Weirdo? When Mina heard Rush's friend call her that, she smirked. "Now, now, that isn't very nice." She paused before adding in, "though it is kind of true." It is quite clear that Mina's attitude is different whenever she is wide awake. "Though all these people are still annoying." Mina was still Mina, however. "I don't like you," she said to the guy, though he couldn't hear her. "You called me sweetheart- even if it was sarcastically I hate being called sweetheart." She looked at Rush and the girl.
"You two are annoying, of course, but at least you're quiet." Mina then looked at Kate. "You even think of doing anything to my body you little hooker and I will hurt you," she growled. Then a word grabbed Mina's attention. Two words, actually. Private conversation. Mina smirked. She did love eavesdropping. She got comfortable in her seat (though since she was nothing more than a spirit Mina really couldn't feel anything) and sat quietly, ready to hear the conversation.
- Jaylin and Kynan -
As Jaska talked, Kynan had merged his hand with Jaylin's shoulder, enabling them to pick up on a few of Jaska's thoughts. It also made the situation Jaska was explaining more vivid, in a way. When Jaska finished speaking, Kynan removed his hand. Both of the boys had shocked expressions on their faces.
"We believe you, Jaska," Kynan slowly began, "I think, though..." He thought..... What did he think? Just what would be a good idea? He didn't want Amimoore getting in trouble, but...
We need to tell someone.
Jaylin's thoughts finished his. Kynan winced.
I know. What can we do, though?
Well, isn't her dad in charge of the school? That means the teachers are less likely to punish, right?
Or more likely. I don't know. What Ami did, based on Jaska's thoughts an what he told us, was blackmail.
How about the Adam guy from training class? We could talk to him.
Let's ask Jask first.
"Think we should tell Mister Blackmoore about it?" Jaylin asked.
Kynan waited a moment before adding in, "We should tell someone about it, after all. This thing can't just go unnoticed."
- Niza -
Niza smirked as she watched everyone in the student lounge, listening to their conversations, examining every person. She was wearing a black tank top shirt with some faded jeans and tall black boots that had a silver buckle on the top outer side of each one. On her right wrist was several gold bracelets. One the back of the seat she was sitting in was her dark red jacket. Niza's wavy dark hair extended down to the middle of her back and hung freely. She looked around the room, trying to find the right person to hang out with.
The girl with the eyepatch that left the group earlier. She is easily angered. If push comes to shove (and push most certainly will come to shove), she could easily manipulate her to get angry at the right people. The problem is that the girl could get easily angered at her, as well. There was the girl with sunglasses and the boy who she dragged around- they seemed kind of close. Manipulate them to think the other would want them to do whatever it was. The problem- the boy was not likely to go along with things, and the girl was too... Happy. She would be annoying to get along with.
Niza's perfectly-filed nails tapped anxiously against the table she sat at as she continued studying each person. Why did she need to study people- find the easiest to manipulate? Simple, really. Niza's power is like manipulation. The more likely someone is to do something for her, the less energy it takes to have them obey her. She had only been able to manipulate one person- she just told some no-name dude to give her five dollars, and he did. It was easy to ask for something like that from anyone, but what about the larger tasks? Spying? Doing certain tasks for her? Niza would first need to find someone easy to manipulate to do that- someone who would easily do something for someone who is "nice" to them.
It was then Niza saw the perfect person for the task. A girl who seemed about her age- maybe a bit younger, maybe not- walked into the lounge. She wore a blue sweatshirt and what looked like a skirt, some leggings, and combat boots. That's not what got her attention, however. The girl's eyes were puffy from crying and yet she still chose to come to a room full of people. She sat alone. Niza smirked. The girl either wanted to be around others to be comforted or was a bit timid and shy. Or was it both? Either way, those types of people are always easy to manipulate. Once people like that make a friend, since they normally don't have many, they usually try and do whatever they can to keep their friendships. So easy to manipulate...
Niza stood up from her seat, picked up her jacket, and walked towards the girl, a fake look of concern on her face. She approached the girl and asked, "Are you okay, hon?"
- Ene and Niza -
"Are you all right, hon?"
Ene, who had just been looking at her hoes, feeling awkward alone in the lounge, an jumped a bit when she heard the voice nearby. She slowly looked up to see who had approached her. A girl stood before her that had long hair, a medium skin tone, and was a bit large in the chest area. Ene looked back down at her shoes and nodded, "I'm fine."
"Those teary eyes of yours tell a different story," Nixa said, keeping the concerned expression pasted to her face. She paused, trying to add on to her "nice girl" act, "but it's fine if you don't want to tell me what's wrong- I would understand. We all have our own secrets, right?"
Ene slowly nodded. So far this girl seemed nice, even if her attire didn't really spell out "nice". But she wasn't supposed to judge books by their cover, anyways. "Thank you," she looked back up at the girl and smiled.
Niza smiled (a fake smile, of course), "At least you're smiling, hm? Now what's your name, hon?"
"Ene," Ene smiled, beginning to feel better just by talking to someone. "You?"
"Just call me Niza," Niza said warmly. Ene, huh? Definitely a nickname. "So how's your first day here been?"
"Fine. A bit hectic, but just fine. How about you?"
The conversation continued from there.

Arianna Madrigal
Sweetheart? Was Abe, like, flirting with her? Arianna did think the mood of the Symphony had shifted a bit, something a little more slow, like it was segueing from the ambient music of a regular conversation to something that might be more akin to that of the score in a movie, building up to the climactic kiss. Of course, this was a minor fluctuation, and trickiest of all, Arianna wasn't hearing her own Song. Merely that of the world around her. She'd certainly been hit on before, dealt with her fair share of flirting, but Arianna Madrigal hadn't ever been kissed-so she was a bit inexperienced in the realm of flirting. Was she leading him on by talking to him? Should she stop? No, wait, that would just be totally b*tchy if she stopped talking to him entirely. "Oh? Boston? I visited a friend there once but never stayed for a super long time. Seemed chill. Literally, I went in December." Arianna watched Abe strum the ukelele, noting on a detached level the various, human imperfections in his technique, but as far people without metahuman musical skill went, he wasn't bad.
Trying to avoid the rather intimidating Titus without being rude, Arianna continued playing the guitar, not missing a beat even as her eyes wandered the fairly crowded lounge. Jake turned his attention back to her quickly enough-which was just fine with Arianna, who coolly brushed some of her hair back behind her ear, feeling a rather out-of-place concern with how she appeared, for some reason-and replied. "Oh, please! One-woman band? I'd be totally boring that way. I'd need-" she made her voice a dramatic whisper-"Jake Valos, pianist extraordinaire to sell the show. Ooh, think about how much money you could make in concert. Pyrotechnics and whatnot, you'd be the really cool part."
The conversation was going pretty smoothly between the three of them (well, four if you counted Titus, who made Arianna kinda scared in a way she wasn't familiar with-she hadn't felt it often before, because it's the fear of something that's no longer at the top of the food chain, no longer in charge of its own fate, and one glance at Titus' muscles reminded her where she stood-no, knelt-in the pecking order), with Abe showing her this cool new way to play the guitar. Well, not necessarily new, per se. The same way that math is merely different formulas rearranged, and learning a new theorem or postulate seems to click naturally, a logical conclusion you should've already reached, this felt more like Arianna was unearthing something she already knew, but had forgotten with time. Learning music felt that way to her, and almost of their own accord, Arianna's hands began dancing across the guitar in the new style, mimicking Abe perfectly. "Ooh, Abe, I like this! I don't know if I've seen a ukelele in concert before, but I think there's definitely gonna be one if we keep up with the band." Arianna's tone was joking, but she did vaguely consider the idea. They could totally make a ton of money this way-and she'd figured her career would drift towards music anyways, sooner or later. Huh. Arianna's worries about finding a job post-Academy suddenly melted.
Playing in sync with Abe, Arianna listened to Jake about living in Brazil-and his rather masterful Portuguese. Well, she assumed it was masterful. I mean, it's not like she knew foreign languages. She could sing songs in foreign languages just fine, but she didn't have a clue what Jake had said. "Whoa! Say some more stuff in Portuguese, I've never known anybody who could speak it." This was truthful-in the tiny school where Arianna had gone to school, their most exotic classmate was the one kid who was from a part of Canada where they spoke English and[i] French. "Most of the meta-humans live there? I...did not know that. That's really interesting." her voice trailed off for a second as Arianna considered the implications. She'd never faced any real discrimination for her gifts but, still? A whole city of them? Like some kind of superhuman Mecca? Arianna had trouble wrapping her mind around the concept. It didn't seem like they could be out in the open like that.
But then again, who would oppose them? Who would seriously try and call out a city of men and women who could level entire cities themselves? Dear God, who could police them? The very concept of Black Fall set something off inside Arianna, who had great difficulty comprehending how a big city, complicated and thriving with life as it already was, could handle the chaos of thousands of superhumans from all over the world. She supposed the Academy was no different, merely a smaller sect of a larger cult. And we get hormones to deal with on top of the superpowers. How fun.
Arianna caught onto the nickname the second time around, having been too engrossed in the conversation to notice it before. Ari sounded okay to her. It was a cute name, like a pet name. And Jake had exploited Arianna's weakness rather well: not to promote stereotypes, but upper class white girls are normally on-board for Starbucks regardless of the occasion. Normally she'd never drink caffeine this late in the day, 'cause then she'd have trouble falling asleep at night and stuff-but her stomach leapt up a bit and her hands missed a beat on the song, her sixth sense entirely losing track of the Song for a few seconds. "Well, I'm not about to say no to free coffee, am I?" Arianna slid off the piano, landing with her usual grace, and handed the guitar back to Abe. "Abe, you, me and Jake're gonna have to make this band a thing. Keep on strummin, Ukelele-boy." Arianna, grinning, turned and didn't even feel too threatened by Titus (who kind of commanded the attention of everyone around him). Actually, she might need caffeinated coffee. Arianna was feeling like she'd just gotten done running a mile. "Wait, you know where the cafe is, right? 'Cause I have no idea."
Valery Arsov
"Hit something the sh*t will," Val said, the (rare) seriousness of his tone completely undercut by how badly he'd butchered the sentence. "But I think you, Abe, and me are going to have quite a bit of fun together. And i see anyone trying to cause something having a bit of difficulty with us. We are formidable," he said, saying the word correctly, if taking a bit of time to pronounce each syllable. "There is not a huge need to worry, but always good to be on safe side. But I will let you go and enjoy your talk with Megan. I usually enjoy most of my talks with her." Val went to give Drake a clap on the shoulder but paused. "Oh, right, bruises. Perhaps other time. I will see you in the lounge...no guarantees on the trouble." He turned and walked off, whistling as he strode down the halls of the Academy. They felt familiar to Val, who had walked through all of them countless times before, and set up a few thousand cups of (ice) water or rolled out a Slip n Slide in most of them. Val took his sweet time getting to the lounge-as Val was apt to do-and stopped and talked with everybody he met on his way there. If he didn't know them, all the better, he sure as hell would before he moved on. And if they were a girl, they'd probably have some difficulty getting Val to move on. In fact, at the snails pace he was taking, it was very likely Drake would beat him back to the lounge, but these things didn't bother Val. It was time well spent.
Coming into the lounge, Val looked around the room with his one eye, seeing the poker table abandoned and a few conglomerates of kids here and th-ah, Abe! Val strode over to Abe, moving past-holy sh*t, that was a big motherf*cker-and flopping down in the seat next to him. "Abe, my friend, you have missed out on fight. So did I, but Drake had a bit of a scuffle without us. He's talking with Megan now about it, because he is not smart and smooth like me and he stayed at the scene of the crime."

Abraham Gene
Abe took all this in a mixed bag - Arianna was a cute gal, she learned fast and sounded great with the new style, and she was sweet with him. However, he didn't like Jake's intrusion and determination to dominate the conversation and, more importantly, Arianna's attention. His appearance and experience with the piano signified some kind of relation to wealth, whether it be in direct variation to his immediate or extended family. Wealth was one thing and taking advantage of it came hand in hand, but milking your own ethnicity and region of birth (in this case Brazil) and using that to create an impression upon others was completely different! For the sake of what, appearing exotic? Pfft. The only impression it creates, Abe figured, was the impression of your ethnicity - correlating you only to your ethnicity - and being known for nothing else but! Much like the people his parents used to hang out around, centering their identity solely on their wealth. Now Abraham wasn't 100% honest about himself or anything else in general, but he at least acknowledged that his assets were the hook the kind of person he chose to portray himself as being the reel.
Then he invited Arianna to lunch. Really! In front of them! Classless and by no means playing the art of subtly to any degree nor displaying courtesy or thoughtfulness (whether or not those traits are genuine in a person). But he could turn this around to his advantage somehow, surely that wouldn't be a problem lest Jake decided to say something about it... then it would be his problem! He sent a wink to Arianna in response to her motion, taking a moment before he decided to share.
"Well if that's what we plan on doin', then maybe I can tag along eh? Get familiar with each otha'. Besides!" He declared, throwing out a pair of jazz hands. "I'm thirsty! And I could use a lil' pick-me-up."
That's when his buddy Val dropped in and broke the news, resting a friendly hand on his teammate's shoulder as a gesture of good faith. He chimed boisterously, "Aha! Drake? What's he gettin' himself into now? Oh, and before I forget: we were just gonna run our way down to the cafe' and grab a coffee or somethin' if you're interested. You tell me the story on the way there!"
Playing the good guy always scores points, after all. Wouldn't hurt to hook Arianna up with some friends too, she might appreciate that.
"Also! Val, meet Arianna and... mister starts with a 'J'. Arianna and mister starts with a 'J', Valery! Me n' Val are teaming wit' Drake when the inevitable team fights start up in the training rooms."

Mel as it turned out, was in the middle of a highly dangerous and coincidently radioactive experiment and currently couldn't be bothered to pick up her phone. She was standing in the middle of a rather large 250 square foot whitewashed, brightly lit laboratory which was completely and totally jam packed with equipment for every experiment imaginable. Going left to right there was an MRI machine, electron microscope, a 6 foot tall incubator full of eggs that did not look to be chickens, a flow chamber, dissection table, carbon nanotube generator, something that looked suspiciously like a partially assembled chemical laser, a latent print development chamber, a couple hundred bottles of various substances and and equal number of beakers and other glassware which I won't bore you by naming. Mel was in the middle of all that dressed in a lead insulated full body bright orange radiation suit. She was stooped over what looked awfully like a perfect replica of a nuclear warhead. Except given the radiation suit it probably wasn't a replica, or at least a replica in the implied non-functional sense.
The phone vibrated again, indicating it was Jasmine contacting her and not some random joe looking for her to forage someone's signature or draw them a glow-in-the-dark three-headed dog. Reluctantly she removed a barium sulfate panel from the desk and placed it back over what one could only assume was either a plutonium or uranium core before removing her phone from the countertop to the left of the semi-dissected warhead.
Lunch. She was invited to... lunch. Yeah right. More like she's invited to help deal with whatever problem Jasmine's gotten herself involved in. A problem of which Jasmine has failed to inform her of so she had no way of judging exactly how important it was, and seeing as it could be anything at this point and therefor nothing, Mel decided a digital non-appearance would suit her purposes best.
Le Café
It was about 8-10 minutes after Jasmine had sent the text that a blue, slightly disconcerting live feed of Mel was projected as a halogram into the air where an empty seat was located, clearly displaying Mel in a radiation suit, half paying attention to the table containing Jasmine, Rush, Ray and their two eaves droppers were occupying, and half paying attention to the nuclear warhead she was clearly probing at with a pair of needle nosed pliers and a few cotton balls soaked in what looked to be Luminol.
"Hola, associates of Jasmine. And, eaves droppers. If the latter could please get lost that would be wonderful. We apparently have important issues to discuss about subjects that if you were to overhear would result in you're immediate termination. Or so says this text message."
Mel flippantly deposited both the pliers and the Luminol swab inside the nuclear warhead to pick up her phone and blatantly scroll through some messages while a bright yellow Geiger counter, also clearly visible, began to rise incrementally.

Jake Vin Valos.

The only thing Jake was really focused on doing was keeping a calm, confident demeanor. Despite all the hindrances he may be looking in the face of at this very moment. Jake smiled, laughing a bit. It was clear that he found the joke funny, but just not as funny as he made it look. "Heh, I'd only be useful doing the live performance. You'd be the backbone." Jake says, just as confident and joyously as ever. He really enjoyed this banter, it was so fun and enjoyable. It was just such a great sign that they would get along just fine in the future. He just needed to make his move first, then Arianna will be his.
Shade wrote:

Regardless of his competitiveness, Jake didn't really dislike Abe. That'd be going too far. Abe was more of a tiny little annoyance that'd come and go. That said, Jake would absolutely enjoy making a friend out of Abe - Because that's the person Jake is. He'll befriend anyone here. So, Jake just watched as Arianna perfectly replicated what Abe did on the guitar. Jake kept a friendly demeanor, but, he didn't have anything to add here. So he just kept quiet.

Oh for the love of... Now things were just getting aggravating. There's no 'we' here. You're just in the way. Jake blatantly rolled his eyes up into his head, before refocusing his gaze on Abe - He felt like calling him Ape, really. He knew what Jake was trying to pull, then decided not to concede and tag along. Such an underhanded tactic, he must add. Truly, now that he thought about it; it was his own fault really. He should have used a bit more subtly, then he wouldn't have this problem. Besides, Abe could have got violent. Now THAT would have been an unfavorable outcome. Then Val, the guy that he met yesterday in the lobby when he was getting his room mate assignments, approached their group. Which would normally provoke another eyeroll, but he was curious about the little exchange that Abe and Val just got into. "Wait, Drake got into something...?" Jake quietly says to himself, hoping that. It was apparent that Drake, Val, and Abe had formed their own group. Funny, Jake had already met all the members of their group. Maybe it might be fate of the sorts. Then he realized that he was just sitting here, for what felt like minutes, with not a word coming out of his mouth....
"Oh yeah, I already met Val. Nice to see you again, bud." Jake says with a warm smile. He had hoped that Val wouldn't have forgotten about him. "Team fights...?" Was the first thing that Abe said that Jake had responded to. He didn't really find the idea of bashing a stranger's skull in that enticing. It'd be nice for someone like Gabe, but Jake wasn't that violent. Jaska probably wouldn't want anything to do with the place, either. Now that he thought about it; he'd make a great support. Deceiving his opponents and creating barriers of the sort. Though, he'd rather be in a team with Gabe - They fight way better together. It might be their twin connection. Though, he'd be fine working with anyone. "I'm down for any teams you got. I'd make a great support." He spoke, with less enthusiasm than he was really trying to show. Jake was really expecting (And hoping for) them to reject him. Then he knew that Arianna. Nah. She doesn't look like the type to be into such things.
Though, he realized that he was going around the problem. What was truly bugging him. Then, while it made Jake cringe internally, he turned to Abe, and let out a quick, "Sure, you can come. I'll pay for everyone." Though, inside, he wanted to say the opposite. But, Jake was resourceful. All he has to do is keep Arianna's attention long enough for Abe to get bored and direct his attention to the next girl that walks by...
... Why does that sound easier in my head?

Seemed like the sensible thing to do, even though Jaska was mostly oblivious to what could be defined as the "sensible thing". "But um...." There was still that doubt, and growing fear inside of him. Despite his own monumental power; Jaska was a bit afraid to go up against those older than him. Merely because far as he could tell; he was outmatched on a number of fields. Skills, knowledge, etc. Things that'd easily allow them to outsmart a ten year old. ".... What if she... uh, comes after us? Or makes it worse for the other girl?" At this point, Jaska had tensed up a bit, uncurling his tail and letting it lie limp in the snow. He hunched over slightly, and had a worried look on his face. Jaska tapped the tips of his claws together, like he usually did when he was scared and nervous. "... And who should we tell?" There were so many questions, but so little answers.

Arianna Madrigal and Valery Arsov
Something about this situation irritated Arianna, all of a sudden, but she wasn't entirely sure what-and a quiet little voice, putting the pieces together, began very desperately hoping that Titus would not be in attendance with the rest of the coffee group. It was terrible to judge him like that, she knew, but even for the girl normally too naive to consider the darker nuances of situations, there just seemed like too many things Titus could do that she'd be powerless to stop. Maybe it was the same with every other metahuman, here, she realized rather chillingly. Mental images of a lamb in a pack of wolves, a rather sickening inversion, appeared in her head.
"Um, yeah! Sure! More the merrier, right? Maybe if it's one of those coffee shops where the hipster kids go and play, we can just continue band practice there. Assuming they have a piano, that is." Arianna rolled her eyes playfully at Jake saying she'd be the backbone which, well, was kinda true, but it'd be really b*tchy and arrogant to say that. She did legitimately think Jake would be an awesome asset to a band, what with his illusionist abilities-and from what she'd seen of Abe, he wasn't half-bad, either. She was about to start walking towards the door, asking everybody was waiting for-there was coffee to be had-when the eyepatched guy she'd bumped into the night before showed up. Thick Russian accent, too. So a Brazilian, a Soviet, and two Americans all walk into a coffee shop...
Val, who had more than his fair share of competing (and failing) to pick up women, sized up the situation rather quickly (and they say I can't figure anything out without my clairvoyance!) and decided he'd probably try and help Abe-assuming, of course, that Val's own supernatural charm didn't sweep Arianna off her feet. "Ah, Jake, yes, good to see you again." Val took one of his own ice cold hands and ruffled Jake's hair, feeling that he should mix it up from handshake and back clasps every now and then. Keep everybody on their toes. "Yeah, yeah, Drake got into a bit of an..." he paused, holding up his hands to signify everybody should wait, "al-ter-cay-shun. Yes. Got it. With the headmaster's daughter, too. I do not know exact details but she apparently jumped him. I came running but, uh," Val clapped his broad chest with both hands. "I'm not running very quickly, yes? Drake is okay, I think. Talking things over with Megan. Said he would meet back up here, I do not know if I will be able to go get coffee...we may have some @ss to go kick. A few creepy girls want to fight Drake in the arena. There were three of them, Abe, if you are up for having first team practice..."
Val, rather caught up in the details of his story, missed Jake's proposition to join the team-likely not anything out of malice, but one got the feeling Val was trying to keep track of four or five different wavelengths of a conversation (in a foreign language) at once straight, not to mention having not met Titus yet was visibly annoying him, so he was bound to miss a little here and there. Arianna, however, picked up on it. "Yeaaaaah you guys have fun breaking all your bones or whatnot. No arena fights for me, no way. I'll be happy to sing and keep you company when you're in the ICU afterwards, though." Aw. Jake offered to pay for everybody. That was nice-not that paying for things was really a big deal for Arianna, who, shall we say, had never woken on Christmas morning and not found everything she asked for beneath the tree, but it was a nice gesture. Everybody here seemed surprisingly cool so far, normal, even for superpowered kids. Weird to think of how mundane teenage life felt in the center of a snowy fortress, full of metahumans.

Jaylin and Kynan exchanged glances. They had thought they knew Amimoore, but now they were beginning to doubt it. Neither would have ver imagined Amimoore to be the type of person to blackmail or do... Whatever it was she did to a random girl without reason.
He has a point, Kynan. What could we do?
I don't know. Try to talk it out? I don't think she knows that we are aware of this, however.
Okay. But what about the other girl?
I... Don't know. But if she doesn't know that we are going to alert someone, why would she bother?
You have a point.
"I don't think Amimoore knows that you saw her, Jask," Kynan began. Jaylin finished his statement, "So we don't have to worry about that. And if all else fails, me and Kynan kind of know her and we can talk it out. As for who to tell..."
"I think Adam would be the best," Kynan finished. "He seems pretty trustworthy and know exactly what Ami's powers are, right? I think..."
"Anyways, he would understand exactly what had happened," Jaylin smiled. "So lets get going and find him, dude!"

Titus
So there was some definite competition here for the heart of the young lady Arianna. Abe looked strong and Jake's power would be an issue in a fight, but Titus knew he could beat them. This girl wasn't quite pretty enough to get in a fight for, though, and so Titus decided to let them have her. He couldn't have every girl, afterall. He waited for some topic that he'd have knowledge about, but seeing that there was none, decided simply to introduce himself.
"Well then." he said "That's an interesting power Jake. I'm Titus, by the way, Titus MacArthur. He attempted to shake hands with all three of them, and when he shook Arianna's he rose it to his lips and kissed her hand gentlemanly. The alpha male in him didn't want to go down without a fight. That was the problem with Titus' conduct oftentimes; he simply couldn't let someone else win.
Eli and Ariella
Spoiler:
"Well then." Ariella whispered as Leila pushed past her "Somebody's on their damned period then." Eli appeared from the changing room a few moments later, now wearing blue jeans, a dark blue v-neck sweater, his peacoat, and a royal blue scarf. Ariella waved to him. He looked quite attractive to her, especially with the slight silver glow in his eyes. He nodded to her contently, but just as she was about to tell him he looked good, his eyes were drawn away.
"have you seen my mommy?" Eli looked about, his eyes beginning to glow silver again. A childlike voice echoed through the room, reverberating off of the walls and swimming in Eli's head like a goldfish in a bowl. His eyes fell on a little girl across the room who floated in midair. She was young; no more than five or six with a short bob-style haircut and large childlike eyes brewing with tears. She was crying, and silver tears streaked down her silver face and landed on her silver clothes. Her ragged torn-up clothing was damp with silver blood. She was semitransparent, and through her Eli could see the hospital's tile floor. "I can't find my mommy..." she said in that same echoing voice.
"Well hello there." Eli said, completely ignorant of the fact that Ariella could not see nor hear the apparition "What's your name?" He walked over to the little girl and crouched down in front of her, a warm smile on his face.
"Have you seen my mommy..." the little girl wept.
"No. I haven't seen your mommy." Eli replied "Where did you last see her?"
"Um..." Ariella began, quite taken aback by Eli having not seen the mommy of a child that isn't there "Eli, did that angel mess with your head or something?"
"Oh yeah I can see ghosts." Eli said, dodging the note about the angel.
"Oh fun. Tell them I said hi." Eli smiled, and the little girl turned and began to walk in the direction of the last place she saw her mommy. Eli shrugged and, standing upright, began to follow her.
"Come on." he said to Ariella "We're finding a ghost's mommy."
"Well that sentence was an adventure." Ariella mused, falling into step behind Eli. She wasn't sure of this, but Hell; he was hot and she was bored. It wasn't like there was anything better to do than follow a random ghost to Hell and back to find her mom. Ariella smiled; there was no more powerful force on Earth than a child looking for their mother.
Jasmine
Jasmine looked past Kate with a look of complete and total boredom on her face. The girl was so obviously flaunting around her large breasts that she looked like and underpaid human-trafficked pornstar about to tear off her clothes and beg Rush to ravage her. She ignored the borderline CENSORED until she walked away and then turned back to her coffee and scone. She felt a chill run up her back, as if there were someone observing her who she couldn't see. It wasn't like being watched by Leon; it felt different, as if someone was lurking right over her shoulder. She disregarded it as superstition, however, as there were no other people in the room and no security cameras.
"She should be here soon." Jasmine replied, returning to her coffee "She's a little odd, not unlike ourselves, but she is uncannily useful in any operation due to her abilities in both construction of objects and deduction. She's not quite as good in the art of deduction as I am, but her other powers are more physical."

"That sounds like Drake alright!" Abe laughed as Valery shared the new gossip concerning Drake. Yeah, sure sounds like Drake! He must've been a bit eager pursuing the headmaster's daughter; the two of them would have to talk the next time they meet. There are plenty of girls in the school, but the one girl you do not go to whatsoever under any circumstance would be the daughter of the guy who owns the joint. Abe could tell him that from experience! They sure had quite the team though, despite his friend's clumsy conduct. Surely there wouldn't be a single handful of kids in this facility that would be capable of withstanding them, let alone taking them on. Valery's mention of the goth girls, two of whom he had met the first night, piqued his interest and gave him a conflicted position to stand in. He couldn't let Jake do what he wants with Arianna! The guy was a total douche, which made it hard to tactfully turn down his offer without looking like a dick.
"Hrm. I'm not sure, man." Abe said, choosing his words carefully. "More than three people at a time messes with the... feng shui, y'know? But hey, if we need a fourth, I'm sure we'd consider ya if you think you can keep up."
He chose his words carefully, no doubt, but he couldn't help to keep himself from throwing in that last bit. It was in jest of course, and Val would see that without a doubt. Just something so they could either see how confident he was or kick start it and getting it going like an enzyme. What Jake saw in his words didn't concern him, but anyone else he put a good impression on would see it for what it is - or what it is supposed to resemble. Jest! Friendly poking. Arianna's comments were cute enough, generally generic in the nice girls don't like to fight sort of way, which suited Abe fine. He smiled at her joke and leaned his weight towards her.
"Thanks for the gesture, sweetheart." He cooed, following up with a wink. He put his arm up, exposing his bare forearm. "But these bones don't break. Maybe you lot would like to check us out, eh? Might be fun. We could get that drink right afterwards, drinks can wait. This though sounds like it might be scheduled and I'd hate to flake out on you two."
Abraham's voice trailed off as he saw Titus introduce his name and stick himself into each one's hands before kissing the girl's hands. What? What! Who did this guy think he is? A big meathead thinks himself some nobility or English historian? That might work if you were foreign and the cube root of the body mass Titus had with a refined accent, but with his size and composure, it was downright creepy. Hell he would probably have to call him out on it.
"Uh... hey buddy," He said to the giant, "that might work, you know, three centuries ago. Nowadays it's within the realms of off-the-charts weird. And permission is usually asked."
Well Abe go a kicked out of that. Ari might like that last bit, ladies nowadays liked the feminist malarkey. Really though, in all honesty, he was hoping Titus would follow them (provided that would be the plan) like the creep he no doubt was just so he can break a couple of his bones. Waaay too close to his territory, closer than even Jake.

Jake Vin Valos. (Featuring short text conversation with Gabe)

Huh? Jake thought to himself. He did have a firm understanding of what Val told him, even with Val having a thick accent and butchering plenty of words. The thing he couldn't wrap his head around was why Drake would pick a fight with the headmaster's daughter, whom he thinks is the girl that was screaming. Though, he wasn't there, nor did he know of the circumstance. "Hm, I just hope it doesn't escalate." Was all he could say. It was something that Jake knew he shouldn't get tangled up in. Then there was the subject of the creepy girls (Hell, all the girls must want a piece of him!) wanting to fight Drake, and practicing in the arena. There was a voice in him saying that he should go along and help them practice for the upcoming fight. Just to practice his illusionist powers in live combat a bit (I know at some point someone's gonna get pissed off at the three of us and challenge us there.). Because combat was where he was lacking. He didn't have the raw brute strength of Abe, Titus, or Val - He had a support abilities along the lines of Arianna. Like he told himself before; Jake's not exactly an arena guy - He'd probably just become the punching bag for these two (Or three, if he added Mr. Titus over here), that was another outcome he didn't desire. He's once again on the fence. He's going to wait and see how things play out, before he says anything.
Shade wrote:
"Yeaaaaah you guys have fun breaking all your bones or whatnot. No arena fights for me, no way. I'll be happy to sing and keep you company when you're in the ICU afterwards, though."
An amused glance got sent towards Arianna. Well, he was right when he predicted that she wouldn't be an arena person. Unless she was watching, that'd really lower his chances of going to the arena with them. "Heh, you could always provide the dramatic background music for them...." He says, teasingly. However, he felt like Arianna was over-reacting. As long as people don't try to kill each other, the injuries should be minimum. Right?

And he speaks! The thoughts ran through Jake's head, since Titus was quiet the whole time, then suddenly started talking again. He had introduced himself as Titus. "Cool name, it really fits you." Jake says, full of confidence and charm. But that demeanor was shattered when Titus... He... Kissed Arianna's hand like this was the 17th (Or whenever) century. That confident smirk turned into a distorted face of pure awkwardness, with his eyebrow raised high up as possible. Jake knew one thing, and one thing only: "Sh*t's about to get awkward..." He said, regrettably loud enough for everyone to hear. He was hoping that Titus wouldn't take it the wrong way.
On the plus side: Titus would surely be taken out of the competition for Arianna.

"... I agree with him, that was pretty weird." Jake says, his eyes were rolled up into his head. Nothing repels vagina better than a weird action caused by a weirder person. Who in their right mind would kiss a girl's hand like it turns them on? It was actually good that Titus did that; the big old ape will be a non-issue. Jake was effectively distracted from his going disdain for Abe, and directed it at Titus. There shouldn't be any further problems with Titus - Jake would hate for the situation to escalate into violence. If it did; Jake would easily be able to handle Titus on his own. Regardless of his strength.
The scene was interrupted when Jake's phone vibrated and played a loud ding - Indicating that he was got a text from someone. Sh*t, what now? Now was not a good time to be texted by whoever. Especially when he's in the middle of chatting up a girl, and trying to scare off this titan of a man. He wasted no time in digging in his pockets and pulling out his phone. "Excuse me for a second...." He quickly looked at the text: it's from Gabe:
You seen Jaska anywhere? He won't answer my texts. And do you want to come along on a little trip to the ruins with Sage and these other nobodies?
Exploring the ruins with Gabe did sound enticing - He'd have to deny though, Abe can't win Arianna's heart while Jake's diddling around in some ruins! Jaska's whereabouts were important though. Jake quickly replied, I'm in the middle of something, so I can't join up with you. But I'll definitely keep an eye out.
A few moments had passed, and Jake was just about to put his phone away. He was halted by Gabe texting him again: Ugh. Make sure we find Jask, I sure as hell don't want another accident.
Jake didn't want an accident either, but, unless anyone knows how to make Jaska transform; incidents regarding it would be kept low. He quickly put his phone back and tended to the conversation.

"Oh... Let's talk to him about it, then." This was a far better plan than anything Jaska could come up with. He really felt like these twins are certainly friends of his that he could depend on. Sure they were a few years older than him. That didn't matter to Jaska. "But uh..." The plan started to hit a snag rather fast. Jaska is intelligent to a degree, he managed to figure out that they were missing a critical piece of this puzzle. "... Where do we find Adam?"

"Heh, odd doesn't begin to describe us. I can't wait to meet her." Ray says, answering Jasmine almost immediately. It was nice for their little distractions to get lost. He quickly looked around again - Focusing his gaze on the departing Kate then the sleeping Mina. It's a good idea to finish up here before any other stupid interruptions get sent their way. Ray leaned back in the chair a bit. "Boy genius, I think we should explain our evil plan before anyone else shows up." He rolled his eyes up into his head and directed his attention at anyone who looked like they'd be trouble or heading near them. He was keeping his eye open for any trouble.
While Rush wanted to wait for Jasmine's friend, Ray was right. He figured that he paraphrase what the Man in the Mirror told him. "Yes. Now. First order of business. Enter reception building. Look into school database. Specifically student database. Look for student departures and arrivals. Find. Anything inconspicuous. Or out-of-the-ordinary."
"Hmph. That's our objective..." Ray says, trying to prompt Rush to explain more about the plan.
"Yes. Have broken into school database and systems before. Easily. Extracted much data... Interesting or not. But. Cannot walk in and access systems. No. Technology meta-humans. Heavily monitored. Especially if snooping around with no given reason. Will immediately be suspected. Likely escorted out. Undesirable... Results."
"... So we get in there without being 'monitored'." Ray says, finger quoting monitored. "I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that we're either going have to distract them, or sneak in. Unless, you have any other plans, Jasmine. Either way, we're better with them not knowing that Rush was even in the building. "

"My, isn't this interesting?" Mina smirked as she listened to this little group's "plan." So they were sneaking into the reception building and hacking into records, getting students' private documents? Really? Sneaking?
It was at this moment that Mina started laughing. She was hunched ove, grabbing her stomach and just laughing. She wiped some tears out of her eyes. "You guys are such... such.... idiots!" she continued laughing. "You're really discussing that in public? Public? Oh, wow, that's not the brightest idea! You aren't the smartest people, now, are ya,? Little miss hooker waitress could be listening! Oh, goodness, I'm listening! you're discussing this where people with powers you don't know of are listening? Oh wow! Just... wow!" She continued laughing, though they couldn't hear her. She froze, a sudden idea in her mind.
She could easily sneak into that building. What were they sneaking into the building for again? Maybe if it was an acceptable excuse, she could get in on this little.... mission. She could easily point out to them that she knows their plan, and then point out that she could go into the building for them. But it just depended on the reason.
Mina sat down on their table, though such an action couldn't be sensed by anyone, really.
"Now, go on explaining, you annoying, amusing people..." she slowly said, "Why exactly are you doing this?"
She was all the while watching her own sleeping form, trying to make sure hooker Kate wasn't doing anything to it.
- Jaylin and Kynan -
Both of the boys glanced at each other nervously in response to Jaska's question. Finally Jaylin spoke up, "That's simple- we just go around asking people if they've sen him. Maybe he's in the teacher's lounge? It makes sense!" He grinned before turning towards the direction where the teacher's lounge was. "And even if he isn't there, we can ask any teachers in there if they've seen him, of course. C'mon."
- Niza and Ene -
"So who all have you met here?" Niza asked Ene. She was sitting on a couch across from Ene, keeping a warm smile on her face. She had to seem as nice as possible, other wise there goes any plans she has for using this girl's power or anything else. She didn't know her power, of course, but all powers have some use to them.
Ene looked around the room. Her eyes were still a bit puffy from earlier, and there was still a hint of sadness and anger in her, butn ot as much as earlier. "I met some twin boys- Jaylin and Kynan. i also met a person who I couldn't tell the gender of- Sage. An animal meta named Jaska. Gabe and her twin, Jake." She nodded at Jake, who was among the growing group of guys surrounding Arianna. "And the girl with him and the others is Arianna, my roommate. She's nice," Ene smiled.
Niza nodded, examining the group. She felt like laughing. Oh, man- Ene's roommate sure did have quite the group of guys around her, huh? What got Niza to finally smirk, however was when she saw one of them reach down and kiss Arianna's hand. The other guys' reactions- oh, that was priceless! Niza held in a laugh. "How about we go and say hi, hm? I' sure they wouldn't mind!"
"I-I don't know," Ene was hesitant. "I-I mean, they're o-obviously in the middle of a conversation and..."
"Now, hon," Niza smiled warmly, "If you are hesitant to talk to people you know, you won't be able to become good friends." Ugh. She hated talking so nice and being helpful. Eyes on the prize, Niz. Eyes on the prize.
Ene hesitantly nodded, "Alright Um... let's go."
Niza was the first to stand up, picking up her jacket and walking over, Ene slowly following.
As they approached, ene nodded at Arianna, 'Um, hey. This is Niza. She's, um..."
"A friend," Niza smiled. "I just wanted to meet you guys and kind of dragged Ene along. Sorry about that," she laughed. Ugh. Nice-ness. Too.... bleh.
Ene sent Niza a greatful smile. She nodded back.
Okay, at least this girl was beginning to see her as a friend. Maybe once she finds out her power, she can be of some assistance. Right now, however, it seemed like she was being nice just to be nice. It was kind of sickening. Niza kept a smile pasted to her face.
"I see some of you are into instruments. I might not look like it, but I know some violin," Niza smiled.

Adam Leo Blackmore, Leon Maddox Vahan, & Megan Emma Jervious.
"... You can't be serious, Leon."
The scene takes place in the student lounge. Only Adam and Leon were in the lounge at the moment, as they had finished their duties for today. They were enjoying some time to kick back before they head out into the school grounds. Adam in particular was expressing disappointment towards Leon. Sitting in his sofa, with his face lowered into his hand. He was holding a book in his free hand.
With a cheeky grin on his face and his arms crossed, Leon stood by the little sign that he had acquired. The incident today reminded him that he got it. A simple sign that says 'Accident Free Days: 0', and under it 'Best Record: 0'. He had it . "Heh, I'm serious as I ever am, Adam. I bought this last time we went on 'shore leave'. We need to put this up during the next class and hope that some day we can erase the zero and write one. Hahaha..." Leon only really got the sign to be sarcastic. He didn't even remember the last time the power instructing class went a day without an accident. It has really become the norm.
Adam merely pushed his glasses up his nose and gave Leon a narrow glare, before he turned his attention back to his book. He had no response.
It was easy to pick up on Adam's lack of a response. The only thing that it had accomplished was making Leon even more amused. "Heh, suit yourself. I bought this, I'm putting it somewhere."
At this moment, Megan Jervious walked into the room and took one good look at the room. "Funny sign, Mister Vahan... But it'd be much easier to have a counter with how many days we've had an accident." She says, cheekily as ever as she sits down on the sofa not too far away from Adam. She laughed
"Hey." Leon says.
"Hello, Megan." Adam says, not turning his attention off his book.
"Ah, Adam, you're going to love what I have to tell you." Megan says very cheekily. Like the news was something cheery and happy.
Adam merely raised an eyebrow in response, "And what may that be...?"
"Apparently, that son of yours got into a little fight with our boss's lovely daughter... Well, it seemed more one sided." While Megan spoke, her tone slowly changed from her usual cheery, near-sarcastic, tone, to a low, serious tone. "There was not a single burn, cut or bruise on Dellamorte, and it looked more like she had hit him."
This certainly gotten Adam's interest, as he immediately closed the book dramatically, and looked at Megan. Not that he didn't believe Megan, he felt like this was something that he decided was up to him to solve. Though it seemed out of character for both Drake and Amimoore. From years of knowing her, Amimoore was too nice to consider fighting, and Drake doesn't hit girls, let alone antagonize them. Though, Adam needed the details himself. He better get started. "Where are they now?"
"Oh, I love your investigative skills, Adam. Amimoore? She left. Drake? I had a little chat with him, and sent off. He's likely with Valery right now."
This only caused Leon to cross and shrug. "You know, I can get all the answers myself. This wouldn't be the first-" He got cut off by Adam mid-sentence.
"No. I will look into this myself." Adam says, his tone sharp. Before he stood up, and made haste out the door. His first objective was to find Drake and Amimoore to ask for their sides of the story. Then he was going to decide what the correct punishment would be. Hopefully they'll provide the least resistance and will be cooperative.
This was always how Adam acted. Preferring to do things himself instead of taking the quick and easy route. Which was why Leon could really respect him. Leon turned to Megan for a second, just to say "Heh, I guess it's time that we've made our patrols, then. Make sure nobody's up to anything." He took large steps away from the sign. "Because nothing escapes these eyes." Leon points at his eyes behind the shades with two fingers before walking out of the room, at a slow and steady pace. Ready to speak with the students.
"Exactly, I'll be moving." Megan says, before she left too.
Gabriela Mya Valos, & Drake Deltori Blackmore.
After the text exchange between Gabe and Jake, she was a little mad. You want to spend your time with some ditzy b*tch over us? So that's how it's gonna be. She mused. With a frown on her face and her eyes narrow. If he's going to play that game, then Gabe will find a girl of her own and blow Jake off with her! That'd show him. A smirk almost formed on her face. She should meet back up with Sage soon, she'd hate for them to go without her - Though, finding Jaska was more important. This is why we need to put a tracking collar around his neck... Gabe was getting worried. There was that lingering distrust of the people here. She didn't know anyone here - That meant that there had to be a few creeps somewhere. Jaska was way too young and inexperienced - Someone could easily take advantage of that. Her reverie was broken when she was approached by someone. Which irritated her a bit, she darted over to the source: Drake Blackmore.
Making his way to the student lounge to meet Val, Drake saw Gabe. While he should head straight to the lounge to keep Val from waiting, he decided to approach her. Just to see what's up. "Hey, Gabe, what's up?" Drake asked, the moment that he got close to Gabe.
Yet another conversation that Gabe didn't want. Maybe she'd get some use out of him. "I'm lookin' for me little brother, Jaska. He's young, got wings and a tail. Have ya' seen him?"
"Nope. Heh, but I'd certainly keep an eye out for the bugger." Drake says, a warm smile on his face.
"Ugh... I need to find him before they leave me behind." Gabe pouted, crossing her arms. She figured that she'd bring Drake along - Because if Sage wants to bring along those two annoying brats, then Gabe is going to bring Drake (Who is slightly better in her opinion). "I'm gettin' some people togetha' to explore some ruins. We're not suppose to go there, so that makes it much more rewarding."
Exploring? Ruins? Drake was always up for exploring dark and scary places. Especially when he's not even supposed to be there. "Sure, I'm down. Might have a bud..." That reminded him; he was supposed to meet Val in the lounge. "Ah, yeah, I'll find you in a second. See ya'." Drake said to Gabe as he turned away and walked towards the lounge.
Gabe rolled her sole eye up into her head as Drake suddenly left. At least she got him on board. Now Gabe was going to continue her search for Jaska, and hopefully he'd be in one piece.
Drake quickly made his way into the student lounge, and gave the place a good look. He saw Val in a group with Abe and Jake, along with this big guy, and this tiny little girl. With these two chicks seemingly sticking themselves in. He walked over to the adjacent wall, outside of Val's gaze, and leaned on the wall and watched them with a grin on his face. Drake didn't really feel like inserting himself into that group. Way too many people, and they're in the middle of something. Just to get Valery's attention, Drake whistled.

Jackson Hatch
In a little corner table out of sight of most of the people in the coffee shop sat a small average looking eighteen year old.He was wearing a slightly faded brown t-shirt,with blue jeans and brown shoes,a large brown jacket was draped over his chair and he seemed to be thorough engrossed in the book he was reading. It happened to be The Extraordinary adventures of Alfred Kroop he had got to the final chapter when a large blue hologram appeared in one of the table's seats he thought that was rather odd Jackson abruptly decided it was time to leave things were getting a bit weird. He placed a bookmark in his book and put on his jacket then he headed for the door.Truthfully he doubted anyone would notice he had stayed out of the public eye most of the day sticking to the last seat in the back row in power training practice he hid near the bleachers hoping no one had seen him and apparently no one had. he was concerned about a small fact as he walked across the snow covered ground towards his room he was beginning to get a splitting migraine from the effort of keeping his form up.When he had first came to this island two days ago he was a bit excited finally he would not feel like a freak anymore no more hiding in his room and avoiding public contact.but when he arrived he noticed that all of the Metas looked pretty darn normal in his eyes "even in a place of my own i'm still a freak" he thought glumly though he did note that there was one other who had animalistic qualities what was his name again? suddenly it became very hard to concentrate at all as his headache intensified he stumbled and fell on the wet ground I need to shift back NOW he quickly ran stumbled to the building and searched desperately for a lavotory he saw one with his blurred vision and ran for it he ran inside and kicked open an empty stall then he fell to his knees and threw up in the bowl.
Then something odd happened his tanish skin turned white and slightly transparent veins could be seen crisscrossing his face his dull green eyes grew wider and intensified in color, his nose shrank to a small size,a thick white webbing grew in between his fingers as well as his feet expanding and busting out of his small shoes all of his hair sunk back into his skull leaving him bald. he leaned over the bowl and retched again. then with the little strength he had left he locked the stall and passed out.

Adam Leo Blackmore, & Jaska Din Valos.
After the small meeting with the rest of the power instructors, Adam made his way outside of the staff dorms. He stood outside and took the breeze of cold air after another. Until he closed his eyes and warmed up the air around him, stopping the wind in the process. The area around him went from frigid cold to . He opened his eyes and looked around. He was ready to begin, an aura of rushing winds surrounded him, as he floated a few inches upward. He stopped when he heard a voice, along with the thumping sound of someone landing. Adam immediately turned his attention to the newcomer.
Because Jaska's 'primary' senses were far above the twins, he managed to spot Adam long before they did. He quickly leaped over to Adam, flapping his wings to give him propulsion. Landing on the ground with a thumping sound. He immediately spoke, "Teacher, teacher, teacher!" He was started off, already a bit excited. "I have something to tell you! It's important!"
"Hm?" Adam made the noise. He was certainly curious about what these three have to say - Though, there was that lingering feeling that it might be a waste of time. Jaska's body language did tell him that this was urgent."I am listening." This may be important, so regardless of any doubt. Just in case any of them were lying, Adam started using his telepathy to look into their heads.
Now that he had Adam's attention, Jaska quickly collected himself. He flexed his wings a bit. "Okay, okay," He started off, "I was walking around, and I saw that screaming girl... What was her name?" Jaska turned his head to Jaylin and Kynan. "Whatever! I saw her walk up to this girl with purple hair and blackmail her about her power - Before she did this weird thing to the girl then walked off."
Blackmail? Girl with purple hair? Adam was reading Jaska's thoughts while he was retelling his story, and it was certain that the boy wasn't lying. "... I certainly have heard much of Amimoore's behavior lately," Adam starts off, dramatically adjusting his glasses, "But, this is unacceptable. Regardless of being the headmaster's daughter. You have done the right thing by telling me." Adam was going to put a stop to this before it escalates. Lily is a high-risk individual on the island, the last Adam wanted was another accident.

Arianna Madrigal and Valery Arsov
Val was a bit hesitant to correct Abe: Abe seemed to be under the impression that this was a lighthearted incident, one of Drake's womanizing attempts gone wrong. Val could deal with an attempt to pick up women gone awry as well as the next guy: if he didn't have a good sense of humor, he'd have killed himself by now-but Val had a sinking suspicion not all was as it appeared when it came to the young headmaster's daughter. No, Val wasn't one to take much seriously-and by much, I mean absolutely anything-but this struck a chord. Val's father, who had not himself served in the Great Patriotic War, but heard plenty of tales from his own father, warned Val before he left. "Trust your instincts. You will not understand the language of the Americans, you won't understand their customs, and you certainly won't understand their women. But your instincts? They don't recognize borders." Then he'd told Val what to do to make hangovers pass more quickly. Val had a pretty solid relationship with his father.
But for now? Val would play along. No need to rouse suspicions-especially because he wouldn't want to c*ckblock Abe or upset the lovely Arianna (her voice, ah...there was something about it. Fascinating to listen to). Val completely missed the gesture of affection shown by Titus, but had he witnesssed it, he likely would've commented about how it's still totally cool in Spain.
Arianna, however, was the exact opposite: the girl, who came down to the lounge feeling lazy and poorly dressed, had felt a great confidence boost in the form of now four guys hitting on her, and couldn't have been paying more attention to every last detail of the conversation. And that confidence boost suddenly veered into creepy territory when Titus kissed her hand. The way he held it? It was like a grizzly bear was keeping her fingers right between its teeth, ready to snap them off at any second. Christ. He was so damned strong. Arianna did the best to keep her voice steady and her face from looking too much like a deer in the headlights. "Oh. Um. Very nice to m-meet you. I'm Arianna." She refrained from giving her last name because like hey what if he stalked her and knew where she lived and that would be terrible the gates around her neighborhood certainly weren't keeping him out and-
Val raised an eyebrow at the mention of Titus' last name. "MacArthur? You probably get this a lot, but I don't suppose you are great nephew or something of American general?" You know, the asshole one! Val didn't pay too much attention in class, but military history did fascinate him. It felt intuitive to him, as opposed to math or english, which tended to make Val feel drowsy more than anything else.
Arianna was impressed by Abe's claim, but also felt a little slighted by the way he'd kinda talked down to Jake. That was what he did, right? Still, his confidence was admirable, and Arianna was currently feeling like anyone who could handle themselves in a fight would be nice to have with Titus around, so she wasn't about to say anything. "Famous last words, Abraham," Arianna chided, not knowing what to say. Like unless his power was unbreakable bones or something, the closest Arianna had gotten to a fight was seeing one break out a hockey match one time. "Oh, um, I don't know..." Arianna said, hesitantly. Jake mentioned providing dramatic background music, which did make her chuckle. "Yeah, I suppose I could. I can do Gregorian chanting pretty well..." She didn't want to see anybody get hurt, but maybe if they went to the Arena they could find a way to give Titus the slip or she could leave while he was in the Arena or something. And beyond that, she was morbidly curious in how a fight went. It was all going to be harmless, right? Nobody would get seriously hurt...Arianna didn't react to Abe's proximity to her-if he was closer to her, maybe it would scare off Titus, so he was fine to latch onto her for all she was concerned. Something about Titus struck a chord with her, at some primordial level, and it made her lose track of the Symphony each time she glanced his way or heard his bass voice rumble out of his throat. She tucked her hands into her pockets and subconsciously began wiping her hand against the inside of her jeans. Nyeeehhh. Wait does that qualify as my first kiss? I don't think so, but I'll have a hell of a story to tell my kids one day if so...
Jake got busy with his phone so Arianna looked around at the group curiously, trying to make up her mind about the Russian newcomer. "So, um, we going to get coffee or are we headed to the Arena?"

The clock rung five o' clock.
Five o' clock was a good time for the most part. The majority of the teacher and faculty could finally relax, the students were out of classes and hanging out in their dorms, the lounge, cafe', or even the training rooms for some good old sparring sessions. There was a good amount of fun hiding in each and every one of those places, though harder to find if you're all by your lonesome. It was an unfortunate occurrence among youth and one easily relatable to - but they also had opportunity - something most were given, half pursued, and few that were simply too unfortunate enough to have... but five o' clock; five o' clock was a very good time indeed for almost all people around the world: scholars returning home or to their dorms to have the rest of their days off, husbands returning home from the office, day shift soldiers retiring to their bunks, and even teachers. Even teachers had their afternoon easy, their work hours mostly consisting of the morning, midday, and early afternoon. Their fortune was on par with the janitor, who only worked after hours and thereby having all morning, midday, and afternoon free. Technical management though? No, no such luck would be found in the control room. The room where blood and sweat is spent keeping the academy running and under control, maintaining surveillance, and even a unique division that specializes in security. Not many here had the luxury of having many off-hours, no, problems prop up all the time. Problems that the team must keep up with to remain at a steady and smooth pace.
But there was good in honest labor. There was integrity in their work and it's their work that keeps the facility running. Why shouldn't they be proud of their integrity? While indeed it's unfortunate the team doesn't receive the kind of recognition and appreciation that is warranted by everyone's hard work, most numbered it as ignorance - they simply do not know better. How could they? How could they tell how serious the job was and how important it was if there weren't any problems to run past their defenses? So they learned not to take their pride from another's praise but by the acknowledgement that the academy would suffer without them. That there might have instilled some form of elitism (however much unconscious that sense may be in a person) but surely, some of the others didn't really see them as actual members of the faculty or school board, so what goes around comes around, yes? An unfortunate result, this segregation, but each part of the academy had a part to play and they all played it well. It was crucial to a functioning environment after all.
Damon's part to play wasn't glamorous. He often played behind the scenes, keeping himself going on cold coffee if not through his own sheer will power, but he was good at his job and he managed a crack team of software maintenance and network engineers. He dressed modestly in whatever kept him comfortable and concealed most of his skin, despite one hell of an internal heat source he had going on in his body, much of his nerves were already damaged and thus was easy enough to ignore some of the discomfort. It was a drain to keep a conscious effort to contain the hive while performing his job. Damon wasn't a huge fan of his power, not at all. It had created more problems in his life than it had created good, all with varying degrees of severity. It would be a stretch to say he has come to accept it or embrace it, but has come to understand what he is, who he is, and what he can do to keep himself under control. Being a meta-human was odd and provided many different perspectives for one to look at life, him more than others. But in general, it was the same. Everyone had a battle to fight to see who they really were when given power and each faced or followed the different paths necessary to keep that part of them from getting out of control. He heard a story about Adam once, that crazy old man. He had one hell of a story, and you wouldn't think it if you saw him today, but he was definitely Drake Blackmore's dad. He had caught some of the footage from one of the cameras from a fight between Drake and one of the other students that could do stuff with the training room's concrete.
Needless to say, Damon was on a job right now. There had been a failed connected between one of the ethernet cables and the ethernet repeater ports and he already sent some guys to get a close look at it while he monitored the connected from his computer. That cable was the difference between a solid LAN and a half-dozen or so offices being connected to the school's network. Fortunately, the cable breakage activated a subroutine that forwarded the information that would've gone to that repeater to one of the other ethernet devices. A handy precaution, no doubt, but it's unhealthy for the system to sustain such an imbalanced strain. The whole network was balanced just right so that there was enough machines to get make everything "go" but not so much so that they could all communicate properly... and everything must be perfect, lest of course they all wish to be fired. What other place could they call home if not the academy? Everyone had their own reason to be here. Damon's? Well, he hasn't had a home in a very long time. He's also here to fix things. Finally living safe and easy and fixing things is all he cared to live for at this time of his life. A notification had popped onto his screen, informing him the connection was reestablished. Damon sighed. Disaster averted! And by the very littlest things too, it was funny how often that was shown true inside and out of his work? Even in politics, even in war.
One of the guys that was sent to solve the issue came back at a relaxed pace. He looked nothing impressive. Short hair, striped collar shirt tucked in, tie, unassuming face, your typical white collared man. The man also learned had a way with electricity after an accident with the family dog, so appearances weren't always everything. They didn't know each other that well for the most part, the man knew nothing of Damon's history and their relationship was strictly professional, as it is with every other man and woman in this room. Damon preferred to spend his off time relaxing alone, considering how much time he spent with others while on duty. The man's name was Sycamore... well, his last name anyways. He was somewhat new here, but he knew what he was doing. He had a good heart. "Alright boss," he would always say, "what's next on the list?"
Damon's response was typical and was usually something the lines of, "Nothing urgent as of right now." Albeit now was only slightly different. "But the disconnection created a couple of missing patches in the data codes. It's pretty small and should take you no more than ten minutes. Fix that and we'll be back up to the gold standard."
It was the standard, trading information and then sending Sycamore on his way. Damon was already focusing on something of his own. Most of the faculty (or at least anybody with some varying degree of importance) knew about the scene about MacDonald and the two students. Gruesome, horrible. Unimaginable, even. He was assigned to improve school security, although he needn't be assigned to take on this responsibility on his own. He would've gladly volunteered, but his part was limited. His division wasn't meant to be standing by doors, so they had to help by more passive means, which is as he understands it, installing cameras in half of the offices. Small ones too, big as a pea. Unfortunately, they don't have enough resources to cover the school with them. It was unnerving, thinking there was a killer in the school. The school! On campus! All of the lives of the kids were in danger and they didn't even know it. He'd personally like to meet this guy face to face just to give him a piece of his mind, but... his skills were more needed here. He watched as the black screens on his monitor caused by the broken cameras to be replaced by the hidden cameras around that room, and a couple other windows came to life where security was usually thin. The small size wasn't the only thing that's cool about, you know what else is cool? Facial recognition. Damon sure did love his toys, and the academy had access to a lot of high-tech equipment. He saw some of the Eyes in the footage and read up a little bit on them. Computers are his niche, not mechanics... but man! He would love to dissect one of them to see how it was wired.
But now that the cameras was up, he figured he should tell the outside to spread the word to the rest of the faculty. Damon's mouse slid to the "recipients" field and pulled down a list of faculty members. He clicked "forward to all" and his fingers darting around the keyboard quick as a whistle.
"218 Staff,
The cable sever dilemma has immediately been resolved, so we are back to our gold standard system network. The security cameras have finished being installed around campus, including Dr. MacDonald's room. Lest there's ready-to-install electrical doors, this is the most we're able to contribute. A list of camera locations is shown below, and if anyone discovers any complications, we encourage them to take this information and immediately bring this to the networking and technical team in Room 15. Lastly, we've discovered an electrical drain in the female dorm room 221, occupants: "Jasmine Chang" and "Mel", so I request someone looks into that soon. I also suspect the database was been tampered with, so if anyone has a file with miss Mel's information I would gladly place it back into the system and install more firewalls.

That should be good enough. Send. When was his time off, now? Oh! It's only ten minutes from now. His break was a good three hours off, enough to rest and to grab enough food to save for when he's back at his post and last him until he gets off again. Perhaps enough time to chat with another teacher? ...Nah, much too tired. Deal with another colleague and he'll probably go crazy from the monotony. Regardless, he should wrap up what he's doing now and then he can take that break. It was easier that way, he'd feel more accomplished and satisfied with himself. Maybe he could watch a couple of dumb kids try to break each other's bones in the training room. It'd at least be nice to know what kind of people he's serving here. By the looks of it, a couple of them were pretty rowdy. Blackmore, Gene, and MacArthur in particular. Those are the kids he should be most wary of, he felt. But then there was Dacious' daughter... what was up with her?
Never mind that. Damon typed in a couple of commands and then shut his laptop before standing up and taking a great big stretch before leaving the sign by his desk saying he's out of office. What would be a good time? Ah, lunch. Or dinner. Whichever one it was, he hasn't eaten enough today to care. Right, so food and then watching kids fight. Fun, fun, fun. He should save some room for laying on the couch in the teacher's lounge. Oh ho ho, that sounded tempting. See? Five o' clock was a very good time indeed.

This changed everything. Everything he thought he knew about apparitions is about as good as scrapped. Through hypothesizing, background information, experimentation, and just about the whole damn scientific method, it proved that there was more to these things than just ghosts. No, not even ghosts. They were psionic. That alone changed his perception. The existence of meta-humans, the peculiar mutations and creating unnatural abilities and traits, that was one thing. But these things, these psionics, they were naturally occurring. He only mutated to gain a connection with them, they didn't revolve around him at all. He already asked questions about them - it was fascinating! They weren't biological living beings, that was what stumped Jesse the most. They were streaming consciousness. Pure and unadulterated active consciousness made of, most confusingly, anti-matter (which its high-energy collisions with each other doing a fair amount to explain their state of being). Since interaction between both kinds of matter tends to result in the destruction of both, the apparitions exist within a temporal polydimensional plane between units of time; one that Jesse could see unlike the others members of humanity who only perceive three dimensions. As for their method of birth, that still remains a mystery to him. It was said that antimatter can be produced through radioactive decay but the actual science behind it was beyond his realm of understanding. But he could live without knowing that, much of this was beyond any human comprehension and so he didn't feel so bad about not understanding it.
They also didn't recognize themselves as any particular species and are simply aware of their consciousness and the environment around them; being labeled didn't bring satisfaction to them, and speaking of satisfaction, emotion was a rather foreign concept to them. Jesse supposed it had to do with the lack of particular neural functions that existed within the brain. But beyond just that, there was even more to them! Besides just their living consciousness, they appeared to exist as a condensed cloud of electrically active gas, though inert for the most part. With ionic bonds, no less. It went against his understanding of chemistry. But what did hold up was that the ionic bonds were great electrical conductors, which explained why the neuron energy flowed so easily through them. That brought another question to him: how do they know all this? They didn't appear to have an education system like us three dimensional creatures, they just appeared to exist - and know. That part troubled him a bit, but at least his other answers already brought him to couple other conclusions. They interact with neuron energy easily which explained how they were capable of psionic abilities. It was up to this point that Jesse had to stop asking questions, it was already too much. Too metaphysical and went against what he already knew too much. I need time to absorb all this before I start asking anymore questions.
But he was excited to know all these fascinating new details! He had to share, he had to-- Lily! Lily would love to know this was all about, she helped him figure himself out, she at least deserved to be let in on these discoveries. She said she knew about the apparitions and his connection with them - but that should've been it. As for their actual details, she should be in the dark. This thought, of course, made him excited. She'd probably love to know! But of course, there was also a problem in finding her. That part was the kicker. She was in the student lounge the other night, so hell, that's the only place that made sense to him other than her being in her dorm (which would probably be a bad idea visiting if that were the case, as it signified she'd prefer to be alone). So that settled it. Jesse got up from his bed and looked about the room, glancing at Val's collection of memorabilia from home and then the apparitions. He satisfied him he can look at them now and smile rather than being frightened. That thought in mind, he took off through the dorm room door and headed straight in the direction of the student lounge. Coming to the academy probably had to be one of the greatest things that had helped him turn his life around. Between the teachers and people he has met, he had learned more about himself in a twenty-four hours than he could since the manifestation of his power.
And only now has he ever acknowledged his ability as a power.

"Aw shucks." Abe mused at Arianna's famous last words comment. Okay, so she was doubtful! That's fair enough. If she was at the training session this morning, maybe she didn't recognize him since he was covered in stone and all, but she'd learn soon enough regardless. While it's true his power wasn't "unbreakable bones", it was damn near close. He also had a couple tricks up his sleeve should an accident of such severity ever occur. One of the many talents he has. He thought about the fight carefully. If they were to go, would she be impressed or intimidated? IT made him think about how he would present himself in front of the crowd, but another look at Arianna look at Titus reassured him that he ought to win. She didn't trust the guy, that was obvious. She needed someone to trust, especially if Titus were to ever try something... and who better to go to than me, eh? So that settled that, he was going to win. Show how ruthless he can be when it's needed and play it sweet when around Arianna. Ladies liked that, right? Sweet guys that fight hard and defend what they want. Someone to rely on. Abe felt pretty confident he could play that part for her if necessary.
Val didn't say much more concerning Drake, so Abe figured he was pretty spot on with the whole incident with Amimoore. Should probably toss a couple teasing jabs at him when they get there and have a moment to warm themselves up before the team match begins. So he was fighting at least two of the goth girls, huh? He didn't know much about them, but they must be pretty confident or have some semblance of who they're going up against. In which case, Abe wouldn't feel like he had to hold back. That means he can show off some moves the others have yet to see before and he has pleeeenty of ideas! Val also made a couple references to his eye at some point, so perhaps he could use that to get more information on them? No? He hadn't a clue what his eye could do, but he was pretty curious about it. In any case, Arianna still wasn't sure. How could he coax her? Well, people like having options. The illusion of choice was often the best persuader - while being piquant, of course. The presence of equanimity with chastened words, though subconsciously vehement to hint at passion and conviction. Expressing an appreciation or desire for a person's presence. Girls liked that articulate poetic stuff for some reason.
"You can do whatever ya want, I ain't gonna pressure you." Abe assured with a toothy smile. "But lemme' say it's gonna be a whole lot of fun... it always is!"
He was a bit too preoccupied in talking to Ari to notice Niza and Ene approach the group, and frankly he talked somewhat loud and his voice carried well, so he'd have trouble hearing a timid or humble voice over himself. He didn't notice a brown skinned girl out of the corner of his eye, but it didn't quite click in his brain since he was trying to convince Arianna to join him. And, well, Jake too, supposedly. Can't imagine he'd get Arianna anywhere without him and Jake probably wasn't interested in joining them. He did make the first offer after all and was probably eager to be rid of Abe. Well he shall have no such luck! No such luck at all!

Jake Vin Valos.
The scene wasn't as awkward as Jake thought it'd turn out to be. He honestly thought that Arianna would be overcome with awkwardness that she wouldn't be able to even speak. Though, Jake didn't like Titus right off the bat, from the way he just kissed a girl's hand told him that he had issues with boundaries. Jake knew he'd be the guy to take it one step too far. After that dust had settled, there came the decision of where the group (Minus Titus) would go next. It was pretty much Jake's decision on where everyone goes next, since both Arianna and Abe (Regrettably) seem to have no preference. Jake assessed the options in his head. Going to get coffee at the cafe now seemed pointless. Getting coffee was originally 'Operation: Get rid of Abe and be alone with Arianna' and failed harder than he ever could have imagined. Though he could take some victory in the fact that he did offer to do it first. Then there was the arena - That was certainly not a desirable outcome. All that end up happening the moment he stepped in the area would be Jake getting pulverized by Abe, or Val, or Titus (Everyone's going to be gunning for my ass). If he was honest with himself: Arianna wasn't worth getting his ass kicked, or having to sit through an awkward cafe gathering. It was just that natural competitive drive inside of him that was just stopping him from walking away and let Abe have his one. Because even if he does lose to Abe, that sure as hell is better than giving up this early in the race.
... Or take a third option.
The phone in Jake's pocket called out to him with a great (Or he hopes) idea: He brings Arianna along for that trip into the ruins that Gabe texted him about. "How about I throw in a third option..." Jake says, speaking in a sly tone, "Gabe just sent me a text about a little trip into the ruins off campus with some friends. How about we go check it out? It'd be more interesting than the cafe or arena. Unless you're scared and all... But let me tell you; I've seen scarier things-" Like Jaska. "- Than simple abandoned buildings." Jake was really unsure of how things would go with his suggestion. Maybe neither of them would like to explore such a place - Though, if they're eager to run off to the arena and fight.... Either way, Jake would go with whatever Arianna wanted. "That's just an option, though."

Kate
Kate sat there and let Mina berate her. Some choice words formed in her head, but it was no way to talk to a customer. When her headphone's came on she looked amused. There was nothing that could link her to triggering them other than the girls claim. Revealing her power wasn't a concern. After years of using it openly nobody had guessed what it was. Right as she scrambled to come up with a way to foremost disprove her inappropriate attention, and her power usage Mina fell fast asleep. If she was trying to get the last word, it wasn't worth the price. That stunt would likely ruin her credibility. There was something else though. This was all a facade. Her power revealed that the sleeping girl was neither helpless or unaware. Kate placed a hand on her shoulder and leaned in close. "You just told me more about your power than I revealed to you. Have a nice nap." As she walked away she mumbled "loser" under her breath. Then she went back to waiting tables, all the while keeping her ears open for any juicy information.
(I'll post with Seth when the ruins trip starts, and the others when Drake goes to the arena.)

Jackson Hatch
"ehhhhhhh" came a sound from the third bathroom stall.Inside the bathroom stall Jackson had regained consciousness he gripped the side of stall and pulled him self up his knees failed and he fell back down. His second try was successful oh his eyes squinted in pain every part of his body had a sore burning feeling.Which was accurate considering he just had the mother-of-all workouts.
He raised his left hand to his chin to wipe the bile off."That was stupid,I shouldn't have waited so long to change back". he took a deep breath and then focused his body began to change the webbing on his fingers and toes split and faded into his hands,His nose grew to a more normal side cartilage grew around his ear holes to a more natural ear shape. Then he stopped his entire figure was shaking from the sheer effort of just doing that."can't no more.....hurts" he quickly glanced out the crack in the stall door he couldn't really see anyone.he breathed a sigh of relief he hadn't the time to check to see if anyone was in the bathroom,if anyone had been in there he would have been screwed.
There was still however the issue of his current state he was still bald, teeth rounded, and gross skin, but he just didn't have the strength to make a full transformation, his fingers drummed nervously on the side of the stall,"If I could get to my room I could rest but can I make it like this?" he would have to try he slipped on his jacket zipped it all the way up and pulled his hood over his face his shoes were still wreaked but he couldn't really do anything about that,he opened the stall glancing around the corner just in case someone was hidden, with the coast seemingly clear he stepped out and lowered his head as he exited the bathroom.
to get to his room he had to pass back a group of students he didn't really know any of them nor did he want too he thought he knew them by name he pulled his hood even more over his face and lowered his head avoiding any and all eye contact. He heard them talk of a....ruin? This place had ruins too? he didn't have anytime to ponder over this fact though and he rushed down the halls towards his room. he stood before the door feeling his form start to break."hey open the door it's your roommate Jackson" he got no answer for a few seconds. he began to knock more desperately and soon he was literally punching the door bruising his fist,a note of urgency permeated his voice "Please open the door man! it's an emergency!" in his nervous state it never once occurred to him that he could probably use the key he was given to open the door.

Arianna Madrigal
"Ruins? But those are against the rules..." Val said, his tone one of very obvious mock horror. "Much as I love f*cking with the administrators-" he paused, glancing to make sure Drake hadn't come in the room, "I did say I would wait for our friend Drake. And while he wouldn't be surprised to hear I had run off to do something stupid, I do not think he would be happy, either." Val clapped Abe on the shoulder and moved to the outside of the lounge to wait for Drake, prepping himself for an arena fight.
Val had considerable experience in the arena. For the most part? Successful experience. He'd learned how to take a punch, both the mundane and supernatural variants, and Val had put the mind that faltered against calculus and essays to good use when it came to improvised thinking and on the spot analysis. Casually, unconcerned by the passerbys, he began stretching a bit, not wanting to cramp up the minute he set foot in the arena. Val may not have much time to talk shop with Drake, and he didn't know if Drake would listen-but, Drake's confidence and energy would be useful even if he didn't listen. Val essentially had one strategy, that could be easily adjusted for all his enemies.
Time.
Time wore down mountains and tore apart the continents. Time killed every living thing, given a high enough dosage. Val did not need to beat his enemies. Val merely needed to outlast them.
Arianna Madrigal
Abe seemed to take her playful jab with good natured confidence. That was nice-she didn't want anything she said to come across the wrong way, particularly Titus. Bad things could happen if she made him mad. Jesus Arianna, why are you so hung up over this? Don't be such a coward, he's just a normal guy. Probably. Her hand burned a bit as she hummed slightly under her breath, not entirely aware she was doing it. The peppy tune made the lights in the room flicker a little brighter, the collective mood raise just a smidge. As with most things in life, Arianna lost a bit of control when she her emotions were all askew-and, as is frequent with teenagers, her emotions were all askew. She briefly considered trying to decipher them, to make sense out of the fear and the romantic tension and the energy and the nervousness, but her main dilemma was how to wriggle out of going to the Arena. No way did she want to see people fight-like, what if somebody got really hurt? I mean, people could get really messed up in regular old fistfights-not that Arianna had ever witnessed one-but surely that meant only worse things could happen in supernatural fights. All the regular hormones of teenagers with powers they didn't understand and couldn't control? Arianna Madrigal wanted no part of that.
"Fun for you guys, maybe! I don't get the same testosterone rush beating the crap out of somebody. Or watching people fight." Arianna shivered. "I mean, I think I got nauseous watching boxing on TV once." But then a rather miraculous conversation changer in the form of Niza and Ene appeared. "Ooh, you play violin too? Ohmigosh, you guys, I'm actually thinking this band thing could work." Arianna extended her hand to shake Niza's. "Nice to meet you, Niza." This school certainly did have some eccentric names. Ene, Niza, a guy named Valery. Arianna couldn't keep up. "Do you..."
Arianna's attempt at starting a conversation with Niza and Ene was abruptly rendered short by Jake's suggestion, which (and silly Arianna wasn't entirely consciously aware of this) resolved the issue of no fighting and still wanting to be with some of her suitors-perhaps one in particular-rather well. The ruins. Sounded spooky. And while Arianna may not have been a pugilist, she was certainly feeling a bit of culture shock coming to the Academy. And after a lifetime of coloring in the lines and gated neighborhoods, going to the ruins after dark sounded f*cking awesome. This is funny, because Arianna would later look back and realize how stupid an idea that was, risking expulsion on the first day, but, thankfully for interesting stories, logic never prevails.
"The ruins? Those sound awesome." Even if Gabe's kinda b*tchy. "Definitely better than fighting if you guys are cool with that...and we can always get some coffee after we do our Indiana Jones thing. Wait, how far away is it? Will I need to change clothes or whatever?" Arianna figured, if it was going to be a hike to get there, she might need to slip on some slightly warmer stuff. A voice, deep in the back of her head, quietly asked if that's really why she wanted to go change, and another voice, much louder, told the first to shut up and go with it.

Jake Vin Valos.

Ruins? But those are against the rules..." Val said, his tone one of very obvious mock horror. "Much as I love f*cking with the administrators-" he paused, glancing to make sure Drake hadn't come in the room, "I did say I would wait for our friend Drake. And while he wouldn't be surprised to hear I had run off to do something stupid, I do not think he would be happy, either."
Jake let out a quiet chuckle at Val's comments. He did understand how Val had other priorities - Jake did too. Then Val left without saying goodbye. "I'll give you some time to work out your business, I'll see you around, Val." Jake legitimately meant it. He actually liked Val, unlike Titus over here. Val amused him. Unlike Titus, who just weirded Jake out and is nothing more than a third wheel - Actually, now that he thought about it; Abe and Jake were fighting to make the other the third wheel in the group. A fight that I'll win.

Oh boy, then you're going to have a swell time here. Jake thinks to himself, half-smirking. Arianna's reluctance for fighting was amusing in a way. Since, he had the feeling that some of the people here are just meatheads that only wanted to beat each other into the dirt. Jake turned to Arianna, "Hmph. I don't get the appeal with giving some else brain damage either." He says, cheekily. Jake then pointed at the slashing scar that was under his eye. "I personally don't want anymore scars. Thank you very much." He started laughing. Before that's when Arianna addressed the two girls that had approached. In truth; he didn't notice them because he was so invested into this conversation. "Oh, sorry, Ene. I didn't notice you there... What's up?" Jake said, a bit more worried than before. This was odd, Jake didn't consider the possibility. The question rang through his head.
Are they really here?
Then everyone in the room simply vanished out of thin air, except for Jake, with no traces. Not another sound was made, nor another object was moved. When he looked around, everything that was being used was neatly put back. Despite this being all odd and alien when thrusted at him; it was all. This was all in his head of course, triggered by doubt and other emotions. It was still unnerving to him. His expression quickly turned to a frightened and worried one, and his eyes looked like he was staring into the abyss. It was a notable change of demeanor. Going from a confident and to a more much horrified one. Seeing that everyone was gone, for no reason at all. Despite being usual business; it worried him. It made him think whether this is all real. Whether Arianna, Abe, Titus, Val, Ene, and Niza were all illusions, and he was just standing in an empty room, talking to his imaginary friends. That made too much sense. There was only one way to find out. The pocket watch that's in his outfit. He grabbed it, brought it closer, and flipped it over, hunching over slightly to look at it.
He looked up, only to see that everything was returned to normal - Of course, in his mind. Hopefully, no one would take notice about his little mental breakdown. It was so funny. He was just on the verge of a meta-physical collapse in his head, and it all got fixed just by peaking at his pocket watch. Said pocket watch has no real supernatural value. It just fixed his head faster when it got out of whack. Ever since he received the thing. Or it just trapped him in the illusio - Argh! Don't think too hard about it.... Jake was just going to reinvest himself in the conversation. By then, Arianna had .

Exactly what Jake wanted to hear. Now the situation was once bending in his favor. Even if it really wasn't, and he was just hoping it was. A favorable outcome would be Arianna and Jake alone, but he shouldn't get ahead of himself. Hopefully this trip will go as planned. Jake answered Arianna's question, just without the confidence he had before, "... I don't know how far away it is... But, I would change into something you don't mind getting dirty."
Drake Deltori Blackmore.
"Heh, I was wondering when you'd come out." Drake says, as he walked up behind Val with an amused look on his face, and an unlit cigarette in between his fingers. "You didn't see me hanging in the corner of your eyes?" He said, followed by a laugh. Drake was watching the group most of the time, he choose not to interrupt out of courtesy, and because they didn't provide any conversation he liked. Drake got closer to Val, and wrapped his arm around his Russian friend, "So, who were the three babes and that big man with you and Abe? You two sure know how to attract the ladies - Wish I could been apart of it, but, heh, I don't like being the center of attention all the time." He laughed again, except he cut himself off with a, "Now that, that, would just be a dickmove. Ha."
Leon Maddox Vahan.
"Now, now, kid, what's with all the racket?"
Leon says, as he approached, his movement slow, steady and controlled. He had one hand on the hilt of his sword. Leon had already observed Jackson from a distance, using the Eye of Providence, and decided to lend his assistance. That is what he's paid to do. Leon was virtually unphased by Jackson's appearance, since he's seen worse than this more often than naught. He walked up to Jackson, and leaned up against the wall next to a student's room. "Let me guess; you've lost your key?"

Abraham Gene
Abe simply laughed at the comments concerning the fighting. That was fine, they were just ignorant. Not inheritably a bad thing of course, everybody is ignorant of what they do not know or aren't aware of, it's natural. As the year progresses, they'd surely learn what it was all about. Abe studied up on it a bit, the goal wasn't really to beat the ever-loving-shit out of the other person (though honestly that was more Abe's style), but to just... win. Without fatalities. Incapacitating them, immobilizing them, putting them in an position where it'd be impossible to win... like chess, only a lot more fun! Since he personally was a lot more aligned with the idea of cracking skulls and beat downs, he expected he might get into trouble at least a couple times during the school year. If anything, it was good exercise! It also secured a more respectable place for him among the students, so nobody gets it in their head that they could mess with him and get away with it. Jake's eagerness to agree either made him a lapdog or a pansy - or both - so he already knew where the two of them stood and Abe felt he towered above him. Then there needn't be any worry about Arianna if he's the one trying to serenade her, ha! But there was also the problem with Titus. He could cause problems, especially with how forthright and large he was. And odd. Bad combinations, those. Especially if they're hounding after a sweet, innocent girl. Watching her get excited over a potential band, with the expressive and ecstatic sound of her voice, put him at ease somehow.
All he could do was shrug at their refusal. Fine, fine, whatever. Another time. They could meet up afterwords at the cafe', share what happened, and all should be good. He said, "Okay that's fine. Do what ya want, we can meet up again for coffee later after we're all done."
But he couldn't leave on that note. He still didn't trust Titus with the move he made and the threat he posed. And the girl seemed uncomfortable around him, so now was good a time as any to make a move concerning that problem. He moved in closer to Arianna so he could speak to her quietly without the big guy overhearing. "...Be careful with beefcake over there, a'ight? In case somethin' happens, I can give you my number before we go."
Backing off after saying what he had to say to her, he collected his things. Abraham put his leather jacket back on and placed his ukelele into his case, glancing outside of the lounge where Drake and Val stood. It looked as though they were ready, he probably shouldn't hold them up. He stood back up and slung the ukelele case over his shoulder and gently took back his guitar from Arianna before placing it in its own case as well. He reassured her with a wink as he zipped it open and reached into the pocket of his coat, presumably where his phone was. He looked back to Val and Drake and put up a finger, signaling that he'd only be a moment longer as he waited for Arianna.

Ene and Niza exchanged glances when it seemed at first like everyone was going to ignore them. Niza was about to make a comment when Arianna finally noticed them. Niza smirked, "Hey, hon."
It was then that Jake suggeste the trip to the ruins. What was the kid thinking? Who wants a bad rep on the first day of school? As tempting as it sounds, Nixa doesn't want to get a bad rep with the teachers- she was soon to get one, so why rush it? Enjoy not beig noticed by the higher-ups while it lasts.
The Arianna girl was up for the trip. Niza chose to speak up even though she wasn't really invited, in her opinion.
"Sorry, hon, I don't want any trouble so early in the year," Niza smirked.
Meanwhile, Ene nodded at Jake, "it's fine. Niza wanted to come over here. Sorry about intruding." She didn't reply to the ruins statement. She wasn't really sure why to say.
- Jaylin and Kynan -
The twins stood uncomfortably still as Jaska spoke to Adam. They both felt guilty- like they had betrayed a friend. But it was the right thing to do. Wa Amimoore their friend? They both were now unsure. Thu thought of her as their friend, but did she think of them a a fried? Her attitude and recent actions made them unsure.
Even so, when Adam said he was going to see into the situation, Jaylin couldn't help but pipe up.
"Please don't be too harsh, though."
Kynan looked frantically at Jaylin.
Careful, Jay. That could be rude.
But Ami-
She might not see us as friends anymore. I don't know.
Maybe so, but I- we still see her as a friend.
I know.
So we need to try to help friends. We need to help her see that what she is doing is wrong, but not too harshly.
Wow. You're getting smarter, Jay. Not so dumb.
Thank y- wait a sec. Dumb?
Kynan didn't reply. His face just suddenly had a small smile appear on it in reply. ((Dumb post. Please forgive me XD))

Jackson Hatch
He abruptly stopped hammering the door so hard and realized his idiocy. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his key. He then looked up at Leon a bit sheepishly "oh yeah...um it was right here all along". He looked down at his feet just stewing in the sheer awkwardness of the moment. He then realized he might want to say something to Leon so he wouldn't get suspicious. " So....lovely weather we're having?" he mentally cringed at his statement "Lovely weather? Its always freaking snowing!" "uh yeah thanks for um helping me with the uh key." Jackson nervously mashed his key into to the keyhole several times before he got it in (it was one of those electronic ones). A resonating click was heard and Jackson opened the door. His roommate was asleep on his bed "How the heck could he sleep through all the noise!" Jackson stepped into the room and turned towards Leon. "Have a nice day" before hastily closing the door in Leon's face. He walked over to his side of the room and sat down on his bed "That was way too close" if he had stayed any longer that Leon might get susipous an look at him a little more closely.....he shuddered at the thought. he then relaxed his entire form going back to normal he reached towards his duffel bag near him and took out an old rubix cube,he began to try to solve it the whole process seemed to have a calming effect on him. as he slotted the colors into place he made up a new plan instead of going all day in his disguise he would take regular breaks. At lunchtime he would go to the bathroom and change back, that way the strain would be greatly lessened. he carefully placed the rubix cube on his nightstand then he got up and turned off the lights ,he laid down in his bed he pulled the covers over him turning away so if his roommate woke up he wouldn't see him,he almost immediately dozed off.

Valery Arsov
((After Abe stops flirting and leaves, this'll take place))
"When I would come out? No thank you, Drake, I will stay in closet a while longer. I did not catch names of two newcomer girls, first was Arianna-" Val horribly butchered her name but seemed unaware of doing so. "Big hoss was Titus. And attracting ladies, yes, it is what we do. We are, how do you say, players?" Val rolled his neck around a bit and grinned, the excitement of an Arena fight getting to him. He was normally fairly easygoing, but this was getting him revved up. He could feel the cold energy pulsing through his veins, ready to manifest as a blizzard or black ice or any other manner of things.
"Come, let us go to Arena so we can commence kicking ass. Now, I do not know what you two plan on doing, but here are my thoughts for the fight. It seems to me that our powers are best suited for offense. We do not have any healers or psychics or whatnot-aside from..." Val pointed at his eye. "Here is what I will do. I will not really attack any of them. Instead, I will focus on making things cold as sh*t. Drake, given your plasma, you should not be bothered by black ice and snow. Try and stay in air, move around. Don't melt too much or you'll be making my job harder. Abe, I do not know how badly elements affect you-I will try and keep cold from affecting you, but things may get chilly. I apologize. While you two distract and deliver some..." he fumbled with his hands, thinking of the right word. "Haymakers? I think that is it. Yes, haymakers of your own, I will be making things very hard for them. I can also find out what their powers are very quickly and inform you. If you two can keep them from gunning for me too much, they will be hypothermic within about ten minutes. Sound good? I do not mean to be boss but this strategy has worked for me many times before. They can fight us but they cannot fight nature. I am open to suggestions, though, as long as they still let us kick ass."
Val spoke, not in his usual carefree tone, but a focused and alert one. He was actively considering the possibilities and speaking of his strategy with the confidence that comes from trials by fire-or, in this case, ice. Regardless, Val seemed entirely confident of his strategy's success, but also open to his teammates-Val considered them integral parts of his strategy. Without Abe's strong defenses or Drake's quickness, the others could quickly target him and force him to focus most of his resources on defending against conventional attacks. With the other two drawing fire, Val could make the Arena look and feel like Siberia much more easily.
Arianna Madrigal
The Russian guy left-he seemed nice, if a little boisterous-and she resumed her focus to the conversation at hand. Their group had fluctuated a bit recently, what with Ene, Niza, and Titus' arrival and then Val doing his thing, but they seemed back to their regular dynamic now. Arianna listened closely to what Jake and Abe had to say, feeling a very strange, nagging doubt about why she had chosen to wear the sweatshirt.
Arianna looked at Jake's dueling scar and grinned. A Brazilian with dueling scars? I mean, I don't want to go off stereotypes here, but surely he wasn't the only one...you speak German, Jake? "How'd you get that anyways? Oh, no, wait, if it's a story as cool as your scar, maybe we should wait until the ruins to hear it."
Arianna wasn't listening too much to the Symphony, but if she had been, she would've noticed Jake's song going incredibly off-beat, as if someone had accidentally jumped ahead five or six pages in the libretto when playing. But Arianna wasn't listening, not to her supernatural senses-she was too wrapped up in the conventional ebb and flow of the conversation, although she did notice Jake pale a bit, looking a little under the weather. She almost asked him if he was okay but decided against it-guys didn't like to be asked that in front of people, right? That messed with their pride or whatever. She'd wait until later, maybe. Oh no! Maybe talking about his scar had brought it up...suddenly she felt very guilty for what she'd said about its origins being "cool".
Abe, on the other hand, didn't seem fluttered at all. He was heading out with Val and-Arianna thought they said Drake-to go bash somebody's head in. "Oh, uh, good luck. Don't die or whatever." Abe leaned in and whispered something to her, which made her feel really comforted-she was glad she wasn't the only one a little off-put by Titus, and while Abe didn't look like he was a match for Titus in terms of a fistfight, she knew that appearances were deceiving, especially here. Arianna nodded and, trying not to let on how seriously tempting the offer was, said, "Oh, don't worry, I don't think Jake will be that bad. I'll let you know if something happens." With a shiver, she realized if "something" did happen, she would likely not be in any state to tell anyone afterwards, but she put those thoughts out of her head. Those were bad, nightmarish thoughts, as opposed to good nightmarish thoughts. Arianna quickly gave out her number, feeling very strange as she did it-wait, was he getting her number? Like, in a romantic way? But he'd said that it was for in case Titus...ugh. While her old school, with twenty something kids in her graduating class, might've been boring and stale, at least she understood stuff there. Here it was all strange.
And then Niza seemed a little irritated. Eek. Well, it might've been because Arianna admittedly took a second to notice them-but Abe and Jake were kinda bombarding her with questions (not that this was a bad thing) so she missed that a little. Hopefully it wouldn't make things awkward for her and Ene back in the dorms later. "Can't say as I blame you...I'll probably regret this. Hey, Ene, I think I have my key, but if I don't, can you leave the door unlocked for me? And, in return, I'll regale you with cool stories of ghosts and serial killers on the run and whatnot that we found in the ruins?" Then Jake said it would be a ways away, so a change of clothes might be necessary. A part of her said this was a very very good thing and felt a need to obsessively tear through every article of clothing she'd brought to the Academy to find the absolute perfect set, and the other parts of her wondered why this was suddenly so important. "Oh, scratch that Ene. If it's gonna be a hike I'll change real fast. Here, Jake, I'll meet you and whoever else is going back here in, say, ten minutes? I'll go put on some stuff better suited for the cold."
Arianna ducked out of the conversation, and without actively paying attention to the conversation, the Symphony began to flow back into her awareness again, pointing out the vibrant energy of all the kids in the Lounge and the little nuances of conversations. The Symphony was loud tonight, with Abe and Val and Drake sounding something like Flight of the Valkyries and the group back in the lounge a strange mix of songs, impossible for her to decipher, too many conflicting goals and minds to get a lock on who was who or who wanted what. The Symphony was difficult to understand at times, but so very beautiful. Arianna could enjoy sitting and listening to nothing-and yet everything-for hours.
Arianna found her way back to her room and, lo and behold, she did have her key. Quietly singing "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", she closed the door behind her and began to change, glancing at her hair in the mirror. Maybe she should fix that too. For, uh, the cold. Arianna shed down to her underwear and bra, slipping on a pair of jeans and wriggling her toes into a pair of boots. She threw on a long sleeved t-shirt and a black peacoat over that. Was that alright? Maybe? Arianna threw on a pink scarf and a cozy hat, finally tucking her hands into some mittens. She took her hair out of the ponytail and walked back out of the room, feeling a little underdressed (which was weird, because they were just going to some ruins, so why did she care so much?) but excited by the thought of doing something dangerous. Well, not really dangerous, but, like, just dangerous enough to get a goody two shoes jittery on adrenaline. Humming to herself, Arianna made her way back to the lounge to rendezvous with everybody and then head to the ominous sounding RUINS
