his balance and heading off towards the arena, though he did end up sliding into a wall every time he had to turn.

Neal and Claire
But, of course, Neal was bored and had very few friends, so he figured that he'd go to the viewing window and watch the fight. It began with a blast as Drake flamed up and Abe charged full-speed at the kid Vance. Val seemed to be taking a sort of general-like role in the fight, using some sort of telepathic power involving his missing eye to call out commands to the other two. Neal liked how Val fought. Combat isn't all hitting things; there's strategy involved too. This was quite the trio, with Drake providing ranged attacks, Abe providing brawn and close-range combat, and Val tying it together with his telepathy while simultaneously freezing the balls off their enemies. Neal noticed that there was a rather haggard-looking man in ragged clothes next to him, eating what appeared to be an old breakfast sandwich. The man looked like a homeless person, with holes torn in his clothing and a dirty white scarf around his neck. The man looked like a rather dodgy, nervous fellow as Neal scanned him from the corner of his eye. He seemed to be constantly looking over his shoulder, like someone who constantly feels as if they're being watched. He seemed odd in general (and was that the sound of buzzing?) but Neal didn't want to be rude, and so he turned to the man, half-sure he already knew Neal was examining him.
"Pretty good start to the fight." Neal said "It's gonna be a good one, I think. I'm Neal, by the way. I don't think I've seen you around here before." He didn't comment on Damon's ragged clothing or several-hours-old breakfast sandwich as he didn't want to be rude. Someone as nervous-looking and torn-up as this man could have an extremely powerful ability. Neal didn't want to piss anyone else off today if he could help it. Having the meatheaded lumberjack wanting revenge was bad enough.
Spoiler:
The doors of the arena lobby slid open revealing a swaggering figure, a 5'10" woman with boyish jet black hair that looked like the back hadn't been combed in a week. She wore black skinny jeans and an unzipped studded leather jacket that looked like it would set off metal detectors from a hundred yards away. Under the jacket, she wore a black Tank top from the Hard Rock Cafe. It featured the outline of a stratocaster guitar in red barbed wire under which was the name U2. Even her boots were studded with metal, and her gloves seemed to have something a little more than knuckles in them. Her face was twisted into a half-frown-half-scowl as if she were angry with the world. There was a silver nose piercing in her left nostril, and earbud wires descended from her ears to where they met her black iPhone 4s in one of her jacket pockets. She strutted across the room and was soon standing next to Neal on the side opposite Damon. She sighed audibly when she saw the battle going on, and rested her forehead on the glass. So there was a fight going on. Hopefully they'd get out soon so she could kick someone's ass. Claire was angry today, as usual. This f*cking school doesn't have any f*cking cars! Claire thought to herself There are no goddamned roads for Christ's sake! What the f*ck am I supposed to do all year? Masturbate?
She huffed loudly and watched as some hyper-emo chick shot black spider webs at a dude made out of stone. Yeah, because that's gonna work. That plasma dude seemed pretty badass. He was kinda cute as well, though Claire wasn't one to fawn over a guy just because he was attractive.
"Y'know how long this battle's gonna last?" Claire asked the guy next to her.
"Until only one team remains, I suppose." Neal replied, turning to look at her.
"Oh lovely. I get to watch people get their asses kicked."
"More or less."

Anthony Belichini "Ahem uh hello?" the orange haired girl either ignored him or didn't notice him either way he was about to ask again when some crazy person was shouting inside. He deiced it was probably not be safe to stay in this exact place he didn't exactly want to get shot or blown up.He started to walk back towards his building when he noticed a large amount of students clustered around a certain window....... he strolled over to it he tried to peak over but he was too short. He could only catch quick glimpses of what was happening from what he saw it was a pretty epic fight "hey uh whats happening here?" he said then suddenly he felt exhausted "Oh no not now" he thought be fore he stumbled and smashed into the opposite wall. his eyes closed and he immediately fell asleep.

The badger like creature found itself in front of the arena after having run into seven or so walls, it walked inside to find a lobby and what seemed to be an receptionist desk. The creature having no intent towards actually entering a fight, ignored the counter and headed towards a small group that that was watching the on going skirmish. Upon entering what appeared to be a viewing area, the creature was replaced by Trace. After regaining his balance, Trace looked through the window into the arena. "Wait, are those the guys who just beat the snot out of the Scottish dude earlier?" He asked no-one in particular.

Merry had never expected a quick visit to her parents house would take up so much time. Not only was it difficult to find a boat there and back again, she also had to rent a car once she got back to the mainland in order to haul herself and a suitcase full of clothing, and a few personal effects, back to her parents house. The decision to make the trip back to her parents house for a short visit was a very sudden choice, but Merry wouldn't have had it any other way. Her time at the academy was overlapping with her little sisters birthday, and even though it seemed like such a small even to some, Merry wouldn't have missed it for the world. Who knows, maybe her little sister would finally figure out her powers on her birthday, that has happened to Merry.
The trip, initially, was only going to last a weekend. Just long enough for Merry to spend some time with her little sister and parents, and maybe catch up with some old friends. But every time she mentioned leaving her little sister would put on the saddest, lost puppy, look she could. And Merry just couldn't say no to that face. That or another thing would come up, like the boat failing to show at the docks or her fathers car battery dying or a weather warning that her mother would refuse to have Merry take the risk in boating back over to the school. Merry knew the trip would have to end eventually, she couldn't be excused from her classes any longer then she needed to be.
After a time, in which Dragonbud doesn't know because she is too lazy to read the ic, Merry was finally back on her way to the academy. It was another tearful goodbye from her parents and sister, but Merry was almost too anxious to get back to the strange school. She wondered what had happened in her absence, she had left a note for Lily warning her about her sudden leave but was unsure if she had read it. Merry could only hope they hadn't crossed her name off the attendance list or reassigned Lily a new roommate. Merry swallowed her nerves, feeling much like she did on her first day at the academy, as she stepped off the boat back onto the grounds of the school.

Trace looked at the group he had stumbled upon, a girl and two boys, one of which looked like he had a bad tour of the scissor factory. He then took note of the participants, one was on fire, another has a weird deadly looking metal arm thing and another seemed to be an over sized acid spitting spider. "These fights aren't to the death are they? Because unless they have super durability or healing I don't the most people take well to being on fire." Trace asked the girl.

Drake Deltori Blackmore.
Spoiler:
The moment the fight started, Drake sprung into action. He knew the plan they made well, and because of them, he had plenty of time to come up with tactics and plans. He wanted Vespera, and her alone. Not these other two losers. The first thing that he needed to do to accomplish that was separate them. Drake quickly dove behind a large stone slab, the moment the fight started. He put his back to the stone, and quickly stretched his plasma infused hands straight out. Quickly, two large orbs of plasma, bigger than he is, were generated from his plasma wreathe. They shined brighter than his usual plasma. He kept them suspended at his finger-tips for a moment, he took this time to peak around the corner. Apparently Abe had decided to bum-rush them right off the bat - So bold, so rough. Don't take 'em all without me. Abe's tactic wasn't the best since they were all grouped up, they could easily overwhelm him. Which is why Drake's going to do this:
In a sudden movement, Drake jumped into the air, orbs in hand, by shooting a powerful thrust of plasma from his feet. He propelled himself right up into the air, leaving behind a beautiful glowing display of cosmic plasma behind him. "Scatter like roaches!" Drake shouted as he threw the two orbs of plasma at them. He didn't care whether he alerted them or not - In fact, he wanted them to see the attack coming so they'd dodge. The two orbs flew over the wall of darkness that Vespera had created. Once they were several feet above them, they glowed much brighter than previously, before they had exploded. They sent plasma in all directions, before they dissipated moments later. The flash of plasma would sure would devastating against organic targets. He stayed up in the air, waiting for the opening to get Vespera.

A confident smirk had crept up on Jake's face. He pulled in a little closer to Arianna. "Nah, the damsel is too cliche. You? You'd make a good partner." Jake spoke in a smooth, sly tone, "But, heh, if you ever need saving; I'm the guy you need to call." He laughed quietly, before rubbing his hands together, and giving Arianna a cheery look. She was nice, and he felt at ease with her - Like they had something in common, but Jake really didn't know. While looking at her, he swore he saw something in the distance... A black figure. Strangely, the figure disappeared. A trick of his mind...? Or this ghost that Sage mentioned? While it may have been foolish to do so, Jake disregarded it, for now. Believing his time would be better spent keeping an eye out for a bear or something.

It was silently agreed that Seth barking orders at them would be tolerated, for now. The reason why they went with it was because it didn't conflict with them, or they didn't care enough about it. Seth was in charge, sort of. He was older than the rest of them and technically the assistant of Adam - It was in their best interests to not piss him off lest they try to bust him. Jake didn't care. Sage didn't mind. It only caused Gabe to roll an eye. And Jaska thought he was bossy, and just pouted in response. Regardless, they were going to keep their mouths shut for the sake of not starting a fight.
Then there was nothing else worth going over, other than the fantastic race. The race that Gabe was going to win. There's no way in hell that she'd lose to these pretzel necks. A smirk crept up on Gabe's face. A confident smirk that said that she was ready to win. Gabe quickly yips, "123Go!" Before she jetted off, her speed and footwork was good for a girl her age. Leaving behind a trail of footprints in the snow in her wake.
Once the race started, Jaska kicked himself into gear. He charged forward, his running style quickly degraded from a two legged sprint, to rushing on all fours, using his hands like they were nothing more than legs. His speed was much higher than a regular human. But as he ran, he felt a bit of a rush coming on - A familiar feeling that a lion feels while he chases a rabbit. He felt like yet another hunter.
Sage had similar speed to Jaska, just was a bit faster. Though, they weren't going to cheat by using their speed. They were running at a lessened speed, consistent with everyone else.
On the less spectacular side of things; Jake was tripped by Arianna the moment he tried to take a step forward. He landed in the snow, face first. Egad! Such a dirty trick for such a beautiful woman. He felt the shivers creep up his face as he laid there in defeat. Until the best idea ever came into his head. He'd play a little trick on Arianna. Yes. The illusions were the best tool for some innocent deception. Suddenly, Jake's body turned completely invisible as he stood straight up. He started dashing forward. Jake created an illusion in front of himself, an illusion that perfectly copied his appearance. He had applied sound and touch to the illusion (Just in case Arianna tried to touch it). Smell and taste were irrelevant, unless she, you know. Hell, his detail to his illusions were so great that he made footprints for the illusion. The only way that people would see through it is the fact that Jake made the illusory footprints disappear after a certain distance - Though someone would have to look back. It would be hard to focus on keeping the illusion going and running, but long as he doesn't trip over a stick.
The illusion copy of himself ran ahead of Arianna, "What? Can't keep up?"
Carmen 'Lily' Santo.
Someone knocking at the door? Lily raised her head up off the bed, and looked at the door. She was curious as to who would be there. She did get a note from Merry saying that she'd be gone for a little while, but that doesn't explain why she doesn't get a key unless... Eh. Screw it. Lily got out of the bed and hobbled over to the door, which was promptly swung open. She was greeted to the sight of a familiar friend, "Jesse?" Lily asked, "How'd you find my - Uh, doesn't matter. I have something to talk to you about." Lily then grabbed him by the arm and pulled him in before anyone could see him hanging around the girl's dorm and start to get ideas. She slapped the door behind them, dramatically, before getting to business, "It's that Amimoore puta," Lily starts off trying to fight the tears, "She found out what I could do and blackmailed me like a wh*re. Not I feel like the secret of my power is going to get out and I'm going have to relive it all again."

Valery Arsov
Val grinned, a manic, wild sort of thing, his one eye taking in everything and absolutely nothing all at once. Abe had been caught up in the berserker rage as well, rushing straight at their adversaries-while normally this tactic wasn't the best, Val thought it could work. We do not need to beat them. They only need to beat themselves That sort of Zen philosophy was pretty rare for Val, who didn't linger long on the philosophical complexities of their battle. There was fighting to be had.
Hm. Vespera had become a giant spider, Vance merged with the metal (he was tricky to spot, especially at a distance, but as snow fell, his camouflage would quickly become inept), and Cassandra...just stood there. They all just stood there. Eh. This was a little worrisome, but Val wasn't rattled. He had plenty of space between himself and the others, and Drake and Abe weren't about to go down quickly.
Aha! There was Drake-the little bastard had darted behind one of the stone barriers and emerged with his guns blazing. Two orbs of plasma, like miniature suns, sent painful, glaring light rebounding off the metal blast doors of the Academy, catching the pure white falling snow, and Val briefly had to avert his gaze-a rush of confidence rolled over his normal cautiousness. I have chosen very good teammates, I think. Laughing, caught up in the rush, Val forced himself to calm down, taking deep breaths. If he exerted himself too much, burned himself out, their strategy would implode. He couldn't let the giddiness do them in. Val fought to bring his emotions in check, his rapid-fire heartbeat under control, and focused on making the Arena resemble the outside of the Academy.
Snow was falling in earnest now. A bead of sweat trickled down Val's face and hardened into ice, but he didn't notice. A faint numbness was creeping across the very exterior of Val's skin, but this okay. His left leg tingled with pins and needles as the floor of black ice enveloped the floor of the Arena, crawling out towards the dividing line between the two halves. Val figured it would be there in twenty more seconds or so, affording them a considerable area of defense. A thin layer of snow had gathered across the entire Arena, but it wasn't even an inch thick. Not yet. Val grunted, deciding to take one knee. He could still roll out of the way if an impossibly fast attack came at him, but this was taxing. The air in the Arena was now around fifty degrees, perhaps colder. No, not perhaps-definitely. A faint cloud of diamond dust rolled in front of Val, forcing him to fight down his overconfidence once again. This fight was not over yet-the war of attrition had yet to even begin. Abe could still go down, Drake could still burn himself out.
But for now? The cold was coming in, and Val, his head and beard seemingly dandruff-ridden with snow, was weathering it just fine.
Arianna Madrigal
Arianna couldn't help but giggle-which was a mirthful, rich sound, like most of Arianna's sounds were-as she took off across the snow, boots-not-intended-for-running working just fine for Arianna's jog. She wasn't going to be winning any track medals anytime soon, but who cared? They were having fun-and ignoring Seth's killjoyness. C'mon. There's snow half a foot thick on the ground and a race to be had-anybody sprains their ankle, we'll just tell the truth. We were having fun in the snow and got hurt. Arianna stopped listening to the Symphony, too caught up in the energy and excitement of the moment, and feeling somewhat more reassured from Jake's offer of assistance than she had from Abraham's. Gabe stripped her by, followed a second later by Jaska, prompting Arianna to yell (good-naturedly) "Show offs!" I'll kick your asses in karaoke! she, however, couldn't even manage mock anger at them: this was fun.
Yeah. The Academy was going to be a good fit. Phantasms at the edge of the forest and ankles sprained in the snow would stay off Arianna's mind for now: and, too blissful to listen to the universe's pulse, Arianna wouldn't have much in the way of supernatural warnings, either. In stark contrast to the kids fighting viciously in the Arena at the very same moment, or even the beasts (or something stranger...) of the woods, Arianna's guard was totally down.
But it was pretty damned hard to have fun and keep your guard up.
"You gonna lay in the snow forever, slowpoke?" Arianna shouted back to Jake, turning to see if maybe she'd actually really hurt him, which quickly sobered her up-but then Jake sprinted right by her, prompting an indignant "huff!" from Arianna. She double-timed it, chasing faster after him, but he was pretty fast. "This is no fair! Are you all faster than me!" Then Jake started taunting her...ooh. Now it was on.
Say what you will of Drake and Vespera and Vance and Abe: the real competition was being had on the way to the ruins.
And that was when a brilliant idea-well, not that brilliant, but seemingly brilliant to the girl who never relied on her abilities much-Arianna noticed something. Jaska was doing his four-legged thing, running like a puma on crack. She couldn't match that, no way, but it did make her think: could her own ability give her an edge? Arianna spared a bit of focus towards her gifts, trying to ignore her burning legs and windburned lungs (Arianna, honey, you've gotta work on your cardio more). The Symphony, clear and accessible as always, rang to her, and she felt her feet begin to fall in time, a steady (but quick) pace righting itself out of her chaotic sprint. She focused, humming best she could while trying desperately to breathe faster.
What Arianna did was tap into her own Song, the notes she contributed to the cosmic symphony. And she made them perk up just a bit, play a little faster. Arianna's legs began to feel more energized, like she'd just started running again, and she caught up to "Jake" in two or three seconds (even if she was still leagues behind Jaska and Gabe), a look of fierce pride on her face. Well, as fiercely proud as you can look while sucking wind and trying to hum: Arianna's sprinting lapsed whenever she had to stop and suck in more air, making it tricky to keep pace with Jake.
"Hah!" Arianna said, mostly because trying to really talk trash would just slow her down more. Still...she couldn't resist something. Arianna turned her head, sticking her tongue out at Jake as she hummed harder, pouring a bit more energy into the Song. She gained a step ahead of him, then two, and-
Fell facefirst into the snow. If she'd been Listening more to the world around her, she might've seen that coming. Heard it coming. Eh. Semantics. Arianna laid, facefirst in the snow, for a second or two, then rolled over laughing. "Okay, you guys. I lose." Breathing hard-and not entirely from the running, Arianna thought, because she felt a different kind of weariness sink in, something more spiritual than physical, Arianna sat up and watched "Jake" run ahead after his siblings.
"Hey, what kind of shoes are you wearing? Your footsteps are.....oh you sneaky little..." Arianna stood up, looking all around for where Jake really was. "You'd better stay hidden, illusion boy." Arianna rolled up a snowball, and then realized that threatening him before he showed himself probably wasn't a good idea, strategically speaking. Oh well. "I'm hitting you with this as soon as you do. Assuming I can throw better than I can run."

Anthony Bellichini
"zzzzzzzzz Huh What!" his eyes opened a little and he groaned as he stood back up "ow my head danget" he rubbed the side of his head. He really wanted to get his narcolepsy under control 'Twas the whole reason he came to this place. Apparently no one had noticed his little "stumble" must have been a pretty dang good fight. He was just too dang short to see over everyone well he had a solution to that.He raised his abnormally long arms to the wall and hauled himself up digging his claws into the wall to gain traction soon he had climbed a few feet higher than the others he then turned and latched himself so he would be facing the window. If anyone turned around they would see him seemingly stuck on the wall a few feet up.The fight truly was epic some guy seemed to be throwing glowing light at a few guys and there was a giant spider....What? "Heh maybe this place will be a bit better than I thought and all this on the first day before classes!"

"Yeah, you missed some guy with some sort of hard light or physic powers just beat the snot out of a Scott." Trace said to kid that scissors didn't seem to like. "Anyway, I'm half sure someone is going to die in this fight." He this looked back at the ongoing battle. Abraham Gene
Abraham was initially caught by surprise despite anticipating their retaliation; so it would seem he misjudged their reactions. He was caught in the web but still rocketed forward, his own inertia far outweighing the velocity of the webs that entangled him. Everything moved slowly through his perception, he had to regain his bearings now lest he found himself vulnerable. Think, think! Shift weight to shoulder. Abe turned his body a couple degrees to aim his shoulder towards the ground, the moment of impact closing in within barely a couple feet. Roll. Abe's reflexes were sharp enough that as soon he touched the ground, he shifted his weight down along his back and clumsily rolled along the metal surface until he found himself in midair again right side up where he planted his feet into the ground and slid back a couple feet facing the direction he originally came from. With a final tug of his arms, he cut himself free from the webbing that had previously restrained him.
Vespera. The girl did that. He discerned. No, he had to focus his efforts one at a time. Overwhelm. He faced Vance once more. Metal. Abe sprinted forward once more towards Vance, the ends of his arms molding back into giant and brutish hands. During his mad dash, Abe made effort to anticipate his reactions. Sports payed off in that if his target were to dart to the side at any moment, he'd be able to adjust and grab hold of them anyhow - and the arena was just another sport to him - he wouldn't make the same mistake by misjudging again. Closing in on Vance whom was only a few feet away at this point, he leaped forward with his arms and hands outstretched and roaring like a wild cat ready to tackle him into the ground with a little more than a thousand pounds of force driving him.
If impact were made upon a sure grab, the two of them would surely crash into metal ground with Abe on top, securely locking his grip upon arms or shoulders, or at least attempting to, as he pinned him down. Any normal fight would drive Abe to start wailing on their head, but Vance was currently made of metal and it would have been a fruitless effort. All he could hope for was as soon as Vance was pinned down, he'd take his arms and try to bend them out of shape. He wouldn't quite be thinking through the tactic or if Vance's his arms would be kept in such a position should he ever convert back, but if this were situation were to come true, Abe's thoughts would only be in the present in the effort to win.
Damon Viscous
The scruffy man was aware of Neal before he had even said a word, though despite this he continued eating his sandwich and watching the fight until he was addressed. Upon turning around, he saw Neal. He had made a comment about how the fight was good so far and followed it up with a question regarding who he was and introduced himself. His name was Neal. Sounded familiar, he must've scanned over his name while looking through files. He was young, so the kid had to be a student. Of course he didn't know who he was, Damon barely ever got out and this was, what? The first day of school? Oh whatever, the kid seemed nice enough. He checked his palms to wipe off any crumbs (also a pretty subtle means of making sure the hive was settled and kept in place) and stuck it forward to shake the student's hand. He said, "Yeah, it sure is, isn't it? My name's Damon, Mr. Viscous."
He withdrew his hand and took a swig of his cold and refreshing tea, its sweet nectar soothing the parched flesh of his mouth. Setting the drink back down to his side on the bench he turned to face Neal again to introduce himself a little more. "I don't reckon you have. I work here as the head networking manager in one of the main control rooms, so I don't get out very much aside from a couple breaks now and again."
Damon turned his attention back to the fight. Drake worked with good synergy with the new guy and assaulted their side with a couple of those flaming orbs of his from the air. It was flashy and distracting and it looked like they were trying to scatter them and keep them separated and distracted while Val's storm thickened. Vespera made a very good judgement call with those webs of hers and caught the new guy in the air. Unexpectedly though, rock man made an excellent recovery and, despite Vespera just targeting him, still focused his efforts on Vance. This captivated his interest and made him more keen to capture much of the fight's details. Who was the new guy anyway?
The sounds of another pair footsteps approached and looking over, he saw a rather rough around the edges looking girl. Crude metal attire and the vocabulary to match - could've swore he never heard such brash talk combined with the word "ass" used to casually in a school before, that sounded more like stuff he remembered hearing on the streets. Is that where she came from?
Eh, no matter. He ought not to judge a book by it's cover... and the sound it makes, apparently. She did ask a question, so as a faculty member, Damon supposed he had some obligation to answer that to the best of his abilities. "That depends on the fighters, miss." He said. "The guy standing back, his name is Valery. If he's on a team, odds are his team is biding their time for the cold to take them."
He took a final bite of his sandwich, finishing it off for god as he stuffed what remains into his mouth. After chewing it up and swallowing it down he added, "the guy with all the fire - I'm pretty sure he's Drake. I don't know the guy made of stone though, I'm not quite sure what he's capable of.
"Team Edgar Allen Poe on the other hand..." he said sarcastically, "they're regulars here. They're also returning students, so what they have over the other team, I believe, is experience. But the power match-ups don't seem to be in their favor and they all seem to play some support role... I have difficulty picking out the synergy."
Jesse Sutor
Of course, Jesse smiled as soon the door had opened and was of course amused by her surprised reaction. He had to keep himself from blurting everything out at once, so when Lily started asking him how he figured out where her dorm was, the entire explanation was practically at the tip of his tongue! He started saying, "Oh! Well you see, I--" but was of course cut off by surprised was Lily suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him into her room. Wait, what? What's going on? This was weird, what was happening? That? Oh, but, wait, what? They only just-- his thoughts were tripping over other thoughts and he barely had time to form a coherent idea of what was going on, but whatever idea he did have was put to rest as soon as Lily turned back to face him.
Lily was talking fast and obviously trying to keep herself together, but he was definitely able to pick all the important details. Amimoore was involved, somehow managed to blackmail Lily, and Lily is afraid of her secret getting out, her power specifically, and that she's about to relive whatever. Now he did figure she had some history because she didn't want to talk about something earlier today in the training room, but it had to have been pretty bad. She's clearly afraid of "reliving" it. The situation seemed pretty severe and all Jesse could really do is try to suss it all out - this was a lot of BS to have happened since this morning, and so soon in the school year too. He wanted to put his hand on her shoulder to help reassure her or something, but honestly, they had just met the other day. He wouldn't blame her if she didn't trust him.
He was honestly lost for words. He couldn't figure out what to say besides, "Oh," But he figured he ought to try.
"I... I don't know what to say." He said with a frown. Okay, maybe a bad start. "What exactly are you afraid of reliving? How bad is your secret?"

Neal and Claire
"That was me. Hi." Neal said, turning to Trace. Everything here was getting extremely complicated. Four people seemed to be talking to him at once, and he couldn't keep track of all the conversations. One kid seemed to think that someone was going to die (which wasn't unheard of) and the other seemed to be dozing off. Claire was simply brooding and watching as Abe beat the tar out of Vance. Suddenly Neal's field of vision lit up as Drake let loose two massive balls of plasma. The roar from the impact was deafening and the light was blinding, but he couldn't see if anyone got hit or not.
"Whoa!" Claire exclaimed, shielding her eyes.
"Yeah. This fight is intense." Neal replied "I'm Neal, by the way." He directed this last part to three other people.
"I'm Claire." Claire stated flatly, turning back to the fight. She had absolutely no interest in anyone else watching the fight, though Neal beating up a giant scotsman caught her attention. She hadn't socialized much on her first day at the academy and still needed to make some friends. It was a lot harder than she remembered. Back in Black Fall, Pharaoh helped her find most of her friends. She remembered them all fondly, even Warpig, though he was an asshole. People like Raphael and Damien were true friends who would do practically anything for her. She had known them since she was a kid, and knew that they always had her back in any fight. Claire desired to gain the same assets here so that she'd be safe against any mutant. Neal was on her list of possible friends, as were the combatants in the ring. Drake and Abe were both awesome offensive threats, though she hadn't seen quite what Vespera could do yet. She didn't want to judge a book by its power, though. All six of the fighters could be total assholes.
"So..." Neal said, lacking conversation topics "Powers?" Claire looked up at him and pointed to a glass across the room. A grayish blur appeared to travel across the floor towards a bottle of water sitting on a table across the room. It floated in midair, at about the height of Claire's shoulders, and flew back to her quickly. She tossed the bottle to Neal, but he sat it down on the counter, unsure of its safety.
"So you're a telekinetic?" he asked.
"Sorta." she replied "So what can you do?" Neal nodded and held out his left hand. A purple scimitar appeared in it. He swung the sword expertly in the air and then caused it to vanish in a flash of light. Claire smiled deviously. This guy had a cool power.
"I can construct objects out of energy." he said, holding out his hand and creating a purple rose. He handed the rose to Claire, and she stared at him with an eyebrow raised. "For you." he finished, smiling. He mostly did it as a joke, but there was something appealing about Claire. She was moderately attractive, no beauty queen, but there was something about her that he was attracted to.
"Keep your pants on, loverboy." Claire half-snapped back, a smile still on her face as she twirled the rose in her hand "I'm not looking for a boyfriend right now. Just had a pretty bad breakup and I'm not quite feeling up to dating someone else." She looked over at Drake as he worked his plasmatic badassery. He was cute, much cuter than Neal "And either way, I like toughness in my guys, not finesse."
"Well I don't mean to brag." Neal replied, creating his bow out of thing air "but I'm quite the fighter. I took down a giant scotsman with super strength and regeneration earlier."
"Cool story bro." she said "That sounds about as credible as the f*cking unicorn burger I ate for lunch. How do I know you're not bullshitting me?"
"Well then maybe I'll have to spar someone later and show you just how tough I am."
"Is that a challenge?" Claire leaned back against the glass and smiled. Neal hesitated a moment. Telekinetics were extremely strong, but he was pretty sure he'd be able to take her on.
"Hell yes." he replied. Claire smiled wider and pulled a pack of cigarettes from out of one of the inside pockets of her jacket. She held it in her mouth and lit up with a red BIC lighter.
"Good, good." she exhaled, sending a puff of smoke into the air "Cigarette?"
"No thanks." he said "I don't smoke."

Merry wrapped her arms around her torso as she quickened her pace towards the school. Had it gotten colder since she had left? It certainly felt that way. The mainland felt so much calmer and temperate. The snow and the wind at the island almost seemed more intense and unwelcoming, her breaths leaving her mouth in quick puffs as she trudged into the school. It made her wonder if the school purposely made the weather so poor, maybe as a form of protection or to keep unwanted attention away. What Merry wouldn't do for some sort of beach day, or at least some nice sunshine and a warm breeze. She shook the snow out of her hair once she was in the doorway, stomping her boots to keep from tracking water inside. "It could always be worse." She muttered into her fingers, exhaling into them to warm them back up and remove the frigid tingle.
As she walked through the halls towards her room, greeting the few acquaintances she had made at the school in her short time there, she began to hear the whispers of what had been going on lately. Merry tried her hardest not to eavesdrop, it wasn't very polite, but it was almost impossible not to be curious. Friends quickly talking about a group of kids who had left campus to go explore some dangerous place, or so the rumors tell. Others chatted about the fights that had been breaking out, and that another was taking place right now. Some of the schools toughest fighters were duking it out for whatever reason. As much as Merry wanted to go see that, there were more important matters to attend too, like seeing her roommate.
The walk to the room was quick, but it felt like forever. Merry could only hope Lily hadn't gone off exploring dangerous and restricted areas of the schools island, or was fighting in some arena that may or may not be safe. Merry pulled the key out of her pocket, alining it with the hole in the handle of the door. She pushed it in slowly, leaning in close to the door to speak through it. "Hey Lily!" Merry spoke, almost as if warning her roommate of her coming in. She would have hated to catch Lily changing or killing someone or something. Merry shook the morbid images from her head. "I'm back from my break! And I've got a gift to share with you!" After saying this, Merry shook her backpack, a rustling and bumping could be heard from inside. "I'm coming in!"
And without waiting for a response, Merry turned the key in the lock and pushed open the door. Merry hadn't expected to see someone else in the room with Lily, and her first instinct was to cover her eyes in case something was going on. But to keep from embarrassing herself she didn't. "Oh!" Merry said, the surprise obvious in her voice. "I didn't expect to see a visitor!" She tried to keep a cheery tone.

" Oh,so that was you back there." Trace said to Neal "Remind me not to get on your badsides. While we're all getting to know each other, my name's Travis but everyone calls me Trace. Jake Vin Valos.

"I'm hitting you with this as soon as you do. Assuming I can throw better than I can run."
The whole scene with Arianna had completely broken Jake's focus. Merely because he was laughing so hard. The illusion of himself had faded away, and he just popped out of no where - Knelt over laughing. This was the perfect trick to play on Arianna, and she made it go better than planned. Then he remembered what her power was. Hell if he knew - She might have a song that'll make him explode. Jake quickly stopped laughing and turned invisible. That wasn't the end of his jokes and pranks, however. A circle of many illusory Jakes had surrounded Arianna, forming a perfect circle around. All of which are intangible. They all spoke at once, but at a tolerable volume, "You can't hit all of us!" They all spoke in a cheeky tone.
Before they all had disappeared and it revealed the real Jake, kneeling over with his hand out to help Arianna up. He is a gentleman, after all. "Yeah, heh, heh, I'm an asshole. But you gotta say that was funny." He laughed a bit, "Now let me help you up, they're going to leave us."
Sage Lucas Pimm, Gabriela Mya, & Jaska Din Valos.
The race was finally finished. The winner was none other than Jaska, who had the highest speed than anyone else. His speed had lessened by the time he came in sight of the ruins. He stopped, being a few meters away from their 'finish-line', the ruins. He had tired himself out a bit there during the race. He dropped down onto his back, he fully extended his wings mid-fall. He lazily dropped, his muscles and body had loosened, tired from the full body sprint. He landed with a gentle sound. The snow under him had an indent left in it that looked like a twisted, demonic, snow-angel. He spoke to no one in particular, "Haha... That... Was fun..." He panted in between words. He shivered a bit. The snow around him started to gradually melt as his body heated up. Steam came off his body - It felt good. A dumb, lazy, smile crept up on his face, which was wiped just as fast as he realized that he was lying next to a haunted mansion.
Next up was Gabe, she came to a sliding stop, scraping the snow with her boots. "Dammit Jask..." She says immediately after giving the area around her a good look, and noticing. "Ya' cheated, ya' imp."
"Ha... Hehe... You said no... super... speed, right?" Jaska pants out a another sentence.
By the time that Sage made it to the ruins, they had stopped their run, and turned it into a causal walk. Because they had sensed a presence coming from the ruins, sensed it from far away. Not just any presence. A presence of a undeniably malicious presence. Now they had remembered why they haven't gotten the gall to ever enter this place before. Sage had hung back for a few moments, hiding behind the trees and watching Gabe and Jaska for a moment. They had reflected light of themself and became invisible to sight. They lacked the courage to proceed forward and get closure for the trapped spirit. Despite their heavenly ability, and boasting that they had repelled the evil spirits that lurk here. Then they had swallowed that irrational fear of the unknown - There is not a soul that cannot be mended by Sage. They took a step forward, turning visible for everyone to see. "This is the place." Sage took a few steps forward and looked up at the ruins. An eerie place alright.
The ruins appeared to be a massive building in a state of disarray. It was very similar to the dorms in appearance, it was two stories high, and had plenty of windows that were all boarded up with hard wooden planks. The place was made of a dark-red brick, and had grey concrete set in between it, the stone was chipped, cracked and scraped beyond belief. The side that the group was currently facing as the side that was the "complete" side. The other half of the ruins was incomplete, and is in generally poor state - Looking like it has been destroyed, rather than incomplete, and belongs in a movie. The group wasn't the first group to have run through there. Inside, there would be graffiti, mattresses, trash, and other signs that people have been here for less than legal reasons. The. The front doors were wide open, letting in a freezing wind. A less than uplifting sign, like, in the horror movies.
"Well, time to ignore all the horror movies I've watched. Let's go, Jask." Gabe says, taking a step forward only to be stopped by Sage grabbing on to her arm and making her stop.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Sage says, playfully. Remembering the orders that Seth gave the group.
"Oh yeah..." Gabe sarcastically finger quoted, "Nobody goes in until err'body's here." She laughed a bit before crossing her arms.

"Look..." Lily turned her back to Jesse, nervous and being bombarded with emotion. She felt like it was ages since she had the chance to open up again. To feel safe. Though, she wasn't thinking straight right now. She was threatened, and felt like her secret was safe with Jesse. "There was much more to my ability than I told you... I can... Make..." She looked to the side, before turning around to face Jesse. "...Meta-humans stronger. Like, much stronger. If we had a water-bender and I charged him, I bet he can make the entire ocean move with one thought." Good. Now she felt a bit of relief, just getting that off her chest. "If people found out, they'd use me... For their own purposes - But, what I'm the most afraid of is someone getting overcharged.... That'd be bad..." Before she could continue, the door suddenly moved, and she made it a mission to keep herself quiet until she knew who.

Oh. Merry. She was gone ever since the training session. She had come at just the right time to make Lily close her mouth! "Yes... You can open your eyes." Lily rolled her eyes, this moment was interrupting by her bumbling room-mate. She quietly mumbled to herself, "If we were doing that, I would have put something on the door."

Vespera, Cassandra, and Vance
With Drake taking cover, Vespera turned towards Abe to help Vance tag team him. However, he then flew out of cover and hurled two large orbs of plasma over the wall. They expanded explosively sending waves of heat in all directions. The plasma itself dissipated before it reached anyone, but it was close. Vespera and Vance weren't phased, Cassandra looked red, and she took a quick glance to make sure her hair wasn't on fire. Despite the hazards of long hair, she stubbornly refused to cut it. The way he was waiting just above the wall convinced Vespera that he wanted her alone. She was happy to oblige him, not without pulling some dirty tricks first though. At her will the wall of web began to fall on top of Vance and his stone opponent. He saw it coming and merged into the floor to avoid the giant net and Abe alike.
With Drake back out in the open Cassandra considered attacking his brain again, but a sharp look from Vespera told her not to. Two of her eyes motioned to Valery still back on his side of the arena freezing things over. She was never one for following orders exactly, however she did agree that he needed to be stopped. Cassandra knew that Vespera wouldn't condone something quick that gave her the upper hand for a bit, so she gave Drake the sensation of being nailed in the balls before heading off to deal with Valery. Messing with her opponents sense of sight made it look like she still hadn't moved. That'd buy her some time to get closer to her target. She sprinted up to ice, then proceeded cautiously from then on.
Seeing her chance, Vespera created a black shield in her left hand, and fired a ball of confessed shadow web at Drake with the other. She then braced to avoid, or block any sort of retaliation that would follow.
(Will add Seth later, got to run.)

Anthony Bellichini
His eyes lit up as the Claire seemingly conjured glowing metal out of thin air his eyes nearly popped out of his skull when he saw Trace change into a small animal "woah" he said before scrambling down the wall "That was...awesome!" What else can you do?" he quickly realized that he was being a bit overzealous so he calmed down a bit. "Uh yeah my names Anthony and well my powers are kinda obvious" He let his arms droop to his sides to show how long they were. Then he held out his hands "In addition to being able to give an epic burn to anyone in question I can also climb things as you already saw and "I can lift heavy things too" he showed this by walking over to a vending machine and using his arms lifted the entire thing over his head before putting it back down. "I know its not nearly as cool as shape shifting or weapons but it gets the..job......done". His eyes closed and he fell backwards into the vending machine falling asleep instantly.

Valery Arsov
"I love my teammates!" Valery slurred. "You at least don't let me fight the spider. I hate spiders."
Valery realized vaguely he was speaking in Russian.
Here came Cassandra. Valery didn't let up on his winter powers, making the snow come down faster and thicker even as Cassandra began closing in on him. The black ice, slick and treacherous, kept her from getting here anytime soon, but she would get there. Valery closed his eyes, feeling a thickness surge up from his numbed toes to his ankles and shins. His blood was getting thicker. Val couldn't die of hypothermia, he couldn't even suffer from frostbite-but he could still freeze himself. And thawing out, as thick as the ice around him was, wasn't going to be a quick endeavor.
Slowly standing back up, perhaps taking a second or two, Valery readied himself for a fight with Cassandra. He didn't think she had any supernatural strength of her own, merely her powers of adjusting others, so he should be able to endure whatever physical assault she threw at him. Ah, damn. I forgot Valery knelt back down into the snow, but his ankles and feet had stopped responding. Val laid down in the snow for a moment, feeling it coat his arms and legs, before slowly rising back up. What he was doing would only speed up his body's freezing, only make his veins and arteries constrict up more quickly. Val wasn't going to be able to avoid that much longer anyways, what with the air in the Arena getting closer and closer to freezing. The cold was coming in faster, now, as ice and snow began chilling the air around it, only Drake's plasma and the insignificant body heat of the other fights threatening to slow its advance.
"Cooommmeee geeettt sooommmeee." Valery slurred, the snow clinging to his suit and coat hardening into a thin layer of ice, one that was thickening gradually, sapping the moisture from the air. This would reduce his mobility to basically nothing, but the girl couldn't threaten him with much more than punches and kicks anyways, could she? Hers was the chemical alteration, and she couldn't do anything serious to him with that. Pain, Valery could endure. He had endured pain before in the Arena, and his pride wasn't about to let him get done in by a girl. Keep up the good fight, Drake, Abe. I do not think I'm leaving this spot until things are over. Val planted his feet, best he could, into the ground, the snow about a foot and a half thick immediately around him. Diamond dust rolled outwards away from him, perhaps threatening to buffet Cassandra for a moment or two, and with an attempt at a roar (one that came out as an incoherent grunt) the snow began thickening and hardening.
Sleet started pinging against the windows of the Arena. Val raised his arms, moving with the sluggish speed of someone who has undergone an intense workout, and felt the burn (metaphorically speaking) of using his powers at such a scale so quickly. He'd rather let his effects bring on heavy winter over the course of a few hours with minimal exertion-but a few minutes in the Arena wouldn't allow for that. Valery's hands, fingers stiff and numb, curled into fists as he braced himself back against the wall of the Arena and stared Cassandra down. Val's hair, were it not frozen solid, would've been askew from the intense wind shears around him, which mellowed out into a chill breeze further towards the halfway line.
But the black ice was seeping across to the far side, fusing with the snow as it inched forward every few seconds, and the cold was spreading with it.
Arianna Madrigal
Arianna tried to scowl at Jake, but several factors-the fact that he was cute and the insane amount of fun she was having, for starters-kept it from even resembling a serious one. "No, that was pretty good. You got me." Arianna gladly accepted his hand up, brushing some of the snow off her pants and tightening her hat back on. "And please? Leave us? They'd be too bored to leave us. But seriously, that was nice what you did with your illusions. You don't strike me as the type to really mess around in the Arena, but I could see you making Titus chase himself in circles in there." The mental image made Arianna grin, tacky as it was to laugh at your own jokes.
And for the second time that afternoon, something totally on impulse-as if her lips were working without her brain's consent-slipped out. "Or Abe." She didn't know entirely why she'd said it, but it had slipped out.
Also, uh, she was still holding Jake's hand. She let go quickly, not wanting to be awkward-was that awkward? Did he notice? Maybe he didn't notice. Did she want him to notice? "...although, uh, I think they are getting away from us, slowpoke." Arianna, waiting for Jake to go along with her, took off at a brisk pace for the others, eagerly awaiting the ruins. They'd certainly been built up by everybody. Arianna had only seen a couple of horror movies, the generic slashers where the killer gets everybody one by one...including the couple off on their own in the woods. Still, in a sleepover, full of best friends and junk food and with plenty of lights on if they got really freaked out? It wasn't that bad. The Ruins, for better or for worse, would be really scary. "You scared yet?" Arianna asked. "I promise not to trip you if the ghost comes chasing after us."

"No, that's actually pretty cool Anthony". Trace said, chuckling slightly at Anthony's enthusiasm. He then noticed that Anthony was lying on the ground like a dead body "Oh shi- is he okay!?" Trace said before heading over to the unconscious student, "Well, he's not dead. I hope this people passing out thing doesn't become a recurring issue." Trace thought, before looking towards Neal and Claire and saying "We should probably get him to the nurse's office and make sure he's not messed up or anything." And to think Trace thought the day was going fairly normal only a few minutes ago.

Bre and Len -
Bre got to the ruins just as Gabe did, smiling. "Good job, Jaska! That is your name, right?" She looked at the ruins ahead of her.
Everything from the red bricks that had been chipped from time to the boarded up windows gave the building a feeling of eerie melancholy. Bre loved it. Te feeling the building had radiating from it made things exciting- adventurous, one might say. It seemed like the perfect setting for a Slenderman game. Bre held her hands up to her face and breathed into them, a small attempt to stay warm in the cold winter air the Academy had. Her cheeks were a rosy pink color from being out in such weather. She then looked off at the area where the group had just been, impatiently tapping her foot the way they do on TV shows. They had been told not to go in until everyone had arrived. She could see Len in the distance just... Walking.
It was just like Len- walking in a race; choosing not to wast any energy on such activities.
"C'mon, slow poke!" Bre called, her hands now cupped around her face a she directed her statement at Len.
Len only continued walking as he heard Bre's voice. He did quicken his pace a bit, however. His view on the situation was simple: going to the "ruins" or whatever was completely useless. There wasn't anything necessarily scary, in his opinion, about an old building. The only reasonable was coming was because Bre was. Bre was a friend so he had no choice but to come. And she might get scared. She would need someone to help her through any scary things. (That last part is more or less a fantasy of Len's). He finally made it to the ruins with the rest of the group, not feeling any sort of eerie or all-knowing feeling radiating from the building's old and wrecked form. He took his place beside Bre and she smiled at him as she fixed her sunglasses.
"It's about time you got here."
- Mina -
Mina ran into her room, her breathing heavy from the running she had done. She walked over to her side of the room- its walls was covered with retro record albums of different bands (some With Korean names, others Anerican) and her desk covered with CDs, the only sign of the furniture being that of a student's being the barely read textbook that was lying in a drawer that had been left ajar.
Mina kicked off her shoes, sending them flying under her bed as she flopped down on her bed, face-first. The recent events were a bit overwhelming. The Jasmine girl had attacked her, sure, but she also got SHOT. Was she okay? Mina was unsure. All she had seen was blood. She screamed a bit into her pillow.
"Ugh! It's so annoying!"
She needed a rest. Yeah, a simple little rest. Mina rolled onto her back and looked at the ceiling of her dorm room. She just needed to go to sleep. Then she would be in spirit form. Not noticed by anyone. Relaxing wherever and saying whatever she wanted. That would be nice. Mina closed her eyes. When she opened them, she was in spirit form. Time to explore.
- Niza -
Niza had left Ene. She needed a break from being nice- she just wanted to be the Niza everyone knew an hated. She smirked at the thought. It was not necessarily true, of course. Several people actually found her likeable. They didn't know what she was really like, though. The only person who actually knew was her brother, and he only went along with it because he wasn't the best person, either.
Niza tugged at her red jacket as she walked through the crisp white snow, her boot crunching against the cold heterogeneous mixture of snow and rocks. She looked for someone to talk to- just to temporarily deal with; maybe get some spare cash. She saw some twins that were standing in the snow, wearing some basketball pants and jackets walking towards the arena. If it weren't for their different colors in clothing, one couldn't tell the two apart. Niza walked past them; too young. She stretched a bit and smirked. She'll find someone to speak with eventually.
- Kynan and Jaylin -
The twins walked into the viewing area for those who wanted to watch combatants fight in the arena.
Looks like we got too hung up on our basketball, Jay. They already started.
Oh well. Oh, hey! Look at that guy down there! He's making snow!
And then there's spidergirl. No pun intended.
Yeah. Their powers are awesome! Oh man, this fight is epic even though I've only seen like three seconds!
Look at the other people watching. They are pretty cool too.
The duo watched as each person- from the kid that made a weapon with something-or-other to the guy who life's the vending machine- showed off their powers. Jaylin couldn't help but let out an impressed whistle.
"Those powers are sick, man," he grinned, walking up to the group of gathering kids as if he knew them, though he hasn't the slightest clue who any of them were. Kynan quickly followed.
Jaylin, you shouldn't rush into conversations so eagerly.
Oh well. No harm done, yet.
I stress the word yet.
Sometimes you're right, sometimes you're wrong. The most we can do is choose what to do.
Kynan glanced at Jaylin and sighe. No stopping him here. He walked up beside Jaylin and smiled a smile that matched his twin brother's. "hey," he grinned. "Sorry for intruding- we just saw your powers and wanted to join in on the conversation. They're awesome, by the way." Kynan paused for a moment. "I'm Kynan and this is my brother, Jaylin."
Jaylin grinned as well as he said, "what's u-" he stopped speaking and his grin turns to an expression of shock as the vending machine guy passed out. "Yeah. Where's the school nurse? Lets get him there."
Kynan wasn't sure what to say. It was just like his brother, jumping in to a conversation an trying to help. It was a good attribute but it had its downsides.

Drake Deltori Blackmore.
Perfect. The bomb didn't work as planned, but now Drake has fulfilled his objective: He split them up, and now they're taking people on one-on-one like he thought would happen. Time to take on his one and only prize: Vespera. Drake charged her, fists forward, his body straight as a knife. "Heh! Thought I said we're gonna have oursel-" My balls! He thought to himself as he was kicked in the d*ck. He hated genital related injuries. Especially to him! "That was a d*ck move!" He shouted as he continued. He was so distracted by his genital pains that he didn't pay attention. Vespera had made a shield and shot an orb of shadows at him. He stopped his charge, and took a vertical, hovering, position while flying. The orb had hit him square in the chest. He was launched backwards, taking the full force of the orb. Heh, should have dodged that but let me return the favor! He did a flip in the air, his feet touching the ground, the moment he did so, he fired off a jet-stream of plasma and glided along the ground towards Vespera. He moved in a serpentine motion, to dodge any attacks by Vespera.
He leaped up into the air, and pointed both hands at Vespera, fingers bent like a claw. He fired off a volley of tiny-plasma orbs, hundreds of them. Spread out like a shotgun. They would disperse after a few moments. Before (he thought) Vespera could react, he fired another burst of plasma to propel himself backwards, to give him room to dodge any counter-attacks. That burst could also have burned Vespera.
Adam Leo Blackmore.
"Put that down this instant. Any broken property will result in community service." Adam had snarled at Anthony the moment that he had made his approach - Only to disregard him once Anthony had passed out. He had adjusted his spectacles and crossed his hands behind his back. He really should be looking for Amimoore, but she'll show herself eventually. Adam had stood in front of the glass, instead of finding a seat. Like he usually does. He watched the battle, his vision gave him insight on everyone's powers, one that they thought nobody would notice. You are strong, but arrogant. Take this seriously, or you will find yourself defeated. He thought to himself - Well, more of Drake. Though, he noticed everyone here... They were other spectators of the fight. He decided to make his presence known, "Hello, I am Adam Blackmore." He had half-expected someone to know who he is. He took in a deep breath of air, and found something foul about the environment. He smelled cigarettes. He hated cigarettes. He looked around to see who was smoking, one of the girls. The one clad in leather, and the one arguing with Neal. Adam raised his hand up, and a cold rushing wind blew through the room, extinguishing Claire's cigarette. He nodded his head and said, "No smoking is allowed indoors."
Jake Vin Valos.

"Heh, I am the master illusionist." Jake empathizes the in that sentence. He did take Arianna's compliments about his power very well. It was a small ego-boost, but he was going to keep it to himself - Because nothing repels girls more than a egotistical snob. "And we are definitely the life of the party, hahaha... Who knows what the trip would be like without the two of us?" You lite my eyes up. He helped Arianna up, but didn't let go of her hand, nor did she let go. That meant one thing; she wanted to hold his hand. Such a romantic feeling, holding the hand of the girl he had a crush on - Though, he wasn't sure if she returned the feelings. As they walked through the snow, Jake didn't take his attention off her for a moment - In fact, he didn't care about anyone else right now, he just wanted her and him alone. The world around him burnt to ashes, a glorious flame spawned from no where and burnt life as he knew it to the ground. Until there was nothing left of even reality - The only thing left other than him was Arianna. He closed his eyes, and everything was all better. So maybe his broken mind was trying to send him a message.
Shade wrote:

Jake let out a hearty chuckle, like he was causally dismissing claims of fear - Though there was fear in Jake. Fear of himself. Of his own mind, and his 'gift'. No matter what you trick yourself into thinking, do not let go of her. He knew that he would have to handle his mental issue.
It just doesn't have to be now.
"Me? Scared. No. Not as long as I got you here, my knight in shining armor." He spoke in a charming tone, like he usually does. Trying to be calm. Trying to hide that lingering feeling that this is all too good to be true and Arianna's just another illusion of his own doing.
The ruins came in sight, and so did the group that got there before they did.
((I'll post as everyone else once Maxx or Night posts, since I can't do anything but have them go in.))

Anthony Bellichini
A dull throbbing pain in his head brought him out of his slumber "Aw f*ck not again" he mumbled as he opened his eyes. He was greeted with the sight of everyone standing over him looking a quite worried. He raised his right hand up to show that he was alright and he grabbed the vending machine and used it to hoist himself up."Sorry 'bout that everyone i'm ok just a side effect of the ol' powers" he grinned and then tried to make light of the situation "Hey if this keeps happening I'm gonna need to get a helmet.Who said sleeping was never dangerous am I right?" Then he looked at Blackmore "so what you want a medal or something?" he replied sarcastically.
Jackson Hatch
In his bed he could be seen writhing an occasional look of horror crossed his unconscious face apparently having some sort of night terror. He's in the lounge reading one of his favorite books Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde.Suddenly a hand rips the book out of his grasp and throws it to the other side of the room.He is greeted by his fellow classmates 'what are you doing here FREAK! we do't allow your kind here!" Jackson looked down at his hands and realized with horror that he had shifted back' PPPlease don't hurt me I'm one of you remember!" suddenly more students cluster around Jackson "ONE OF US" they all seemed to say in unison "A FREAK LIKE YOU IS UNFIT EVEN IN THIS PLACE!" the students let out a horrific chuckle Jackson tried to run away by they grabbed him by the legs they grew horrific becoming seemingly giant and scary they beat him with their fists all while screaming "FREAK FREAK FREAK!"

Seth
As he expected everybody took off towards the ruins. He watched them with a look that looked half amused, half envious. On one hand he knew that rushing off would accomplish nothing, since nobody was going in until the others arrived. On the other he couldn't connect with how they got pleasure out of something so trivial. Almost everything in his world was hard facts without end. Things weren't always like this. There was a time many years ago that he enjoyed the little things in life. Then his power emerged and all that changed. He began to understand things, and he hungered to know more. Slowly, but surely he lost touch with his former self. Before he was unaware, and perfectly content with that. However, now that he'd gotten used to his new self he wouldn't trade it for anything. So he forced the thoughts from his mind, and followed behind the others. Still, he knew that it wouldn't be the last time he would wonder what it was like to be normal again, or even like most of the other students. Ignorance is bliss, Seth would never admit that deep down he felt the old saying had a strand of truth to it.
Soon enough he joined up with the others in front of their destination.
