I'm so excited for this next part,

Gamba's pretending to be Ammon right now, if you get what I mean and the tone he's using. He's actually being very honest, he really could mess up Snake pretty bad. He also did not acknowledge the question about Layla, since technically it's between Snake and Gamba, and she doesn't have to deal with it.

Indeed. And now Var's come into play as a "good guy."

Don't be surprised if Snake runs into Ammon later. Of course, Ammon will just mock him, considering that he doesn't like being called 'little', and the fact that he does not want anyone else fighting Gamba but himself.

XD, Snake will have a lot of things to worry about here soon with the stupid decisions he's making.

Yeah. I should mention, although Ammon is probably even scarier than Snake, you'll discover that Gamba will often defend him against others. It's because the two are actually very similar, and hold great respect for one another. Ammon may on occasion do good things, but don't be surprised if he denies them later.

Oh cool!

Actually, he already denied a good deed. He assisted Gamba once in defending a pack of Ethiopian wolves from a group of baboons. Of course, Gamba believes that means they friends, or brothers, because they fought alongside one another, but Ammon just told him he didn't need any help.

I see. Interesting.

Here comes one of the darker techniques Gamba can use to take care of his enemies. He's showing Var a Khat branch, which he and his brothers along with Snake have not likely seen before. He's going to use it later, but I imagine that Snake is going to wind up in a very bad situation if Gamba's plan works, although I assure you the plant is not poisonous...just a really strong stimulant...

Well, now Gamba's telling Layla what to do if she gets taken hostage. He's also told of his plan.

I should mention, though, that there are three scenarios that could happen that I've thought of. Snake could get Layla, and Gamba could save her, or Layla could fight Snake off all by herself, which would be pretty epic, in my opinion. However, if not, and she does get carried off, Ammon himself will come in and save her, just out of his grudging respect for Gamba. Even Ammon wouldn't let Snake do such things to a lioness.

Interesting. Yes, Layla would probably try to fight Snake off first. If she got caught at a bad moment by herself though, she'd probably be overpowered by the sons and taken away. It all depends on the timing.

Also, for future reference, I was wondering if it was possible or likely that baboons could use rocks like flint to make fires like for fire pits in their camp? I thought it was pretty stretched myself, but I was wondering you'd think it was possible even for fantasy enhanced characters.

I personally think fire is solely for a human, Dark. If baboons made fires, there wouldn't be much of a difference between the two. They're already very strong, and there are usually a very large number of them, as well. Besides, Baboons are largely considered more primitive primates, which means they are far less likely to discover fire than a chimpanzee in the story.

I actually was going to have Naus learn how to create fire from living around a human camp when he was younger. But as I said, pretty stretched.

It is a bit stretched, but I don't think there should be fire in the RP, at any point in the story.

Yeah, probably. But it was mostly just for campfires and such.

It still has use as a weapon, and no other creature can really compete with it.

Indeed.

Well, anyway, Ammon is now observing the Pride. If Gamba doesn't save Layla, and she gets caught by Snake and can't escape, he's there for the plot twist.

I see that. Gamba has just told Sira about Ammon, and explained why he did not tell Jali.

Sira as you can see is pretty protective of Layla, and the sons are getting closer to the camp, but they wont attack until morning.

She is. Also, I should mention, Gamba has figured out Sira is carrying cubs. It's a bit significant because Jali and Sira never actually told anyone she was having them. However, Gamba is basically like a Jack of all Trades, except that he's mastered an awful lot of the skills, unlike the old saying. Ammon is basically his rival, and knows a lot of the same knowledge, although he uses it for different purposes. Gamba actually knows more about medicine and poisons than Ammon, and how to use them, but Ammon is better in combat and stealth.

I see. Well, Sira is now taking a break from worrying and relaxing for a bit. Layla and Var are following Gamba down to get more bushes, and Layla will probably go on a mad rush for them.
