Endurance: The Next Chapter
Light looked down on their little world. It had gone on for such a long time, but now it was stopped. She contemplated this for a moment, and then turned to Fate.
"Why did we let our world stop?"
Fate looked up, seemingly surprised. "She left us," she replied sullenly, "what could we do?"
Light furrowed her brow. That couldn't be right.
"But why should that mean the story ends?" Light asked, turning back to their world. Slowly, the image began to shift. Fate looked on with growing excitement as Light began to speak, and together, they made their world come to life once more.

One year ago the war ended. One year ago the Kyrenien Empire fell. One year ago, the Overarch was slain. The enslavement of the galaxy is over, but it is far from peaceful. With the Kyreniens deep in civil war with each other over control of key planets and the remnants of the fallen empire, Kydi Adaia and Thray Thanasima leave the now-peaceful Kerettoi in an attempt to spread the news about the fall of the Invaders; a race they once called family. Of course, the galaxy is in no mood to just accept the message. A deep hatred of all Kyreniens has taken hold of the galaxy, and with the prospect of another race rising to power, the universe has become a much scarier place for the Kyrenien race. Unbeknownst to them, they face extinction. While wandering about in space, Thray's ship, The Silent Dirge, receives a distress call from a badly damaged Kyrenien cargo ship that was primarily used for transporting prisoners. There are several life-signs aboard, as well as one outside the ship...

Welcome to Endurance: The Next Chapter.
This is a roleplay based in the same universe as Life After Loss, albeit quite a bit after the original adventures of Safyr3, Opajik, and Kalia. I am not requiring that you read LAL to join; in fact, you won't need to know a thing about LAL to understand this. I have turned over a new leaf; turned the page once more. This is indeed, a new chapter.
Basic Information: This is my first ever RP (that I have invented myself anyway), and I have a very specific way of doing things. This RP will be focused around character development and advancement of the story. Yes, story. I have an overarching plotline, but this doesn't mean I'm going to make you stick to it. It is very flexible, and has lots of room for side-stories too. However, I reserve the right to kill any character that has us IC locked, or otherwise stalling the storyline for any extended period of time.
Conduct Rules: 1. No mary-sueing, godmodding, metagaming, powerplaying, auto-hitting, whatever. If you even have to ask if it is okay, it is probably not okay. 2. What I says goes. Don't argue. It will make me cry. 3. Don't stall the IC. I'm not patient and nobody wants to wait around for you. I intend for this to be a fast moving RP, so you need to post ASAP. 4. No bad language or sexual activities. Just no. 5. Blood and violence is okay, as long as you don't go into excruciatingly good detail. I write pretty violent things sometimes, but I don't go into great depths to describe gore. 6. Don't eat the IC with your character. While I'm sure whatever you post will be fascinating, there are other characters too. 7. Rule 3 being said, don't post more than five paragraphs (excluding your first post). Long, boring, drawn out posts don't get read. They get skimmed. With that in mind, I would like at least five sentences per post at a minimum, unless it is a dialog scene. 8. You can have as many characters as you think you can control at once. Again, keep in mind to not eat the IC. 9. No space captains. Not only do they not make ANY sense in this RP, but they tend to ruin everything in my experience. Just no, okay? If you have a question PM me. 10. No flame wars on the OOC. If you want to debate things, you can start it on the OOC and I will determine who is right and who is wrong. 11. Be creative! You're allowed to make your own race! Be original! 12. Magic is allowed, just not in a huge quantity. There are little things in this RP that are explained by magic, because this is how the LALiverse works. It is unlike most magic- there are no 'magic charms' and 'spells.' It is an inherent magic that is out of the control of even the character that possesses it. Character Rules: 1. Your character is going to start out in one of two places: a broken prison ship, or a prison on the planet. This means you're not going to have much equipment, so don't put a huge amount of effort into that. If you would like your character to make their own appearance, PM me your idea and I'll see if I can incorporate it into the story. If not, you might just have to deal with it. 2. No huge characters. Nothing bigger than 8x8. 3. I am all for cool alien abilities. Just don't make them overpowered. 4. I am not allowing any more Kyrenien/Invader characters. 5. I may be convinced to allow you a Jakulo character, should you so desire one. 6. Nothing too human please. This takes place in a universe far far separate from our own.

Angel is Co-GM. Her word is law, as if it were me. YES, I DO ALLOW A SMALL AMOUNT OF MAGIC, BECAUSE MAGIC. However, don't think you can use it as your loophole for everything. Magic in the LALiverse is very, very passive. It allows for bending of the laws of physics, because I think physics are overrated and sometimes cool things are better than realistic things. My entertainment is my entertainment. THIS IS NOT A SCI-FI RP. IF YOU THINK IT IS, YOU ARE WRONG. IT IS A GENRE OF IT'S OWN. I CALL IT...SCI-FANTASY. This is not entirely a serious RP. Thray Thanasima:
Name: Thray Thanasima / The Hunter
Race: Kyrenien
Gender: Male
Age: 36 human years, but this is the equivalent to age 19 for Kyreniens.
Personality: Thray is a calm, silent person, preferring to observe rather than speak. He is quite complicated, having come from a life of secrecy. Violence does not faze him. He is not easily confused nor intimidated, and persistence could be his middle name. When set on a specific task, his tenacity and determination reward him with success, as he refuses to give up on anything he knows he can win. Thray however, is not as cruel as some would think. He is surprisingly observant of the emotional state of others, and does not go out of his way to offend anyone. He does not delight in the torture of his targets, as he believes that being efficient is often better than being terrifying.
Skills: Thray is very skilled in the use of most weaponry, especially swords. If he can get his hands on it, he knows how to use it near-expertly, due to formerly being an assassin for the Kyrenian Empire. He is also an accomplished hacker, mechanic, and pilot.
Abilities: Speed. Thray is easily capable of outrunning a bullet, and chopping them out of the air. He has fast reaction and perception time, making him nearly impossible to hit. He is naturally more durable, to support the stresses of running this fast.
Personality: Kydi is a very curious person. If something comes along that no one can explain, he will do his best to find an explanation for how it works. He is a scientist at heart, and is constantly looking for new things to read, so that he may learn. He is also very kind, seeing the best in all people at all times, even if they don't see it themselves. He has a habit of talking simply to fill the silence, even if no one knows or understands what he is talking about. He is also very loyal, and very determined to see his friends safe from harm.
Abilities: Kydi is a pretty normal Kyrenien. He lacks the special abilities that are found in Thray, like 99.99% of his species.
Skills: Kydi can fix almost anything. He was the head engineer at the top of his field many years ago, before he quit the Kyrenien way of life and joined with a rebellion. He is a fair negotiator, as people find his good nature charming. He is also very inventive; given a few spare parts he can assemble something useful. One time, he invented a personal teleporter out of extra parts he found in Safyr3's home, using a modified Kyrenien wristwatch and a couple screwdrivers. [/i]
Personality: Wratchet is a snarky girl with a cheeky attitude. She enjoys practical jokes, teasing people, and laughing at herself. She is a tough girl, not afraid to get her hands dirty or of getting hurt. While she can appear somewhat mean and irresponsible, she does own up to all her duties, and has a great deal of respect for her father, Vetrys. Vetrys is one of the few people she has respect for, as she likes her machines more than people. She is also very fond of explosives and all things that make loud banging noises.
Abilities: Like most other Jakulo, Wratchet possesses a venemous bite that can be lethal in a large dose. She has a speedy reaction time, excellent night vision, and can see in infrared. She has a knack for climbing things quickly, has incredible balance, and can work quickly. Also like most Jakulo, Wratchet is ambidextrous, very intelligent
Skills: Wratchet is very inventive; she was taught how to work and repair almost all of the machinery that the Jakulo use by her mother, and fell in love with attending these devices. She developed explosives for the Jakulo, and designed much of their working equipment. Because of this, she has near freedom to walk across the entirety of the Jakulo complex, as she has to fix anything should it break. Because of this, she has an excellent sense of direction, even in the dark tunnels that few ever use.[/i]
The Magistrate, Praecus:
Name: The Magistrate, Praecus
Gender: Male
Age: 40
Race: Jakulo
Appearance: Praecus is 6' 2'', tall for his kind, with a reddened neck frill. His pattern resembles that of a rattlesnake, and he has deep golden-yellow eyes that are tinted green. He wears what he calls an 'official-looking hat' with his military vest, gloves for each hand, and thick spats.
Personality: Praecus hates Kyreniens and anyone affiliated with them. He was there during the last Kyrenien attack, where he witnessed his planet fall apart around him when the bombs started falling. While harboring this hatred, he is not unreasonable. There is much respect for him in the ranks, and most Jakulo believe him to be a good leader. He is not overly cruel, but he is strict, and he will not tolerate chaos among the ranks.
Abilities: –see Wratchet's sheet--
Skills: Praecus is an excellent leader, fighter, and commander. He earned his title and his place of command simply because he was the best the Jakulo had to offer.

Somnus:
Name: Somnus Gender: male Age: 68 Race: Guardian Chalik Appearance: Somnus is, as perfectly stated by another member of LAL, a giant flying housecat. He is, indeed, very large, standing about 8 feet at the head, and with the build of a tiger. He is pure black, with very thick fur. On his back are a pair of huge feathered wings, just as black as the rest of him. The only thing that stands out are his gleaming white claws and teeth, and pale green eyes that can stare a hole in the strongest will. Personality: Somnus is generally quiet, but that doesn't make him shy. He is best described as noble. Brave and honorable, thought he can also be impulsive. He rarely opens up to people, but with someone like his sister, he turns into a complete prankster. Abilities: Guardian Chaliks naturally have two abilities that are highly unusual in their universe. The first, and generally more well known, is their ability to fly through space unaided. The second is their druidic powers. Mostly centering around the ability to grow plants, they can also communicate with animals, though not always effectively. Both of these abilities are considered magic, which is what makes them so unusual in a universe with very little magic. Skills: Somnus spent a great deal of his childhood exercising, especially teaching himself to fly fast, long, and with incredible dexterity. In an enclosed space, he can get by with brute strength, but out in the open, where he can spread his wings, he becomes a true force to be reckoned with. Other: Somnus is brother to Kalia, who is guardian of Kerratoi, and helped bring about the fall of the Kyreniens. While his race is generally called to settle on a planet and become its guardian, hence the name, Somnus chose a life of adventure instead. Of course, he soon realized that he still needed to protect something, but he found a good solution to that. He now explores the galaxy, looking for remnants of the Kyrenien empire, and helping people out as he goes.

Sennak:
Name: Sennak (or Senn) Gender: Male Age: 200 Race: Errian
Appearance: like most Errians, Senn is a tall six footer. He has black, leathery skin and atop his head are two large bat-like ears. His eyes are a piercing blood red, giving him an eerie appearance. He is very thin and has a short snout that stops about a two or three inches from his face. He has an arrangement of white almost metallic fangs in his mouth and a fleshy, long, pink tongue. He has long black claws on his hands and feet that are mostly used for climbing, but they can prove deadly in a fight.
Personality: Senn is usually very quiet and sometimes seems emotionless. It's hard to read him. He has an eerie quietness to him that only makes people want to dig deeper and know more about him. Though they usually fail in the process. He is sometimes defensive of his secrets and his personality and will act harshly to those who try to pry in at them. He usually does not like other creatures and will not likely be nice to many of them unless he has to.
Abilities: Senn' like most Errians, can climb most surfaces, even if there is little foot holders or friction. Senn also has poisonous venom in his fangs. He can emit a loud noise that acts as a call to other Errians in the area and only Errians will recognize what it means.
Skills: Senn is extremely, extremely intelligent. Though he never likes to show it because others will see him as a valuable ally, which he wants nothing of. Senn also is very cunning and extremely charismatic and persuasive when he wants to be. He is extremely clever and a very good problem solver, as most Errians are.
Strange, like most Ayataans, is a blob with an exoskeleton. The black parts that you cans see are the parts not covered by an exoskeleton (If he was entirely covered in an exoskeleton, he would be unable to move). Said parts are "weak spots," which are more susceptible to damage.
The uncovered parts on his head are eye spots, not covered by the exoskeleton so that he can see. Because the eyes are important, he has to plates underneath his skull that form two bony eyelids. Once they're closed, of course, his eyes are more protected.
It should be noted that Strange's appearance isn't the norm for Ayataans. They all have different exoskeletons, making them have shapes of almost every thing with legs that you can imagine.
Personality: Strange isn't like normal Ayataans. Instead of having the normal "Kill kill kill" attitude, he is completely fascinated by the universe.
His fascination with the universe isn't Unique, as many Ayataans are also very interested in learning how the universe works. However, Strange specializes more in the science department, hence the name "Strange," given to him by his guardians.
Strange is a little socially awkward, which results in him simply not talking much. He may seem professional on the outside, but he is a little naive. Strange rarely reveals personal information to people, as to "preserve Ayataan secrets" (strangely enough, Strange wasn't told much about said "Ayataan secrets").
Abilities: The Ayataans aren't very powerful in the magic department (Strange himself decided that 'magic' doesn't exist). However, they are usually fantastic warriors. Ayataans are also very flexible and agile, because of their body underneath the exoskeleton. Many can run very quickly; up to 25 miles per hour.
The exoskeleton is very strong, being an inch thick in some places. The exoskeleton is about as strong as steel in some places, like the head, chest, and legs, but other places, like the arms and the "ribs" on the "stomach," is about as strong as plastic (Very thick plastic, that is). Once you destroy enough of the exoskeleton, the blob inside can't keep it's shape and just melts.
Once the Exoskeleton grows over the blob that is a juvenile Ayataan, they stay in it for their entire lives. However, once the exoskeleton is destroyed, it is once again a formless blob. However, it might not be smart to do this. The Ayataan may be 100% more vulnerable, it is also much more dangerous. It can move much more quickly without its exoskeleton, and it secretes a sort of acid-like liquid, used in nature to rebuild the exoskeleton, but has corrosive properties on biological matter. Putting your hand on an Ayataan in blob form for 10 seconds can remove a layer of skin. Of course, it gets worse the longer you touch it.
Skills: Strange is excellent at problem solving. Years of problem solving, and simply learning things, have made him extremely intelligent, to the point where he can guess what is going to happen (with enough information) within the next second. He is also a faster runner than most Ayataans, able to run 27 miles per hour. Strange's fighting skills aren't good, but they're not bad, either. He's below average, but it's just enough for him to get by in a fight. In a fair fight, that is.

Coin:
Name: Coin Gender: Male Age: 13 Race: Sigael Appearance: Coin is easily one of the largest insects of the galaxy, along with his Sigael companions, which are mostly extinct. His thick, stocky body is white, with three white circles on each side of his abdomen. Coin's thorax is filled with many functioning devices, most of which protrude in long, chromatic cords. The bases of them are concealed with white fur. There's a control panel on his back which can be used to change certain functions of his body. His exoskeleton is covered in somewhat of a thin skin,which gives parts of his build a lime green tint. He has wings that resemble a butterfly's, though they are nowhere near the same size. His mouth has two jaws, and sharp fangs, though they aren't very threatening to most. His body is close to the ground, and 4 legs carry it, along with the green circular patterns on his joints. Two primitive appendages are used as arms with some sort of crab-like claws, though they're thin and have two ivory points protruding from them. Coin is 5 feet tall. Personality: Coin is a very happy Sigael, and is just fine entertaining himself. He thinks he doesn't need friends as long as he has himself. Though he's been lonely, he tends to deal with it. He's not easily scared, and is quite complacent with his surroundings. Coin tries his absolute best to stay positive. Abilities: Coin is able to spray venom from his mouth that burns skin on contact. Three stingers are located on the back of his abdomen. He's able to fly very short distances, about 50 yards before becoming exhausted. Skills: Sigaels were known for their strength, though Coin usually neglects this skill due to fear that he may hurt somebody. Due to being alive much longer than most of his kind, he's learned from many of his mistakes, and is considered, "smarter than your average Sigael." Other: turtle water bear (wait what?)

Nyx Raven:
Name: Nyx Raven Gender: Female Age: 17 Race: Aviannis, a species based of various kinds of birds. Their planet is heavily mountainous, so they evolved with wings. There are many varieties and appearances, since the race has populated the whole planet, and thus had to deal with many different climates.
Appearance: She's short; about 5'4". The region of her planet that she's from is mostly inhabited by raven-based creatures, so she is too. There's a picture:

Personality: Basically, a teenager. Not just any teenager; the super-annoying kind, that whines and complains about everything, and doesn't care what anyone thinks about them. She is also a thief; she doesn't work for anyone, she just likes stealing things. Gold, gems, and shiny things, although she makes an exception for things that she finds really interesting.
Abilities: They can fly, since they're a bird race, and therefore have skeletons light enough for their wings to carry. They also have no equivalent to modern medicine, so they use herbs and plants to heal themselves.
Skills: She tries not to fight, preferring instead to be really loud, so that everyone around her is used to her being noisy, and therefore doesn't notice when she gets sneaky. She makes an effort to avoid actual fighting, although she won't shy away from it if she gets caught in it. Under normal circumstances, she would keep a dagger strapped to her thigh, and a few poison vials to throw at people/pour on them/coat her dagger in and stab them with.

Pomona:
Name: Pomona Gender: Female Age: Three hundred and eight, this is rather young for a Notian. Race: Notian. This is a large race of peaceful, often elderly, creatures. Notian cannot die from old age, only by attacks from other species or a lack of food, water, sunlight, and thus most of the species is very old. This adds to their peaceful domineer and their wise one, old people tend to be smarter, or at least more experienced, and calmer. There are a few exceptions to this however. There are no two Notians that look alike, their features are all dependent on the wildlife they are raised near. As a Notian grows, more and more flora begins to grow on their skin, the care for these plants becomes a large part of a Notian life. The plants growing on them also dictates parts of their personalities. Most Notians are vegetarians, or get their food from the sun, but others might acquire a taste for meat if the plants growing on them prefer it. Their technology can be described as 'undeveloped' as they still live as a mostly nomadic people. They treat their planet kindly, and do not wish to go and make trouble in space. However, they are open to friendly and free trade.
Appearance: If all of the plant matter was to fall off of Pomona, you might end up mistaking her for a human. Underneath all of the planty stuff and dirt, Pomona, like all Notians, has a humanoid shape. She stands upright on two legs at about five feet tall and has a lanky looking build, however she lacks human like feet, instead two geode like stones are at the end of her feet. Up her legs small shards of rock stick to her skin, but this gets lighter the higher in your body you go. Her skin is on the boarder of light and dark and is covered with strange shapes, squiggles and characters. Most of these are hidden by plants however. Notian women lack breasts and I'd rather not go into the reproductive organs too much. Pomona's face is most likely the least human part of her. It appears to be rather deer-like, with wide and black eyes that are full of a youthful shine. Pomona's eyebrows and eyelashes are thick and dark as the rest of her. Her mouth is wide as well and contains two kinds of teeth, very sharp ones and smooth ones for eating both plant and animal matter. Her nose is rather large as well and is pitch black like her eyes.
All of this is covered by a thick layer of plants. Naturally plants grow all over Notians, replacing clothing, as growth related nutrients run through the veins of Notians. Vines, mosses, grass you name it it's growing on someone somewhere. Most Notians, when finding a seed, would simply burry it into the rest of the plants and care for it until it sprouted. These plants will eventually die, and it doesn't hurt to pluck something off a Notian, but they prefer a bit of a warning. This is true for Pomona as she has her own collection of flowers and mosses coving her entire body. She has, in almost a fit of rebellious teenage emotion, styled the flowers in her hair into a crown. Just to look cool.
Personality: Pomona has personality traits that both fit, and go against, the norms for Notian society. Pomona can be kind, gentle and sweet to the people she cares for the the nature she surrounds herself in. And when on her own, or when she thinks she is alone, Pomona shows off her graceful and joyful side, prancing around in fields of flowers or running along side animals. However, the second you threaten her or something or someone she loves, you are on the sh*t lost forever. Pomona can be cruel, cold and dangerous, especially if you stick her in a cold environment with little sun. It's rare for Pomona to feel threatened, unless if there is fire involved.
Abilities: Pomona is a very strong 'magician', if magic really exists in this world, but other Notians often call any sort of magical abilities 'gifts'. She is a rather talented herbal brewer and knows how to help out with even the most obscure injury. Pomona also specializes with spells that would be classified as light. She, like other Notians, also are very good at identifying and remembering the uses and dangers of plants. In a more combat-y sense, Pomona has above average skill in battle, primary with melee weapons, as she is not as much as a pacifist as her elders. She is also very light on her feet and quite a high jumper, being able to get away from fights she knows she can't win.
Skills: Since the women of Notian are required to learn how to read and write, Pomona is a very stilled reader and writer. Her hand writing and vocabulary are one of the best in her country, even though she doesn't make it a goal to speak in such a fine tone. Pomona also isn't the best decision maker, but at the same time doesn't like going along with what others tell her to do. Unless this plan has to do with singing, dancing or playing music. All things Pomona loves and would be able to get behind. Most Notian women are also very skilled at drawing, and Pomona carries drawing supplies on her at all times in case something interesting comes along. Other: Turtle water bear.

Ketryn:
Name: Ketryn 5273 (she’s just called Ketryn, though)
Gender: female
Age: 24 in human years
Race: Yarksonian
Appearance: Yarksonians have a large resemblance to humans. The only noticeable differences are that their skin never really tan unless revealed to an unusually large amount of sunlight and they are usually considered tall compared to average human beings. There are also different genetic colors for their eyes. Other than that, there’s no noticeable difference. Ketryn has an average-looking Yarksonian body at first glance. She is a little bit on the short side for her species at 6’0” and weighs around 342 lbs. (though she appears to be average weight for anyone, and this shall be explained later) Pale skin. She has common strait black hair that extends a little bit past her shoulders and has the most average Yarksonain eye color: orange. However, there are some noticeable, non-Yarksonian features that can be seen on Ketryn. There is a thing, glowing blue line that can be faintly seen that runs from right about where Ketryn’s left ear is attached to the skull to the middle of her forehead. There is also an alike line that runs from the top of her shoulder to the center of her chest. Ketryn’s style of clothing is normal for both humans and Yarksonians. She usually just wears a light blue button down shirt (though it is usually unbuttoned) with a black tank top underneath. Katryn also wears some boot cut jeans with a pair of sandals.
Personality: A part of Ketryn’s emotional system was once damaged to make it where she can’t really react in a proper way to situations. Katryn usually seems emotionless except for in intense times when emotions are strongly felt, it is then that she can properly communicate. Katryn feels all the other feelings a normal human or yarksonian feels, she just fails to communicate them. Whenever she feels happy or sad, her face is just expressionless. Katryn usually sees the logical side of things and anything she finds completely useless she prefers to avoid. However, she is very caring and kind, though it’s hard to tell this since the only expressions that she can be seen with are anger and fear.
Abilities -merged with skills-(and her back-story… more or less): There are reasons behind Katryn’s strange differences compared to the rest of her kind and her thalamus being damaged. The Yarksonians are really a lot like an advanced form of the human civilization. Their technology is far more advanced, and so this is where Katryn’s story comes in. The yarksonians were looking for ways to strengthen themselves, increase their life span, and avoid disease a lot more easily. (Being such an old civilization, there is a large population on the planet and disease easily spreads) Being so bent on technology, they eventually thought of a possible way to do so- place the human mind into an artificial life form. Many failures were made in this project and many lost their lives, but eventually they had a successful transformation- Katryn 5273. Her original name was Katryn, just an everyday female yarksonian, but her new body form was the 5,723 model made. It looked just like a normal Yarksonian- from the eyes to the hands, it even felt like a yarksonian (their skin feels like human skin, btw)- the only differences was the weight of her body since she is mostly metal on the inside along with the glowing blue lines on the forehead and on the chest. You see, these markings were how they opened up the areas for Katryn’s brain and heart. One of the reasons that scientists kept failing the transformation from normal life form to partial robot was that they couldn’t keep the brain from going dead due to the lack of a heart to pump air. Even if the brain were still receiving energy from an outside force, such as a form of highly advanced electric charges, it would still go dead because it wouldn’t read a heart. It is almost like the power of suggestion being played on the mind- the heart is dead, so I must be dead *dies*. So the scientists working on Katryn’s body kept the heart connected, and made it to where highly advanced pulses were being sent to both, telling both the mind and heart the other was alive and to keep going. In the movement from the normal body to the artificial body, however, there was a part of the artificial body that had a glitch and couldn’t perceive many emotions. So that explains her personaility Okay, now that I’ve explained how Katryn came to be, I’ll FINALLY explain her abilities XD Katryn’s artificial, robotic body (which I’m going to go ahead and say is EMP and water proof) has several advancements that a normal Yarksonian body doesn’t (and a yarksonian body is just like a human being’s) the robotic body gives her a stronger immune system, since is makes the only two possible things that can be harmed by bacteria nearly untouchable. Also Katryn doesn’t age. Actually, she has been 24 for two years. Katryn has above average strength, sight, and hearing. She also has a large tolerance for pain, since the only parts of her that feel pain are the mind and the heart. Another advancement in Katryn’s system is that with her eyesight there is also a targeting system connected to her brain that helps her with targeting objects. No, this does not mean she has perfect aim. Her aiming is really above average, however.
Weaknesses: Being mostly metal, Katrryn has a different way of getting energy aside from food, and that’s from electricity! *derp* Ketryn ahas to recieve a certain amount of sunlight to power her systems every 48 hours, or, if not ,she must be plugged in by a socket in her right wrist. Katryn can be killed just like anyone else, as well. The only diffenece is that getting a bullet or knife into her make be harder with her insides being mostly metal. Her skin feels human, er, yarksonian, though XD All that needs to happen is a few snips of the wire and then she is dead.
other: she is not a turtle water bear! Anyways, now Ketryn is probably the only Yarksonian that isn't captured

Feffon Ferrogaster:
Name: Feffon Ferrogaster Gender: Poryphages don’t really have a gender, though I will refer to Adrage as male Age: 50 (Poryphage don’t age past early adulthood) Race: Poryphage Appearance: Feffon is a one of those beings that appear to be so cute until they bite your head off, literally in his case. He is a relatively teardrop-shaped fish (though a good bit fatter than a teardrop), with a large head and an oblong body that tapers down gradually. He is about two and a half feet long, and mysteriously enough weighs practically nothing. He has a tail like a pufferfish and spiked fins on his sides, as well as a frill of sharp spines running down his back that look like a very long mohawk. The defining feature of Feffon is his massive jaws. His mouth is almost larger than his face, and is set with a massive set of razor-sharp silvery-white teeth that make a loud clanging sound when gnashed as if they were made of metal. He has no lips, meaning that his teeth are always visible. Feffon has no nose (but smells through receptors in his long tongue) and very small holes set back far towards the back of his “head” for ears. Feffon’s eyes are large and almost comical-looking. They exaggerate his emotions a ton and cause him to look almost constantly hungry. Feffon’s skin is like that of a Cane Toad’s, being dry and olive green with many wart-like bumps giving him an odd texture. He is counter-shaded, meaning that his color of green gets gradually lighter as you travel from the top of him to the bottom. Feffon seems to be cut in widthways by a fringe of small spines that normally lay flat against his skin. When startled, Feffon turns blood red and inflated to twice his size, causing these spines to stand erect and deadly.
Personality: As far as the intelligence of sentient beings go, Feffon is at the shallow end of the gene pool. He’s one of those more balls than brains characters, a creature that almost constantly gets in fights even when there’s absolutely no chance of winning. Valiant, yes, but often ends with him getting his spiny rear end kicked. He is driven by instinct more than intellect, and his stomach practically controls him. He spends most of his time eating or thinking about food. When Feffon isn’t thinking about food (which is rare) he ponders the meaning of life and reflects on the divine properties of sentient existence. In short, he always thinks about food. Yet again, you would too if you were practically a floating stomach with a small brain. Feffon is illiterate (though Engineer has taught him some VERY basic words like “Stop” and “24-hour Surveillance”), cannot write, and has trouble pronouncing large words. In one sentence, Feffon is a stupid floating stomach sack with a ton of guts.
Abilities: Well Poryphages have several special abilities which have allowed their foolish existence to carry on for this long. Firstly, Poryphage jaws are strong enough to tear through steel with ease. Their teeth are incredibly sharp and nearly unbreakable, and their saliva is laced with hydrochloric acid, allowing them to dissolve their way through tough food. Their highly-acidic saliva combined with quite possibly the most powerful digestive enzymes in the galaxy allow Feffon and other Poryphages to eat practically anything. Their stomachs turn almost any material into nutrients and the acids destroy the majority of poisons, making Feffon immune to them. Poryphages also have special sacks in their bodies that convert oxygen in the air into helium, allowing Feffon to float in the air. Special jets on either side of Feffon’s tail allow him to move, and his fins control his movement. Feffon can, when startled or surprised, puff himself up to twice his size like a pufferfish, causing him to both float much higher and fend off predators with his razor-sharp spikes. All of Feffon’s fins are sharp and can cut through skin. Feffon has an extremely good sense of smell, and can track food from miles away.
Of course, there are weaknesses to Feffon. Firstly, the name “floating stomach” is a little misleading, as Feffon’s stomach is actually not that large. Most of his stomach section is a wild maze of intestines and digestive organs that pump hundreds of acids and enzymes into his exocrine system in order to digest his food. His stomach is basically just used to soften the food and doesn’t have much storage space. Because of this, Feffon needs to eat almost constantly, and can starve if he isn’t given a supply of nutrients (whether digestively or intravenously) in 24 hours. Secondly, Feffon’s helium tanks make him flammable. His race has developed a fear of fire, and he naturally shies away from it (though he has learned the difference between fire and a light). Thirdly, Feffon is quite frankly stupid. He’s dumb as a post and has no desire to learn whatsoever. He is driven to do one thing; eat, and that is something he excels at. Because of this, Feffon can be easily outsmarted. Besides that, Feffon’s just...normal. He can be wounded by all sorts of weapons (bullets, lasers, etc) just the same as you and me. His sense of sight is average, though he does not hear very well.
Skills: Eating. Like, eating everything. Feffon doesn’t exactly have any other skills besides munching on absolutely everything. Steel, granite, flesh -if it’s there, he’ll eat it.

Lt. Samaki Marais:
Name: Lt. Samaki Marais Gender: Male Age: 50 (they age slower than humans) Race: Icthian (specifically the Southern Cocodril subspecies) Appearance: Samaki is a gruff-looking humanoid fish man standing at about six feet tall. He has a muscular, athletic build, though has lost a good bit of his muscle tone due to his imprisonment. Samaki’s skin is primarily green, with white on his belly and chest. His body is covered in scales that seem to lock together like rings in a suit of chainmail armor. Samaki has a tail like you’d expect any fish-man to, as well as a pair of legs. His hands and feet have five digits and are webbed for maximum aquatic performance. Samaki has a short skinny neck and a head like an alligator gar’s, with a long snout lined with pointy teeth. Samaki’s eyes are wide set on his head and are black (like a fish’s eye is). On either side of Samaki’s head is a set of gills, which are how he breathes. At the end of his snout is a set of whisker-like barbells. His body is covered in scars, from a jagged scar cutting across his snout to a large one in the left corner of his chest across his pectoral muscle. Two of his teeth are noticeably cracked, and a brutal-looking scar runs across his nostrils; it looks relatively recent. He looks nicked up in several other places, reminders of a long combat history. His hands end in long sharp fingernails bordering on claws, two of which are broken. Samaki’s clothing currently consists of a torn-up forest green jumpsuit. The suit is covered in several burns and the right sleeve is almost completely absent, consisting only of a few torn pieces of fabric. In addition to this is Samaki’s breathing mechanism, a water tank strapped to his back with tubes that run to a set of earmuff-like objects that cover his gills and a pair of goggles that cover his eyes, preventing them from drying out. The tanks use osmosis technology to pull water out of the air, so Samaki never runs out.
Personality: Samaki is a tough SOB, both physically and mentally. He has not cracked once after years of torture, and is very mentally tough. He is slow to trust others, especially Kyrenians, and can be extremely brash with others. Subtlety is not Samaki’s strong suit. He’s one of those guys that you don’t have to ask to be honest; he would be happy to oblige. He is a soldier by trade and a soldier by heart, not really caring about the fate of his enemies and doing whatever he has to do to accomplish his goal. He almost always feels as if he’s in danger, and gets jittery when he doesn’t have some sort of weapon on hand. He’s not necessarily a bad person, though. Samaki has a moral code of all his own. He doesn’t care how difficult or illogical a situation is; he wants to make things right. He will not stand for acts of violence on civilians, no matter what the ends would be. Like all people, though, Samaki has his limits. He has a short fuse and can often become overwhelmed by his hatred to such a point that his moral code is completely lost. He never gives up, a defining trait of his, and will do whatever is needed to succeed (so long as it coincides with his morality).
Abilities: Samaki is a demon in the water. Most of Samaki’s abilities aren’t advantageous for living on the land, however, and he is relatively handicapped. He can swim at over sixty miles per hour and is extremely maneuverable due to his shape. Samaki’s eyes can allow him to see through clouded water. His barbells allow him to detect electromagnetic frequencies in the air, giving him around a 15 foot radius of 360 degree sense. He can feel the presence of another being near him, and has trained himself to know when things like a knife has been drawn or a bullet is about to be fired. This greatly increases Samaki’s reflexes, and makes him much harder to kill. In addition, Samaki’s skin is tough and hard to penetrate like a suit of armor. It won’t stop a bullet or a combat knife, but many melee attacks and duller cutting weapons can be repelled by his scales. His bones and tendons are stronger than the average human’s, making him a good bit more durable. Samaki can survive a fall of twenty feet if he lands properly. He is stronger than the average Kyrenian, but does not have supernatural strength. Skills: Samaki is well-versed in hand-to-hand combat and has extensive military training, making him a bigger threat. He is trained in sharpshooting and has a lot of experience in guerrilla-style warfare. He Other: Turtlewaterbear. I must also point out that Samaki was a soldier in the war against the Kyrenians. He led a group of guerrilla fighters against them in several battles, and was finally captured after having been trapped under fire coral by an explosion.

Personality: He is a somewhat serious individual he generally looks out for himself and his own survival he would make allies to most that would help him but he generally doesn't trust most if any species,He had a Napoleon complex because of his small and diminutive stature. He sometimes attempts to act like he can do huge difficult things and and getting himself in bad situations by trying to do huge difficult things he can't. Abilities: because of their innate small size they are quite fast and can fit into small places pretty easily.(perks of being small) Large horn on head able to pierce most soft creatures hides. The Kyreniens. They are a very powerful race, but they are also known to be somewhat goofy. While committing unspeakable wrongs against the various races in the known galaxy, not all of them are entirely bad. Much of the evil of the Kyreniens is attributed to the warlike ways that the Overarch, the Kyrenien leader, built his empire.
Even at a young age, Kyreniens are taught to kill or be killed. Those that survive the Academy are placed in whatever field they tested as being the most successful in. Should they fail, or simply lose their minds due to a psychological problem, there's always another Kyrenien hoping to take their place.
Kyreniens attack inhabited planets for the purpose of using them as colonies. Because of the vast amount of Kyreniens in the galaxy, the need for space is always on the mind of the Overarch. Terraforming is expensive and time consuming. Finding a suitable planet is not, especially when you have the entire galaxy at your fingertips.
Kyreniens destroy anything they perceive as a threat. This could be the marauding space pirates from the moon of Rathor, or a sentient species that has achieved space-travel. They will also destroy anything in their way, such as a peaceful civilization that has NOT yet reached space-faring. (in the case of the Syratopes, in the original LAL).
Foot soldiers are seen as expendable units; to be a foot soldier is to die in an unmarked grave, should the combat prove too fierce. To die in combat is a dishonor, as the Kyreniens believe that an inferior race could not be capable of killing them.
Kyreniens steal technology they think could be valuable from other races. Then they destroy said race and claim the tech as their own. They also will enslave any races that prove to be worth the trouble of enslaving. Usually enslavement means that the race had no special ability to evade capture, as with the Syratopes in the original LAL.
Kyreniens, despite the vast amount of tech, prefer to use powerful explosives on races that prove too troublesome to steal the planet from. They take this as a challenge, and this usually results in a dead planet that cannot sustain life.
There is no sexism among Kyreniens. Men and women are seen as equal, albeit women find themselves in the medical field simply because they have more empathy, and are less suited for combat. However, it is not seen as unusual to find a female officer or other high-ranking official.
Kyreniens do NOT use robots, or artificial intelligence. Instead, they will perform procedures on creatures that are not sentient, and convert them to cyborg slaves.

The Jakulo
THE JAKULO:

Snakelike, four-armed aliens with the technological level of the 40s, the Jakulo were a once powerful race that had just reached their equivalent of the space race. Knocked back in development by the Kyrenien Empire, they are an industrious race that live mostly underground, their planet's surface having been compromised.
Vast cave systems run through the Jakulo homeworld, filled with all manner of light-hating creatures that have been mutated and poised by surface radiation and strange chemicals the Kyreniens poured into the water supply to flush out the remaining Jakulo.
The small number of Jakulo left on the planet are ruled by the Magistrate, Praecus. Under Praecus directly is his trusted lieutenant, Levith. They rule with strict rules and fair punishments. Crime rate in the Jakulo society is very low.
The Jakulo deal with high offenses, such as murder, by sending the offender to The Games. In the arena, the criminal must fight a monster that is considered equivalent to the crime they committed. If they survive the encounter and kill the beast, they are pardoned of all guilt and allowed back into Jakulo society. There are not many repeat offenders.
There was a period of time where the Jakulo were enslaved by the Kyreniens. During this time, many aliens were introduced to the Jakulo world. Some of them were friendly, as in other slaves, and many others were hostile prisoners or space pirates simply trying to get off planet. The friendly aliens were eventually killed during the great rebellion against the Kyreniens, which resulted in the dead planet and the retreat underground. The prisoners that remained stay in the Games indefinitely, until they die or escape.
Jakulo see in both infrared, and the normal spectrum. They can switch between these at will, allowing them to see in blinding daylight or dark night. Because of this ability, lighting is often dim in the Jakulo society, as infrared is more reliable underground where animals may be lurking.
Jakulo society is a mining society. They mine for ores, build things, and are ever sustaining the defensive barrier that is the great gate to the surface. They fear that one day the Kyreniens will return to finish off the remains of their race. Because of this, most Jakulo are taught the ins and outs of combat, such as how to fire weapons accurately, and how to fight unarmed. Being four-armed, the Jakulo can wield two blasters at once, with amazing accuracy. They are also surprisingly strong, and like snakes, are mostly muscle. Hand to hand combat with a Jakulo is not recommended. Like an anaconda, they can and will strangle you.
Jakulo are all ambidextrous. They possess the ability to run on all fours if needed, using their lower set of arms as legs. They have sensitive ears for sensing in the dark, and have a very primitive form of echolocation.

Name: Somnus Gender: male Age: 68 Race: Guardian Chalik Appearance: Somnus is, as perfectly stated by another member of LAL, a giant flying housecat. He is, indeed, very large, standing about 8 feet at the head, and with the build of a tiger. He is pure black, with very thick fur. On his back are a pair of huge feathered wings, just as black as the rest of him. The only thing that stands out are his gleaming white claws and teeth, and pale green eyes that can stare a hole in the strongest will. Personality: Somnus is generally quiet, but that doesn't make him shy. He is best described as noble. Brave and honorable, thought he can also be impulsive. He rarely opens up to people, but with someone like his sister, he turns into a complete prankster. Abilities: Guardian Chaliks naturally have two abilities that are highly unusual in their universe. The first, and generally more well known, is their ability to fly through space unaided. The second is their druidic powers. Mostly centering around the ability to grow plants, they can also communicate with animals, though not always effectively. Both of these abilities are considered magic, which is what makes them so unusual in a universe with very little magic. Skills: Somnus spent a great deal of his childhood exercising, especially teaching himself to fly fast, long, and with incredible dexterity. In an enclosed space, he can get by with brute strength, but out in the open, where he can spread his wings, he becomes a true force to be reckoned with. Other: Somnus is brother to Kalia, who is guardian of Kerratoi, and helped bring about the fall of the Kyreniens. While his race is generally called to settle on a planet and become its guardian, hence the name, Somnus chose a life of adventure instead. Of course, he soon realized that he still needed to protect something, but he found a good solution to that. He now explores the galaxy, looking for remnants of the Kyrenien empire, and helping people out as he goes. (pffok turtle water bear)

Of course, none of them have ever been outside their home universe before, and for good reason. Doing things, like leading a rebellion against a horrible and corrupt leader, tends to ensure that you get exiled, until such time as you learn to behave yourself. And accidentally punching _____ (insert important piece of machinery here) out the side of a ship earns you a stay in prison and a free death-sentence.
Appearance: (be descriptive. Include a picture if you can, I love pictures!)[sorry, I don't have any ] (MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE HEIGHT) On the awkward side of tall; about 6'4", give or take a few centimeters. She has short black hair that looks like its been cut with a chainsaw, and eyes such a bright lime green that people often ask her what kind of radioactive chemical mixture they're made out of. Under normal circumstances, she would wear a dark sea-green shirt, a black leather jacket, jeans, and hiking boots.
Personality: (Be very descriptive. VERY) She's prone to mercurial mood swings. Most of the time, she's pretty chill. She'll take everything she runs into in stride, and is generally calm about anything. But if she decides she doesn't like something (or someone) she'll enter 'snark mode', which is where she attempts to insult you as many times as she can in one sentence. She's also in the habit of trying, and failing, to start revolutions. She's afraid of fire, flying under any power other than her own, and strange spells that teleport her to alternate universes.
Abilities: (If your race has any unique inherent abilities) They have varying levels of control over a single element, but they can't control more than the one, and if they try to do more with it than they're capable of, it does unpleasant things, up to and not excluding nosebleeds and severe, skull-splitting headaches. It's just a generally terrible idea. Each is also associated with a single animal, such as a fox or a tiger, and they can select a single member of that species and form a telepathic bond with them. Using this bond, they can merge with the animal, granting them a great deal more power. The majority of their abilities come from the fact that they can drain their universe of its magic, especially since it is constantly regenerating itself. Without that endless source of power, the only powers they hold claim to are a much-lessened control of their element, and severely-dampened telepathic abilities. In fact, they're actually weaker than most other species. Since they were immortal in their home universe, suddenly being made mortal sends most of them for a loop. They aren't used to injuries that don't immediately heal, and panicking about this in the middle of a fight tends to leave them wide open to all manner of attacks.
Skills: (What is your character's knack for? Smooth-talking? Fighting?) If you're a friend, she's happy to talk to you. If you're a neutral party, she'll ignore you. If you're an enemy, she'll beat you up.

Ok first off this isn't a magical RP, so...Don't make characters reliant upon magic. So I'm gonna have to say no, SaraSkyWolf. If you still want to join, I'd recommend making an entirely new character. Try something new. :3

Appearance: like most Errians, Senn is a tall six footer. He has black, leathery skin and atop his head are two large bat-like ears. His eyes are a piercing blood red, giving him an eerie appearance. He is very thin and has a short snout that stops about a two or three inches from his face. He has an arrangement of white almost metallic fangs in his mouth and a fleshy, long, pink tongue. He has long black claws on his hands and feet that are mostly used for climbing, but they can prove deadly in a fight.
Personality: Senn is usually very quiet and sometimes seems emotionless. It's hard to read him. He has an eerie quietness to him that only makes people want to dig deeper and know more about him. Though they usually fail in the process. He is sometimes defensive of his secrets and his personality and will act harshly to those who try to pry in at them. He usually does not like other creatures and will not likely be nice to many of them unless he has to.
Abilities: Senn' like most Errians, can climb most surfaces, even if there is little foot holders or friction. Senn also has poisonous venom in his fangs. He can emit a loud noise that acts as a call to other Errians in the area and only Errians will recognize what it means.
Skills: Senn is extremely, extremely intelligent. Though he never likes to show it because others will see him as a valuable ally, which he wants nothing of. Senn also is very cunning and extremely charismatic and persuasive when he wants to be. He is extremely clever and a very good problem solver, as most Errians are.

Strange, like most Ayataans, is a blob with an exoskeleton. The black parts that you cans see are the parts not covered by an exoskeleton (If he was entirely covered in an exoskeleton, he would be unable to move). Said parts are "weak spots," which are more susceptible to damage.
The uncovered parts on his head are eye spots, not covered by the exoskeleton so that he can see. Because the eyes are important, he has to plates underneath his skull that form two bony eyelids. Once they're closed, of course, his eyes are more protected.
It should be noted that Strange's appearance isn't the norm for Ayataans. They all have different exoskeletons, making them have shapes of almost every thing with legs that you can imagine.
Personality: Strange isn't like normal Ayataans. Instead of having the normal "Kill kill kill" attitude, he is completely fascinated by the universe.
His fascination with the universe isn't Unique, as many Ayataans are also very interested in learning how the universe works. However, Strange specializes more in the science department, hence the name "Strange," given to him by his guardians.
Strange is a little socially awkward, which results in him simply not talking much. He may seem professional on the outside, but he is a little naive. Strange rarely reveals personal information to people, as to "preserve Ayataan secrets" (strangely enough, Strange wasn't told much about said "Ayataan secrets").
Abilities: The Ayataans aren't very powerful in the magic department (Strange himself decided that 'magic' doesn't exist). However, they are usually fantastic warriors. Ayataans are also very flexible and agile, because of their body underneath the exoskeleton. Many can run very quickly; up to 25 miles per hour.
The exoskeleton is very strong, being an inch thick in some places. The exoskeleton is about as strong as steel in some places, like the head, chest, and legs, but other places, like the arms and the "ribs" on the "stomach," is about as strong as plastic (Very thick plastic, that is). Once you destroy enough of the exoskeleton, the blob inside can't keep it's shape and just melts.
Once the Exoskeleton grows over the blob that is a juvenile Ayataan, they stay in it for their entire lives. However, once the exoskeleton is destroyed, it is once again a formless blob. However, it might not be smart to do this. The Ayataan may be 100% more vulnerable, it is also much more dangerous. It can move much more quickly without its exoskeleton, and it secretes a sort of acid-like liquid, used in nature to rebuild the exoskeleton, but has corrosive properties on biological matter. Putting your hand on an Ayataan in blob form for 10 seconds can remove a layer of skin. Of course, it gets worse the longer you touch it.
Skills: Strange is excellent at problem solving. Years of problem solving, and simply learning things, have made him extremely intelligent, to the point where he can guess what is going to happen (with enough information) within the next second. He is also a faster runner than most Ayataans, able to run 27 miles per hour. Strange's fighting skills aren't good, but they're not bad, either. He's below average, but it's just enough for him to get by in a fight. In a fair fight, that is.

Name: Coin Gender: Male Age: 13 Race: Sigael Appearance: Coin is easily one of the largest insects of the galaxy, along with his Sigael companions, which are mostly extinct. His thick, stocky body is white, with three white circles on each side of his abdomen. Coin's thorax is filled with many functioning devices, most of which protrude in long, chromatic cords. The bases of them are concealed with white fur. There's a control panel on his back which can be used to change certain functions of his body. His exoskeleton is covered in somewhat of a thin skin,which gives parts of his build a lime green tint. He has wings that resemble a butterfly's, though they are nowhere near the same size. His mouth has two jaws, and sharp fangs, though they aren't very threatening to most. His body is close to the ground, and 4 legs carry it, along with the green circular patterns on his joints. Two primitive appendages are used as arms with some sort of crab-like claws, though they're thin and have two ivory points protruding from them. Coin is 5 feet tall. Instead of having the usual compound eyes that most bugs have, he has cat eyes. Personality: Coin is a very happy Sigael, and is just fine entertaining himself. He thinks he doesn't need friends as long as he has himself. Though he's been lonely, he tends to deal with it. He's not easily scared, and is quite complacent with his surroundings. Coin tries his absolute best to stay positive. Abilities: Coin is able to spray venom from his mouth that burns skin on contact. Three stingers are located on the back of his abdomen. He's able to fly very short distances, about 50 yards before becoming exhausted. Skills: Sigaels were known for their strength, though Coin usually neglects this skill due to fear that he may hurt somebody. Due to being alive much longer than most of his kind, he's learned from many of his mistakes, and is considered, "smarter than your average Sigael." Other: turtle water bear (wait what?)
