Alright, posted. Let me immediately say that Cody isn't just an agent of the Combine, he's actually one of the top guys in charge, which is why he's very powerful. At the same time, though, he also has the least influence in regards to decision-making, since he's the the youngest of the group.

Appearance: Nikki is a girl that doesn't appear like the average female. Whether it's her boyish facial features, or her lack of feminine features. It can be hard to tell that she's female sometimes. But an observant eye can definitely say that she's female. Nikki appears very tomboy-ish, to the point where she's near androgynous. Her facial features mostly appear to be male. She has a slim build, that's slightly muscular, but won't impress anybody. She lacks that desired female figure, instead it's a straight figure that lacks curves (Flat chest and butt), and is generally masculine. While she's short in terms of height, her arms and legs are notably long, and she has large, bony fingers. Nikki is an obviously Asian girl, of specifically Korean roots. Her skin is a light-yellow color, that's not exactly perfect. Her skin isn't perfectly clear, since she has plenty of scars on her body, and her knees are pretty scared from falling over as a kid. In terms of looks, Nikki can be called pretty, but she isn't winning any beauty pageants. She does look a bit boyish, but definitely female. Nikki's head is oval shaped and very rounded, her facial features are dull and rounded too. Nikki's cheeks are very notably large and round, but smooth, blending into her face well. They are often the first thing people notice about her. She has small lips, that aren't very girly or anything like that. Nikki has a medium sized nose, that's very pointed at the tips, and her nostrils are very small, and C-shaped. Her ears are medium sized, but notable round. Nikki's forehead is very big, and often the butt of jokes.
Because of her heritage Nikki's eyes are small, slanted, and a brown color. Nikki's hair is jet-black, and short. She keeps it in a high-profile style, and a bit of it brushed over the left side of her forehead.

Personality: Nikki is a rather noble and kind person. She lived her life as a loner, and it shows in how she behaves around people. She's shy, rarely speaks, and is quite hesitant, when around strangers. She keeps to herself most of the time, and tries to appear serious as possible. However, when around people; she's much warmer and much more receptive. She can be seen smiling and generally acting cheerful, and playing around like a girl her age shouldn't be. Nikki is nice and warm to just about everyone when they haven't done anything to provoke her. But despite this, she isn't far away from socially awkward, and really lacks confidence. Nikki is a very open minded isn't bothered by issues like homosexuality and transgender-ism. She doesn't judge people based off such things, and is willing to try things. When the time comes, she's much more serious, and is a very focused person. Thinking through decisions greatly. Her weakness comes when she doesn't have time to think, only time to act. Which can cause her to mess up things. When provoked, she can be quite aggressive and lash out at the aggressor. And she can get super pissed off. To the point where she throws out logic and says/does something she'd regret later. Merely because she's put up with things that caused her great stress and emotional harm, and she doesn't like anymore. Nikki also has a habit with holding grudges against people - Because once they've pissed her off, they'll have to try their damn near hardest to redeem themselves.

Nikki is a... bored girl. She was bored with her current life, and where she feared it was going. Which is why she's decided to take up the mantle of a vigilante. Not just for heroic reasons, she just wanted some excitement in her life. It's a rush to be out there fighting crime. Fighting demons and beating up criminals. Which satisfies her boredom with life, and she's making the place a better place. However, that boredom and displeasure has seeped into her work as a hero. Sometimes she feels like things aren't going to get better as hard as she tries, and she's only wasting her time. On top of that, she fears the excessive damage she does whenever she gets into a fight. In terms of D&D morality, Nikki can be classified as Chaotic or Neutral Good. On one hand, Nikki tries her best to appear as the ideal person that makes the best choices and saves everyone. On the other hand, she isn't the ideal hero. She is a Anti-hero in a way. She won't let rules get in her way, nor does she have many inhibitions preventing her from killing an especially dangerous man. But only when there seems to be no other choice, will she resort to these drastic means.

Biography: Prepare yourself for complete sub-parness! Since I suck at backstories.

Nikki's grand-parents, Jin-Ho & Mi-Cha Biyung, were north Korean immigrants that moved to American several decades ago, along with their child Su-Ming (Nikki's mother). There, they had another child, Lisa Biyung. Their two children eventually met their loves, and had children of their own. Su-Ming met a Korean man in America named Young Jae, married, and had two children, Nikki and Micheal Biyung. Her aunt Lisa Biyung married into a English family known as the Blackmores).

Moving on, Nikki was raised in Illinois, with her family. She didn't exactly have a great time growing up, due to her powers subconsciously attracting large quantities of insects to her. Which made it difficult for her to really connect to people, but she never saw the insects as a real hindrance, nor was she afraid of them. It just hindered her ability to play with other kids. To say the least, she had a less than stellar time in Kindergarten. As her ability developed, it made it difficult to participate in school or stay in one place too long, as the swarm got bigger, and more aggressive and protective of her. To the point where she had to be pulled out of public school, and placed into home school. Where there were less of a risk of her harming people. That said, there isn't much remarkable about her back story.

There was a natural progression of events, as Nikki aged, she received a normal-ish education, but could never get social skills down. She lived far away from other homes, in a place that had a large yard, thus she could go outside and interact with the very arthropods that she had attracted. There she got an idea that she was different from everyone else. Still, for a good deal of her life, she remained the dark little secret of the Biyung family. When she was ten a pedophile had targeted Nikki. While she was playing in her yard, he came up and tried to snatch her out. She was utterly terrified, and couldn't help but scream. The swarm that she constantly attracted was subconsciously ordered to attack him. A few hundred insects that covered his entire being in less than a few minutes. Wasps, bees, cockroaches, ants, beetles - Everything chewing his entire body. Injecting him with as much poisons as they could. He was dead shortly. By that, Nikki's mother and father came out and helped her. It was near impossible explaining that he was killed by a swarm.

That event changed Nikki, and became a defining moment. That was when she finally realized that there was more to the insects than she believed; that she was special. Then Nikki wondered if she could control it. She became even more detached from the social life, but dedicated that time to learning about her power. Spending the next few years training herself to use her power. Which had impressed her, Nikki had learned that she could do so much stuff with her powers, and by an extension arthropods. She could even prevent them from subconsciously coming to her. By the time she was 15, Nikki had a relative grasp on her powers. Then she requested that she attends school. After a few months, the school year started, and she began high school.

High school wasn't easy. Especially since she had rather poor social skills to begin with. Nikki was no less of a loner in high school than she was in home school. Getting shunned and ignored by whoever, even getting her own circle of bullies. Fortunately, she managed to make a few friends in high school, and avoided any and all incidents regarding her power. But still had problem when it came to the social scene. Plus, she was already pretty bored, itching to use her power when she's devoted so much time to training. Nikki decided to put that training to good use. She turned to being a vigilante, you may say. Every night, she went out wearing a hoodie, and used her powers to prevent crimes. Criminals would be found covered in hornet and bee stings, or placed into a cocoon of webs. At first, Nikki was nervous, but in the end, it really helped her. Nikki was much more confident, and did something to alleviate the energy. Despite coming home tired as hell and sometimes; she was doing better when it came to her confidence and stood up to her bullies. Though Nikki got her ass kicked when it came to the latter.

When dark spirits and demons came into play... Well, heh, that's when things got interesting...

Family: The Biyungs are a family of Korean Immigrants who have moved to America. It consists of her mother Su-Min, her father Jin-Ho, her aunt Lisa Biyung (Now married into a English family known as the Blackmores), and brother Micheal Biyung. Fortunately, Nikki has the luxury of a kind family, so she stays in good terms with them.

Skills and Abilities

Skills: Nikki has a little bit of skills under her belt. For starters, she's very perspective, intelligent and logical, and putting those together means that she can figure things other. It also comes with an innate observantness that allows her to pick up details. On the more of a sporty side, Nikki has played Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer, and it has really improved her speed and footwork. She runs fast like an athlete would. Another part of her athletic skill is that she's a very good climber, though most of the things she had to climb were trees. Nikki is also a practitioner of Karate, and has reached Red-belt status. Though, she hasn't practiced in ages, she still remembers enough to get her through it. Under other noncombat skills, Nikki knows how to draw, knit clothing very well, can play the guitar and the flute, and gymnastics.

Powers: ... BUUUGS

Macro-Arthropodkinesis. Nikki has the powerful ability to control Arthropods (Insects, Arachnids, etc) on a large scale. She can sense all arthropods on a large scale, tell what kind of insect they are, and at will control them to make them follow her every wish. This ability allows her to sense what they sense. This power is large scale, thus, she can control thousands of insects at a time and she can control insects from miles away from her. Nikki's degree of skill with this ability is so high that she can individually give commands to the insects.

Arthropod-Biology Manipulation. Nikki's secondary power is easily her most dangerous one. She can alter the biology of any insect within a ten foot radius. Allowing herself to completely redefine their biology to anything within reason. Make them larger, make them poisonous, etc. I am good with bugs, so I (think I) know what I'm doing. And just to clarify, she CAN'T do this a lot, so no armies of poisonous, two foot large, butterflies.

... Psst... Both of these abilities are somewhat connected to her emotions.

Gift of the Seer. Due to a combination of constantly being attacked by Dark Spirits, AND staying in the presence of a Seer for awhile, Nikki has a slight ability to detect the supernatural, long as they are undisguised.


Strengths:

- Can use her insects to spy on enemies
- Very skilled at fighting and other physical gifts.

Weaknesses:
- Fire is very effective against bugs
- It'll take time for Nikki to gather an effective swarm
- The more insects that Nikki control, the less fine control she has over them
- Killing a large amount of insects at once will cause Nikki a mental shock
- Changing an arthropods biology requires concentration, not completing the process will kill the arthropod.

Hair Color: Human form: golden brown. Supernatural form: he has no hair
Alignment: Neutral. He could be swayed either way.

Personal Information

Appearance: Samael has three forms, technically, so I will make a sub-appearance for each.
Supernatural form: This is Samael’s true form, as well as his most formidable one. In this form, Samael appears basically as the Grim Reaper. His body becomes a skeleton, and his eyes glow dark purple like twin magical coals. His skeleton is bleach white, and is devoid of any sort of imperfection. Over the skeleton is a black robe with a surcoat over it  that has Bible verses embroidered on it in silver thread (the front is Leviticus, while the back is Deuteronomy). They are written in Hebrew. On Samael’s back is an enormous pair of black wings similar to the wings of an angel. He has a massive wingspan of about twenty-five feet. The wings fold up on his back when he’s not in flight or combat. Samael floats about six inches off of the ground in this form and moves by gliding about. In this form (though he can summon it in his human form too) Samael carries an enormous scythe (the size varies depending on which form he’s in). The scythe has a black shaft with a shining silver blade that has a writing on it in Hebrew, as well as several seals.

Human form: This is Samael’s base form looks roughly like a teenaged boy. He has a relatively average frame, with not much muscle or fat. He is relatively scrawny and insignificant-looking, though carries an air of self-confidence and charity about himself. His skin is of an olive complexion, and his eyes are chocolate brown with outer rims of gold (heterochromia iridium). He has very Jewish features, with a prominent nose (a Jewish nose. I don’t really know how to describe it) and large ears. His eyebrows are thick and darker than the rest of his hair, though they do not give off the air of burliness that many men with bushy eyebrows do. He has a wide mouth with thin lips and pearly white teeth (though a few have obviously been cracked and then repaired). He has large ears that stick out on the sides of his head and medium-length light brown hair that he combs over to the right. In the corner of Sam’s mouth is a small scar (it’s not really noticeable). His body in itself is relatively devoid of major scarring. Sam’s wardrobe is simple and average. He normally wears a tee shirt with a solid-colored zip-up hooded sweatshirt and a pair of cargo pants or jeans, but never sweatpants because he thinks they look dirty and unprofessional. On his feet he wears a pair of beat-up black high top converse tennis shoes. Sam’s wardrobe appears to be designed to make him look normal and relatively insignificant so that he doesn’t stick out in a crowd. The only really personal thing he wears is a wooden rosary that he tucks under his tee shirt. The beads and cross on it were made of wood from Bethlehem and the Jesus on the cross is covered in Mother of Pearl. On his right ring finger is a golden Junior ring with a blue stone set in it. The ring appears to be well taken care of and is devoid of scratches or imperfections.

Alternative form: Sam’s alternative form is a raven, a Thick-Billed Raven to be exact. It is a large corvid, with a white patch on the back of its neck and a very thick bill. Because I’m bad at describing birds, this description is linked to a picture of a thick-billed raven so you can see for yourself.

Personality: Sam is generally a kind, amiable person. The virtue of charity is ingrained deep in his heart, and he has an incredibly great deal of mercy. Some say that if a homeless boy were to approach Sam while he’s eating lunch, he would give it to the boy, no questions asked. Sam spends a lot of his time volunteering at soup kitchens and food pantries in Edgehollow to assist people who are going through hard times. He’s one of those guys who always stops at a panhandler and puts money in their bucket. Many times he offers to buy them lunch and has meals with them. Because of this, Sam is very comfortable around new people and knows many of the less desirable people of Edgehollow. Chances are that if you ask him for help with something, he “knows a guy”. He’s an excellent person to talk about faith or religion with, as he is very passionate about his beliefs. He has read the bible over several times in order to make sure that Christianity was for him, and, while he saw many bad things done in the old testament, found it acceptable to be a part of. He is not narrow-minded in religion, and has read about many other faiths too, such as Judaism and Islam.
Sam is a cautious person, and often steers clear of doing things that could possibly harm him or others. He’s very down to earth, and does not possess the old idea of teenaged invincibility (this in part has to do with his power). While he will occasionally go to a party or two, he does not drink or do any sort of drugs. He likes being in control of his actions, and drugs impair his decision-making skills. He does not necessarily preach against these actions toward his friends, though will often try to keep them from doing over bad or stupid things. He’s the most responsible person at a party 99% of the time, and tries to keep order. He absolutely hates it when he sees others get hurt. Because of his lack of, as people who don’t like him say, “fun”, Sam does not have many friends, but the ones he does have are very close to him and he is loyal to them. Sam becomes very attached to his friends and tells them everything. He has very few secrets, making him the least-likely person to be what he is (ie, a mythical creature). A friend or two of his actually knows that he is a Valkyrian, but he trusts that they won’t tell. If they did, though, he’d be in huge trouble, as his parents are highly-traditional Valkyrians, and it is against their Code of Honor to tell a Mortal of their secrets. Sam is very close to his family, and loves them more than anyone else in the world.
Sam isn’t reserved or antisocial, per-say; he just doesn’t have many friends because of his opinions. Because he isn’t antisocial, he doesn’t have a problem speaking his mind, something that a few times has gotten him in fights. Sam has a strong sense of justice, and if he sees something wrong he will point it out and attempt to stop it. He’s not a vigilante-type of person, but if he sees someone being bullied or a girl being pressured, he has zero problem with stepping in and saying something.
Death seems to affect Sam more than most due to both his identity and his attachment to loved ones. The death of a loved one absolutely devastates him, and he normally becomes depressed for days on end. He becomes despondent most of the time, and pulls himself away from others, temporarily becoming an introvert. Sam’s dream is to become an ER doctor so that he can save the lives of the most vulnerable of people. He plans on going to college to get a biology degree (as well as pre-med) and then on going into the Peace Corps for a year or two before getting his MD. That way, he will be able to help the world’s most vulnerable people and make himself more appealing to whoever hires him.
Sam is a very hard-working individual. He’s not as intellectually gifted as many of his peers are, and so has to work a lot harder to get good grades. He currently has a 4.0 GPA (he takes honors classes and two APs, so this isn’t completely insane). Sam enjoys reading so long as the material can grab his interest. He is a big Harry Potter fan, and also likes the Mortal Instruments series and the Hunger Games. Sam’s taste in music is widely varied. He cannot stand pop music or top forty. He mainly listens to country and lighter rock (the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jack Johnson), though he has a sweet tooth for Avenged Sevenfold. He doesn’t watch television very much, though his favorite movie is probably Gladiator. His favorite video game is Portal (he has a poster on his wall that says “THE CAKE IS A LIE”), though he likes Assassin’s Creed a lot as well. He plays soccer and enjoys watching it on TV.


Biography: Samael comes from a long line of Valkyrians stretching back farther than anyone can remember. It is said that the Angel of Death that God sent down against the Egyptians in the Book of Exodus bore a son with one of the Israelites who became the first Valkyrian (this is just a sort of creation myth, though, and is highly unlikely). Sam’s grandmother, Chaya (yes I stole that from Devil’s Arithmetic) lived in a small Jewish town in Poland when the Holocaust began. She was taken to the Warsaw Ghetto, where the became a leader amongst the people, saying that she was “A descendant of the Angel of Death”. She was one of the leaders of the famous Warsaw Uprising, and when the Nazis finally abandoned the city in 1945, she moved to America. There she had Samael’s father, David, who became a firefighter. David met Sam’s mother Mary on the job. She was an EMS paramedic and also a Valkyrie. The two fell in love, though they had to hide their relationship from Chaya. She knew all along, though, and, while she did not like the fact that Mary was a Christian, would not deny her only son his true love. They had a Jewish wedding, though Mary refused to convert, much to Chaya’s misfortune. The two argued often (Chaya and Mary) over what religion the couple’s child would be. When they finally had Sam, David decided to put his foot down and say that the boy would be a Jew. Mary was distraught, but would not start a possibly relationship-ending argument with her husband. She was a woman who chose her battles wisely.
Sam grew up in a primarily Jewish family in Edgehollow. He was raised to follow the Valkyrian code of honor without even knowing what it was (this will be explained below). He wanted to be a doctor and help people since he was a child, long before he knew who he was, or what he was. When Sam turned nine, it was revealed to him that he was a Valkyrian. This was quite a shock to him, but he embraced his identity and turned it into a good thing. Chaya herself taught Sam how to use his abilities. Chaya passed down to him Memitim, the ancient scythe that had been passed down from generation to generation in the family for centuries. This upset David, who she did not give the scythe to, and she knew why. She was trying to keep the boy from converting. This failed, though, as David soon came in contact with Christianity via a Catholic brother at a soup kitchen he volunteered at. The man’s name was Brother Michael, and he was the most amazing, charitable man Sam had ever met. He worked at the soup kitchen every day and was not paid a dime. Any money given to him, he gave to the poor people visiting. The man began to tell Sam about Christianity one day, and the boy fell in love with Jesus. He announced to his family that he was going to convert, and all Hell broke loose. Mary defended her son’s beliefs, but Chaya would not have a Christian grandson. As Sam went through RCIA, the battle commenced. Perhaps it was an act of luck that Chaya died a few weeks before the Easter Vigil (when converts are officially converted). She was killed by a street rat who was attempting to rape a young woman. Chaya defeated both of the criminal’s partners and badly wounded him, but he shot her just before passing out. She died in the hospital a few days later, as none of the doctors knew how to treat her (human medicine doesn’t work on Valkyries). Sam converted and his family stayed intact. Ever since, the family has made it work. On Saturdays, David goes to Sabbath and they eat a Jewish meal, while on Sunday Mary and Sam go to Mass. The family still eats kosher food (so that they can all eat together). In general, Sam’s family is relatively peaceful now. David teaches Sam about his abilities, though he is relatively limited in his knowledge and can’t teach Sam everything.

Family: Well I just kind of went over this in the history section, but I’ll do it again. Sam’s parents are David and Mary. They are both Valkyrians. David is a fireman and Mary is a paramedic. Sam’s grandmother Chaya died a few years ago, though his grandfather has been dead for years. He has one uncle on his father’s side and two aunts on his mother’s side, though he very rarely sees them. Sam now has a baby sister who is one year old. Her name is Hannah. Sam has a few different cousins and such, but he doesn’t see them very much and they’re a lot older.

Relationships: Sam has a few close friends as well as a girlfriend named Katrina (I might make her a meta human character, but I have a lot of characters right now so I may just have her be mentioned once or twice). Two of them know what Sam is, though the others do not (he has about six friends that he hangs out with most of the time). One of them, Will, taught Sam how to play guitar. A few of his friends help out when he volunteers, though most of them just see him at school and invite him along when they do things.

Skills and Abilities

Skills: Sam can speak Hebrew (a byproduct of being Jewish for a long time), and is decent at Spanish (he’s in the Spanish Honors Society at his school, but if you dropped him off in a Spanish-speaking country he’d still starve to death like the rest of us). Sam is decently fast (but not supernaturally) thanks to his soccer skills. He is decently skilled in combat with his weapon, but is no professional assassin. He’s a relatively decent combatant. Sam can play guitar decently, though he’s no Eddie Van Halen. He is more of an acoustic guitarist than an electric guitarist (the term for the latter is the “lead”).

Powers: So, like my compatriot Lieo, I’m kind of going to group abilities, strengths, and weaknesses all in the same group here. Sam is a Valkyrian, also known as a Reaper or an Angel of Death. Contrary to popular belief, however, Valkyrians are not killers or personifications of death. They are simply believed to be so because they show up many times in areas where people have died. Sam and other Valkyrians are often confused with Seers, as they have several similar abilities, such as the power to sense the supernatural. Sam can see dark spirits and sense the supernatural. His supernatural sight, however, is not very well-developed, and so he cannot accurately see spirits. They appear to him as blurry outlines (he can see dark spirits better than good spirits). He cannot necessarily sense demons, but he gets kind of an odd feeling about himself when they are around. He naturally does not trust them. Sam’s touch is works like a painkiller, and nerfs pain in general. He cannot heal wounds necessarily, but he can get rid of their pain. He cannot do the converse and add pain, however; he can only take it away. Sam’s painkilling powers do not work on himself (if they did, he’d never know when he was wounded). Valkyries are famous for appearing next to men dying of painful wounds and relieving them of their pain, making their death much easier for them. Something I just wanted to tack on here, Sam is remarkably resistant to disease and poisons. He's only been sick once ever, and that was with the H1N1 flu a few years back. When he caught that, he had the symptoms of a cold. This won't protect him from really bad viruses like Ebola or Morbus' living pestilence, but grants him near-immunity to common diseases and poisons.

Next, Sam has the ability to turn temporarily invisible and intangible. This allows him to walk through walls and become invisible to all but the most skilled seers (lesser seers see a shimmering but cannot decipher Sam from any normal spirit). Sam, can only sustain this form for around ten minutes. Sam also cannot shift from invisible form to normal form seamlessly. It takes about ten seconds for Sam to reappear and become tangible once more, and during this an odd magical ringing can be heard. This power also confuses him with a seer, for they can both assume an invisible form. Seers, however, can harm other things when in supernatural form, cannot walk through walls like Sam can, and must leave their body to obtain this form, whereas Sam does not. Certain seals can damage Sam when he is in this intangible form, though they are rather uncommon.

From this point, though, the similarities end between seers and Valkyrians. Sam has the ability to fly (as he has wings in his supernatural form). Though he can fly much faster in his Alternative form (I’ll get to that later), Sam can fly at around thirty miles an hour. He is new to his ability of flight, however, and so can only fly for short distances in normal or supernatural form. He also cannot fly in very bad weather.

Next, there is Sam’s Holy Fire. Sam can summon this special flame from any candle. It has the ability to damage enemies based on their guilt from sin. The more evil a creature is and the worse they feel about their evil, the more damage the fire does. The fire damages spirits and demons as well. The intensity and damage of the fire is entirely dependent on how bad the opponent feels about their sins. This ability is new to Sam, however, and he cannot fully control it. He can only summon it from a candle, and no other source (he carries two candles and a lighter in an inside pocket of his jacket whenever he believes that he will have to fight, though it’s hard to light a candle when a monster is trying to kill you). The flame only works if the target feels bad about their sins, so sociopaths cannot be harmed. The fire can also be repelled by certain seals, though these seals are rare as they essentially only repel one attack (Marshall’s sword Celsion is one of the few weapons that have this seal). This power does not damage based on actual sins committed. It damaged based on how guilty you feel about it. I say that to keep religion out of the rp.

Sam has the power to speak to vultures, crows, and other carrion birds (ravens, buzzards, etc.). He appears to have authority over these birds, and they address him as “Master”. Crows stand at attention and fall silent when they see Sam or any other valkyrie (this is why crows are said to stop at places where members of their murder have died. They are not pausing because their brother crow died, but because there is most likely an invisible Valkyrie standing in front of them). The birds that Sam has the power to speak to can actually see him when he’s in his invisible form. This power, of course, is entirely dependent on whether or not there are birds around.

Sam’s scythe Memetim can be summoned upon command (like Sundara’s sword). The weapon can damage spirits and demons, and is charmed to be near-unbreakable (it is as hard as carbon steel, shaft and all). The scythe causes an unsettling effect on all creatures that look at it. Many animals such as sparrows, rats, and dogs actually run from the sight of Memetim, whereas humans, demons, and spirits feel an aura of fear overtake them. The scythe’s unsettling effects give Sam an edge in combat. Wounds inflicted by Memetim seem to have trouble healing, almost as if they resist being repaired. A cut that would take one week to heal normally takes two when that cut was dealt by Memetim. He is no master warrior with the scythe, though. While he is relatively skilled with it, he can easily be bested by an experienced swordsman. If the scythe falls from Sam’s hand, it vanishes. Only a Valkyrian can wield the scythe. If Sam is killed, the scythe will appear where he died, though will be burning hot to any non-Valkyrie that touches it.

Finally, Sam has his alternative form. When Sam turns into this form, he becomes a thick-billed raven. Sam’s alternative form can fly much faster than his normal form can (at about 50 mph and 90 from a dive), and is much less noticeable. When Sam turns into this alternative form, he loses all of his powers except for the intangibility/invisibility.

Strengths:Well, I already went over this before, but Sam has a wide variety of abilities. He can turn invisible and intangible temporarily, can see spirits, has a pain-killing touch, can fly, can create holy fire from a candle, can summon a scythe that can damage almost anything, has authority over crows and carrion birds, and can transform into a raven.

Weaknesses: Besides the limitations I have above, Sam has a good deal of weaknesses. Firstly, as I said above, he is still learning many of his powers. Spirits appear as clouds of different-colored smoke to him and his holy fire is very hard for him to control. He flies very shakily and can be blown about by strong winds or storms. Another thing restricts Sam, however. There is an age old moral code that has existed since the dawn of the existence of the Valkyrians, whether that be the Angel of Death or not. This code has been passed down from generation to generation of Valkyrian; a code that they must follow all the days of their life. It what is written on Memetim under the seals. The code goes something like this (this is a paraphrased, rough translation, as the original is written in ancient Hebrew).
1) I shall defend the innocent for all of my days. (Sam cannot abandon anyone who cannot defend themselves)
2) I shall only strike down a sinner if he threatens the life of the innocent. (Sam cannot kill anyone unless they are threatening the life of an innocent person)
3) I shall never abandoned the dead or the dying (Sam cannot allow anyone around him to die alone. He must always comfort them in their death, even if they are wicked)
4) I shall give food to the beggar and water to the oppressed. (Sam is required to give alms to the poor when he can)
5) I shall never reveal my secret to those who may exploit it (Sam cannot reveal his identity to anyone who will tell others. His friends know of his secret, but swore to keep it a secret)
6) I will warn the sinner of his transgression. (Sam has to always warn someone before they commit a sin, though he does not have to stop them from committing it)
7) I shall ease the pain of the suffering and the broken (Sam is required to use his pain killing touch on anyone who is suffering, even if they are his enemy. This does not apply if he is in combat with them, for this could get him killed)
8 )I shall respect the dignity of the dead. (Sam has to make sure that any dead body is buried, and prevents crows and carrion birds from pecking at it)
9) I shall follow the Law of Moses (Sam has to follow the Ten Commandments. This only refers to those ten, not all of Mosaic Law)
10) I shall never surrender (Sam has to fight to the death in any fight. He cannot surrender to an enemy)

This code governs all of Sam’s actions. Breaking certain ones will weaken him temporarily, while breaking others can actually kill him via heart attack. If he does not follow numbers 2, 3, 8, or 10, he becomes extremely ill and can die. The others temporarily weaken his powers. If he uses his holy fire within an hour of breaking one of them, it burns him instead of his opponent. Human medicine does not work on Sam.

Maxx, the character has a good effort at being balanced, but it's making me a lot more leery about accepting than I thought I would be. It's highly religious in nature, and while in real life a religious character would come along once in awhile, I am trying to keep religion out of the story. What I mean is, you're going to have to keep religious talk on the part of the character to a minimum if I accept him, because I can't have religious debates going on in the story, or it'll get a lot of people incredibly upset, and that's an ugly situation I can't tolerate. I wouldn't force you to change the bio, though, or the belief system, since it's defining the character.

The second, is that while you say his power to see spirits is poorly developed, the form it takes on is so much more advanced in nature that it's a higher advantage than a Seer or Human with powers that are rudimentary in nature. It's easy to see a pillar of clouds or smoke, if you know where the spirit is in that manner, chances are, you won't know it's anatomy, but you'll be pretty likely to hit at least some part of its body in a fight. It would be better if his ability to see spirits developed similar to Seers or Humans, in that he sees like the faintest outline, which would make it more difficult to determine where a spirit was, because you'd have to actually look for distortions in the scenery to figure out where your opponent was.

Finally, in regards to the holy fire thing, and all powers relating to sin, what happens if characters don't know they've committed a sin, or based on their personal beliefs, what they've done isn't a sin, so they therefore don't feel guilt about it at all? Is everyone bound by the same rules and laws? These powers in my opinion are incredibly sketchy, and more than likely going to conflict with any character or character controller met in the story in a negative way. Last time I made a religious character (I did, by the way), I was nearly kicked out of the RP for it, and everyone hated me. Also, while I eventually managed to restore their trust and gained back some of the old faith they had in me, they never let it go that I made that character in the first place. You need to make the sinning powers and holy fire a little less religious in nature, and don't portray it like sin and such is in black and white, because in reality, it's highly unlikely that a character that is flawed is going to know a clear difference between right and wrong, and that will hinder the character's powers in its own way. It's unfair to make it like your character is the only one who has a clear idea of what is good or bad, because it's not right to force others to conform to what you believe is the truth.

3) that's why holy fire damages on guilt, not sin. If you don't know it's a sin or don't feel bad about it, then it cannot hurt you.

With that set aside, I'll post as my characters after the initial meeting with the character, I'm going to say everyone ate dinner in complete silence, just because it appeals to my odd sense of humor.
