Is that alright?

General Information

Name: Amos and Navon
Gender: male
Age: 5 (35 in dog years)
World Origin: Supernatural
Identity: Orthus (mythical creature)
Height: Normal form: 17 inches at the shoulder. Supernatural form: 30 inches at the shoulder
Weight: Normal form: 70 lbs. Supernatural form: 150 lbs
Eye Color: Normal form: black. Supernatural form: their eyes glow orange
Hair Color: Normal form: grey Supernatural form: brindle
Alignment: Barrier

Personal Information

Appearance: The number one word to describe Amos and Navon’s monster form is “small horse”. When they break through the veil, they appear as a massive brindle (black and grey) bull mastiff with two heads. Indeed, Orthus is a two-headed dog. They are slightly wider than the average bull mastiff, as their body includes two hearts and two stomachs, and their shoulders are extra wide to fit two gigantic heads. Amos and Navon each have studded leather collars that lead to a chain leash. Amos and Navon’s body is much less threatening when in normal form. Due to the barrier, they appear as a grey American pitbull when in normal form, about seventeen inches tall and 70 lbs. They look just like a normal pitbull in every way, with no hint to their two heads.

Personality: Since they’re technically two different creatures, Amos and Navon have two different personalities. Amos is the right-brained brother of the duo. He is very good with the concrete and exact. He’s good at math and the sciences, and has a very good memory. Amos likes to be exact and precise all of the time. He is a believer of the phrase “measure twice, cut once”. He hates going into things blind and always wants to find out everything he can about an opponent before charging in madly. Amos is very organized and structured. He’s one of those guys who always keeps a schedule. When talking to others, Amos can be rather blunt and brash. He tells things like they are and never sugar-coats things to make people feel better. He is intelligent, and seems to enjoy flaunting around his intellect. Amos is highly logical at most times, and will not go with any sort of “gut feeling”. He works on facts. Navon is quite different. He is the left-sided part of the brain. He deals more in ideals then Amos does, and is very creative and artistic. Navon is very clever and has a love of learning new things. Unlike Amos, however, Navon prefers to learn things on the job. He is good at altering plans on the fly, and is more adept at charging into a situation and figuring out how to stop the opponent while in combat with them. Navon isn’t as good at mathematics as Amos is, but is also intelligent. He is good at recognizing patterns and comprehending situations. Navon is much less organized than Amos, and often does things in bursts of energy, as opposed to systematically working through problems. Because of this, Navon is known to be a huge procrastinator. Navon is normally the better head to talk to, as he is much kinder. Navon has a lot of empathy and is good at relating to others and finding out how they feel. He is honest, but is good at using euphemisms and rhetoric strategies to make truths hurt less. He often tells white lies to keep himself from hurting friends. Navon has a large vocabulary, and is good at making words fit just right so as to convey information perfectly. Unlike Amos, who works on logic, Navon has his own morality. He wants to make things right, not do what is logically the best. Because they are very different, Navon and Amos often argue over what to do (it’s quite amusing to see a pitbull argue with itself). But because they are so different in the ways that they are, they make a great team when they put their heads together (#puns). Both like a lot of typical dog things, like bones, bacon, and a nice game of fetch. Their favorite toy is a blue rubber bone that squeaks when they bite it. They often argue over this bone.

Biography:

Family: Amos and Navon were born in a litter with two other Orthus pups. They go and see their mother(s) occasionally, though their father(s) have since died.

Relationships: Amos and Navon are Marshall’s dog. He got them from a friend when they were a puppy and has raised them since they were little.

Skills and Abilities

Skills: Well, being a dog, there’s not exactly much Amos and Navon can be “good” at. They are both of sentient intelligence. Amos is good at calculating math problems, and can do large arithmetic in his head. Navon has a very large vocabulary and is good at writing essays and poetry. Both of them have a very keen sense of smell (like, bloodhound good) and see decently well. Marshall taught them french when they were little, and tried to teach them latin, but they learned very little of it.

Powers: Amos and Navon are an Orthus, the two-headed brother of the Cerberus. They are extremely strong and fast, able to run at about fifty miles an hour. They have an incredible bite force, strong enough to shatter bones and crush metal. Much like a pit bull, their jaws are designed to lock once they bite down on something, making it nearly impossible to escape unless they are ordered to let go or do it of their own free will. They have a supernatural sense of smell, allowing them to smell spirits and monsters from miles away. If Amos and Navon smell the corpse of a person killed by a dark spirit, they will be able to track the spirit for miles. They can smell demons, fay, seers, and alchemists from about 500 yards away without any scent to start with.

Strengths:
-bone-crushing bite force (like that of a crocodile)
-can smell a dark spirit from miles away if given a starting scent.
-Can smell demons, fay, alchemists, and seers from about 500 yards away.

Weaknesses: Firstly, Navon and Amos have a bite weakness similar to that of a crocodile’s. They have a very strong bite, but put so much strength into their bite down that they can easily be prevented from letting go. So, if you get Amos and Navon to bite something and then hold their jaws down, they will be unable to open their mouths. Smells can be masked by certain seals and perfumes. Navon and Navon and Amos cannot smell a spirit without being given a starting scent (well, they know when one is around, but can’t tell where it is). Another thing that can temporarily stop Amos and Navon is getting them in an argument. Each dog controls one half of the body, and though they normally move in near-perfect synchronization, if they get in an argument they often go into what looks like a seizure, with each head trying to take control of the other’s side or pulling their side the other way.

Other: mix.

Amos and Navon have too much power, Maxx. Generic Mythical Creatures can be harmed by any kind of weapon, resistance is characteristic of Demons and Fay, and even then, complete immunity is not allowed. Think about werewolves as an example. They get shot with normal bullets, and they push out of the skin and the wounds seal up, but when shot or injured with silver, the wounds don't immediately heal. Think about that as a reference to Demons and Fay when dealing with weapon types. They aren't really completely immune to damage done, normal weapons do hurt them, but the injuries tend to heal rapidly or be less severe. Also, as Mythical Creatures, Amos and Navon can use their powers even when disguised, but their power won't increase by very much when they change into their true forms. Demons and Fay are completely restricted in power when disguised, but their power sharply goes up when they break through the Barrier. You need to make sure you don't get the two mixed up, there is a difference. You need to read the Faction information section that I put up after the OP.

Lone, I may or may not accept a character that is five demons in one, I'm not sure about how I feel regarding combination or merged characters, I guess it depends on what the end result is.

Fixed.

Ok, so what about mechanical restrictions? Like I wanna make a character that's a cockatrice, and in cockatrice form it has really long legs and can run extremely fast. But it's real world form is a chicken, and chickens don't have the stride length to move that fast (nor do they have the mouth to give a venomous bite like my cockatrice can).

That's what I mean. My cockatrice would basically be like a gigantic ostrich with a snake head and tail (very vague description) but its barrier form would look like a chicken. Obviously a chicken cannot run as fast as that because it doesn't have the stride length or the muscle.

What I meant was that chickens are still very much capable of mongering fear among children and young adults.

Character 3.

General Information

Name: Benedict Ovum
Gender: male
Age: 19 (this is like 35 in Cockatrice years)
World Origin: human
Identity: Cockatrice (mythical creature)
Height: normal form: 12 inches. Supernatural form: nine feet at the head.
Weight: normal form: ten lbs. Supernatural form: 90 lbs
Eye Color: normal form: black Supernatural form: metallic silver
Feather Color: normal form: red and green. Supernatural form: Well its feathers in supernatural form are red, but its scales are emerald green with a white belly.
Alignment: combine

Personal Information

Appearance: In his normal form, Benedict is a chicken. Well, rooster. I really do not know how to describe a rooster other than its being a rooster, and so I linked this section to a picture of a rooster incase you are someone who has never seen a rooster. Benedict’s supernatural form is much different. Benedict’s supernatural form looks like the combination of a snake and a chicken. It has the body of a large serpent of viper, with a long neck and a head resembling an eyelash pit viper’s. Atop Benedict’s head is a large crest like a rooster’s. Benedict’s eyes are a metallic silver (they have no white, pupil, or iris) and seem to glow. He has a long snake-like tail as well, and a body like a snake. On the end of the tail is a fan of red feathers. At the spot on the snake where a creature would have its legs (the base of the tail where it connects to the body), Benedict has a pair of long legs like an ostrich's. There is a set of spurs on the ankle of both of Benedict’s legs, making his kicks much deadlier. The snake body is covered in triangular emerald scales, and the creature’s belly is white. A row of raised spines like a dragon’s runs down Benedict’s back. Benedict has a pair of red and green-feathered wings that fold up next to his body. They are clawed wings like a bat’s, allowing him to grasp with them. When fully unfurled, Benedict’s wings have an enormous wingspan.

Personality: Benedict is a haughty individual with emphasises on family loyalty and pride. He believes that cockatrices are in general better than humans, and that monsters should take over the world. He has very little respect for humanoid beings, seeing them as weak and frail. He can be easily angered, and is known to be violent around other individuals who try to challenge his strength or manliness. He’s one of those folk with more balls than brains, and because of this has a habit of getting into many fights with both humans and other mythical creatures. He thinks that he is the best of the best, able to take down any opponent. His overconfidence is both a vice and an advantage, as it drives him to do bigger and better things. Benedict’s number one priority is his family. He will do absolutely anything to protect them and loves them more than anything else in the world. His goal in life is to make the world a better place for his children.

Biography:

Family: Benedict has a wife and three baby chicks. They live in an abandoned barn on the outskirts of the town, overgrown by brush and weeds. Within the house, Benedict’s family appears in supernatural form within the barn, but turns into their normal form when the leave. (incase you were wondering, cockatrice chicks look like ostrich chicks with the head and tail of an eastern kingsnake). Benedict used to have a brother who was a basilisk, but Marshall Copeland killed him.

Relationships:

Skills and Abilities

Skills: Benedict is of primitive intelligence. He knows how to speak Greek (his parents taught him) and he uses this to communicate with his family. Outside of that, he has picked up a few english words here and there, but isn’t good at piecing sentences together. He’s not of equal human intellect, but is smarter than a simple animal.

Powers: Benedict is a cockatrice, a species of creatures famous for being particularly potent. Firstly, Benedict has the famous stare of the cockatrice. The cockatrice stare, however, is not deadly. That is the basilisk stare (the two are easily confused). The stare of a cockatrice severely weakens opponents. It saps their strength and energy, causing them to become weak and tired. Prolonged staring can actually cause victims to fall asleep, making them easy prey for the Benedict. It is possible to look away from his stare, but it is difficult. Once you stare into the eyes of a cockatrice, you don’t want to look away for some odd reason. This is not Benedict’s only power, though. Cockatrices can run extremely quickly at nearly 70 mph for short bursts and can sustain a run of 60 mph. His legs are extremely powerful when in supernatural form, and a kick from him is fatal (he can’t kick in normal form because he has short legs). Benedict can fly if given a running start, and while he cannot fly with much speed or agility, can fly for incredibly long periods of time with very little energy. Finally, Benedict’s bite is highly toxic. The venom paralyzes prey quickly, making it easy for Benedict to kill it off with his razor sharp spurs and dine.

Strengths:
-Has a draining stare
-can run at 70 mph
-can fly very long distances
-has a fatal kick (equipped with a razor sharp spur)
-venomous bite.

Weaknesses: Firstly there’s the well-known weakness of all creatures with a paralyzing gaze. If Benedict looks into a mirror, he is weakened by his own powers. A less-known weakness of the cockatrice is that they are killed by the crow of a rooster. If Benedict hears a rooster crow, he dies instantly (because of this, he often kills roosters in the city to prevent himself from being killed by them). Weasels or weasel-based animals are immune to Benedict’s stare. Another problem with Benedict is that his flight requires a runway of some sort. He cannot just take off from the ground because he is too heavy. He needs a space of about fifty feet to run in order to take off (this is only in supernatural form, as his rooster form isn’t as heavy). He needs a similar runway to land, as landing flat-footed would break his legs. Benedict’s venom can be cured with basilisk antivenom or with the crow of a rooster (ie, if you’re dying from cockatrice venom, hearing a rooster crow will cure you). Besides that, Benedict is about as difficult to kill as a flying ostrich.

Think of it like the Barrier alters the shape or casts a fake image. While a creature of different form might be forced into a shape unlike it's real one, it doesn't really mean that Mythical Beings have to be forced into the laws of that form, since they're supernatural. Perhaps as a normal chicken, legs aren't possessing as much of a stride length, but they can scramble unnaturally fast, and because of the nature of the form it was forced into, it's not really going to bother the cockatrice to do it. Besides, people are kind of going to think the speed is unnatural, anyway.

Okay, both the dog and the cockatrice are accepted, keep in mind, though, that venom has never been really that useful in an RP except against NPC's that are generally created by the owner of the venomous character. Chances are, if your guy uses his venom and tries to bite PC's or someone else' NPC, a lot of auto-dodging will happen (It happens regardless if the venom is fatal or non-lethal, it always happens, take it from the person who used to always make venomous characters), and very likely, I won't get onto people for it, since if all the roosters in the town are dead (I need to name the town, speaking of which), and the venom is fatal, that would count as automatically killing a character, and in a fight, it would be unfair to others to end it quickly that way. Chances are, also, spirits (Only spirits, not Demons and Fay, all physical creatures are subject to it) will be immune, because they lack a true physical body that could be poisoned, starved, or dehydrated, although weapons, claws, and teeth can still hurt them.

I know it doesn't work. That's why it's so deadly. And one could always either find a rooster or play a sound bit of one crowing. I might make it so that videos of roosters crowing can cure the venom but won't kill Benedict.

Kay. Expect a guy from me who will be carrying a very heavy tungsten-steel sword...tungsten is still the world's strongest metal.

I'm going to warn you that metals such as tungsten, while strong, is also super dense and lacks any kind of give. As a sword, it would be ridiculously heavy and unbalanced, likely transfer the vibration energy into your wrist and arm, and probably shatter on impact due to not having very much give. I also hear tungsten loses strength in high temperatures.

Basically, it's a one-hit wonder.

Not pure tungsten, Lieo, I would definitely think pure tungsten would be ridiculous, and a bit reactive chemically to surrounding elements. If it's smelted with other things, though, it works a bit better. Perhaps a steel blade coated with tungsten-carbide.

A tungsten carbide edge is a much better idea.

Kay, Night. I was kind of waiting on your sheet to start, but if you don't mind being a little behind, I can go ahead and put up the IC, I have all my own sheets submitted, and there's a good number of sheets from Lone and Maxx. I'm making sure, because I can stall a bit longer, if you want.

I've got my appearance done and I'm calling it a break for now, I'll get back to it later today. I'm a bit lost on what to do for the history (I'm submitting a demon/fay), but I guess I'll just burn that bridge when I get to it.
